Before I go down the rabbit hole of reading other peoples reviews in hopes that I can find a fragrance people say are similar, I need to leave a few words about this masterpiece. It's the best leather fragrance I've ever smelled. That's not to say that it's unique, because again, I'm hoping there's something else out there that can fill the void until my dreams come true and this line is restocked. But it's the quality of ingredients and the way they're blended so seamlessly. I get the leather, violet, angelica/cucumber freshness which I believe adds to the "wet" quality this fragrance has even when the alcohol has evaporated off skin. It's a leather that transports me to the forest in a different world I've only traveled to in books and movies. Think forests like the ones we see in scenes from GOT, LOTR, the 1st Shrek movie with human Fiona. That serene background where there's a winding river, lush greenery, horses, men decked in black and brown leather textiles. It's dark and gloomy yet serene and peaceful. This is the moments before chaos or a fight breaks out, where you just inhale and breathe the calm quiet atomosphere around you. I'm so sad I've only discovered this perfume when it seems as though it's either been quietly phased out or the likelihood of me being able to ever own more of it hangs in limbo. I wouldn't have squandered my sample so freely had I known. But then one could say that perfume such as this is meant to be used and enjoyed. One thing I know in my heart is even if I'm unable to own any more of this scent ever again, it's one that I'll think about for the rest of my life. It's a white whale of a scent for me, and it's just that good. Edit: My luck has arrived! When I checked on this a few weeks ago the entire line was sold out. Now it's back in stock on the brand's website and I will be ordering a bottle. <3

I was so fortunate to win a sample of this fragrance. I was expecting something good, since I loved Enchanted Forest, and was not disappointed. Land of Warriors is indeed a very "dry" scent, with a strong leather and tar base that seems "primitive" to me, in the best possible sense of that word! The slightly sweet rum accord and the animalic/incense notes appear around the three-hour mark. The ambergris is powerful and smells very real.I also detected bergamot and a very slight citrus/fresh spice note, which was interesting. It is not as complex as Enchanted Forest, but there IS more going on than just a good-quality leather. Longevity is excellent and sillage is good--on the high end of moderate, so be careful in office situations. One quibble---Land of Warriors is marketed as a masculine fragrance (and I can understand why, due to the lack of florals and almost no sweetness)--however, on the Bronze Age Russian steppes, and even now in the Mongolian region, women fought and rode alongside men, and were even buried in armor, giving rise to the Amazon legend.I can imagine a woman warrior smelling like this, or wearing this kind of scent. I know I love it, as it's very different from most modern leathers. The closest I can think of is if Muscs Koublai Khan and vintage Gres Cabochard had a baby!

An actual review here. Opens up with an amazing, unique, balanced fruit & leather vibe just as the notes suggest. Blackcurrant and pomegranate are immediately apparent for the first two to five minutes. Then you get the vegetal dose....cucumbers and tomatoes. Might sound odd but it works. This has Duchaufour's fingerprint all over it. Hints of creations from Eau d'Italie and L'Artisan are easily recognizable. I'm reminded a bit of Gold Leather from Atelier as well (which is not one of his creations). I feel the middle goes a little bit mainstream with notes of saffron and nutmeg ala CK Contradiction Men, HdP 1828, and Chanel Allure Blanche for some reason. Combine that with a vegetal blackcurrant leather and I actually get a faint vinegar aroma when I really dig my nose into which quickly recedes into a strange oregano and castoreum based leather. The notes listed are very accurate. There's a lot going here. I would say there's even a bit of Breath of God in there, but better. Medium sillage, above average longevity. If you enjoyed Enchanted Forest and you like leather scents, you will enjoy this one. Solid 3.5 - 4 stars.

Many thanks to Fragrantica for the wonderful samplings of Vagabond Prince :) Upon the first spritz of Land of Warriors, a level of excitement grew in me, almost to the level of first experiencing Enchanted Forest for the first time -it`s been a few years - but I so remember well. Leather and greenery and swoooon- juniper, leather and juicy berries, leather and a mix of woods, leather and spice, and leather and oh you so sexy! I love the layers of notes, blended yet can pick through and discern. No auto oil to me. Maybe it has retro features - the castoreum? I cannot detect carnation or oakmoss, which to me would be retro. I guess I do not have experience with men`s colognes from the `90`s. "This" I told my husband, tapping the carded scent on his dresser. "This. Is my favorite". "This weekend. You wear This" I will not steal it, I promise ;)

Land of Warriors to me is an excellent fall/winter scent! While there are many notes, all this is really is smokey/woody/resinous/leathery/herbaceous goodness. Outstanding blend and great longevity with average projection. Scents it reminds me of... Le Labo Patchouli 24, Creed Spice and Woods + drydown of Viking, Blamage by Nasomatto. You get the picture? It has a feel of a dark scent but all is so well balanced and blended that it remains well polished and exquisite (closer to Spice and Woods). While this leans a bit masculine, unisex overall, great bottle design IMO. This is for trained niche noses: if you are used to designer scents, this will seem overpriced to you (worth every penny otherwise!). Try it if you like this type of scents, not for everybody.

Land of Warriors is a very nice fruity leather fragrance. It starts off with strong violet leaf mixed with rubbery styrax. Later on, it develops into a sweet leather mix with concentrated pomegranate juice. I can sense some oak and bitter cucumber peel way in the background. I find this fragrance to have many facets, yet the main notes overpower everything else, making it smell somewhat generic as there are many leather scents that are in the same vein. Enjoyable, but way too overpriced, I would not buy a full bottle. I find it to be somewhat similar to Loewe 7 Anonimo. Do try to sample them both, for the price I would go for Anonimo anyday, even though it is more simplistic.

I love this fragrance and don't find it to be any more masculine than many other "unisex" labeled perfumes that I have tried. It is an exceptional leather scent that smells like soft suede to me. I ordered a sample from Luckyscent and was blown away - one of the few sample vials I have emptied entirely - returning to see if there might be an extra drop... Just received the full bottle today. Beautiful presentation (though I have to give "Enchanted Forrest" the "best bottle" vote). The fragrance is quite linear, but that's fine with me, because I absolutely love it!

I just don't know how anyone could think this smells like Drakkar Noir. This is a gloriously rich, woody leather with animalic and resinous facets and faint airy greens at the edges. This has none of the fruitiness of Drakkar whatsoever, nor is it in any way a fougere (which Drakkar most definitely is). Someone below wrote "puddle of oil on a biker jacket" and I couldn't agree more! Yes! It also reminds me of Santa Maria Novella's Nostalgia...This is my favorite of the first three Vagabond Prince scents.

Like many said, it is a great, safe, well blended fall and winter scent with excellent longevity and average projection. Overall, I can see why people compare it to Gucci Pour Homme but the scent is much higher quality and much more complex. If you like leather-woods-spicy-green-balsamic scents, definitely try this one. Not too many (that I can think of) can beat this one side by side.

I know greats when they give me the chills. Those specific most intimate and exciting goosebump moments when it is my soul that steers my body. When the pleasure is at its highest and my mind reacts a few days later.... Land of Warriors gives me the goosebumps every time i wear it. Thank you for this. *****

This is one of the best fragrances I own. I have kept mine for 6 years, and the tomato leaf hits a bit different now. So smooth. Just be careful not to overspray. I'm getting an extra bottle just in case it's discontinued. Too many memories made while wearing this.

Delicious acerb sour-sweet pomegranate leather! It is a classy masculine scent. I love this kind of leather accord which is blended with violet leaf, tomato leaf and other fresh herbs, fruits and woodsy notes. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 9/10

Still think this is the best niche i tried all year (2014-and 2015 for that matter). Prehistoric and intoxicating.

الخيار - أوراق الطماطم - الكشمش الأسود - الرمان - أوراق البنفسج - العرعر". وقبل أن تسأل عن العنصر المسئول عن الجلود في الافتتاحية سأجيبك بأنه العرعر فالعرعر "Juniperus": يحتوي على زيت طيار وانيولين ومواد سكرية وراتنجية وصمغية وشمعية طعمها مر، وله رائحة جميله عند حرقه، وأشجار العرعر ذات رائحة منعشة، ويستخرج منها زيوت ذات رائحة جلدية. وأما المكونات ال 6 الباقية فهي متلاطمة التكوين "عشبية - حمضية - فاكهية - حارة - معدنية - منعشة" أما الرائحة العشبية فمصدرها مكونان: الأول: الكرفس أو حشيشة الملاك "Angelica": نبتة معمرة تنبت في السهول والأماكن الرطبة، لها رائحة عطرية قوية، مذاقها حلو في البداية ثم يصبح لاذعا، وبذور الكرفس لها العديد من الاستخدامات كمقو للمعدة والكبد وأيضا كمنشط جنسي. والثاني: أوراق الطماطم "Tomato Leaf": أوراق خضراء عشبية مرة المذاق تستخدم في العطور الذكورية. أما الرائحة المنعشة الحمضية فستنطلق من مكونين آخرين: الأول : الخيار "Cucumber": نبات اسطواني فاتح للشهية، له رائحة منعشة تثير غرائز الرجل الجنسية وتثير نشوته. الثاني: الرمان "pomegranate": ثمار ذات قشرة حمراء قرمزية، وبداخلها الكثير من الحبيبات الحمراء ذات طعم منعش حلو وبه بعض الحموضة. وستكون الرائحة الفاكهية من نصيب الكشمش الأسود "Black Currant": عنب الثعلب الأسود: نبات فاكهي يشبه التوت ذو رائحة فاكهية حارة ذات سمة خشبية. وأخيرا الرائحة المعدنية القوية وهي ستنطلق من: أوراق البنفسج " Violet Leaf": تختلف رائحتها عن رائحة الزهرة البنفسج الحلوة القوية، فرائحتها معدنية أرضية. فنحن أمام افتتاحية قوية تسيطر عليها الجلود من خلال كثافة العرعر ولكنها أيضا منعشة بها سمات عشبية وفاكهية. وهي بذلك تمثل الطبيعة والحياة في قالب شهواني مقصود وكأن مصمم العطر بالفعل قد وضع أمامه أحداث ملحمة الإلياذة وحرب طروادة في مرحلتها الإسبرطية السابقة لحرب طروادة. وربما يكون مزج هذا التقرير مع التقرير السابق "ذهنيا" هو الأفضل لتفهم العطر ومكوناته بشكل أفضل. القلب: هو الحياة ولكن بصورة مغايرة للصورة الأولى الشهوانية المترفة. فهو الوجه الأكثر حدة وقسوة والذي يعبر عما يدور بالحياة من صراعات وحروب قد تبدو للوهلة الأولى بلا قلب أو رحمة غير أنك مع بعض التدقيق حتما ستجد ضمن تفاصيلها الكثير من الشجون حينما تمزج البطولات الدماء بالعبرات، والكراهية بالتقدير، والخصومة بالنبل، عندها ستشعر أن الإنسان قد قبضت الأحداث عليه كلحمة واحدة فريدة لا وجود لها خارج ساحات القتال لتخرج منه الكثير من المشاعر كالتضحية والإيثار والفداء في أنقى وأعمق وأصدق صورها. فالجلود الروسية: ذات رائحة قوية وحادة جدا وذلك بسبب طلاءها بالقطران البتولا، لجعلها مرنة ومقاومة للماء مختلطة بالبلوط " Oak ": هو أشجار كبيرة عمرة قوية منها أنواع دائمة الخضرة كالسنديان الفرجيني الأمريكي ولذلك يطلق عليها البلوط الحي. يشيران إلى الحدة والصرامة والقوة التي تنفي وجود التسامح أو التراحم غير أن وجود الزعفران " الزعفران "Saffron ": الزعفران من التوابل ذات القيمة العالية، حيث استخدم منذ القدم كوسيلة علاجية لأمراض متعددة، رائحته التي تشبه العسل مع العشب. سيجعل الأمر مختلفا، خاصة إذا أدخلنا على هذا المزيج "القوي الحاد - الناعم السويتي" بعض الدفء من خلال الشيح " Artemisia ": أوراقه ذات رائحة نفاذة لاذعة ولكنها خشبية دافئة بها لمحات تابلية. بالإضافة إلى جوزة الطيب " Nutmeg": نوع من التوابل الحارة اللاذعة، ذات رائحة ترابية حلوة بعض الشيء والمدهش أن يضم لهذه الصورة ال "قاسية - حانية" بعض البهجة من خلال: الزعتر "Thyme": نبات يتميز برائحة قوية جدا تشبه الريحان. يعطر الجبال برائحته الزكية يطلق عليه صفة "مفرح الجبال". وله رائحة عطرية قوية وطعمه حار مر قليلاً، نبات قديم كان قدماء المصريين يحرقونه كبخور في طقوسهم الدينية وزهور الصخور "Rockrose": زهور تخرج أعلى وبين الصخور في حوض المتوسط، ذات ألوان مبهجة، تستخدم لإنتاج راتينج عطري يشبه رائحة زهرة الأوركيد. وحتى يصبح الأمر مثاليا فيجب تثبيت وتدعيم بقاء هذه الحالة العطرية فترة من الوقت بمساعدة اللابدانوم "Labdanum ": هو راتنج بني لزج يستخدم كمكون عطري خاصة في عطور التشيبر الخشبية. البخور "Frankincense": رائحة ذات صبغة دينية تنطلق عند حرق اللبان العطري. فالقلب بمكوناته ال 9 كان من الممكن أن يكون عطرا قائما بذاته، غير أن مؤلف العطر آثر أن يهبه كقلب لإلياذته التي لا تكاد تفارق عقله أو عينيه وهو داخل معمله العطري يحاول تجسيد الأحداث بشكل درامي متكامل. بقيت القاعدة بمكوناتها الخمسة وهي ستكون معبرة بشكل دراماتيكي عن أحداث النهاية. حينما تمتزج صورة الفخامة والثراء الملازمتان لكرسي العرش وسلطة الحكم بسكينة الشعور بالزوال الذي ختمت به الإلياذة أحداثها. فجلود القندس " Castoreu": حيوان رائحة جلده قوية لاذعة شهوانية لمن يرتدي فراء القندس الفاخر و العبهر - Styrax: وهو راتنج ذو رائحة دافئة بها لمحات خشبية تشبه رائحته الفانيليا إلى حد ما وهو من مصادر نوتة الجلود الطبيعية النباتية. حتما سيعطيان الشعور بالفخامة والثراء الذي ستخضعه لاحقا سكينة العنبر " Ambergris ": حوت العنبر الحيواني الطبيعي، رائحتة قوية ترابية توباكية ثقيلة ونفاذة. لنرى الجلود بعدها ولكن في رتبة أقل من هذه الملكية المخملية السابقة وسيعبر عنها بشكل مثالي فطر الكاستوريوم "Castoreum": إفراز فطري يخرج من الخروع، أو بديلاً اصطناعية، تستخدم لإضفاء رائحة جلدية في العطور. ولم يتبق إلا مشهد الختام والذي تفوق فيه مصمم العطر على نفسه حينما حاكي فيه الحدث بشكل أكثر من رائع حينما سمح للدخان من خلال القار "Tar": مادة عضوية تنتج بالتقطير من أخشاب الصنوبر، تستخدم كعازل في طلاء الأخشاب وخاصة أخشاب السفن، ذات رائحة مسكية، وعند حرقها نتتج رائحة دخانية. أن يسدل أستاره ببطء ليغيب المشهد كاملا رويدا رويدا ويتوارى خلفه كل شيء. العطر جميل ورائع وفاتن ذهنيا أكثر من فتنته العطرية إذا انتبهت وميزت هذه المكونات والنوتات فسيصعب عليك أن تجدا عطرا يشابهه ولكن إذا نظرت له نظرة سريعة سطحية فقد يختلط معك الأمر لتنتهي بذكر عطر ريد من بيفرلي هيلز أو غيره عوامل النجاح قد توافرت لهذا العطر بشكل ممتاز غني بمكونات فريدة انتقالاته مذهلة ولكنها تحتاج لشخص لديه بعض الخبرة والتمعن الثبات والفوحان ممتازان التقييم العام لا يقل عن 9/10 عطر يستحق الشراء لكل عشاق العطور الكلاسيكية القوية الفريدة النادر وجودها هذه الأيام

أرض المحاربين من دار فاجابوند برنس "الأمير المتشرد" الأمريكية للرجال Land Of Warriors The Vagabond Prince for men لقد شهدت أغلب بقاع الأرض وربما كلها صراعات وحروب عديدة غير أنني سأختار منها هذه الحرب الضروس العاتية التي للآن لم يتم التأكد من وقوعها، أم أنها مجرد خيوط إلهامات شعرية شطحت بخيال هوميروس لينسج منها ملحمتيه الشعريتين الإلياذة والأوديسا. وأنا على يقين من أنها كانت هي المستقرة في خيال وذهن الأنف الخبير Bertrand Duchaufour وهو يختار ويمزج مكونات هذا العطر بدقة وعناية شديدة وكأنه يسير على خطى هوميروس في ملحمتيه شبرا بشبر ولحظة بلحظة وحدثا بحدث. دعونا نعود بعجلة التاريخ سبعا وعشرين قرنا للوراء أي قبل الميلاد بثلاث عشرة قرنا لنطل على هذه المدينة الرائعة القابعة فوق هضبة الأناضول بآسيا الصغرى غرب تركيا والتي تطل على الساحل الشرقي لبحر إيجه الذي يفصلها عن اليونان غربا حيث مملكة إغريق اسبرطة جنوب اليونان قريبا من مضيق الدردنيل أعلى البحر المتوسط. أمسية رائعة جمعت بين أميري طروادة هيكتور وشقيقه باريس ابني بريام ملك مملكة طروادة وبين ملوك وقادة مملكة اسبرطة العسكرية وعلى رأسهم زعيمهم منيلاوس الذي تزوج بهيلين أجمل نساء الكون وقتها، والتي تنازع للزواج منها كل قادة وزعماء الإغريق، حتى استقر الأمر بينهم على أن يقسم الجميع على حماية شرف هيلين والدفاع عنها قبل أن تقع القرعة من نصيب منيلاوس ليتوج زوجا لهيلين. الصخب يملأ المكان من أصوات قرع كؤوس الروم وصياح السكارى حول موائد ضخمة تحمل كل نفيس من أشهي الأطعمة والمشروبات والمشهيات. ويلتقط الأمير الصغير عددا من شرائح الخيار لعلها تثير شهيته مع أعواد من حشيشة الملاك "الكرفس" حلو المذاق الذي سرعان ما يصبح لاذعا، فيلتقط باريس ثمرة كبيرة من الطماطم وقد تعلقت بها أوراقها الخضراء الندية غير أنها لم تفلح في القضاء على ما انتهى إليه مذاق الكرفس من لذوعة تشبه المرارة فيقرر أن يقضي على ما بقى من أثر الكرفس بتناول الكشمش الأسود الحار الذي بدا متألقا متلألأ هذه الليلة كلما سقطت عليه أضواء المشاعل والمصابيح المنتشرة على الجدران. وتدخل الجميلة هيلين لتجلس إلى جوار جسد زوجها منيلاوس المترنح من الثمالة، وما تلبث إلا قليلا حتى يتملكها الملل ثم الضجر من هذه الأجساد المترنحة والأصوات الصاخبة التي ما أن تهذي بأي شيء حتى تتعالى ضحكات الجميع من سمع ومن لم يسمع على السواء، وتقرر هيلين أن تخرج إلى شرفة القصر لتمر بجوار باريس الذي لا يعنيه هذا الجمع في شيء غير صحبة شقيقه الأكبر في هذه المهمة البروتوكولية، وتلتقط أنف باريس رائحة لا يمكن أن يكون مصدرها أي من هذه الأجساد الضخمة التي يعج بها المكان. ويرفع باريس رأسه لتقع عيناه على هيلين وهي تمر بجواره وقد علا رأسها تاجا من أوراق زهرة البنفسج الرائعة، وتلتقط يد باريس كأسا من عصير الرمان الحامض المنعش لعلها تساعده استعادة توازنه ليلحق بهيلين إلى شرفة القصر الذي يطل على سفح جبلي تغمره أشجار العرعر بعضها أخضر تفوح منه رائحة منعشة وبعضها يسيل من بين لحاءه راتينج لزج تفوح منه رائحة جلدية قوية وعلى جنبات الطريق اكوام متتالية من أفرع العرعر الجافة وقد اضرموا فيها النيران لتنير السفح أمام القصر وليمتلأ المكان برائحة رائعة. هل كان الأمر مقصودا أن يختار باريس هذه الأطعمة والمشروبات التي تثير الغرائز دون غيرها، أم هو صدق تأويل رؤيا هيكابا زوج بريام عندما حملت بباريس والتي ألقاها بريام خلف ظهره وتمسك بباريس رغم تأويل الكهنة لها بأن هذا المولود سيكون سببا في هلاك الطرواديين وتدمير مملكة طروادة. هل كان هذا أم ذاك هو المتسبب في قيام باريس بهذه المغامرة الغير محسوبة العواقب عندما حمل هيلين معه في المركب الملكي الطروادي ولم يخبر شقيقه هيكتور بالأمر إلا بعدما شقت المركب بحر إيجة متجهة شرقا نحو مملكة طروادة. ولتعلو صرخات منيلاوس أشد حرارة من شمس اسبرطة عند انتصاف النهار ليفيق الشعب الإسبرطي الثمل على هذا الخبر المشؤوم. وبعد أن كان الصخب والهذيان والضحكات يملؤون ليل اسبرطة، علا نفير الحرب نهارها ليطيح بالنعاس والارتخاء وليرسم على قسمات الوجوه علامات غضب الحرب الذي تنتزع قسوته أي أثر للرحمة من القلوب. ويلبس الإسبرطيون دروع الحرب الجلدية السميكة المطلية بالقار ليلينها، والمدججة بالقطع المعدنية المدببة القوية لتفوح منها رائحة قوية حادة إما أن تطيح بالخصم أو ستكون كفنا لصاحبها في قبره. وينطلق الإسبرطيون إلى سفنهم القابعة على شواطئ اسبرطة يحملون سيوفهم وحرابهم المصنوعة من خشب البلوط القوي تطعن مقدمات سفنهم عباب بحر إيجة لتشقه بلا رحمة أو هوادة يحاولون اللحاق بالمركب الطروادي واستعادة ملكتهم ثم القضاء كل من تصل إليه أيديهم من الطرواديين. وإذا كان باريس قد ورط أخاه هيكتور في هذه الخصومة التي قرعت طبول الحرب، فعلى الجانب الآخر استغل أجاممنون غضب شقيقه منيلاوس في تحقيق حلمه باحتلال هضبة الأناضول والاستيلاء على مملكة طروادة. وتعلو سطح بحر إيجة أدخنة متصاعدة لقطع من عنبر الحوت كانت طافية على سطح بحر إيجة ليقيم بها الإسبرطيون طقوس صلوات الحرب واستجلاب النصر وقد امتزجت هذه الأبخرة العنبرية الحادة القوية برائحة الدروع الجلدية السميكة المطلية بالقار والتي قد ألهبتها حرارة الأجساد كما ألهبت أخشاب السفن المصنوعة من البلوط والمطلية بالقطران لتقاوم الماء والأخرى العارية والتي يمسكها الجنود رماحا في أيديهم كل ذلك قد ألهب حماسة مياه بحر إيجة لتلقي بهذه السفن سريعا على ساحله الشرقي حيث مملكة طروادة. والتي كانت قد تزينت لعودة أميريها في غفلة عما ينتظرها من أحداث، فهاهي سفوحها تكتسي بنبات الزعتر "مفرح الجبال" الذي تفوح منه رائحة تشبه الريحان وتزدان صخور الجبال بألوان الزهور الصخرية " Rockrose" الرائعة المبهجة، ثم أسوار قلعة طروادة المنيعة العالية وقد غرست تحت اقدامها عشب الأرطميسيا "الشيح" برائحته التابلية الدافئة لطرد الهوام عن مدينتهم القابعة خلف هذه الأسوار. ويقترب الموكب الأميري من القلعة مسرعا وينفتح باب القلعة الكبير الرئيسي لتنطلق خارج أسوار القلعة رائحة الزعفران وجوزة الطيب تفوحان من جفان الأطعمة التي امتلأت بها موائد عامة كست ساحة المدينة ابتهاجا بعودة أميريها سالمين. وينزل هيكتور من عربته مسرعا ليرتقي درجات المنصة الملكية حيث يقف بريام في الشرفة الملكية ينتظر قدوم ولديه وقد تعلق بصره بهذه المرأة الغريبة التي تسير إلى جوار ولده باريس، وبينما يعانق ولده هيكتور يهمس في أذن ولده متسائلا عن هوية هذه المرأة الغريبة، وما أن يتمتم هيكتور ببعض الكلمات لوالده حتى يرفع بريام يديه ممسكا برأسه وقد أغلق عينيه ليتشح المكان حوله بالسواد ثم يدور برأسه نحو زوجته هيكابا التي قد أعادتها نظرات الندم والفزع التي ارتسمت على وجه زوجها إلى حلمها بعد أن كادت الأيام أن تنثر ما بقي من رماده بلا رجعة فوق مياه بحر إيجه حيث يغسل الطرواديون أجسادهم ويلقون بهمومهم وآلام الفراق في وداع موتاهم ينثرون رمادا قد أبقته النيران. ولم يرحم نفير الخطر الذي انطلق من ساحل بحر طروادة هرم وشيخوخة بريام لينذر باقتراب عشرات أو مئات السفن الاسبرطية حاملة الموت إلى سواحل طروادة. ويهرول الجميع في كافة الاتجاهات لتنقلب موائد الطعام من تسارعهم وتزاحمهم، وتنطلق من معابد طروادة أبخرة بخور اللبان العطري مختلطة براتينج اللابدانوم بعدما أمر الملك بريام جميع كهنة طروادة بالصلاة من أجل انقاذ مدينتهم من هذا الخطر الذي قد رسى على ساحلهم. وعند خروج هيكتور على رأس جيشه لصد هجوم الاسبرطيين وإبعادهم عن مملكته، تكون قدما آخيل قد نالت من ساحل طروادة قافزا من مركبه ليقود الإسبرطيين إلى أسوار طروادة ويلتحم الجيشان في معارك رهيبة متتالية بين كر وفر أنهك الأيام والشهور في اللحاق به. وتتوالى الأحداث حتى كان اليوم الذي شهد النزال بين آخيل وهيكتور لتفقد طروادة قائد جيشها في نهايته. ويسارع الملك ممنون زوج أخت هيكتور في الخروج بجيشه من مملكته لنجدة صهره الملك بريام وليثأر لمقتل هيكتور غير أن آخيل ما يلبث إلا قليلا حتى يلحق الملك ممنون بصهره هيكتور. فتهب الملكة بلسفونا بجيش من المحاربات وكانت بلسفونا ملكة على بلد لا تسكنه إلا النساء المحاربات، لتزيح الإسبرطيين عن الشواطئ الطروادية وتبدأ المعارك من جديد بين المحاربات والجيش الاسبرطي وتلتحم الأجساد المكتسية بالدروع الجلدية السميكة وتتطاير السهام والرماح بينما تخطف الأبصار حركة السيوف في كل الاتجاهات فتنشق الدروع وتتناثر الجلود لتكسو أرض سواحل طروادة، إلى أن يتمكن آخيل من قتل الملكة بلسفونا. وتستمر المعارك وحصار الإسبرطيين لطروادة قرابة العشرة أعوام حتى كان اليوم الذي لمح فيه باريس آخيل واقفا في مرمى سهامه فأسرع يطلقها عليه ثأرا لمقتل شقيقه وينجح أحد سهامه في اختراق كعب آخيل حيث مقتله، وبموت آخيل تتبدد آمال الإسبرطيين في احتلال طروادة. ويخلع الإسبرطيون دروعهم الجلدية السميكة عائدين إلى سفنهم مستسلمين لفشل مهمتهم. ويبادر الطرواديون إلى اقتفاء آثار الإسبرطيين على سواحلهم التي بدت خالية إلا من هذا الحصان الخشبي الضخم المصنوع من ألواح السفن الخشبية المطلية بالقطران واقفا وحده في المكان، ويظن الطرواديون أن الإسبرطيين قد تركوه لهم استجلابا للصلح، فيأخذون الحصان مبتهجين يدخلونه إلى ساحة قلعتهم ليكون شاهدا لهم على هذا النصر الذي كاد أن يلفظ آخر أنفاسه لولا مقتل آخيل. ويعلن الطرواديون النصر وتقام الاحتفالات وينتشي الجميع حتى يعم الظلام ليزيح التعب عن كواهل الطرواديين ويدخلهم في سبات نوم عميق قد فارق جفونهم عشر سنوات كاملة. غير أن الأمر لم يكن كما فسره الطرواديون فلقد كان الحصان مدججا بالإسبرطيين الذين سارعوا بالخروج من الحصان ليفتحوا أبواب القلعة ويدخل جيش اسبرطة الذي كان مختفيا، وتبدأ نهاية طروادة في هذه الليلة التي اشتعلت فيها المدينة وتعالت ألسنة النيران من كل مكان ليغرق الدخان كل شيء، ويدخل الإسبرطيون إلى قصور بريام التي تكسو جدرانها ونوافذها الجلود وتعج مخادعها بأفخر أنواع الفراء، فيقتلون بريام ويستولون على كل ما تصل إليه أيديهم. ويستطيع باريس أن يفر من المدينة حاملا سيف طرواده يحدوه أمل أن يعود طروادي في يوم من الأيام حاملا سيف طروادة ليثأر للجميع ويفك أسر طروادة من قبضة الغزاة الإسبرطيين.

أرض المحاربين من دار فاجابوند برنس "الأمير المتشرد" الأمريكية للرجال Land Of Warriors The Vagabond Prince for men ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ نحن أمام أحد العطور التي تعد نموذجا مثاليا يمكن من خلاله الإلمام ومعرفة النوتات الجلدية كمكون عطري قد يستولي على عطر ما ليحمله لا كمكون فقط ولكن كتصنيف عام. الأمر الذي أثارني في هذا العطر هو ما شممته ينطلق من داخل هذه الزجاجة والذي يؤكد بما لا يدع للشك مجالا أن هذا عطر يفوح منه عبق الجلود من أوله لآخره ولكن مع التحفظ على أمرين: الأول: أن رائحة الجلود ليست هي نفسها في مراحل انتقالات العطر. الثاني والأهم: أن الجلود لا ذكر لها في نوتتي الافتتاحية والقلب رغم سيطرتها على العطر بشكل تام!! وقبل أن أكمل أمر نوتة الجلود أحب أن أشير إلى أن هذا التقرير قد ضمنته مكونات لم تذكرها مدونات ومواقع تصنيف العطر -وهذا أمر شخصي- ربما أكون قد أصبت فيه أو أخطأت. غير أنني ما أزال مقتنعا تماما بما كتبته وفقا لما شممته وأحسسته يفوح من داخل زجاجة العطر. عودة للحديث عن الجلود كمكون عطري... الجلود كرائحة لها مصدران هما "الحيوان - النبات"، لربما تثير كلمة النبات بعض الدهشة عند البعض ولكنها الحقيقة فهناك بعض النباتات يستخلص منها زيوت عطرية ذات طابع وعبق جلدي كما سنرى لاحقا. أما رائحة الجلود الحيوانية فهي حقيقة تظهر مع دباغة الجلود وهي تنقسم إلى نوعين رئيسين الروسية: وهي مستوحاة من الزي العسكري للجيش الروسي قديما حينما كان يصمم من الجلود السميكة المطلية بالقطران لتجعلها أكثر ليونة ليسهل بذلك عمل الأحذية والأحزمة القوية الغليظة التي تنطلق منها رائحة قوية وحادة متعمدة لتعطي شعورا بالهيبة والصرامة. ويعد توسكان ليذر هو أحد العطور التي تمثل هذا النوع بامتياز. الإسبانية: كجلود الشامواه وقد تجلى ظهور هذا النوع خلال القرن السادس عشر وهي الجلود الأكثر نعومة والتي تكون من جلود الحيوانات ذات الفراء كالزباد ويحلو للبعض أن يستبدل كلمة الجلود هنا بكلمة أنيماليك ويعد ليذر عود من ديور أحد النماذج التي تتجلى فيها هذا الرائحة بوضوح تام. وعطرنا هذا قد ضم الأنواع الثلاثة بشكل تام "النباتي والحيواني الروسي والاسباني". نبدأ مع افتتاحية العطر والتي أراها قد ضمت 7 عناصر هي " الكرفس - الخيار - أوراق الطماطم - الكشمش الأسود - الرمان - أوراق البنفسج - العرعر". وقبل أن تسأل عن العنصر المسئول عن الجلود في الافتتاحية سأجيبك بأنه العرعر فالعرعر "Juniperus": يحتوي على زيت طيار وانيولين ومواد سكرية وراتنجية وصمغية وشمعية طعمها مر، وله رائحة جميله عند حرقه، وأشجار العرعر ذات رائحة منعشة، ويستخرج منها زيوت ذات رائحة جلدية. وأما المكونات ال 6 الباقية فهي متلاطمة التكوين "عشبية - حمضية - فاكهية - حارة - معدنية - منعشة" أما الرائحة العشبية فمصدرها مكونان: الأول: الكرفس أو حشيشة الملاك "Angelica": نبتة معمرة تنبت في السهول والأماكن الرطبة، لها رائحة عطرية قوية، مذاقها حلو في البداية ثم يصبح لاذعا، وبذور الكرفس لها العديد من الاستخدامات كمقو للمعدة والكبد وأيضا كمنشط جنسي. والثاني: أوراق الطماطم "Tomato Leaf": أوراق خضراء عشبية مرة المذاق تستخدم في العطور الذكورية. أما الرائحة المنعشة الحمضية فستنطلق من مكونين آخرين: الأول : الخيار "Cucumber": نبات اسطواني فاتح للشهية، له رائحة منعشة تثير غرائز الرجل الجنسية وتثير نشوته. الثاني: الرمان "pomegranate": ثمار ذات قشرة حمراء قرمزية، وبداخلها الكثير من الحبيبات الحمراء ذات طعم منعش حلو وبه بعض الحموضة. وستكون الرائحة الفاكهية من نصيب الكشمش الأسود "Black Currant": عنب الثعلب الأسود: نبات فاكهي يشبه التوت ذو رائحة فاكهية حارة ذات سمة خشبية. وأخيرا الرائحة المعدنية القوية وهي ستنطلق من: أوراق البنفسج " Violet Leaf": تختلف رائحتها عن رائحة الزهرة البنفسج الحلوة القوية، فرائحتها معدنية أرضية. فنحن أمام افتتاحية قوية تسيطر عليها الجلود من خلال كثافة العرعر ولكنها أيضا منعشة بها سمات عشبية وفاكهية. وهي بذلك تمثل الطبيعة والحياة في قالب شهواني مقصود وكأن مصمم العطر بالفعل قد وضع أمامه أحداث ملحمة الإلياذة وحرب طروادة في مرحلتها الإسبرطية السابقة لحرب طروادة. وربما يكون مزج هذا التقرير مع التقرير السابق "ذهنيا" هو الأفضل لتفهم العطر ومكوناته بشكل أفضل. القلب: هو الحياة ولكن بصورة مغايرة للصورة الأولى الشهوانية المترفة. فهو الوجه الأكثر حدة وقسوة والذي يعبر عما يدور بالحياة من صراعات وحروب قد تبدو للوهلة الأولى بلا قلب أو رحمة غير أنك مع بعض التدقيق حتما ستجد ضمن تفاصيلها الكثير من الشجون حينما تمزج البطولات الدماء بالعبرات، والكراهية بالتقدير، والخصومة بالنبل، عندها ستشعر أن الإنسان قد قبضت الأحداث عليه كلحمة واحدة فريدة لا وجود لها خارج ساحات القتال لتخرج منه الكثير من المشاعر كالتضحية والإيثار والفداء في أنقى وأعمق وأصدق صورها. فالجلود الروسية: ذات رائحة قوية وحادة جدا وذلك بسبب طلاءها بالقطران البتولا، لجعلها مرنة ومقاومة للماء مختلطة بالبلوط " Oak ": هو أشجار كبيرة عمرة قوية منها أنواع دائمة الخضرة كالسنديان الفرجيني الأمريكي ولذلك يطلق عليها البلوط الحي. يشيران إلى الحدة والصرامة والقوة التي تنفي وجود التسامح أو التراحم غير أن وجود الزعفران " الزعفران "Saffron ": الزعفران من التوابل ذات القيمة العالية، حيث استخدم منذ القدم كوسيلة علاجية لأمراض متعددة، رائحته التي تشبه العسل مع العشب. سيجعل الأمر مختلفا، خاصة إذا أدخلنا على هذا المزيج "القوي الحاد - الناعم السويتي" بعض الدفء من خلال الشيح " Artemisia ": أوراقه ذات رائحة نفاذة لاذعة ولكنها خشبية دافئة بها لمحات تابلية. بالإضافة إلى جوزة الطيب " Nutmeg": نوع من التوابل الحارة اللاذعة، ذات رائحة ترابية حلوة بعض الشيء والمدهش أن يضم لهذه الصورة ال "قاسية - حانية" بعض البهجة من خلال: الزعتر "Thyme": نبات يتميز برائحة قوية جدا تشبه الريحان. يعطر الجبال برائحته الزكية يطلق عليه صفة "مفرح الجبال". وله رائحة عطرية قوية وطعمه حار مر قليلاً، نبات قديم كان قدماء المصريين يحرقونه كبخور في طقوسهم الدينية وزهور الصخور "Rockrose": زهور تخرج أعلى وبين الصخور في حوض المتوسط، ذات ألوان مبهجة، تستخدم لإنتاج راتينج عطري يشبه رائحة زهرة الأوركيد. وحتى يصبح الأمر مثاليا فيجب تثبيت وتدعيم بقاء هذه الحالة العطرية فترة من الوقت بمساعدة اللابدانوم "Labdanum ": هو راتنج بني لزج يستخدم كمكون عطري خاصة في عطور التشيبر الخشبية. البخور "Frankincense": رائحة ذات صبغة دينية تنطلق عند حرق اللبان العطري. فالقلب بمكوناته ال 9 كان من الممكن أن يكون عطرا قائما بذاته، غير أن مؤلف العطر آثر أن يهبه كقلب لإلياذته التي لا تكاد تفارق عقله أو عينيه وهو داخل معمله العطري يحاول تجسيد الأحداث بشكل درامي متكامل. بقيت القاعدة بمكوناتها الخمسة وهي ستكون معبرة بشكل دراماتيكي عن أحداث النهاية. حينما تمتزج صورة الفخامة والثراء الملازمتان لكرسي العرش وسلطة الحكم بسكينة الشعور بالزوال الذي ختمت به الإلياذة أحداثها. فجلود القندس " Castoreu": حيوان رائحة جلده قوية لاذعة شهوانية لمن يرتدي فراء القندس الفاخر و العبهر - Styrax: وهو راتنج ذو رائحة دافئة بها لمحات خشبية تشبه رائحته الفانيليا إلى حد ما وهو من مصادر نوتة الجلود الطبيعية النباتية. حتما سيعطيان الشعور بالفخامة والثراء الذي ستخضعه لاحقا سكينة العنبر " Ambergris ": حوت العنبر الحيواني الطبيعي، رائحتة قوية ترابية توباكية ثقيلة ونفاذة. لنرى الجلود بعدها ولكن في رتبة أقل من هذه الملكية المخملية السابقة وسيعبر عنها بشكل مثالي فطر الكاستوريوم "Castoreum": إفراز فطري يخرج من الخروع، أو بديلاً اصطناعية، تستخدم لإضفاء رائحة جلدية في العطور. ولم يتبق إلا مشهد الختام والذي تفوق فيه مصمم العطر على نفسه حينما حاكي فيه الحدث بشكل أكثر من رائع حينما سمح للدخان من خلال القار "Tar": مادة عضوية تنتج بالتقطير من أخشاب الصنوبر، تستخدم كعازل في طلاء الأخشاب وخاصة أخشاب السفن، ذات رائحة مسكية، وعند حرقها نتتج رائحة دخانية. أن يسدل أستاره ببطء ليغيب المشهد كاملا رويدا رويدا ويتوارى خلفه كل شيء. العطر جميل ورائع وفاتن ذهنيا أكثر من فتنته العطرية إذا انتبهت وميزت هذه المكونات والنوتات فسيصعب عليك أن تجدا عطرا يشابهه ولكن إذا نظرت له نظرة سريعة سطحية فقد يختلط معك الأمر لتنتهي بذكر عطر ريد من بيفرلي هيلز أو غيره عوامل النجاح قد توافرت لهذا العطر بشكل ممتاز غني بمكونات فريدة انتقالاته مذهلة ولكنها تحتاج لشخص لديه بعض الخبرة والتمعن الثبات والفوحان ممتازان التقييم العام لا يقل عن 9/10 عطر يستحق الشراء من كل عشاق العطور الكلاسيكية القوية الفريدة النادر وجودها هذه الأيام

بعد از تست اولین کاره این برند که انچانتد فارست یا جنگل سحرانگیز نام داشت و بسیار موفق هم بود امیدوار بودم که کارای جدیدتر شاهزاده خانه بدوش که به نظر می رسه برند تازه تأسیسی توسط سهام دارای فرگرنتیکا هم هست همچنان مسحور کننده باشن ، ولی خب هرچقدر رایحه ای دوست داشتنی و همه پسند داره انچانتد فارست ، این کار عجیب غریب و سخت پسنده ، در تمام طول عمر عطر کاستوریوم رل رو در دست گرفته و آکورد مشروبی چوبیه رام و آکورد چرمی هربال و اسپایسی بر محور رایحه ی مشک مانند ، اوره ای اسموکی چرب و چرم گونه ی کاستوریوم شکل می گیره ، شروع عجیبی داره سرزمین جنگجویان ، بسیار تیز و اگزوتیک و گیاهی و تلخ و شور ، یک پیاله انار کال و ترش رو در نظر بگیرین که با نمک و گلپر مزه دار شده در کنار فضایی مسموم ، سوخته ، ادرار گونه ، چرب و انیمالیک و دودی چرمی ، خیلی طول نمی کشه که این فضای عجیب غریب و بی مانند با رایحه ای شیرین و چوبی از رام و همچنین میوه ای و خیارگونه و تازه از نارنگی تلطیف می شه و از اون حجم روایح اگزوتیک ردی محو و خشک و گیاهی چوبی و لیمویی بالزامیکی به جا می مونه و امبر گریس هم بیشتر خودنمایی می کنه ، البته در کنار این توضیحات باید بدونین که کاستوریوم با ویژه گی های منحصربفرد خودش مدام حس می شه و جزء لاینفک این عطر هست ، به مشام من آکورد مشروبیه عطر پر رنگ تر از چرمه و هر چقدر می گذره پخته تر و زیباتر می شه ، آکورد چرمی هم از یک چرم روسی اگزوتیک اسموکی تلخ صمغی و قیر گونه در جیری پودری و چسبناک و دوست داشتنی به سرانجام می رسه ، به طور کلی سرزمین جنگجویان ابعاد و تغییرات فوق العاده ظریفی داره که بسیار اعتیادآور و جذابش می کنه ، فضای عطر فضایی ایستا منسجم و یکپارچه نیست تا منجر به ایجاد تصویر‌ ذهنی ثابت در مخیله شما بشه ، بلکه پویا و روایت گر هست و شما رو با داستانی افسانه ای حماسی و اکت محور روبرو می کنه که چنان متحرک و وقایع در هم تنیده هست که پیش از آنکه دیالوگی را به خاطر بسپارین یا تصویری رو در ذهن حک بکنین با حادثه ای دیگر و گفتمانی متفاوت روبرو می شوین ، بدین ترتیب برای مرور دوباره اش ناچار به تکرار عطر هستین ، عطار این کار بی گمان بایستی یک آنارشیست‌‌ تمام عیار باشد ، نوت ها به گونه ای آزاد در بی علقگی مطلق رها شده اند تا به بداهه ترین شکل ِطبیعت ِخود حماسه آفرینی کنن ، اسب های وحشی ولی رام شده بدست جنگجویان که اکنون در برابر اقتدار و سرکوب سوار کاران خود طغیان کرده اند ، تا آرامش را دوباره در سرزمینی که به تصاحب جنگجویان در آمده است حاکم کنند ، این عطر عصیان و طغیان نوت ها در برابر حس بویایی شما و آنچه زیبا می پندارید ست... سرزمین جنگجویان کاره خاص و به نظر من بسیار متفاوت از فارنهایت و دیگر عطرهاییه که اینجا در ریویوها عنوان شده بنابراین پیش از خرید بهتره تستش کنین ، از ماندگاری خوب و‌ پخش متوسطی هم برخورداره ، اخیرا کمتر عطری مثل این تونسته بود درگیرم‌ کنه بنابراین شخصا حسابی ازش خوشم اومد.

So I received my free sample of this in the mail today (thank you very much btw!) I immediately popped the lid off & did a dab on my wrist. I selected the land of warriors being a lover of leather in scents. I must say if you are too you surely wont be disappointed, the dominant note is leather. A beautifully blended leather to, I did pick up just a hint of sweet-sourness with it too, I'm trying to decipher which note could be giving it off I think it may be the ambergris tomato leaf or black currant really not sure though. I placed this on my wrist around 2pm today it's now 10:30pm & I can still faintly detect it so longevity is brilliant. I find this perfect for now (it being winter here) Ima give it a test on the weekend && see how it favors. Oh & I see they have this labeled for men...its just a label of course && I see no reason why women couldn't wear this I don't find it that strong or offensive either. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this could I do a full bottle of it eh prob not & I will add I liked the opening more so over the dry down (Wishing that sweet fruitiness stayed through out the entire wear) . During the recent Vagabond Prince sale I talked myself out of ordering the entire line and held my purchase to the only one I'd sampled and loved. When it arrived I was delighted to discover a spray vial of Land of Warriors had been included! After applying one spray to each wrist I was kicking myself for not buying that heavily discounted full bottle of Land of Warriors. I smelled the full range of cool, vegetal leathers noted above and it was absolutely glorious! Just those 2 sprays created a powerful cloud of crisp, cool freshness that followed me around the house. Imagine my surprise when, 20 minutes later, Land of Warriors had dried down to a lovely, soft and powdery warm blend redolent of coffee and vanilla sweetened hot cocoa. Puzzled, I followed my nose and pawed through my bottles of coffees and chocolates (of which I have quite a few), spritzing and sniffing until I got to... Rochas Man. Yes. I swear and affirm that Land of Warriors dries down to a clone of Rochas Man, which I've always enjoyed. I'd still be kicking myself if Land of Warriors' top notes had persisted because that blend is both beautiful and unique. But my nose and wallet are telling me I don't need another bottle of Rochas Man.

Interesting vegetal/violet leather scent that sits on a base of generic designer woods. The opening blend is quite nice and somewhat cooling. The notes blend well...cucumber, violet, tomato leaf, pomegranate, etc. The opening then gradually fades into a basic spicy woody leather base. I don't get a strong leather from this. I think the labdanum hints at a leather, but it doesn't seem to be strong...it sits in the background and isn't prominent. Surprisingly, this seems to have the same base as Loewe 7 Anonimo. After wearing this twice and being reminded of it in the drydown, I wore a spray on the back of each hand one day. They start off very different, but start to have similar backbones once they dry down. Anonimo has a peppery pimento spice that stays with it, and this has the vegetal vibe that is still present in the drydown too. They aren't exactly alike on drytown...but both seem to fork from the same base. I think this is unisex. It isn't a rough and tumble scent, but it does get more "mature" as it dries down. You could even say it represents birth and aging: light and delicate at the beginning, but gaining more depth as time goes on.

Sometimes the saying 'Everything Old is New Again' is befitting of fragrance. Every once in a while I will run into a fragrance that has it's roots set in the past but somehow manages to be contemporary. For me the violet leaf, tomato leaf, frankincense and birch combination that lasts alongside the traditional Cuir de Russie leather notes help to define the fragrance. I can't help but think of vast winter landscapes on the open Steppes when I smell this. The type of cool crisp winter air that clears the nostrils and has one picking up on the drifting scent of coal burning in a house miles away. I think the combination of resins and fresh bittersweet green leafiness along with a faint ambergris gives the traditional leather notes a contemporary backdrop. It's a leather fragrance steeped in tradition but comfortably different. I get a shear black currant note on my skin in the drydown that knits everything together and compliments the leather notes - keeping everything clear. If you're a true leather lover - a la Eau D Hermes or Cuir de Russie but was hoping for something with a modern edge - this is definitely worth testing.

This is a minor disappointment. It's not that it is a bad fragrance; it's a great quality scent that smells good. It's just that it isn't much better than the many late 80s designer frags that established the tropes that this fragrance dryly reiterates. Quality aside, this is only marginally better than Giorgio Red or Mr. Blass and at a 2000% markup. This is speculative, and I may be biased, but I'm not sure that this is going to come off as anything more than a terribly un-chic fragrance to the target audience. I'm only 25, but I'm definitely not too young to vividly recall the noxious cloud of dihydromyrcenol pouring out of my middle school locker room. I think perhaps it's still a bit too soon for something like this to come back into style. There is a reason that I haven't smelled Drakkar Noir on another person in over 10 years. I must say, though, that the packaging is gorgeous, inspired, and unique. The style is so charming and whimsical - something that is often lacking in perfume concepts. Perfume isn't all sex and excess; it can be fun, too.

Leather, Violet, Cedar and birch. In this perfume I feel like I'm watching the beginning of a revenge movie. It has a sweet outlet, like violets and I imagine an industrious and cultivating town, and thirty seconds in, you see that the barbarians arrive with horses and the leather enters the fragrance. The barbarians leave the distroyed town and the child who swears revenge remains. That child grows like the trees that carry the fragrance, especially cedar and birch and becomes a male who claims revenge (that's where the castoreum comes in). That's where the fragrance stays, touching the point of rotting this mixture on the skin but smelling good, projecting a lot and lasting about 6 hours and then stays in the skin four more hours. I liked it, it has not made me crazy, but my wife liked it a lot and has not stopped repeating it. It is an alpha male and is not sexy, but projects a lot of raw sexuality. Note:8. Would I buy it: I do not know.

An interesting offering from Bertrand Duchaufour which can be classified as a gourmand animalic, this fairy tale like creation is designed as a tribute to the various notes present in a leather perfume - vegetal, mineral, animalic, and smoky. The blackcurrant prevails with the castoreum and ambergris lurking in the background. The end product is a sweet somewhat ashy perfume that evokes a medieval prince on horseback in a fairy tale forest. In fact this scent could have been titled "The Vagabond Prince" - the name of the house. The scent is nicely blended and very unique. It is somewhat sweet for a masculine scent and can be easily carried off by women. The bottle is a gorgeous piece of art. Moderate in sillage /projection and very evocative, this one is for men and women who like Eastern European or Russian fairy tales.

Thank you, Fragrantica, for the sample! My review is based on one time test. I was surprised that it was classified as Woody Aromatic. To me it is pure Leather fragrance. Natural, high quality leather. Smells like a new high end leather handbag to me. I would say for a leather addict it is must have. But I am not one of them. As much I love unisex fragrances, for leather scent I prefer a more feminine take, like Lancome Cuir de Lancome. Again, I might change my mind after second and third test but right now I do not have the need to own Land of Warriors. Again, thank you very much for letting me sample this new Duchaufour perfume!

Bertrand Duchaufour is one perfumer that I always respect for his well made unique creations but unfortunately never found one that suites my personal taste and style, until someone recommended me this! I blindbought with all these promising reviews in mind: The notes and the name promise something wilder than the average Duchaufour perfume which let's face it, this isn't, nothing animalic, wild or even an interesting take on leather or violetleaf, it doesn't even reach likes of Dzing! or Chypre Palatine on those facets. Not even close to be honest. Has no motorcycle feel, no tires no animalic asphalt! (Descriptions made by others here.) It takes a lot from the old school of perfumery without adding the X factors he always delivers for other houses. Starts sweet, stays sweet, there's non-filthy castoreum that fades, ashy florals that last, a little spicy, woody notes that aren't anything interesting. Again very reminiscent of average 80s masculines. Average nose would call this dated, I can only change it to overdone and already there for cheaper! Performance is also bellow par for this scent DNA, but that would not have been an issue for me if I found the scent remotely interesting or at least unique. (Which is a shame I always wanted a perfume of his...) In the end, clearly someone asked Duchaufour to make a rough badass perfume, something he has never done before and it shows...

starts off like pure, worn black leather jacket. i don't sense much else except maybe something musky and animalic and maybe the labdanum. after being on the skin about half an hour it's a golden, oily, woody scent with something just a bit rubbery. it's nice! i want to try this one on my boyfriend.

Leather motorcycle gear in the sun. Animalic asphalt, and a marvelous tomato leaf--this guy goes off-road, too. A bit of sour fruit and herb-y flowers round out the long ride. I love the way the vibe switches back and forth from urban to rural.

Add, it always shows as a new message no matter how many times I read it or click it. Interesting. Thank you. My opinion and review stand unchanged. For reviews, it's now acceptable only to rate everything on the scale of awesome. Whether it be a little sample worthy awesome or go out and buy it now awesome. No longer can anyone post an honest, respectfully critical or dissenting review since someone may disagree, mistakenly label it bashing or worse, be offended. I wanted so badly to fall in love with this fragrance as I love the concept, artwork, nose, notes and packaging... That said, it should be no surprise I'm in agreement with lovingthealien. It's a dated smelling absolute leather bomb with a touch of fresh green notes making it remincent of old school powerhouse colognes. Leather, castoreum and birch overwhelm everything except some very minor acquatic fresh, green leafy notes which add little nuance to an otherwise uninteresting, monotone fragrance. For those that love leather fragrances and incredibly eye catching packaging, look no further. This is for you. My personal feelings? Overall, it's a forgettable addition to Mr. Dachufour's portfolio. A mediocre yet bombastic fragrance made by a well-respected nose in absolutely beautiful packaging with a somewhat justifiable price tag. With great sadness, I click the dislike icon.

The opening is lovely -- fruity, tart, and cheery, but within half an hour, the fruit is gone and it's a super old-school, mega-macho leather that smells a great deal like an early 80s drugstore leather fragrance. In fact, the dry-down really reminds me of Chaps. It would have been nice if some of the fruit and berries in the beginning had lasted longer as they would have really complemented the leather, but as it is, the leather is sultry, ponderous, overbearing. I love good, stinky animalics used in interesting ways, like Masque's Montecristo, but LoW strikes me as a rather straightforward historical reproduction, a by-the-numbers period piece from the sweaty, swaggering glory days of Studio 54. I think Montana's original Parfum d'Homme is a much more interesting (though somewhat later) statement on 80s powerhouse leather. If you like power leathers, you might like LoW. It's a bit like Knize Ten's distant, hairy chested, gold chain wearing Jersey Shore cousin. P.s.- thanks to the Fragrantica folks for the sample.

bitter and herbal in the top like a fougere but more herbal; as it dries, it sweetens a bit and the leather comes through but is not the star over the herbs; a little bergamot, a hint of saffron, tomato leaf, no smoke; the pomegranate and clementine make this sweeten a tiny bit but it is not a "fruity" fragrance; hated the opening, thought the drydown was okay, wouldn't want a full bottle. I really liked what I thought was the base. It was leather, saffron and some sweetness from pomegranate. But, there was one more phase. That went back to the top but dry. Herbal, dry and leather. I love leather fragrances but not this one. And, yes, it is very masculine. Almost like a vintage men's cologne in the top and total drydown base.

Despite the fact that I don't like it, here is my honest opinion. This is a very safe masculine scent with very good longevity of about 6-7 hours and moderate sillage with a vintage vibe and feeling without being dated or too old school. That being said it's not something unique or groundbreaking. I've smelt it before and the smell is not expensive. If I couldn't see the bottle, I'd say that it's a new release with vintage vibe from CK or Armani etc. Leathery/greeny, slightly animalic & woody, with tiny soapy traces and a gigantic note of violet leaf! Omg this is for those who love violet leaf and mild leather with mild birch, styrax and vegetables.

"with a transversal and vertical presence of leather through all the different accords" - what utterly pretentious rubbish, nothing less would surprise me from the house I hate, The Vagabond Prince. Doesn't even really smell of leather (not a note I like anyway) But it does smell... utterly forgettable and bland - THAT they have achieved. Congrats. Worst frag house I've ever encountered. Give up now.

I'm only about half an hour in but I've been smelling my elbow and tapping my desk asking myself, what is this, what does this remind me of, I know it's something. And then it clicked. Varvatos Vintage. It's that honeyed tobacco sweet sticky spice overtone, with a base of warm rich leather. There's hints of Michael Kors for Men, Varvatos & Vintage. I'm not sure where it'll go in the drydown but I can't get over the resemblance. I also get a little of that green tomato leaf coming through. I wouldn't say at this stage it's overtly masculine, I mean maybe a warm friendly guy but females could definitely pull it off. There's a bit of a house accord/style going on here (I own Enchanted Forest), and I'd say it feels fairly competently made in terms of complexity, blending of accords/notes, nice transitions, but I'm not as impressed as I would have hoped for the house. It's not bad work, just not terribly interesting. It feels a bit like any of the classic 80's mens scents, with the spices, leather, honey, etc. If it was in a designer bottle I'd say better than average, but for a niche offering it's fairly meh. Decent enough, but nothing that will come to mind when making recommendations.

I’ll say up front that this isn’t for me. However, it is very interesting. S T Y R A X. It screams to my nose, especially in the opening. I think this is the note that people are describing as “automotive”. To me styrax smells like a bit like copier ink, wood varnish and tire rubber. In a word, it smells like things I generally wouldn’t want to smell like. I can see how it evokes leather for some, but for me it’s more vinyl than animal hide. It does evoke nomadic warriors to me, if only in the sense that my nose feels like it’s being assailed by troops of molecule-sized soldiers on tiny horses with mud-caked manes. This is intense. Eventually there is a bit more complexity - the screeching styrax yields a bit to a sweetness and a smoke that emerges. I get more of the impression of leather, some saw dust. Like the cab of a dump truck. I never get pomegranates, tomato leaves, or anything vegetal. The drydown is comparatively soft, balsamic and even a little piney to my nose. A wild and mostly unpleasant ride for me, but it is absolutely powerful and evocative. If you want a perfume that can live up to the ad copy and really offer a fantasy or experience, I think this succeeds.

I am not a huge leather fan, especially fruity leather, so when I saw the pomegranate in this note pyramid, I got ready for an uncomfortable experience whilst testing this one out. I am so pleasantly surprised! I don't really pick out fruity notes here, maybe they are just present in the overall tang of the fragrance. It's so warm and leathery, a little animalic, and also with a heavy dose of freshness. Although this has the masculine backbone of many men's fragrances (leather, violet leaf, birch) it somehow doesn't feel too masculine to me. It feels just right for me to wear it, and I think that's the earthy aspect of this fragrance coming through. I do smell the soil and the tomato leaf - not strongly, it's been blended in, but it keeps the leather and violet leaf (two sharp notes) grounded and natural. By natural I don't mean that this doesn't smell like perfume - it does. But perfume with a connection to nature. I like this. It smells to me like someone clean in the forest who wears and works with old leather - probably male, but (with a surprising twist) could be female. After all, Earth belongs to everyone. I was lucky enough to win a free sample, eee! Such a nice little Christmas surprise in my mailbox. Without looking at the notes, I got a delightfully fresh, wetly green edged birch and oak scent with warm spice touches at the opening. Gradually it becomes more of an oily black leather (still with fascinating fresh cold wetness) with smoky olibanum hints. The overall effect is that of a high quality leather jacket in the cold air of winter... air that's blowing through a forest nearby and there's a freshly cut pile of logs around. A tinge of bitter, almost petrol, but this adds to the manly coolness in the best way. There's a Creed-like very fresh cut birch for a while til the oily black leather takes over that. They trade off beautifully. It's delightful. Really delightful. While I think it'd be much better on a man, I will selfishly horde my sample to wear myself ;P I can see this being addicting. My notes: --Very intense: leather, birch, artemisia, tomato leaf (for a while after the opening, then fades) --Intense: violet and currant leaves, oregano, olibanum --Noticeable: nutmeg, saffron, castoreum, styrax [12.23.14 from dab sample official]

This is just my first impression of the fragrance. It's from a sample sent directly from the house. So it's a verified sample of this fragrance. I have had very different experiences from full bottles as opposed to their samples. I prefer to treat most fragrances like a bottle of wine (sometimes they're pretty fine wines & worth every penny). When I get a full bottle (back to fragrances now) I may have a different perspective than what I had with the sample. So, I don't like to judge a book by it's cover but....this is G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! My 18 year old son, who is all about Layton by PDM, has decided he "needs" this sample after smelling it on me. I have to say this is done so well & truly addicting. I planed on giving both the male & female oriented fragrance samples to my son & daughter to try but wanted to smell them first. So 7 hours after spraying one spray (one spray) of Land of Warriors I literally had to shower to get it off. The scent is like the energizing battery -it just keeps going & going. This sucker projects, lasts forever & smells so amazing!

First off, thank you to Fragrantica for the giveaway! I've tested this a couple times already. I get major leather on my skin. I mean, it's leather galore on me! I'm not saying that's a bad thing either. It's very interesting and very unisex. Men can easily wear this and brave women should give it a go as well. It smells kinda like my old motorcycle jacket I have, and I mean that in a good way. I get some of the vegetal notes, but they mostly just sit in the background. The only note I was nervous about was the cucumber, as I'm not much of a fan of that note. Thankfully, I don't smell it at all. Overall, this one really agrees with my skin; I got around 8 hours of longevity with moderate sillage. If you're curious about leather in fragrances, get a sample of this and do try it, it's very lovely, and unique. Just a small warning though: you might feel like a leather-clad, gun-toting badass while wearing it! Good job, Vagabond Prince!

“Put aside the ranger. Become who you were born to be.” These words come to mind when I smell Land of Warriors by The Vagabond Prince. With its four layers of leather (vegetal, spicy, animalic and smoky) this summons up everything from a Pharaoh’s woven leather battle gear to the leather tunics of the bellicose Celtoi—with a little gladiator thrown in for good measure. That said, Land of Warriors opens with a clean, fresh leather scent that toggles between something modern, like Cuiron, and musty old leather books stacked in the farthest reaches of the Bodleian Library. The smoky, animalic notes—the real warrior bits—lie far beneath these clean, bookish notes ensuring that the modern-day warrior can wear this to work, do battle, claim victory and not smell as if he missed his—or her--shower that morning. That’s right; modern day Boudicas will enjoy wearing this scent as well.

This is actually better than people give it credit for. Very manly, without being macho. Opens with angelica, violet leaf, a hint of cucumber, tame leather and a dry earthy styrax that isn't resinous per se. A strong tomato leaf accord appears, and it reminds me of ivy. Then birchy wood with a fruity mandarin/pomegranate background. Stays dry and earthy with some dried up motor oil and steel thing going on. This scent smells grey and black, and it's more conceptual than descriptive. I find the smoke to be rather sharp, and I also find the base to be even sharper and oddly citrusy. I don't pick up on any conclusive note except nutmeg and a vegetal tarriness. I don't find the castoreum or ambergris to dominate the scent at any stage. I really like it, and even wearable for a woman like me. Really good work!

A strange, vaguely unpleasant opening — a sort of fruity, leafy kind of thing with a trace of leather somewhere in the distance. It actually smells a little automotive with some vegetal facets, which is just weird. It also smells more than a tad dated — almost like a late-‘80s mainstream fragrance. But what does intrigue me about it is that for as oddly familiar as it smells (Drakkar Noir? Fahrenheit?), the path it takes to get there seems far less conventional. There’s a prominent watery effect in it — like calone without the searing pain. So, although I find it sort of ghastly, for people who love the retro effects of the kind of butch masculines you can find at TJ Maxx, Land of Warriors has some curious appeal to it.

I also was lucky enough to win a free sample and it's very interesting. I don't get the similarities with Drakkor Noir that everyone else is talking about, and I don't get fruity or green notes at all. It goes on straight as a leather and birch tar fragrance with maybe a coy hint of vetiver behind. It's definitely masculine. Dry leather, woody tar and oak. It's also a lot of fun and will layer very well with other scents. A rose would soften this into a feminine with attitude scent. A sharp green note would take it towards more mainstream men's cologne. I'm liking it and very happy to have recieved a sample, but if you don't like dry leather, you should steer clear because that is a perfect description of this scent.

Thank you for the sample. What a wonderful surprise. And what a wonderful fragrance. There is so much going on in this one and it is unlike anything I have tried before. I wouldn't know where to begin to describe this. I do know that I love it. I can definitely get all the top notes at the opening, though I personally have no idea what a black current leaf smells like. I'll have to take some time with this one. I love it already, though. It's crisp, green, juicy, with a clean leather spine. I'm also dying to try Enchanted Forest as others have compared it to Fille en Aiguilles and Blackberry and Bay, both of which I adore. Thanks again for the sample. I highly recommend this beauty to others.

I get a slightly dry fruity leathery scent, mixed with some ashy spicy-ness along the lines of white ash in a still smoldering fire pit. The fruity-ness seems to turn more into a touch of something more sharp and woody-sweet after a while - I think it is oak wood or oak juice, which ever it is it's not for me. It starts off juicy, but later it also gets a lot drier. The smokey incense stuff comes in in the second half as well. I do like the ashy-ness in this and it feels like there is some heat like a little red coal still glowing down in there. I need to try this in the summer to see it when it comes alive.

From my sample. I get leather, tar and incense. It's very masculine. After about 10 minutes or so I can smell some earthy vegetation with the tar. I think of hard working men with grit and tenacity. I would have to layer this with a feminine scent to take the edginess off of this juice if I were to wear this out somewhere. This has a strong personality and I don't see it for daily use. I recommend a light touch with this bad boy or it'll knock you out! Pow! Update: After 6 hours the dry down smells almost identical to Drakkar Noir.

wanted so badly to love this bc 1) the bottle is incredible and i am a sucker for packaging and 2) the notes look to be right up my alley. it's not bad by any means, but it's unfortunately nothing groundbreaking. definitely leans masculine and there's a slight fougere quality to it, but it doesn't have a full-blown shaving cream vibe. also get the slight rubbery leather note the previous reviewer mentions, but beyond the opening it stays in the background and ultimately is just quite sweet and aromatic
