Lemon Tart

People need to STOP comparing this to devotion and/or bake and/or Lira. Ugh! Sheeple! Just stop. Ya’ll need to start practicing training your nose. It’s got citrus and sweet notes. Yuuuup! That’s literally the only similarities! Doesn’t mean that they smell anything alike. And NO, people will not confuse the two when they smell you. Now to my opinion.... This has got to be one of the most synthetic, smelling frags I’ve ever encountered . More so than any BBW frag I’ve ever smelt. But weirdly I freaking love it. People compare this to a buttery lemon pastry? I would say in the interpretive (but not the literal) sense.... contrary to what other reviewer‘s are saying. It smells buttery and lemony and sweet...(almost butterscotch-y to my nose), but in a very synthetic way imo. My favorite part about this fragrance is it stays pretty linear (A rarity for a lemon gourmand, and something you WONT find in devotion or lira). again, something I find contrary to what other reviewers are saying. The descriptive words A4 mentioned would make you think that this is a fun whimsical nostalgic gourmand, but I actually find it to be very complex. The scent cloud in the dry down introduces this SLIGHTLY: sharp, smoky, incensey, dirty, tart note that I can’t quite pinpoint (this must be the Tartine? Never smelled that note b4 so I’m assuming that’s what it is). It kind of gives it an intriguing nuanced, complexity (kind of in a bal d’afrique way, but this is obviously very gourmand, & more whimsical). I’ll be honest... most of my friends and family think it smells weird and unappealing. I definitely wouldn’t wear it on a date if you’re trying to be sexy and alluring. I mainly wear it for my own comfort and pleasure (aka..fragrance therapy). I also find the projection and longevity to be pretty solid! (once again, contrary, to what other reviewers are saying.) But I live at a super high altitude in a very dry climate (so perhaps that’s why I have a better experience?) Scent - 9/10 Sillage - 8/10 Longevity - 8/10 Unique - 9/10 Price - 6/10 — I will definitely savor and enjoy this while it lasts so in that regard, it’s worth the price. But not really a staple fragrance thus would not buy it again once it’s empty.

I would consider this a summer gourmand. I usually don’t wear gourmands at all during hotter months but I can pull this off since it has an airy feel to it. It starts off with a bright lemon curd/custard scent, supported by a dry pastry accord in the background. Some ppl may interpret that pastry accord as plain butter biscuits. Does not transform too much in the dry down, except the lemon note does become softer. As for sillage, this sits close to the skin, but never feels sticky or sickly sweet. I actually prefer that since lemon gourmands can easily be overwhelming (especially if you’re gonna be in a stuffy room/transportation full of people). Clings better on clothes. After an 8hr shift I can still smell it on my sweater. Overall a pleasant light gourmand and relatively crowd pleasing. This is better than the recent release of Akro Bake. That one smells like straight up lemon floor cleaner and burnt sugar. How this compares to Lira: Lira has a bit more spices among other notes that make it more complex, and i wouldn’t wear that during the summer. The caramel makes Lira too decadent and heavy for warm weather. How this compares to Unknown Pleasures: This one has a sharper citrus compared to the other 2. The lemon note on this never really softens on my skin, and mixed with the tea note + bergamot, it’s too acidic, it gave me a headache after a while.

Theodoros delivers again. This gives me the same feeling I get with Coffee Addict, Velvet Chocolate and Alluring Fig. It is exactly what it promises; nothing more, nothing less. Smells like lemon curd with a dash of cream infused (a la Philosophy’s fresh cream but far less lactonic) and buttery pastry. Like you’ve just bitten into the most delicious lemon tart and it’s giving you all the feels. The lemon is zingy and bright and doesn’t give off lemon cleaner at all. This is a gourmand in the truest sense, but the sweetness here isn’t cloying or overbearing. Compared to Lira and co., this is a literal interpretation rather than deep/complex/spicy/transformative scent. On me, the lemon blast at the top tames after about an hour or two and the pastry aspect takes center stage (the lemon is still there throughout though). Projection is good for this duration too, thereafter sitting closer to the skin. I got about 8hrs wear - 2 projection, 4 scent bubble and then it starts to gradually fade) but if I turn my head I still get whiffs of it. I did overspray though. But for the fabulous price of this little gem in a gluttonous world of obscenely priced fancy water, I don’t mind. A guilty pleasure without the calories (or debt).

This perfume threw me on my tuchus. I ordered a full bottle within 10 minutes of wearing it. The impression of lemon sugar cookie was so photorealistic, I decided I didn’t care what it performed like (actually could last longer 😭). Almost broke my neck running to write a review, then decided to wait so I could write about the longevity (or lack there of!). I didn’t go ham but I didn’t even get an hour spraying on pulse points, sans clothes and hair. It’s affordable, relative to my collection, so I’m willing to tolerate the lack of longevity. I figure if you’re the type of person that can stand to respray any of the Sol de Janeiro body sprays or I Do by Anthropologie (😍), you can respray this. It shows self-awareness to have it priced at this range. This is also my first fragrance featuring butter. It did not disappoint and I think it’s a good example of perfume range.

Another photorealistic gourmand from Theodoros Kalotinis, in all its yummy goodness. Opens with a very lemony blast, full on citrus like lemon zest, not that sweet in the beginning. Then as it starts warming up, I can smell the buttery biscuity base, the vanilla and the sugar. It really smells how a lemon tart bite tastes. Unfortunately, the lemon only stays on my skin for literally just a bit more than 1 hour (timed it) and then it becomes a vanilla biscuit-like skin scent with no projection. I had really high hopes for it and would definitely purchase a full bottle if it performed better... I might still get one because I like it so much. Get this if you want to smell like you just walked out of a bakery.

I own Lira, Akro Bake, and now Lemon Tart by Theodoros Kalotinis. Lira leans more toward a spicy lemon cake, with heavy licorice and spices that take away its gourmand appeal. Akro Bake is a bright, zesty lemon tart sprinkled with sugar—a favorite of mine for its freshness. Lemon Tart, however, is in a league of its own. It smells exactly like a rich lemon curd dessert—creamy, buttery, and sugary, without any synthetic or “cleaning product” undertones. Considering its price and quality, this is hands-down my favorite lemon gourmand! I got a compliment the first time wearing it. Longevity is about 6 hours and projection is moderate.

I avoid perfume with citrus scent as it usually ends up smelling like air freshener but this want is different; it does open up with realistic citrus, lemon scent but with some crust notes in it. imagine citrus pie or those cookies with lemon toping. the only con is longevity; it last maybe 2-3 hrs before turning to skin scent. silage is great I filled up my room with this perfume, my sis came from bathroom and immediately asked what smelled so nice. my favorite still remains coffee addict but I must say that this is runner up and perfect for summer heats with 32 degrees outside

This is such a treat to wear. I really pick up on that buttery note which I absolutely love smelling like a baked treat. I found it wore all night on my skin, I did test it on the inside of my elbow area so maybe it wears better in that spot? I'm realizing I really fancy lemony notes. On my next perfume order I'll order a bottle of this too. It's incredibly affordable, you can't beat $75(CAD). I'm a big lover of Lira but can't bring myself to buy a bottle as it's a bit pricy for such a short wearing time. This will help fill the Lira shaped void.

this is everything i wanted lira to be - and i like lira! well, not everything - the longevity still leaves a lot to be desired, but it's better than lira's at least! it opens very sharp and sour but that dries down into a beautiful lemon tart that's sweet, lactonic, and slightly buttery. NEVER veers into the dreaded cleaning product territory that many lemon fragrances do. if it had a better performance it'd be the perfect lemon scent, but i have yet to find a better one so i'll be sticking w her until i do! overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷🩷💔 4.5/5

I just knew I was going to like this fragrance. I mean, I love that citrus gourmand type of fragrance family. First sniff was a fail. I was shocked that this blind buy just wasn’t what I expected. But then, I went back to this fragrance. I found myself reaching for it day after day, loving it more & more. I finally stopped myself and thought 💭 what other TK fragrances would surprise me like Lemon Tart did! Something about this fragrance is addictive. Received some samples of his other fragrances today and I can’t wait to test them out.

My favorite lemon centered fragrance I have experienced so far. Starts out as a sugary lemon drop and dries down to a lemon sugar cookie. My nose does not pick up on a sharp, pledge cleaner type lemon that others detect, but I get a well rounded sugary creamy gourmand lemon. Absolutely lovely. Nothing synthetic or off-putting. The butter and whipped cream probably helps tone down the sharpness of the citrus. I only wish for better sillage and scent bubble, so for that I give it a 9/10. If it performed better I would give it a 10/10.

i’m a huge fan of lemony-gourmand fragrances, but so many disappointed me... but this... THIS is straight up lemon curd!! it’s covered in freshly grated sprinkles of lemon zest, with a little teaspoon of vanilla whipped-cream! the pastry & butter make this smell so smooth too, omg wow! no synthetic, or disinfectant undertones which is a huge plus for me. this is just so creamy, sugary, smooth, buttery, somehow airy, soft, and absolutely mouth wateringgg!! it’s so bright, and yellow—i adore lemon tart <3

Absolutely delightful if you're a gourmand lover. Realistic lemon tart with the creamy lemon and the sweet cookie crust notes. Sweet but not crazy sweet, which is a relief for me now in the heat of summer. Okay, sure could be more zingy in the citrus, but then again, not all lemon tarts have a topping of zingy grated lemon peel on top, now do they? Super enjoyable, fresh and sweet and creamy and a punch of sugar cookie all in one...and at this modest price...yes please.

Another great value for price gourmand. It opens with a nice lemon and vanilla experience, but what really surprised me is the butter. You can really smell the butter come through and it really adds to the pastry experience. It’s not my favorite gourmand of all time, but it’s very photorealistic and fairly unique. It’s too feminine for most men imo, but the longevity and sillage are both good enough for me to say it’s worth the price.

It’s more Devotion than Cake once it dries down, but LT is a completely different fragrance from these two. I’ve tried all three and only ended up purchasing LT. It fools you into thinking it’s going to be all gourmand, but it’s so much more than that. I didn’t buy Cake because it smells like food, not a perfume. LT smells like a body lotion, something that belongs in the Sol de Janeiro collection. Love it and own a full size.

sent vraiment la tarte au citron, dommage qu'il ne projette pas, du coup pas de sillage et tenue légère. ressemble par certains aspects à dévotion mais de loin, car je ne trouve pas lemon tart très sucré, plutôt citronné et zest de citron, on ferme les yeux et c est une tarte au citron mais sans la meringue. peut faire l'objet d'un blind buy, ne décevra pas celles qui aiment les parfums gourmands. good job au parfumeur

Lemon custard pie. That's what this smells like, and I mean the most creamy, most realistic, most buttery lemon custard pie you've ever smelled. This is the kind of perfume you spray on your wrists just to keep sniffing it through-out the day, it's so addictive and delicious. It was a blind buy for me and it totally exceeded my expectations, there's absolutely nothing I can complain about.

This is a perfect year round gourmand fragrance thats identical to smelling a lemon tart. Very realistic notes of a buttery lemon vanilla mix. Every single person that i have had smell it on me has had the exact same reaction "Holy Sh*t this actually smells like a lemon tart." Very balanced sweet scent, heavily recommend it to any gourmand lovers.

Oh, wow! 🥰 A gourmand’s dream! The opening is freshly baked vanilla cookies with lots of lemon zest. Absolutely realistic, straight out of the bakery. Unfortunately the top notes fade quickly and it turns into a vanilla body lotion smell, although quite nice and wearable. Definitely worth buying.

It’s so delicious that wearing it gives me more joy than actually eating a lemon tart, and I love lemon tarts. It somehow manages to be airy and yummy at the same time and doesn’t become cloying at any point. I’d even say it has character. Found myself reaching for it way more than I expected.

This is what I wanted Lira to be. Sweet but citrusy. I love citrus scents but they are way too sharp and give off a cleaning vibe. This is gorgeous. I wore this in the heat in Athens and because there is more zest than sweet - it was perfect! Huge love.

Out of all the lemony vanilla gourmands I’ve been trying lately (Akro, Cookiecrunch, Love&crime, Devotion, Lira, etc ) this is my absolute favorite one. Well done Kalotinis!!!! Realistic lemon cake, soft and delicious, not to sweet. Just perfect!

i love it very realistic lemon cake smell , very comforting smell, great for office and casual outings , unfortunately it doesn't last on me more than an hour , i layer it with goddess or angham and its stunning .....

This sugary vanilla with a bit of lemon zest ..quite sweet and gourmand. For my nose Lemon Tart is not like Lira or A sweet pastry in Paris but I would say they are distant cousins because you get the same vibes.

Lemony, buttery goodness. This is a lot more butter, pie crust, and cream than other lemon tart scents that I own, but it still stays light and airy. Like a super sweet lemon meringue pie with a flaky crust.

Not much to say about this one- not in a bad way, but it smells like the name- exactly like a lemon tart. Not super complex. The only shame is there’s VERY little longevity. Just be prepared to reapply.

Fresh and sweet, lemon merengue in a bottle. This is my second purchase from Theodoros and I find the names to line up well with the scents. I would blind buy with great expectations from this company.

I don't think this is synthetic at all like people are saying, I get a very natural lemon and butter scent. Smells like freshly made lemon bars. Also really cheap niche scent. Really good!

I take it back about freshly baked. It smells like lemon bars that were made and then stored in the fridge for some kind of party. It's more of a chilled feeling than a warm gourmand

Lemon Tart smells of lemon zest and delicious avocado sandwiches with butter. It's surprising, unique, very enjoyable😍, not particularly sweet.

Yes, it is the same in the world of perfumes, it is that hidden touch that distinguishes T.K from others, Theodoros is doing great job. - T.K is making high quality realistic scents, it’s no longer a question of good or bad, it's a question of taste and desire, nobody able to impose on you when you are supposed to eat lemon tart, in the morning or in the evening, so if it's not your thing (gourmand scents), just stay away. I'm a Gen X, and loved the Lemon Meringue doll as a kid. I also love Starbucks Lemon Pound cake. But like Goldilocks, nothing I've tried is quite right. I'm not a fragrance newbie, so I purchased a decant to try. Unfortunately, the lemon was very "in your face" and not in a good way. I immediately shelved my decant. Fast forward a year later, and I tried it again. I was pleasantly surprised - the lemon has calmed down nicely - I'm not getting synthetic or cleaning product, just a photorealistic lemon with a touch of sweetness. Will I be getting a full bottle? No - I'd like a bit more of the "cake/tart" - there is some in the dry down, but not enough. I don't get a buttery note like others mentioned (thankfully). The longevity and silage are not great either - this disappears pretty quickly. How does this compare to Lira/Devotion? Lira has way less lemon and more cake, but that said, Lira doesn't do it for me either (I was expecting way more for the hype). Devotion has just as much lemon as Lemon Tart, but I think Lemon Tart is nicer (Devotion's lemon leans too much into the cleaning product category). Buy Lira if you want a pretty box and an empty wallet. Buy Devotion if you want a pretty bottle and don't mind cleaning product lemon Buy Lemon Tart if you don't mind letting it sit for a bit, and having to reapply

US customer, I emailed Theodoros Kalotinis and they were kind enough to offer me a 15% off coupon, I purchased from them prior. US customers get free s&h for orders 150 € or more. As of August 23rd, 2023 = $162.25 I own several scents from this house. From the initial blast, I was happy to get raw freshly grated lemon rind. This perfume is REALISTIC. Like Lira, Lemon Tart is one of the few gourmands I find to be summer friendly without being cloying or too dense. The vanilla TK uses is excellent which I find in several fragrances. It smells exactly like the notes with great execution. You can still smell the different notes individually. While I liked Coffee Addict for delivering what it was supposed to, I found Coffee Addict was far too realistic and better suited for a candle. Oddly, I get the candle vibe from buttery, lemony, lactonic Lemon Tart but I still love wearing it. Lemon is associated with clean. I adore this butter note, not many companies use this. Too bad TK doesn't sell lotions with lemon tart fragrance. I would buy this again if I run out. Well done.

Sampling Theodoros Kalotinis Lemon Tart, a 2023 release and fittingly approximating the scent of a lemon-led pastry, with (in my opinion) a lot more lemon and tart than crust, vanilla, and sugar. Akro Bake has a bit more balance of these two concepts, by contrast, and for that reason, I prefer Bake, but Lemon Tart shifts the balance in favor of a juicy lemon note, still sweet and somewhat grounded, should the wearer prefer. I love that both options exist, though, and this represents a further diversification of an already deep and interesting house based out of Greece that’s fortunately now available in its entirety in the US. As with most of the line, Lemon Tart is EDP concentration and priced at $55 for 50ml, really an unusual value nowadays in the current market. The house is sold in the US only via Luckyscent, from which I obtained my sample. 7 out of 10

Of all the supposed "lemon meringue/dessert" scents I've tried so far, this is probably the only one where I can kind of smell the vision. If I sniff deep enough, it definitely gives off a gourmand vibe. *But.* There's a note that's so strong and off-putting (I thought it might've been licorice, but that's not listed) that I can't do Lemon Tart on its own. I decided to mix it with Escapade Gourmande and it gave me more of what I was looking for. The vanilla slightly softened whatever that weird note was and made me smell more like a pie. The scent lasted for my 8+ hour workday and I was shocked that i could smell it on myself all day. It was kind of a lot. It's not a scent I could wear every day, but it was fun to smell like an edible lemon confection.

Sweeter and even more gourmand than Akro Bake! Super realistic! Wearing side by side, wrist to wrist, I am quite surprised at how perfumey the opening of Bake smells in comparison. Both good, glad to have both. Would say Bake is fresher, Tarte has more crust and is slightly sweeter. Will wear Bake for warm days, Tarte for cooler weather. This is the only Theodoros Kalotinis that hasn't disappointed me. I get not a hint of licorice or anise. Or Pledge. I find Bake and Unknown Pleasures both have a more astringent opening than this, (although Unknown Pleasures is still my favorite lemon scent as it's progressive scent story is intoxicating). Lira is thicker, heavier, Tarte and Bake are easier to wear.

Bright lemon zest, sharp and tart, woven into a golden crust of warm, buttery cookie. This is the very definition of gourmand vibrancy, waking you like toasty sunlight baking the earth brown. It’s buttery and biscuity, the embodiment of delight, fresh tart cups with a bright citrus essence which teeters on the edge of sharp and clean—a little too clean—before softening into the powdery comfort of vanilla-dusted cookies. The tart fades, replaced by a musk that feels like sweets spun into air, like the pitiful last crumb of a once-perfect lemon tart. Musk that feels more like perfume than pastry, alike the fleeting nature of many lovely gourmands.

On me, I got this short flash of a lemon tart with the buttery crust everyone is talking about. But that treat went away by the next breath. Then, I smelled like Trix cereal for the rest of the work day. It did last. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it and I like the price of this fragrance and I would pay 50-60 bucks to smell like Trix! I wish it smelled like a lemon tart on me though! What I will actually do is save up 250 and buy Ambrosia Imperiale from Navitus which on me smells like Fruity Pebbles, not Trix. Still like cereal but in a more complicated and interesting way. I guess I want to smell like niche cereal, go figure! Lol!

This was an absolute butter bomb straight out of the bottle. I needed to hold my arm away for a minute just to let the butter scent dissipate before trying to get a sniff. Once it settles, this is a divine gourmand. Buttery flaky pastry, lemon curd, a bit of creamy sugary goodness. The lemon does turn a bit detergenty on me, but the other notes keep it in check so it doesn't get too astringent smelling. Strange to smell something that is both very heavy and clean at the same time. Recommend it for gourmand lovers. I will probably never wear this in public, it's more of a guilty pleasure scent than a crowd pleaser.

I'm a little bepuzzled about Lemon tart. It opens up very zingy and sour. I typically don't enjoy tart perfumes. Then it dries down to this buttery, lemon pie with vanilla. And it's quite sugary without being to cloying which is a big plus. So why am I bepuzzled? The dry down isn't really something special. It's a nice gourmand but it doesn't stand out like for example Lira which seems to be un-dupeable. And my other concern is that the longevity isn't great. The first half hour it projects like crazy, but in the dry down it gets quite intimate. But overall a beautiful perfume and so affordable!

I think I've review this before when I had a decant. I do NOT promote blind buying, but this fragrance is an excellent example of the difference between a bottle and a decant. My decant was gorgeous but had terrible performance. Now that I have the full bottle, with overspraying, this has created a gorgeous scent bubble with moderate sillage. Stunning gourmand lemon and much better than DG Devotion (too cloying), Lira (licorice ruined it for me), and unknown pleasures (something "off" and waaay to strong for average wear), Akro bake (overpriced).

For the first ten minutes, this is a realistic lemon meringue pie. Or buttery lemon cookies. You can smell the buttery crust, the lemon curd. But the butter note (thankfully) fades after ten minutes, leaving you with a beautiful, creamy lemon pudding. At the very end of the fragrance, it is simply lemons and sugar. This is not strong. It is not long-lasting. You can get four hours if you are lucky and it is soft. Not something you are going to wear to get noticed.

I was looking for something better than Bake by Akro, which I really like by itself, but since I'm no perfume connesoir I thought that it was because I haven't tried a lot of gourmands. This is nice, it certainly has more of this "tartine" opening which for me is slightly suffocating, but later fades a bit. However, longevity for me turned out to be quite dissapointing and I think I'll stick with Bake for now.

It's the weakest link amongst the samples that i've tried so far. The lemon is sweet but very weak and subdued by buttery whipped cream. I can't even make out the vanilla in this, just the creaminess and the makeshift lemon. Sillage is similar to Cinnamon Rolls, projection is nonexistent after just one minute. Pleasant scent, but not worth buying a perfume that has the lasting effect of a body spray.

Realistic lemon cake batter gourmand scent. I wish that fresh lemon zest would stick around longer, since I lost that around 1,5/2 hours. After that it smelled like a buttery vanilla cake batter to me. Performance is moderate, about 4-5 hours on me. Barely any projection or sillage unfortunately. I can see some similarities with Lira, but it's definitely not a dupe. A like for me, not a love.
