Ocean Drive

I bought this for my partner, rather than myself, and it really does smell gorgeous on him! It is a very easy long lasting day wear scent - the aquatic notes and cardamom are just a bit different up front, and the earthy green dry down is a little masculine for me, but it is just lovely on him!

Very aquatic, Sea Notes as expected. With a hint of citrus in the opening followed by a fresh herbal mossy note (cypress apparently). The main body is definitely cypress with airy, ozonic notes and a slight sea-like bitterness to it. Leans masculine but like most of the aquatic/ ozonic offerings from saltworks, it is lacking complexity and originality.

This one is unisex, skewing masculine. Topnotes are lime and cardamom. The lime is juicy and the cardamom spicy but dry. In fact, the overall effect, once the lime juice burns off and we are left with pith and cardamom and cypress at the base, is bitter and bracing. The sea notes kick in early, but this is a cool, wintery sea. There is no warmth or sweetness except for initial burst of lime. It's similar to Dive and De La Mer. I feel like Dive is the most unisex, as the opening is very lavender and the drydown is a warm, wearable aquatic. This one is much colder and more bitter. De La Mer is more complex, but still cold - bitter mixed with citrus and oakmoss. Neither Ocean Drive nor De La Mer are for me, but I think it might smell nice on a confident man.
