French Fig

I have Philosykos on one arm and French Fig on the other and these scents are near dupes. As 100ml of French Fig is the same price as 50ml of Philosykos, you can save yourself a packet by swapping as the notes and pyramid is pretty much the same. Fairly linear milky fig wood, coconut, green notes, and musk. French Fig is ever so slightly greener, woodier and drier in the opening. It has fresh cut grass in the top notes (and a bit of green pepper according to the website), whereas Philoskyos has a sweetness in the top notes that French Fig lacks. But after a few minutes the sweetness is gone and they have stabilised into practically the same scent. Surprisingly French Fig is also stronger and with more staying power. I've heard Saltworks use 25% concentration in their parfum while Philosykos is an EDP (which usually has 15-20%) so it packs a bigger punch - has more sillage, more scent intensity, and longer staying power. After 20 minutes on my arms this is especially clear as the Philosykos has faded but the French Fig is still packing a punch. Basically, if you like Philosykos or woody-green-figs - you will like this. And it's a bargain! Double win. As someone who has smelled A LOT of fig fragrances (read my review of Debaser for a list of my favourites), this one is among the top ranked.

It's a milky fig scent with slight hint of freshness from the grass? I prefer figaro to this one. They are both fig scents but figaro is more on the fresh side whereas this one is more on the milky coconutty sidee.

This is such a smooth, creamy, coconuty fig scent. I have Phylosykos, but I just find this one a little lighter and easier to wear. Granted,you do have to like fig scents, but if you do then this is a cosy cuddle of a fig, rather than a freshie. Saltworks are massively under represented here, they have a huge range of amazing quality, long lasting fragrances.. many of them unisex.. and this is one of the really good ones! Update: Not a safe blind buy - a very long time into this test a very acrid back note finally came through. I suspect that is skin chemistry though, but if you are going to sample then do let it do the full scent cycle before deciding.
