If you've experienced a few of these Unleashed fragrances, then you would know the common theme is absent notes. No matter how vast the note listing may be, you will only detect two to three notes max. Musk Vernaculaire continues that trend with some of that good ole barnyard innocence in the form of urine and musk. This combination is very animallic which puts this fragrance smack dab in that taboo department. This is an aroma that absolutely wears YOU but you have to have the confidence to wear IT. Important to note: There's no safe word that will shield you from the ridicule you'll face. The more confident you are the more people around you will think it smells better than it actually does. Okay, that's not true. More than likely if you wear this, it will redefine someone's concept of hell. Can you believe that I actually like this!? Calling all Muscs Koublai Khan fans!!!

An update: After finishing the sample I was given, I have a slight change of mind. This fragrance grew on me the more I wore. This would tick all the boxes for what it takes to be a good niche perfume imo. It smells natural, unique and lasts a long time (if you've sprayed more than 4-5 times). However, I find the accords list (as seen above) to be misleading, i.e. i hardly find any floral notes here. Only a little bit at the dry-down, which barely sweeteens the roughness of the hay. Also this perfume is advertised as the elixir of sensuality. I find that difficult to agree with.

I was sent a sample by a fellow perfume enthusiast and to me this is a miss. Opeing is musky, spicy and aromatic but the drydown is all hay. It's not a bad a scent at all, I feel hay is the main element here and not musk, despite the musk's clear presence. Longevity and sillage is good. Projects well for the first 5-6 hours and then it becomes a skin scent. Pull the trigger if you're looking for a unique dry-aromatic musky fragrance. Not a safe blind buy.

Opens up with a lactic, halitosis-heavy muskiness. Gets more tolerable by the minute. Earthy patchouli, fennel, warmer & creamier than before. Other than that, very hard to pinpoint any specific note. Way too minimalistic, gives me the impression of an amateur working with genuine musk but not managing to blend a full spectrum composition. With that said, it's pretty pleasant to wear.
