Thistle & Black Pepper

It's a bit sad that this cologne doesn't feature Thistle despite the name, which is reasonable that its scent is not easy to make (although its aftershave has milk thistle extract). However, the amber and sea buckthorn indeed give another kind of sweet, milky feeling, which is rare to see in men's fragrance. Black pepper, on the other hand, balances the sweetness with a spicy and energetic stimulation. Overall it's a good valued, English styled cologne with a maturely masculine and alluring scent, the only disadvantage is that it doesn't last long.

The Sea Buckthorn really gives this one something special, I do actually get the hint of pepper, there's something giving warmth. I use their other offering of vetiver and sandalwood also along with extensive products within the line, you end up smelling good and being well groomed at such a great price point that these end being your daily workhorse products and that is what makes it a winner.

I really like this scent. barbershoppy, manly, fresh. Showed my mom and she said it smells sour and like vomit, I’m pretty confused cause I like it a lot and don’t smell the vomit note haha. My wife liked it and after my mom mentioned the vomit note, she agreed it smells like that! Not sure haha but I still like it

Quite a unique one this. Very creamy, touch spicy, touch barbershop all on a herbal green backbone. I can see how some would make the comparison with Plantinum Egoiste but this is a lot more laid back, less in your face and a much creamier modernised scent. Don't really pick up on the pepper too much but if you are looking for something different for the cooler months then this is something you may consider - it's pretty well blended and won't burst the bank.

Just picked up a great deal on this fine Scottish scent. Fresh and clean smelling without being too generic. Has a slightly spicy dry down. I bought this edt in a set with hair and body wash and aftershave balm. Having a shower shave and spritz of this fragrance helps layer it for better longevity. The a shaving balm leaves a lovely tingle on the skin. My wife prefers this style of fresh smelling fragrances over most popular designer scents I have in my ever growing collection. Longevity and sillage are moderate. Very gym and office safe. Has enough spice to wear in the winter and enough freshness to sparkle in the sun. I have ordered the same set in this brands other offering - Vetiver and Sandlewood. I like to support homegrown brands. Overall this is a lovely fragrance and I will repeat this purchase when the time comes. If you like fragrances like Mont Blanc Legend Spirit this is well worth a punt.

For something essentially made as a cheap and cheerful souvenir of Scotland, available in nearly any gift shop or attraction store around Scotland, this is actually really nice. Basically a barbershoppy smell but with a distinctly green edge - I guess meant to smell like Thistle leaf (which it nearly does) - and a slightly soapy lemony background. The pepper is pretty muted but it smells very well balanced for a bottle coming in at under £20 for 100ml. At the danger of a Scot feeling like a marketing man for the Scottish tourist board, :-) well worth a shot - very enjoyable.

Smells like a carpet cleaning product in a mall. If your new too scents this may pass for some time; it's office safe if sprayed lightly, it's peppery and clean in that respect. It's very linear throughout. Overall 4 out of 10.
