Stratix

This scent was inspired by the smell of the soles of the perfumer's hiking boots after a long walk in the forest, mixed with some lemon verbena that was inspired by the post-hike electrolyte drink that he was drinking. At first spray of this very oily fragrance I mostly just felt a lot of cypriol (which I'm not a very big fan of) and lemon verbena, together forming a strange soapy scent. I'm glad I waited a little though, because after a while the perfume really started to show what it was all about and the forest started to open up. In one moment I get a lot of pine, wood, oud, and leather, and in another moment I get a lot of amber (real amber, not the accord), carnation, and musk. It's very much a perfume that feels "alive"! The pine and wood style reminds me of Caron Yatagan (1978) and the carnation and amber reminds me of 70s/80s Hermès, like Equipage (1970) and Bel Ami (1986). This kept going for the many hours the oil was on my skin. Even after showering, I could feel it slightly. Definitely filled with naturals and a very interesting vision. I think this is great for sunny but slightly chilly fall and spring days.

This was my favourite from TWIS line that I sampled and probably the only one that I would purchase a full bottle of. With that, I wasn't overly impressed enough to do so. This is a woody fragrance with a floral touch, the carnation is quite noticeable and is accompanied by oud, cedar, patchouli. Longevity was around 8 hours+ on my skin, which is quite good for me. Sillage was moderate. Make sure you try before you buy. 7/10
