If you've never experienced The Spirit of Dubai, I strongly recommend pursuing, at the least, their discovery-sized atomizers. Aamal does open with a strong but brief shot of bergamot and fruit. The scent quickly progresses to an overcast forest which has just been saturated with rain. A fallen log is decomposing, soft and crumbling on the inside. A thick layer of lush and lively moss has generated on the now-defunct bark. As a chunk of the log is torn from its foundation, an aroma emanates from the agitated damp wood, but it is overpowered by the stricken moss, and the terpenic release of grasses, herbs, and ferns that were trampled to arrive at this point. Humidity exaggerates and adds a heaviness to the deep herbal scent. The trees that are still standing can be seen offering a display of generosity, with rich, ever-so-powdery amber being released along their trunks. The floor of the forest is lending its own presence, with a curtain of coniferous needles and wet fur surrounding the experience. Also in the picture are soft, airy sandalwood, and a slight balsamic bite from the benzoin. Aamal does not have the biggest projection of the line, but the performance is still well above most houses. The scent is very unique and far from linear. It leans heavily towards the earthy side of fragrances, with no characteristics from a fresh, citrus, or floral family. While The Spirit of Dubai does use rose and oud in nearly every fragrance, they are certainly not the star of each one and I would not consider this to fall primarily in either category.

Completely disagree with Swolecido. In my opinion it smells smooth and non-fecal. It is the the most gentle of the 2nd gen offering from SOD. I get Amber, carmel, cinnamon and vanilla in the opening and mid. The oud is hard to detect in opening and mid. I wondered where the animalics from the notes were until the dry down came. I get slight animialics of castoreum and civet in the dry down and the oud is non-skanky. They are very well blended and additive the creation. As a man I find this easily wearable but I could see a women wearing this one as well. Whereas some of the other 2nd gen offerings I think are more challenging; this one is the easiest to wear.

Got this as a gift for a male, this out of the seven of the line is I think the most wearable for someone with very light skin and fair features. It is a very intriguing scent, develops beautifully over time but it’s quite overwhelming definitely not for everyone and everyday. The packing, presentation and everything about it is made beautifully, hence the price point. A great idea for a gift for a special occasion, for someone who loves the orient.

Let me start by saying the juice is pretty good. I like the complexity and longevity. However, £685 for try hard "luxury" packaging is way too much. Whoever is in charge of designs should visit a LV outlet. Opened the travel box (faux leather), there were scuff marks on edges, metal edges do not align, spun the globe on top and (i kid you not) it fell off. I am sure they can reduce the price by half if they cut down on cheap premium packaging.

An ultra-niche collection; that by becoming a personification of the city, The Spirit Of Dubai collection was inspired and paid tribute to him. Aamal, like other creations of the brand, brings the opulence of traditional Arab perfumery with smoked woods and resins mixed with the refinement of French perfumery with the addition of fruity floral accords very present, a signature of The Spirit Of Dubai line. Aamal starts with a vibrant and citrusy bergamot exit, already quickly intertwining the rich elegance of a sumptuous bouquet of captivating roses and the warm and spicy footprint of a very leathery saffron, referring to a leather already quite smoky also at this beginning that already promises a lot. I also feel this exit complemented by a fruity accord dominated by the bittersweet acidity of the green apple and the soft sweetness of the peach, revealing a rich blend of aromas that welcome with a fresh and fruity lushness. In the central part of this fragrance, the woody note of an easy oud enhanced by cipriol intertwine in a harmonious dance of mystery and sophistication. This union added to the creaminess of sandalwood creates a rich woody heart, while the incensed and sweet benzoin with patchouli add a heady ambery warmth. The floral and saffron notes offer a sensual and seductive nuance, balanced by the softness of dry woody cedar and the sweetness in the measure of vanilla. A soft dark hint of hot spiced coffee brings a brief aromatic arabesque hint. As Aamal deepens towards drying, it reveals a warm and sensual base of amber with musk. The super-sized amber adds a golden warmth that envelops the fragrance as a whole, while the musk combined with the castoreum provide an animalic leathery depth. With the finishing touch of a smoky metallic 'oud it adds an earthy element and anchors the fragrance in unmistakable oriental territory, and frankincense and green woods reinforce the smoky and earthy woody character of the fragrance. Another excellent creation with very good performance!

The scent profile is my favorite, but its not worth the price. U can say its powdery / woody / animalic. Elegant CEO ( feminine ) scent but the price should be half of the original price.

Smells like crap and I mean that literally. If you ever heard the term "fecal oud" well... this is it.
