Season Of The Witch

As soon as I sprayed this it brought to mind Perles de Lalique. I haven’t tried them side by side and they don’t appear to have many notes in common apart from pepper, but they both have the same airy, ghostly vibe, slightly camphorous to start but this settles down after a few minutes in both. This is a cold, misty morning in the graveyard, an old, ruinous cathedral on a lonely hillside, three witches on a windswept moor - double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble! This is not for people who want sweet, sweet gourmand scents, it has a definite eerie, gothic feel. Longevity is at least decent - I’ve had it on for six hours at this point and I can smell it clearly in the air around me. Bonus points for the presentation too, which far exceeds what you would expect from a scent at this price point.

This is such an unusual scent, it's incredibly atmospheric and a perfect autumn scent that gives gothic vibes. The pomegranate is incredibly bizarre sexy, the mistletoe and prickly pear give it an otherworldly vibe while the periwinkle softens the spices. It's an unusual scent for unusual people best paired with black velvet. So many gothic perfumes are either rose heavy or strong incense, this is neither and it's all the better for it. The perfumes come beautifully presented at an insanely affordable price, I can see myself coming back again and again. How they haven't gained more traction in indie perfume circles is a mystery. .

I'm not sure how to describe this exactly, but I like it. If "spiky" had a smell, there's something in this which smells spiky to me - I'm guessing it's a mixture between the sweetness of the pomegranate and the spicy of the pepper? I don't have anything else in my scent collection that really smells like this, so although it's not amongst my most favourite scents it is something I will definitely keep purchasing when my bottle runs out.

This is like the grown up version of Juice by Commodity with notably better performance at a fraction of the price. The first spray was so juicy-fruity it had me worried, but give it a minute and it makes more sense. The fruity note (I'm guessing that's the pomegranate) blends with the pepper. I personally would say juicy green berry and pink pepper to my nose rather than what's listed but the general vibe is the same and they balance out well. I am not big on patchouli usually but this is more of that patchouly oakmoss blend softened by something lightly floral and not sweaty or offensive at all. Presentation is beautiful, especially for that price, and the scent is noticeable around me when I move 5 hours in.

This perfume deserves more attention. Obviously there are only a few outlets in the North of England selling it. But at the price it's a really distinctive juice with decent longevity especially on clothes and unisex appeal.

Imagine rotting fruit mixed with wet autumn leaves, moss, black pepper, and weed in a bubbling cauldron.
