Everything was already said in the reviews. I see some comments battling between fresh and sweet. As rose is widely used in different types of scent profiles, the perception really depends on your personal experience with rose fragrances before. If you previously smelled mostly jammy, sugary or oriental roses - this one will be extremely fresh for you. If you smelled pink, dewy, subtle roses - this one will be perceived as sweet and nauseating. I think it's more on the sweet side but in the same manner as blooming, intoxicating flowers are sweet in the fresh, green surrounding. I do get pink lotus and it gives the whole fragrance a bit of exotic and watery vibe - it reminds me more of a rose planted in a Japanese garden, full of azaleas and tiny ponds thank to this note. All in all, it's a very beautiful, natural and intoxicating scent. Both elegant and seductive, classic but done in a contemporary way. Could be used by all ages, it's neither mature or girlish. And definitely not silly. Probably the most seductive rose you could get out of the romantic, rose-centered perfumes.

I don’t understand the reviews of this perfume. Weird Italian reviews not withstanding. I don’t understand how anyone could think that this smelled like Crabtree and Evelyn or Bath and body Works. This is so sophisticated this rose is one of the most beautiful rose perfumes I’ve ever smelled I get rose and magnolia tiny bit of citrus. magnolia That is identifiable, which for me it rarely is and Lotus that is so subtle... Throughout the dry down there’s a hint of vanilla, but the rose is so creamy and subtle but present this is incredibly well blended. Doesn’t have great longevity, but this is just a really fabulous rose fragrance. I sprayed it on my hands two hours ago a couple of drops on the back of my hands. I’ve been working out in the sun with sunscreen on And I’m really smelling the beautiful magnolia. Unlike the bottle of My Pearls! This bottle is gorgeous. The top of the bottle Acrylic I think and more well-made than the plastic cap on the other bottle. Just a gorgeous bottle Inside and out

It's a beautiful, bright and fresh rose focused scent. I would make a guess that the sparkle is care of the bergamot. The dry freshness is care of the magnolia and lotus flower. The musk blends and softens the whole. It is backed with a little warmth and sweetness from the amber and vanilla. First and foremost it is a creamy yet fresh rose scent. On me it remains a relatively linear scent with the magnolia and lotus becoming a little more evident along it's timeline. Very nice but it's too similar to the other rose scents I own. I've got to admit that my first thought was of Stella Mccartneys Stella edp although this is fresher. I already own the Serge Lutens Majeste which is much richer and opulent. This is a much lighter and brighter scent that is much easier to wear every day. It's certainly not obvious regarding the aquatic aspect. I get average longevity and sillage at best.

My favourite rose scent. It replaced at 1st place Bvlgari Rose Essentielle. It is a similar, girly and innocent fresh pink rose. Perfect princess scent. Reminds me also of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet but this is more clearly a rose. And truly special one. Slightly citrusy, tinged with noble magnolia, sweet and a sheer perfection. So far my favourite of The Merchant of Venice. And in general it is high on my favourites list. Possibly top 10. It is so incredibly gorgeous. But in general their creations are worth having. Rather unique and endlessly feminine even in the more daring scents. And it lasts beautifully, too. I gently feel it and it is vivid on my wrist 7 hours already. I also woke up smelling like the freshest roses on a sunny day. The performance is spectacular for such a light, floral scent.

Very beautiful, fresh and dewy rose. The rose is just like the real, fresh, light pink bloom - slightly sweet, floral, delightful. No soapiness, nothing retro here. The other floral notes all create the facets of a real pink rose bloom scent, while the base notes make it lasting, and finish it in a gentle and warm yet clean and elegant way. Beautiful. One of the best fresh rose scents I know. If I would have to point you to the character of the scent to imagine it better on a popular example - it might resemble Bvlgari Rose Essentielle edp, but the scent is softer and even more natural but just as dewy.

A beautiful, fresh, youthful, musky rose. For the first sniff it is a very fresh, but sweet scent, rather citrus than rose but after a few minutes the rose starts to bloom and the musk comes as well. Very feminine, soft, clean, elegant fragrance. On my very dry skin both the sillage and the longevity is excellent, above the average. It reminds me of JHAG Lady Vengeance but it is a lighter, fresher but at the same time a bit more complex version of the identical theme. It is a perfect perfume for a springtime stroll on the Piazza San Marco. Would be nice to know who is the perfumer behind the brand?

This is an old-fashioned english rose type of rose perfume. It definitely reminds me of rose scented bath products from Crabtree & Evelyn. There is a nice tartness about it which I like. It's so fresh, pure, and nice, I feel like a born-again virgin! No, but for real, there is something incredibly pure, feminine, and innocent about this fragrance. It's a very life like smelling rose, like you put your nose right in the middle of a pink rose and took a big whiff. It screams spring and would pair very well with a feminine floral dress.

This is one of those scents. One of those you can’t forget about, and which seduces you from the first sniff. I am not a huge fan of rose perfumes, but this thing is intoxicating. I would describe it as a perfectly balanced citrusy powdery rose. But not lemon like, closer to lemonbalm. It lasts 8+ hours on my skin and I can smell it even after taking a shower. If someone told me to choose a perfume which is embodiment of femininity, I would choose this beauty. So delicate, innocent, but still very special and seductive.

This a beautiful fragrance. The rose is fresh, dewy, and a little jammy at the same time. The jamminess isn’t deep and dark. It’s a subtle creamy and sweet note. This doesn’t last more than 3-4 hrs on my skin. I primarily spray this on my hair and it lasts longer that way. The fragrance blend is well done. It doesn’t smell cheap and is well blended IMO. With valaya and fleur narcotique on my skin and Rosa moceniga in my hair, I smell classy, fresh, feminine and expensive. Try it out!

Ho avuto modo di provare la fragranza Rosa Moceniga di The Merchant of Venice. Un profumo stupendo, molto particolare dove La Rosa moceniga la fa da protagonista! Il profumo ha un’ottima durata e si sente molto. Molto bello ed elegante anche il packaging ottimo per fare un bel regalo.

This is THE rose perfume. It's so elegant and feminine, not overpowering at all. The bergamot adds a nice freshness, and the musk and vanilla in the base make it super warm and inviting.

A near perfect dupe for Stella by Stella McCartney EDP. Obsessed.

I just bought Rosa Moceniga and wore it 2 days in a row to test it out. How should I put it... it's really beautiful, I have a like or love relationship with this perfume. I just don't like the opening part where the Citrus is very strong and a bit bitter, but the later parts are a wonderful Rose garden. Luckily, I only have to endure the top note for about 15, 20 minutes. The smell of Citrus subsided and the Roses began to bloom, spreading as if enveloping me in a cloud of fragrance. I don't know what scent Mocenigo Roses have, but I think these are climbing Roses or bush Roses in pink, pink ombre white. They grow along river banks and canals, with the subtle fresh scent of river water and shoreline plants. A bright and extremely elegant fragrance, it appears on the skin like a magic trick, so it creates comfort for everyone around. As if I were a French or Italian noble lady stroll around the riverside Rose garden, surrounded by a castle with many flowers and grass, it reminded me of Europe in the 19th century. Rating: 8/10, incredibly elegant Rose scent. However, I'm not satisfied with the poor longevity compared to a bottle of niche perfume, after only about 2 hours I couldn't smell anything anymore

This fragrance immediately called to mind Turkish delight (Ottoman lokum), with its powdery top and rosy heart. It opens with a gentle wave of sweetness (not cloying) by a touch of citrus. Rosa Moceniga is not an innovative scent, but it is surely a safe and elegant choice. The opening is pleasantly strong- fresh and flowery. For some reason, this perfume reminds me of stepping into a flower shop and being able to smell the leaves, humidity and cut flowers inside. I was expecting to find some powdery notes hidden somwehere in this fragrance, though I was pleasantly surprised as the rose and bergamot turned out to be the most prominent ones, intertwining nicely and enveloping me with a feeling of holding a fresh rose bouquet. As mentioned before, the head opens with the rose which accompanies us throughout the life of this fragrance on skin, leaving a rosy-musky scent in the drydown. Personally, I think the scent of "Fresh cut roses" from yankee candle is highly similar to this, as it also has those incredibly dewy qualities while aving a pleasantly rosy smell

I love TMoV fragrances and have a few in my collection. I got RM as a sample and find it to be a sweet, jammy rose with a bit of citrusy sharpness. It has a sort of old fashioned rose in it that reminds me of my teenage signature scent by Dolce and Gabbana Rose The One or also a scent from The Body Shop (maybe it was called English Rose or Moroccan Rose). It is great for someone looking for a rose perfume that is not as shampoo-y and candied as many modern rose perfumes. This definitely sticks out of the crowd of rose fragrances. However, I can see why this might not be a mass favorite. It is a fragrance of the past. The bottle is gorgeous though, as with all the TMoV perfumes.

I personally think this is a great dupe for D&G The One Rose. I still have samples of the one rose and think I will miss them when they are gone. It is nice to know that there is a good dupe out there. Not an exact match but close enough. Ladies if you really miss D&G The One Rose give Merchant of Venice Rosa Morceniga a try. The top notes have a zing, a fresh crisp almost lime quality that sparkles. But they disappear into warm softness all too soon. The rose is very pleasant, in a light, soft, daytime, summer way. Definitely a keeper. The sort of scent I want on a summer day, or a holiday, but not a work day, or an evening.

Very similar to A La Rose, nice burst of citrus with opening before drying down to a soft modern pink rose. Perfect everyday scent, non offensive, daytime girly sundress kinda scent...very safe rose choice. Pretty bottle, pretty scent, pretty boring...not ground breaking unfortunately...

I like this, I don't love it but I do enjoy wearing it on those days I just don't want to think too much about what I'm wearing it's great In the early spring days. Longevity and projection are OK but for a cheaper scent that's very similar paul Smith rose gives me the same vibe.

This might sound somehow strange or others might find it untrue. The aromatic aspects in this fragrance remind me a little of Mitsouko. This is more floral, Rose centered and sweeter. But there is a green aromatic hue that reminds of one of Mitsouko's layers.

Why are there so many repeat reviews here in Italian? No need for fake reviews this is a lovely fragrance. Would get good reviews on its own merits.

Gorgeous fresh citrus rose, extremely similar to delina but not as long lasting.

This is a fresh and dewy, but at the same time a sweet and clean rose. In my honest opinion I feel like it is a bit boring at what it does. There is a slight berry note in the beginning; I believe that is the cassis? Whatever it is, that is the only thing I really love about this one, and fortunately that note sticks thought the entire wear. It is nothing groundbreaking here, and even though I have no experience with Bath and Body Works, I will agree that this smells a bit like a rose fragranced bath product, because this turns into a squeaky-clean rose after a short while. The clean and sweet drydown is for sure better than the initial spray, but I can’t really say that this is anything more than okay. The sillage is a bit weak, but that is expected. The longevity is weak which is a disappointment. On another note, I will say that the bottle is pretty, and the clean vibe makes it wearable for every season.

I was SO exited for this one, I was convinced I would love it, BUT this was huge disappointment for me. I got hyped up by the reviews. I LOVE rose in perfumes, but this smells to me little bit like artificial cheap fragrance. I mean yes, it is fresh floral scent, it didn't offend me, BUT I don't love it.... I don't even like it. But it stays on for quite a long time, I tried it yesterday and I can still smell it...

After reading the reviews I bought what seemed an original 10 ml of Rose Moceniga. I was expecting a fresh rose with some citrus in the back. Something for the summer as Dyptique eau rose. Unfortunately it turned a strong sweet perfume. Bad? Not really. Fresh? Absolut not. I wonder if this travel spray is gone bad somehow. Anyway do not buy it blindbuy.

Non ho mai sentito nulla del genere. Questo profumo ristudia la rosa e la propone in una chiave più sensuale ed originale rispetto a come siamo tradizionalmente abituati a sentirla nei cosmetici delle signore più grandi. Ha delle sfumature veramente particolari. Oserei dire uniche e irripetibili. Si percepisce subito la freschezza delle note di testa e poi si viene investiti dal cuore deciso e accattivante. La persistenza é notevole ma non invadente. Lascia una scia delicata, che si fa notare poco e che quindi assicura la discrezione tipica di chi non vuole dare nell'occhio ma vuol lasciare un piacevole ricordo. Lo adoro e lo abbino facilmente con qualsiasi outfit. É incredibile come sappia adattarsi a differenti mood e momenti della giornata. Mi sento assolutamente di consigliarlo! Altra ottima ragione per acquistarlo: il packaging é assolutamente meraviglioso. Lo trovo più che adatto per un regalo a sé o a qualcuno di caro. Il vetro e i motivi, che ricordano e celebrano la rosa in tutta la sua bellezza e classe, lo rendono unico nel suo genere. Sul sito dell'azienda si trovano molti altri profumi spettacolari, con altrettanti packaging di una ricercatezza incredibile. Adesso sono molto curiosa di sentire tutto ciò che il brand propone, perché una premessa del genere crea aspettative decisamente alte. E sono convinta che non vengano deluse.

How could anyone resist this beautiful bottle or not be enchanted with the romantic history of the lovely Venetian Rosa Moceniga? But, as much as I wanted to love this perfume housed in the enchanting bottle covered in roses, it was difficult!! Sadly, Its performance was substandard and with that weakness came the confusing array of notes. Nothing seemed to jibe at all, until today... I live in a very temperate and cool climate but as of late we’ve had record highs like never before! Today it was in the eighties so I picked up my gorgeous bottle and sprayed myself very liberally. Not much happened until I went out to run errands and in full sun I was suddenly enveloped in the loveliest cloud of tender roses, soft flowers, sunlight and sweet warmth! This lovely rose just needed the warmth of the sun to bloom and it has in the most incredibly surprising (and gorgeous) way!

Bath & body works "rose" needs more votes! It absolutely does smell exactly like it! Starts off like the perfume version, soft, sweet, and sparkling. As it dries is starts to smell like the body cream version, same scent but warmer and a bit "thicker" if that makes sense. I'll also say it gives more of the "newer" version of bbw rose which is more realistic. The old bbw rose was too fruity. Safe blind buy, and if I wasn't looking for a femme fatale floral, I'd want a full bottle of this!

I mean how bad can a musky rose be? Well not bad at all, but I felt zero engagement with this perfume. It just didn't speak to me. Even my preconceptions and the anticipation of a cliche didn't effect my judgement on it, my mind was firmly open, ready and waiting for any eventuality and I was met by niceties and good construction. Nothing grabbed me about it. Not a memorable rose perfume for me. sorry for the unhelpful review but there you go. I'll have to wear it again.

Da sempre la Rosa è il mio fiore preferito! Non potevo non provare questo meraviglioso profumo!! È molto delicato e naturale perfetto per ogni stagione e qualsiasi occasione.Le note di testa si aprono con il freschissimo limone di Sicilia che rendono questo profumo davvero unico! Lascia la classica "scia" e non risulta per nulla fastidioso. Puro, fresco e femminile! Ho provato tanti profumi alla rosa ma questo li batte tutti!

È una fragranza fantastica. È davvero elegante e sensuale. Per nulla banale. Al contrario di quello che mi aspettavo, sulla mia pelle fa un odore magnifico. Sono una ragazza di ventitré anni, ed è perfetta per me. La consiglio vivamente. Inoltre persiste per davvero tanto tempo, l’ho messa il pomeriggio e il giorno dopo ancora la sentivo sui vestiti.

Questo profumo é davvero sublime. La confezione é elegantissima, fa parte della Murano Collection ed é un raffinato oggetto d’arredo, con i suoi colori tenui e la decorazione floreale. L’essenza é avvolgente, fresca e delicata, con le sue note di limone, rosa, e ribes nero. Lo consiglio.

I cannot believe no one has compared this to L’eau D’Issey pure nectar which this is nearly identical to. All I smell is pure nectar, which I used to enjoy for sure but wasn’t expecting this and as such I feel a bit disappointed as I was hoping for something different

Ive come to the conclusion that there is one musk note (the same one used in Lazy Sunday by MMM) that smells like nappies or dirty bathwater and unfortunately this fragrance opens with that. It then turns into a very bog standard citric turkish rose.
