Alchemy

I've had to go back and test this one several times to get my full read on it because it is very refined and pretty quiet. I knew I really liked it, I just couldn't quite articulate in my head the right words to explain why. Ultimately, I can define this a love. It is very unique, the sage is there right from the off but with a pepper and unlisted citrus twist that is actually just completely different to everything I own. Actually, the closest scent to it I can get to is their Infinity, of which I have a fb, but it is a sister rather than a true likeness - Not the same notes, just gives a similar light, fresh, herbal, airy vibe which is just gorgeously uplifting! I really do rate this and it will be an fb buy, but I would say sample first (you can find it in their 'fresh' discovery set) because 'different' normally ends up very polarising.

I got this in the "fresh" sampler set and it was my favourite in there ("Summer Daze" and "Figaro" were a close second and third!). I can absolutely smell the fresh clary sage topnote because it opened my nostrils right up! In the image on the website there is also ruby red grapefruit and there is definitely a sweet citrus here too, although it is softened by all of the aromatics (I would definitely call this one more aromatic than hesperides). Cedar sits at the base and a bit of white pepper. I don't get the vetiver. This is a fresh citrus-herbal with a woody base - refreshing, wearable, and unique. I wish they'd list the grapefruit note! I live in Ramsgate and Alchemy is the name of the clothing shop associated with Saltworks so I would guess the name is near and dear to the owner's heart. I find myself wandering in here a lot and the perfumes, for a perfume fanatic like me who owns 5 bajillion bottles, are surprisingly wonderful. So far I own a big bottle of Purple Haze (SO GOOD!), and smaller 10ml bottles of Windsong (no relation so the classic vintage perfume!), French Fig (better than Philosykos), Pomegranate & Amber, Rainstorm, Sun Garden, Bambooshka, Carmen, Cherry Oakee, Tabac Soleil, and Esprit de Cassis and I give all of those top marks. I may just buy a 10ml of this one as well. ps. the more I wear this, the more I love it. May spring for a 100ml bottle after all!

I don't really get any of the notes listed. To me it smells like a generic fruity shampoo, though I can detect some woodiness underneath the sugary sweetness, but it is mostly a sort of apple strawberry perfumey kids shampoo smell. It is quite strong, one spritz is enough to make my nose feel a bit ticklish. It might be best sprayed further away from your face - might be a good contender for a behind the knees spray if you just want to waft a just-out-the-shower-ness about you but not irritate your breathing apparatus if you are a bit sensitive to certain strong smells.

Rich and juicy opening with sweet Grapefruit notes. As it settles woody notes rise, staying throughout. The main body isn't very complex, the fruity sweetness subsides leaving a plain woody base with a hint of something green /Aromatic. Nice alluring fruity fragrance for colder evenings /seasons but literally lasts 40 mins until the woody base is all that's there. 2 hours max in total. Longevity 3/10 Projection 5/10.

Very juicy and fruity, I've no idea where are those notes listed. Delicious!
