Seitho

I learned about Seitho on Facebook and love this fragrance. I can see myself wearing this year-round. When I found out that Jakki Kerubo is a novice niche perfumer, I decided to contact her directly to request more information on her perfumes. She was very responsive and engaging. Following our conversation, I bought the sample vials. Seitho is a unisex fragrance. I sprayed it on my husband's wrist, and he said he could see himself wearing it. Longevity and sillage are moderate on me, but it seems to last longer on my husband's skin. Seitho performs even better on clothing. I walked out of the room, and when I came back, I could still smell its clean, lovely scent. Bergamot, neroli, sweet orange, and grapefruit are the top notes that stand out the most to me in the opening. Within 7-10 minutes of the fragrance settling, I can smell the Ylang Ylang, Star Anise, bits of ginger, and a touch of rose. The dry-down is clean and spicy-- I can smell the frankincense, cedar, and vetiver. The frankincense note is beautifully done because it's not over-powering and lends a warm finish to a clean, citrusy, woody, floral, spicy, well-balanced scent. I started loving niche perfumes about two years ago. They are complex, strong, pricey, and not easy to adjust to for a beginner. But I can see why many move away from mainstream perfumes (which all start to smell the same) after experiencing niche frags. I don't own anything that smells like Seitho, which makes me happy. I balked at the price of the Seitho sample vial, which runs at $20. The other sample niche perfume vials I've received cost $10, but are slightly less than half the size of Seitho. So Seitho's price-point makes sense. It's getting close to two months, and I'm barely halfway done with my sample vial, so I'm getting my money's worth. I purchased the full-size bottle not long after, and it's all I've been wearing (and her other fragrance as well). Given the cost, I do not recommend buying a full-size bottle before trying the sample (since this will be a blind-buy), because niche perfumes are not for everyone. Personally, this will be a repeat purchase.
