Vampire Kisses

Vampire Kisses will forever be tied in my mind to one of my favourite travel memories: discovering The Society in York in 2024 and standing in the shop agonising over which bottle to bring home. In the end, this was the first one I chose. Where Till Death (my second choice) felt like dark romance, Vampire Kisses felt bolder, brighter, and more mischievous. It opens with a floral-spiced flourish of saffron, jasmine, and rose, but quickly deepens into the most intoxicating bitter almond warmth wrapped in amberwood and musk. Despite the name, to me this is not a brooding gothic crypt-dweller of a perfume, but a more whimsical, witty vampire who's charmed everyone at the ball. I bought this one because it felt unlike anything else in my collection at the time and I still find myself reaching for Vampire Kisses when I want something sharper and with a bit more attitude. If Till Death is devotion in candlelight, Vampire Kisses is the grin before the bite.

Great almond fragrance . Smells nothing like baccarat rouge though , very sweet almond scent profile

This is such a lovely and somewhat sweet cloudy fragrance. The almond, wood and rose come through nicely and this has gotten me more compliments than any of my expensive perfumes. The cloudiness of this is particularly prominent to me. It really feels like it wafts around me. Great for an everyday fragrance. It doesn't completely WOW me or anything, but it's just so pleasant, there's nothing I dislike about it. It lasts decently as well on me

This hits a lot of the same notes as Baccarat Rouge 540 but feels lighter and fresher, not quite as cloying. It’s sweet, spicy and a little woody, with the almond notes coming through the strongest for me. When first sprayed I get a slightly floral, almost citrussy undertone which sometimes reminds me of cleaning chemicals, but overall it’s a really nice everyday fragrance.

The first time I smelled this, I was instantly transported back to the old and musty Goth shop that I'd peruse when I was 12, wishing to one day be as cool as the old bats that ran the place that would snicker at the sight of anyone young, inexperienced and "poser'ish". Though it might sound like I'm saying this as a negative, quite the opposite, it's very nostalgic to me and weirdly comforting. I would not be able to tell the notes by smelling this, maybe besides the jasmine, but it's intense and almost spicy in a way. I don't get rose or bitter almond whatsoever. My partner however absolutely detests this. To him, it smelled like a stinky toilet at a dingy club and I have to admit that after he pointed that out the illusion was shattered for me and all I could smell was... exactly that. But alas, it's an interesting one for sure.

At last this perfume house is on here. SoA produce some of the most beautiful long lasting and affordable perfumes. This in particular is my fave. It’s a very similar to Baccarat Rouge , at only £25 bottle it’s a great alternative to those watching their pennies
