The Garden Party Iris

I still have this perfume and for many years it has been my signature scent.It has always been very rare. First I came across it at Harrods at the start of the era of Niche perfume and fell in love with it. When the supply at Harrods dried out after couple of years I managed to trace it in Italy and was getting it directly from the manufacturer, it was a small high quality production and later it was completely discontinued. The perfume itself is very beautiful and feminine, reminiscent of the past times but not in a sad way, it is a comforting elegant scent, I am frequently asked what it is, the sillage is endless, but not invasive. Interestingly it is always women asking... it is really sad that it was such a great perfume, the most amazing powdery Iris, but not very commercially viable. Maybe one day they get together again and relaunch this masterpiece, hopefully the formula is kept safely.

It opens sparkly with citrus, tangerine, bergamot. You would think this is all but iris. No. The big iris is there, powdery, full of class and very long lasting. Rooty, almost resinous, with a bitter, cool undertone in all its opulent magnificence. Rarely have I met such a beautiful iris. Different from many other iris scents around, the powdery note smells a bit like Villoresi Teint de Neige but I would not say the two scents are similar. Very beautiful, perfect in winter, it wraps you in a warm embrace despite its being so cool toned. OXYMORON MASTERPIECE
