Marzipan Gourmand

I can’t believe I already have 4 TK perfumes in my collection which is not that big. I constantly order tester sets and skip on super hyped and expensive perfumes too. The only houses I have more perfumes from are Guerlain and Diptyque and I don’t like prominent gourmands. That being said, I first ordered Peach Macaroon & Matcha Ice cream BUT I should have trusted my gut as even though they feel special too, this one is the best from the house imo. This smells like Lost Cherry with a bit more sweetness and more almond. I tested it today again along with two of the Guerlain extraits which I contemplate and this one wins in both projection and overall happy feeling it gives me. It is so comforting, so well blended and so familiar. When I read Marzipan I would imagine dark chocolate, booziness but no, not at all. It is like a sweet hug and I will definitely layer with Tom Ford because this one has a better longevity.

Another first impressions of a Theodoros Kalotinis fragrance, because alas!— Summer pollen has found my nose and I am congested. At first, she doesn't smell of marzipan to me. I definitely smelled almond, sweetness, and, oddly enough, a hint of lemon? Which are all close to marzipan indeed, yet still miss the mark. But I let the sample sit a few minutes, as you do, and eventually there was a beautiful marzipan note. It does remind me a little of other très moderne gourmands such as Mirage Gourmand or such perfume houses as Jousset, Kayali, The Dua Brand, or Odette Parfum Co, but not quite as weak as some can be. Hopefully I'll update this review later.

Initial spray is sweet sugary almond-marzipan goodness. Dry down is straight Lost Cherry with a marshmallow background. I recognize that Lost Cherry DNA anywhere. I love Cherry Almond Blossom soaps/lotions so this is nice, but it is a very cherry leaning almond fragrance so just be aware! Its really good - not marzipan like I was expecting, but Im pleasantly surprised. On the fence if I will make this a full bottle purchase or not. Gotta test it out a few more days.

I ordered a sample of Pear Gelato but received this by mistake and I'm not upset about it because this smells delicious. Very accurate to the name, edible even!

I don’t know where everyone’s getting sugar and marshmallows. To me, this isn’t sweet at all. It opens on a clean, nutty crunch, then slides into this image of an oak barrel where someone’s been kneading dough. There’s no boozy splash, but there is a raw, edible savouriness. And only then does the cherry appear - natural, not candy, not “cherry-flavoured.” Just a real cherry note, and it stays to the end. I think this is the one in my collection with the sharpest, most high-contrast transitions. Here I genuinely feel the perfume transforming. That alone makes it worth wearing. No one asked, but I’ll say it anyway: in sheer beauty, this cherry is a step behind the New Zealand masterpiece Cherry Pop by Frater, but it’s in the same orbit. Cherry Pop is impossible to buy now, and I managed to grab one of the last bottles “for the future,” like a sensible person with completely irrational hobbies. Still, in my mind they’re both art: Marzipan for its power and metamorphoses; Cherry Pop for its finesse.

Absolute almond and marzipan photorealistic powerhouse! If you love these notes you will love this perfume. Gourmand, sweet, decadent but not cheap and dare I say even classy; especially if layered with other perfumes. This is what I wanted Italica to smell like in certain aspects. For me personally it's a bit too strong and at times I got whiffs of play-dough but it is overall a nice perfume. Be wary that it CAN smell like cherries due to the benzaldehyde that cherries and almond both share. I see it as a plus if you like both notes because it's basically two birds with one stone! I love this! I got a sample from lucky scent.. this is beautiful almondy daytime wear of Lost cherry but more almondy IMO. My only thing it does not last for me.. I put it on this morning and it's pretty much gone and that is like a 5-6 hour wear. Not sure if I need it since i have lost cherry but it is 100% lovely scent 😍

This one is nice and lasts a very long time. I am somewhat disappointed because truly all I can smell is cherry 🍒 🍒 🍒 This does smell like Kayali and TF equivalents. If you’re into cherry scents then this is a great option but I was hoping for marzipan chocolate that I love to eat during festive season.

It smells more like smokey/powdery toasted marshmallows than Almond Marzipan, I imagine this would be a nice end of summer and fall scent but unfortunately, while it is still a nice scent it's just not really what I was hoping for...

I don’t know how he does it but the notes always depict so strongly and beautifully. The almond is so prominent and the marzipan is absolutely lovely. One of my favorites from the new releases

The first 20.minutes remind me of BDK Velvet Tonka without the playdough, on me the dry down reminds me of fruitcake candies cherries. It's pretty and definitely gives holiday marzipan vibes.

not much to say about this to be honest. very very sweet sugary marzipan. for once the almond here actually does translate more cherry to me but that’s because of how sweet this is.

It's cute. Reminded me of lost cherry and oddly angels share for some reason.

Powdery almond in the opening, a bit of cherry, but nice. Then the fluffy sugary marshmallow comes in but does not stay long. This is similar to Almond Tart, which I already own. What sets it apart is the dry down. As it dries down it gets a bit nutty and savory, while the Almond Tart stays sweet and powdery. Not much difference in the sillage/performance other than the initial blast/opening where Marzipan Gourmand is stronger.

I do not really get the marzipan, for me it is rather a cherry scent. Also, I must confess... I am not a fan of marzipan as a dessert and if you're wondering why I bought the bottle - I am wondering too :D but I really like the gooey marshmallow note it has, especially in the opening. Nice scent nevertheless and performs well, but it is not "me" ... Will be selling my bottle

Like a marzipan, but there’s something floral in there I can’t quite pin down. Maybe even a bit of cardamom? I thought it was a bit too sweet for me at first, but the more I wear it, the more I like it. Something in it keeps it from being that cherry almond marzipan. Not like a true foody gourmand. Maybe that could make it more wearable to some.

I was the most excited for this because i love eating marzipan like for real but it was just not the right one for me. More testing: the smell reminds me of pert plus shampoo and conditioner. My family used that forever back in the day. I never thought I would ever smell that again. Laugh. The other smells from this brand are great. My favorite: pistachio.

Lots and lots of almond and marzipan at the start, and then I get something smokey sweet which i assume would be the roasted marshmallows. I also get something cherry-like, which i think could be from the almonds too?? Bitter almonds cherry like scent? I don't like heavy almond in my frags (I feel sooo picky right now considering my other reviews for this line even though I love TK as a brand) except for hypnotic poison edt/edp or black opium fr example so that is a factor for me not loving this one. Well yet at least, but I try to not judge scents from one try, so i'll try it again but in the right season instead of the Scandinavian summer ee have now. 😁 The only one I'm fairly sure i'll pick up a bottle of so far is Tiramisu. I'm a sucker for a good sweet coffe/chocolate combo, especially if it has added biscuits and some boozy hints in it. 😍

For me it was love at first sniff. An irresistible blend of sweet marzipan, almonds, gently caramelised marshmallow and vanilla. It’s a true gourmand, sweet, velvety and somewhat refined. I’d even say there’s something rather elegant about it, especially when layered with more sophisticated or drier fragrances. Longevity and projection are both very decent. It’s a unisex scent, though honestly, I wouldn’t want my man to wear it. 😅

I only have a sample of this one BUT I will definitely buy a full size because this perfume is something else... I feel a bit of marzipan and cherry! It i sweet and warm and reminds me of a doll that I had growing up (a bigger version of the Bratz dolls). I don't know what it is but I get very nostalgic when I smell this perfume and it brings me so much calmness and peace.

This smells exactly like marzipan—sweet, slightly spicy, doughy, and incredibly true to life. I’m personally not a fan of marzipan in general, but I picked up a sample to try TK’s new releases. If you love marzipan, this is spot-on and beautifully done.

If you want to know what this smells like and you own Yum Pistachio by Kayali and Dior's Poison Girl - just layer these two and it will smell exactly like Marzipan Gourmand.

I want to love this the way the rest of these reviewers do! To my nose, this is just pink cherry almond gas station soap. I'm so sad this wasn't a fit.

He fixed Almond Tart and called it Marzipan Gourmand. I love it.
