Swan Princess

A very elegant meditation on musk, opening as a bright, light, powdery white musk, volatile and fleeting. Following this, a clean, sweet floral musk appears, featuring iris and creamy violet notes, not metallic or dry, with no coppery or blood note. Eventually a heavy, deep musk begins to emerge that will last until drydown—and beyond. I wore this perfume fairly consistently for over a week, night and day, office and play. I discovered that it has an incredibly persistent musky drydown that leaves an impressive trail. This profound woody musk accord is heavy, sinking down, pooling at your feet, and leaving a fine wake. Despite this sense of molecular weight, it retains a powdery, soft, fluffy and enveloping vibe. Warm and sensual, on me this is a natural skin scent with a sweet, slightly smoky rose; It is interesting to follow the rosy notes as they morph from powdery to syrupy, a warm tupelo honey tinged rose. It seems to me that this too is created in part by the musk, a creamy, buttery, sweet musk with a rosy incense vibe. I get more iris than violet, and a completely non-indolic jasmine. A classically pretty floral accord builds, starting with a powdery violet, then iris, jasmine and finally settling on rose. I get no peony, which is a blessing as I am not always fond of peony. Very little mimosa to me, and not classic old school mimosa, more a modern mimosa, with a little sparkle. The Swan Princess clings to fabric, hair and skin, staying warm and slightly damp, and never turning dry or dusty. The first time I wore this I got a dose of powdery violet with just a touch of rose, but as I continued to wear it, day after day, I found that the violet receded while the rose became more dominant. I also applied less each day, finding that as time went by I became more sensitive to the musk accord, rather than fatigued. Deceptively complex, this is the ideal perfume for anyone wanting to explore musk, as it is built around musk but manages to feature all the other facets of musk: the honeyed rose, the powdery violet, with a little incense and a lot of wood on dry down. I have grown extremely fond of this fragrance, especially considering how rarely I wear any perfume for a week. I never tired of it, and frankly, I never completely understood the fragrance. I think I would need to wear it in different seasons to understand it fully, but for now I think it is easily my favorite musky perfume.

A very kind Fragrantican sent me a bottle of Swan Princess, and I am absolutely elated. I love everything about it, from the gorgeous Bavarian-style illustrations on the high-quality opaque ceramic bottle with its unbelievably heavy metal top, to the juice itself, which is a dreamy, dusky, iris-and-violet-forward powder bomb. I get the comparisons to Kenzo Flower, although Flower has more incense and smoke (and also rose). I might also pick up hints of Iris Poudre and Infusion d'Iris, which is not to say that Swan Princess is derivative, only that it can run with the big dogs in terms of quality and complexity. I don't expect to run out of this anytime soon (it's a 100-ml bottle), but when I do I could see buying another bottle, even at full price. It's enchanting--and perfectly named. Wear this if you feel like a Girl Lohengrin (or is that more of a me thing?). In all seriousness, I recommend this to anyone who loves vintage makeup accords and fragrances like the aforementioned or Chanel Misia EDT (my all-time favorite makeup scent). Update: It reminds me of Insolence, but a bit softer and less fruity--it's more dreamy than insolent. With the soft musks, it also reminds me a bit of Guerlain Musc Outreblanc, L'Instant Magic, and Chanel 1957. Although I enjoy the wood notes, I would mostly classify this one with the deliciously retro powder bombs. Wearing again, nearly a year later (November 2024), I continue to be surprised that this perfume doesn't have a higher rating. It deserves at LEAST a four; the downvotes must be from haters and competitors. I don't see how anyone could object to this pretty girl of a scent. But if I had to guess, I would guess that people go noseblind to the musks and assume the perfume has worn off long before it actually has. I tend to go noseblind to musks, too, on prolonged exposure. This has enough complexity with the other notes that it doesn't seem to disappear entirely, but the musks are of the silky, elusive variety (Guerlain Musc Outreblanc vibes). You might think they're gone, but you'll notice them on your laundry days later.

Swan Princess is in my opinion unfairly maligned, both here and on Basenotes. Whether I just lucked out and got the perfect formulation or other people's noses are discerning notes to which I am anosmic, I cannot say. I also cannot say whether I would have purchased it at its unabashedly expensive original price--probably not, but that's because I have other perfumes on my wish list, not to mention a very high-maintenance geriatric choxie who can run up a vet bill like you wouldn't believe. All that aside, I'm very glad to have this perfume, which reminds me of Chanel Comète (but with violet instead of cherry blossom) and Guerlain Musc Outreblanc (only woodier and less delicate--and I don't go anosmic to it within 10 or 15 minutes). I have decanted this for several friends, but no one in my perfume-enjoying circle seems to go for old-school aldehydic powderbombs-and-pencil-shavings formulas the way I do. I consider Swan Princess to be in the category of comfort scent: pillowy-musk protection against the jangle and stench of daily life. No, it's not particularly groundbreaking, but I'm past the point in life where I might want to assault anyone's nostrils with any unsettling, provocative, avant-garde odors. (No need to be offended, ELDO and Comme des Garçons fans--that just leaves more juice for you!) I wear Swan Princess when I want to smell discreetly clean and ladylike, subtly soap-kissed, blameless, immaculate. For me it serves the same function as Cacharel Anais Anais or Noa at the low end or Chanel 1957 or Comète or Guerlain Musc Outreblanc at the high end: to prolong the sensation of comfort and cleanliness as long as possible post-shower. With Swan Princess, though, it's like you scrubbed yourself clean with a very luxuriant and long-lasting soap and then pulled out the softest, cleanest white-cotton nightgown from a cedar chest. It always makes me think of the magical grandmother's enchanted baths in George MacDonald's The Princess and the Goblin.

Now that I had the chance to smell all three fragrances produced by The Vagabond Prince I can tell they all seem to have something magical in them, as if they are made in a fairy tale land. Different from one another, but still having the same ability to drag you away from your urban rutine, to make you leave everything aside and start relaxing, dreaming and feel special. Swan Princess is the most feminine of them and it actually exceedes the level of feminine found in many other perfumes too. The official notes cannot reveal it`s complexity so you have to test it for yourself, to sniff it the entire day to see how much it transforms itself in contact with your skin. On me I get a very intense note of iris, it is huge and sweetened by a dose of mimosa. It becames creamy and softer in time. I also feel the presence of other flowers, like heliotrope-mon-amour (that reminds me a bit of my Teint de Neige), violets and a sugared rose, but none of these flowers overshadows the royal iris. Though, I cannot name it a soliflor perfume,but a huge bouquet of flowers that happen to have the most fragrant and lovely iris in the middle. And the bottle...is a real gem, pleasent to hold in hand and look at, with that beautiful painted belt in russian folclore style Permogorka. I think it will soon become a well known and loved perfume, especially by people who adore iris based scents, because it gives you another take on this special note. The delicate and feminine Swan Princess will steal everyones heart, so be prepared...

Yet another winner of Fragrantica & The Vagabond Prince's awesome giveaway present and accounted for! It opens with very subtle aldehydes, tastefully done. I don't detect pink pepper, myself. I do get a powdery, cool iris from the beginning. It's light and lovely, not bitter the way iris can often be, perhaps because of the softly sweet mimosa in combination with it. The effect is soft, lovely and romantic. It's fit for a grownup princess. As it evolves it grows muskier and the iris, rose and sandalwood notes alternate in strength. I love fragrances like this, their only downfall being that their powdery soft muskiness causes them to sit very close to the skin. This leaves very little trail even immediately upon application. It lasts over 12 hours on me, but I have to put my nose to my wrist to enjoy it. It might have better silage with a spray version. I'm probably the only one who will think this, but this reminds me of Onde Extase by Armani, a now discontinued fragrance that another Fragrantica member introduced me to and that I love. They do share a few notes in common that result in a powdery sweet mimosa. I slightly prefer the toasted rice edge of Onde Extase, but possibly purely for sentimental reasons. I can't see myself buying a bottle of this when there are other perfumes that I love that have a similar effect for a much lower price. But I'm very, very impressed and I can't wait to see what other fairytale like scents The Vagabond Prince comes up with.

This is an exceptionally beautiful fragrance. I tested Swan Princess in London @ Jovoy perfumery - the only one that stocks the Vagabond Prince brand. Given the official description, I expected Swan Princess to be very musky; but actually it is more floral and powdery. It smells like a combination of Dior Pure Poison and Narciso EDP (the white cube)! Even the bottle of Swan Princess somewhat resembles Pure Poison. Initially the strongest notes are iris, lily-of-the-valley, mimosa and peony, and only after a few hours a beautiful, creamy musk prevails. Have no worries about the presence of the aldehydes, because they’re rather discreet and not shrill. For such a gentle, pleasant fragrance, Swan Princess projects outstandingly and lasts for 8+ hours. It is not exactly affordable, but not too expensive either - £180 for a 100ml bottle is cheaper than any Creed, or Kilian, or Frederic Malle, while offering the same quality and sophistication. I didn’t purchase it on the spot because I had already spent my springtime fragrance budget on Parfums Quartana Poppy Soma, Zoologist Hummingbird and Diptyque Do Son; however, I have added Swan Princess to my small wish list and I will definitely buy it the next time I visit London.

First, thank you dear Fragrantica for the generous sample! Second, after wearing the sample a few times, I want you to know that I collapsed into a smiling, sighing, mound of fluff. White feather boa fluff (usually made of ostrich feathers rather than swan, but you get the idea). Soft, sweet, musky white feather boa fluff with a hint of powder (but NOT baby powder). In short, I just had to get one, as I cannot resist the call and the power of the fluff. I think of young ballerinas when I wear this. I think of pink ballet shoes, and Swan Lake. I agree with Drugstore Classics' review in which she states that Swan Princess feels like it could be a Guerlain. One of my first impressions of Swan Princess had me thinking similarly, that it could be a cousin to Guerlains like Apres l'Ondee, or even French Kiss (but without the berry notes). Also, the bottle and the box for Swan Princess are works of art in their own right. I am very happy to support a new fragrance house (I gave a lot of money to Guerlain in 2014, oy). I look forward to experiencing future creations from The Vagabond Prince! This is gorgeous!

Gorgeous modern super powdery non-sweet floral. I love it because it's not too sweet (looking at YOU, Lipstick Rose!), heavy (Kenzo Flower), or musty (Teint d' Neige). It's actually not sweet at all. To those making comparisons to Kenzo Flower, I see where you're coming from but I don't agree. Flower has a tangy, non-gourmand sugary vanilla element which when combined with the powder makes the perfume heavy and stuffy, like floral volcanic ash. Swan Princess on the other hand is fluffy, delicate, and fortunately vanilla-free. It also smells like cool, high end face cream. The far dry down contains something heavily woody represented as vetiver (identical to the vetiver in Elie Saab edt) but not enough to agitate the senses. I have to smash my nose to my wrist to detect the woody notes at all. Longevity is excellent. Smells diving in cold weather. TLDR: A frozen winter cloud made from the lightest, silkiest creamy cold makeup powder, sparkling and angelic. Gentle, pristine, and one of the more enjoyable modern powder perfumes I've known. Contains some intensity of wood in base notes.

I was very fortunate to win a bottle of this in the recent Fragrantica competition. Im still reeling with the shock of my good fortune. Many thanks Fragrantica. Well, its all that I was hoping for and more. Yes, the cool notes of iris and mimosa are very evident on the opening. Im very sensitive to musk and thankfully this remains low key. I can understand the comments regarding a similarity with Chanel No5 which actually has more kick from the aldehydes whilst this is warmer and creamier. If you cant get on with the Chanel classic then this could be a much more accessible version of it. I definitely pick out the rose to provide sweetness along with the notes of lily of the valley and gardenia which add a brightness. It really does smell cool, soft and downy like a swans plummage. A vision of the swan ballerinas gracefully prancing across the stage in the latest production of Swan Lake pops up in my minds eye. Its easy to tell that good quality materials have been used here. This is no pedestrian sugary celeb fragrance but a beauty befitting an exquisite principal ballerina.

This scent is like catnip. It's impossible to stop smelling your wrists after putting it on. It feels like white magic. Picture a frosty, cold morning in December. Gentle streaks of sunlight swimming on the surface of the snow. There's nowhere to be and your mind is free from pressure. Everything is still and the air suddenly feels so cold it's almost getting heavy to breathe. The luminous beauty of this fragrance brings warmth to that feeling of frozen tranquility, and the smell is so exquisite it leaves a trace of melancholy in your mind. The Swan Princess is the perfect name for this perfume. I am generally more fond of heavy perfumes with smoke and leather, but smelling like this makes me feel like I am delicate, approachable and safe to be around, and yet at the same time, it feels alluring and sensual. It is such a pleasant combination of emotions, and no other perfume has made me feel this way in a long while. The Director's Cut version of This Woman's Work by Kate Bush suits the ethereal nature of this fragrance like the missing piece of a puzzle.

So at first I was just going to just give a review based on the scent, but now that I'm looking at the notes above I can pick them out. At first application I get the greenish peppery note, it is blended really well with the aldehydes though, so it come across as a powdery-spicy note on my skin, Almost like the pepperiness of nasturtium. As the Swan princess develops though the pepperiness fades off and I can really smell the floral notes, with a stronger emphasis on the iris. the powdery notes in the middle I think can be accounted to both the iris and mimosa, they are really lovely together. to me this is a warm comforting fragrance, elegant and like wearing a vintage off white or pale violet satin dress. The base is the icing on the cake it is slightly woody and sweet- not cloying at all, I think the sandalwood tempers the sweetness of the musk and just gives it a vibe of sitting on a picnic blanket in late spring reading a book under a tree.

Swan Princess is just as lovely as the bottle it is housed in. It is all at once delicate, complex, soft, and creamy. This perfume is like a winter floral bouquet. The top notes struck me as a bit sharp or crisp, so I was not surprised to see aldehydes. What followed was intense mimosa coupled with powdery iris. I have never experienced powdery mimosa before, and I enjoyed it very much. The bouquet is studded with pink baby roses and sprigs of fresh, verdant muguet. There is a deliciously creamy base, seemingly a mix of vanilla, white musk, and buttery gardenia, leaving an olfactory impression of the velvety froth that tops a mug of steamed milk with vanilla syrup. Not only is this the perfect perfume for a Swan Princess, it would also make a memorable perfume for a bride. It is elegant and also youthful. It is fabulous. Powder lovers must try this.

This might actually be the first time I am reviewing a perfume that is completely accurate with the notes and the stages they peek through. Upon initial application I get the strong bergamot, pink pepper and aldehydes. Then as the fragrance settles the middle notes peek through. The Iris is strong and all the other florals are also in the background. Rose also makes an appearance without being one of those overwhelming rose presence. These middle notes hang around for a good bit with the musk showing up about 10 minutes in. My opinion of this is that it's a gorgeous well done fragrance. I normally don't jump into florals but I would certainly wear this without hesitation. It's a closer to the skin scent and I think would be beautiful in the spring. I think this is an ageless scent without limits it would work well for anyone.

Swan Princess is an aptly named perfume. Last night I wore it for the third time and found myself enrobed in a shimmering, delicate cloud of powdery florals and musk. The quality of the ingredients is immediately obvious, if you're looking for a standout iris and mimosa blend this is it. Aldehydes and pink pepper lift the fragrance and help the composition feel transparent and modern rather than melancholy, leaden and gray as so many iris centric perfumes seem to feel. The drydown has a distinctly Duchaufour base of hazy woods surrounded by the same soft white accords of the opening. The overall effect is delicate but strong: like a beautiful dress with an immaculately boned corset and a skirt made from many layers of ethereal, shimmering tulle. Gorgeous.

I am a vintage perfume lover, and I came on here to tell I love swan princess with all my heart. I have written a review about this perfume before, but I am here to tell you this is the epitome of classic beauty and loveliness to the fullest. My God how beautiful is this? I would rate it up there with classic Guerlain and Chanel it's that good. Like a vintage swans down puff at its finest and loveliest. My opinion of a really exquisite perfume is if it touches my heart that is something special. I love this perfume with all my heart. Like a snowstorm of the most exquisite snowflakes all unique. a Winter fragrance. This is everything that is so fine...a delicate teacup with hand painted violets, powderpuff's on a vintage dressing table...

This is my favorite Valentine's Day perfume...It was a very special gift from last Feb 14th. For me this is one of those 'perfect perfumes' where the scent perfectly matches the packaging, which is stunning, by the way, and has decent longevity and sillage. Not to forget the beautiful name... The Swan Princess. One spray on your wrist, close your eyes and she blossoms into a powdery dream in a cloud of mist and fog, high up in a castle in a mystical forest. She is dripping in silver shimmering musky iris blooms with violet accords. Sandalwood adorns her vanity, pure and simple. This floral concoction lingers as she dances on the icy pond, irises frosty silver sparkling...yes this is right out of a Winter romantic fairytale...beautiful

Ahhh I knew I'd love this one. Well I like powdery/musky/iris/mimosa scents in general so this might not be a surprise but this a great one. It's one for the cold. Waiting for those freezing temperature in NY next week to fully experience this one :) It's quite long lasting and that bottle with russian inspired art is beautiful. The bottle is of top quality. It's impressive. I agree on comparison with Kenzo Flower but this one is less sweet, less smokey and has the aldehydes (even though they are not really strong here). It's like... a frozen Kenzo Flower. If I had to stick to one type of perfume that would be classics/retro powdery ones in general ... so this one is a keeper for sure. My new go-to cold temperature fragrance.

This fragrance smells in one word - Romantic. I am not talking about sexy. I am talking about the courtship and falling in love part of a relationship. It is delicate, yet warm and musky. Very well blended, yet I can pick up all the ingredients at some point. It is like that deep breath you take once you know you have given your heart to someone and they have given you theirs in return. It is neither female nor male, but both. Doesn't slap you in the face, but you know it is there. Makes me think of taking a sleigh ride, under the moonlight on snow, covered in furs and blankets, snuggling with my true love. And love my friends is not for just female or male, but both.

I recently won a sample pack of Vagabond Prince perfumes, including Swan Princess. It does smell a great deal like Chanel, except that Swan Princess actually works on my skin, instead of turning to full-on aldehydes. This is a soft scent, feminine but not sweet. It is old-fashioned in a wonderful way, powdery and mysterious with a slightly dirty animalic side that surprised me (although, since we are dealing with the legend of a swan who can transform into a lovely lady, I suppose it makes sense!). Sillage and longevity are both good but not overpowering. I love Swan Princess. It is a very romantic fragrance.

Swan Princess is special to my nose as it brings me back to Italy, about 8 years ago. It smells nice, flowers with sweet powdery notes. Normally I would associate it with a grandma smell, but this fragrance is balanced really well, I do like it. Otherwise, if I didn't associate it with Italy, I would say it is quite average, especially because it feels like I smelled it 8 years ago, this came out 3 years ago. Added to that, the price tag is way too high as well, for what you're getting. I think it's worth trying out, but I would not get a bottle of this.

This soft dreamy perfume is so lovely. It does remind me of Flower, but the aldehydes and iris elevate Swan Princess and steer it away from baby powder territory. It's unapologetically feminine, violet and mimosa shrouded by layers of expensive smelling musks. The violet is nicely done here, breezy and fresh, but slightly candied and blended beautifully with a mild, creamy gardenia. Swan Princess would be an easy reach in spring, but I would reach for it in winter and find comfort in this plush floral musk.

A gorgeous, thick, icy white braid of multiple musks, powdery notes, lipstick Iris and polleny mimosa. The braid wraps around you and surrounds you in plush, cushiony comfort when you wear this. Swan princess manages to be dense but floaty at the same time, and is very girly, in the best possible way. This feels akin to some of the great aldehydic classics but it also feels modern. This perfume should be worn by Elsa when she’s living in her ice castle. Moderate sillage and 6-8 hour duration on skin.

Beautiful peppery mimosa, iris and rose that grows deeper and richer as the hours pass. I smell violet in the mix as well. The pepper and woods keep this from being too sweet or light and jasmine rounds it out. The first time I tried Swan Princess I thought it too powdery, but now I love it. It is so soft, beautiful and feminine. I think Cinderella's fairy godmother would wear this fragrance.

Such a great fragrance! Ive tried out quite a few powdery scents and though I love the smell, none have been as balanced as this one. Its not only delicate and powdery, but also sweet (I get a bit of fruit on my skin) and musk. I wore this the other day and recieved many compliments. Even from people that are sensitive to ftagrance.

Smells very much like Ellen Tracy Bronze; which can be had for a quarter of the price. Does not smell at all like Guerlain Insolence Eau Glacee. Similar to Balenciaga but not as much as Bronze. Lovely bottle and delicious, delightful fragrance. A love for me.

Powdery, delicate, feminine soft and luscious. I adore it. All iris and musk and softness. It smells modern, yet classic, and somehow timeless, like a fairy tale itself.

I would suggest very cold weather and spray. We did not have spray samples before, now we have them ;o) It is easy to overdose with spray though...

A little bit softer and more delicate version od Guerlain L'Instant eau de toilette. Loving this! Such a romantic and angelic scent.

I have been given the most lovely sample of Swan Princess, by the dear people here at Fragrantica. It arrived today!!! Packaging is not merely conceptually pleasing, but exquisite. I am not exaggerating. And I want to give the creators full credit for doing a top notch job. Everything, from the art to the notes, is obviously constructed with great care and LOVE. Yes, it shows! I will need some further time to get acquainted with Swan Princess, but my first impressions are already memorable - in the best possible way. She is well named, and perfectly represented by the packaging. Nothing could be more evocative of the scent than this artwork and color pallet! I feel confident and happy to say that Fragrantica has brought us a true beauty. She is ethereal and yet memorable, redolent of old fashioned makeup and elusive charm. For me, the notes pink pepper and peony are seldom winning, but here the pink pepper vanishes within the first few minutes and the peony is so perfectly layered in soft musk and florals that I cannot in any way object. It has a dreamy and almost creamy feel, evoking old AND new fragrance memories. Best of all? The sheer QUALITY of this fragrance.....ahhhhh. Highly recommended!

I decided to wear my sample today, and quite frankly, enjoyed the ever changing wafts as the day has gone on. The scent carries an expensive light powdery scent throughout the day as wafts of iris and vetiver intertwine. In the beginning I get the aldehydes, iris, and powder. The middle was very interesting. It smelled of citrus and woods with the vetiver and powder very light in the background. Right now in the drydown, I smell the musk and the vetiver the strongest. I enjoyed wearing this. This scent is the type of scent I picture a person wearing to an opera, or a ball, or some event where you would wear your expensive jewelry and a gown. I hated powdery scents, and this one broke that hatred, I like the vetiver mixed with the powder, so the scent is not too soapy. Silliage was not overpowering, but anytime I moved my wrists I smelled the fragrance. I have had it on since for about 5 hours and I can still smell it on my wrists, which is excellent for a perfume considering I take thyroid medicine which eats smells. I definitely will be adding swan princess to my collection. PS thank you fragrantica for my sample pure enjoyment!!

I was happily gifted a sample of this along with a few others from Fragrantica. I just adore the name, as it conjures up such romantic imagery in my mind. Initially this hits hard in the floral's, almost shrill, I think due to the aldehyde lift. Sometimes those can give me headaches and I was honestly a bit worried, as I applied quite a bit. My first thought associated this with Marchesa Perfume-d-Extase in that respect,(the strong violet note and intensity) even though there are no aldehydes in Marchesa, it just felt quite similar.But Swan became much different as it progressed on my skin, the pink pepper and rose and musk made their majestic presence known in a hauntingly beautiful fashion. This scent really does becomes more gorgeous as it develops, is addictive to my nose and also is impressively strong and long lasting. I thoroughly enjoy this creation and am grateful to have even the little bit I do have for now. This is the perfume fit for a princess (or a prince).

For me, The Swan Princess opens as a softer version of Balenciaga Paris. I know, I know, the two don't share a single note and yet here I sit enjoying the immediate and undeniable similarity. The similarity didn't last...and that's just fine. I expected a little magic in this fragrant fairytale. Pink pepper, which is sometimes off putting for me is strangely appealing here, reminding me of violet, of all things. Maybe it is violet or violet leaf. The musk didn't show up on my skin until later for me, much later. It went hand and hand with a muted white floral creaminess. The soft white imagery fits perfectly. The iris is delicate, gentle, powdery and above all else, pretty. Mimose is elusive for me here. The day after on my clothes, I don't even recognize the fragrance that lifted off my skin just the day before. I did finally find the mimose. Hmm....the spell may be broken, but the magic lingers. Maybe Bertrand Duchaufour is a sorcerer. I'm certainly enchanted :)

I, too, received my free sample. Thank you! The top is very romantic to me, mostly iris. It's floral but not girly. It has a backbone. As time goes by it tells a brief tale of freshness and citrus that I usually associate with top notes, but there they were, sparkling after some time had passed. After a few hours it was mostly aldehydic, which I like. I don't pick up on as much musk as some of you. I regard this as successful. Sometimes I play a little game with myself when considering a fragrance, and ask, if I were blindfolded and someone sat down next to me, and this is how they smelled, who would I imagine them to be? Do I like this person? I do! I like this person very much. And she is a SHE. She is stimulating and intelligent and has a happy vibe going on.

Oh my goodness! First impression: this is perfection. Gorgeous fresh flowers in a creamy, powdery swirl. Clean, but so inviting and feminine with an expensive make-up feel to it. The mimosa is bright and mood lifting while the iris and musk feel all cosy and snuggly. I can smell a very fresh rose too, but the flowers are all blended into a wonderful bouquet that I just want to sink my nose into. This makes me think of Disney's Cinderella singing, "So This is Love", while she dances around her room. Very dreamy and exactly what I've been looking for lately. I love the name & the bottle, they fit the scent perfectly! I must start saving up for this! Edit: The drydown has a very strong rubbing alcohol smell which isn't so nice.

I like it! I think this is a very accessible perfume. It's not heady at all, very soft and a bit sweet. It has some freshness to it. To me it smells like what the bottle looks like: Light, sweet without being cloying and very pretty, in a conventional way. Even though it probably has a lot of mass appeal, I don't think it's a scent you could find in any store. I may add that I've only tried it out during one whole day. Thus far I have no complaints about it. It's not something I would ever buy a full sizes bottle of, considering the price, but I wouldn't mind wearing it if I would be given a bottle. It's nice! It's something you could wear out without offending people. However, this also makes it a bit boring. 6,5/10.

If I had to guess the brief for this one, it was to create an updated version of a traditional aldehydic floral or to make a wedding scent. This has a scent DNA like an updated Chanel #5 but softer and less aldehydes. A slightly vanity smelling but formal scent, violet, iris powder, musk, warmth. Not too heady for an aldehydic scent, in fact, almost unobtrusive. Pleasant, cool, expensive smelling update on a traditional perfume composition. At the same this type of aldehyde floral scent is still struggling to recover popularity after decades of 20th century overuse. Smells very mature

This does remind me of No.19 of old (the old edt) and that's not an easy feat/vibe, but maybe that's not what the perfumer was going for. My opinion is from a sample only; I've had it for close to a year and my opinion hasn't changed. It's worth it based on the 19 similarity alone, imo. I don't think it's an easy wear, you need to appreciate a classic.

Call me crazy, but I don't dislike this perfume! It's a nicely rounded floral scent. I find the pink pepper to be a little off-putting, however. This is a cool, crisp floral. I don't know that it's worth the $200 for 100 ml bottle, but I've enjoyed my free sample.

the thing about swan princess is that she's grown on me quite a bit... she is such a pretty powderpuff of a perfume! makes me feel like i'm in the barbie movies from the early 2000s—pastel hues and princesses. super nostalgic and so very dreamy

Nice, soft, and powdery. I don't get sharpness or old lady powder from the aldehydes, I get mostly Iris and then mimosa, not to fond of gardenia, but it did not make me dislike it. The name fists perfectly.

Powdery (hello mimosa and Iris) and sharp in the opening (hello aldehydes). Essentially a vintage white floral scent over a musk base. This reminds me of the sales associates at Nordstrom waiting to spritz the next passerby. I don’t dislike Swan Princess but it’s not a type of perfume I would voluntarily wear.

Mmm, I have been dying to try this fragrance for SO long as it sat on my 'want' list! Thank you to those at The Vagabond Prince + Fragrantica for the giveaway/sample! It truly did not disappoint, and this lovely little bottle remains on my want list! As said previously, for a powder collector, this is a nice addition to any wardrobe! Swan Princess is a "white" fragrance, simultaneously cool, clean, fresh, and serene. I would categorize this as a light, powdery musk, as opposed to a heavy "makeup-powder" scent! All-season, all-occasion, all-ages; could definitely make a really wonderful signature scent! The description paragraph above says it all - truly this is a delicate little scent, polite & sophisticated, while being ladylike and ever feminine. The initial spray to drydown is fairly linear, but full of different nuances. The florals I get in this are primarily a light/sweet iris, non-aquatic peony & subdued rose - none of the gardenia or jasmine. The pink pepper is hiding in the background of the scent, nothing suffocating or masculine. This wears very, very soft after the drydown! Very much the opposite of "Enchanted Forest" from the same house, which was a HUGE scent! A try-before-you-buy because of the price, but at the same time, also a very safe scent! Hoping a full bottle is in the cards for me, sometime! Happy sniffing everyone! EDIT: There is sooooooooooooooooooooo much vetiver/sandalwood in the drydown, and that part of this scent is IMPOSSIBLE TO WASH OFF!!!!!!!!!! I seriously could smell this for 24 hours & it was ridiculously hard to get rid of. I'm not a particularly big fan of the listed basenote combo here, so that was one negative side of this scent for me.

I am a huge fan of Enchanted Forest so I had high expectations for this when I won a sample. First thing is first...the performance is stellar. From the projection to sillage to longevity i get no problems with my little sample. I've been sampling this everyday for a week now and I must say I absolutely hate Swan Princess. All I get from this is fresh diapers or a high end Johnson & Johnson baby powder. I'll even go as far as to say that this is the most powdery perfume ive ever tried. This is a huge pass for me unfortunately. I had a very elegant and serene smell that i had in mind when i read the notes. But all I got was diapers and baby powder on my skin. If you wanted to ever like those two things I noted....Swan Princess should be on the top of your list cuz this is a disaster on my skin!

Received my samples today, thanks again!..Ok so I spritzed this on my wrist first beings I already knew what the others smelled like.. *HUGE BLAST OF FLORAL & MUSK* kinda sharp to my nose, as it settled I deff. got the Kenzo 'Flower' comparison.. sadly I'm not a huge fan of flower so can't say I really cared too much for this either.. :/ It's a shame b/c I actually really do like Iris and Musks in scents but I just can't get past the Kenzo vibe now..no doubt the quality is there I'm sure this would last for hours on end..but this was a bit of a scrubber for me..haven't had the chance to sample Bass Solo yet..(not sure if I was suppose to receive one with the other samples??) but thus far Enchanted Forest still remains my fav. from the line..perhaps my mom will like the sample of this..

Thanks for the opportunity to sample this! This is a very sweet, feminine, pepper and musk fragrance on my skin. And you have to take into consideration that this review is coming from someone who does not like sweet gourmand fragrances and whose skin really tends to magnify musk. Very sweet and strong for about the first hour. The citric top notes and the pink pepper are there, and then the pepper begins to magnify as the perfume wears on. I get jasmine and iris as the two dominant florals, but on my skin the musk and the pepper end up being the two biggest notes after awhile. Not for me, but I could see it for someone who likes sweet musk perfumes.

It is funny to be a princess for a guy, definitely carries the meaning))). Name came from Russian fairy tales and this white bottle should be marketed for women, may be it smells unisex, but I guess they want to get as many customers of any gender as possible. Same thing goes for Warrior perfume, watch out ladies, don't get too militant))) Also I would call it Tsarina Swan, sounds better and original, now every body uses Princess word, if you want to be unique, exotic and Russia do that.

Thank you so much for the generous sample! This is a delicate and indeed very feminine fragrance. In the opening I smell violet...it might be the iris; a lovely but all too fugitive note. There is also a timid rose that quickly fades away. Pretty soon the musks take over, and they stay until the end. I'd wish I could smell more sandalwood. There is a hint of vetiver, but the musks overpower the middle notes as well as the dry down. For musk lovers this is perfection. Thank you again.

Review is of a free sample -- many thanks! Swan Princess has some lovely creamy-floral-musky moments. However there are some jarringly synthetic moments interrupting the enjoyable ones: occasional whiffs of Iso E Super and a white floral note with a petroleum tinge.(The Iso E is not going to bother most people; I'm in the minority that dislikes the note.) Unfortunately these keep the fragrance out of the range of a like for me. My search for a perfect iris continues...

It is a shame that the money spent on their amazing bottles doesn't translate to their perfumes. I have not found anything outstanding in this perfume, and found it so unmemorable that I forgot what it smelled like an hour after I put it on. This was also the same amount of time the scent disappeared. The bottles are spectacular, their scents, not so much.
