Matcha Ice Cream

THERE it is, winner of my own little matcha bracket. The lime note is very beneficial to the experience if you can get used to it. The first few times I sprayed, I was confused why it was "burst of fresh crisp lime" plus "creamy vanilla ice cream." After I while, I did start to smell it probably 'as intended' which was not as lime but as a fresh, grassy component to bump the matcha accord. Now, it's all I can smell and it's absolutely beautiful. But I think it's completely fair if that lime note throws people and they disregard it because it was odd before I got used to it. This one is just bright, innocent, fun, but not too young. You would not smell this in a middle school locker room with all the other girly ice cream scents. It's just creamy and balanced and bright. So glad I got this for a great deal and can put my own matcha trialing obsession to rest for a while.

Oh my goodness, right on the nose! I’m immediately hit with the bright lime zest and sweet matcha tea! It literally smells like matcha ice cream in a waffle cone, but in a wearable way! It’s creamy and sweet, and the matcha keeps it fresh and green, with a slight earthiness. The lime zest makes it pop, adding dimension. Simple, yet interesting. Delicious and super photorealistic! On my skin, it holds full power for about three hours before softening to a creamy sugary vanilla. I’m catching whiffs of it as I move throughout the day. This would be beautiful in the spring. I love it and need a full bottle!

I was so excited to try this since Sorce has a similar fragrance but they don’t ship in Europe sadly. My oh my. It’s the perfect mix of sweet, tangy, sour and gourmand all in one. The opening with the lime is so fresh and immediately followed by the gorgeous green notes of the matcha. The ice cream and cone notes translate beautifully. I did notice that it didn’t last as long as the other three but it is to be expected with citrus notes and there aren’t any woods or resins to ground the fragrance at the base. Still, beautifully done !

I love this, but I’m not sure the name really reflects what I’m smelling. I get an instant hit of lime, but it’s sweet and there is a creaminess. As it dries down I start picking up the matcha note, it’s not the main note as the name suggests, but it’s green, earthiness twinned with the sweet cream somehow works so well on my skin and I find it a really beautiful and addictive scent. I find the TK perfumes a bit hit or miss, but this and Peach Macaron are stunners.

I have only found two matcha perfumes I enjoy. This is the second one I have tried but my favorite. Lime is the first note and it is prominent, however when it dries down it is the best matcha scent I have experienced ever! I don't enjoy citrus scents and the brilliance of this fragrance demonstrates what a wonderful combination of the lime and matcha make. I This is my first fragrance with this line and I am looking forward to trying me. I was very impressed.

I think Kalotinis doesn’t joke when he mixes ingredients. You read the notes and this is exactly what you get. It smells like a sweet vanilla ice cream, melting and dripping down the cone. The matcha here is more of a fresh whisper on a very sweet, wet waffle. Lactonic, cozy and airy. I am in trouble... the whole line is absolutely stunning and I already have so many in my wishlist with this one being top 3.

After testing the sample I got from edulge on my skin: it is a sweet, creamy, matcha - smells so delightful on me. I prefer it over D'annam matcha soft serve, which is slightly bitter and less sweet but reminds me of Matcha Meditation by Maison Margiela which has been discontinued, but without the white chocolate note. Both are good matcha scents I would recommend them.

This is the most unique of the four new gourmand releases and also my favorite. I've tried a few matcha perfumes recently and this is really top 2 because of the lime zest added. Total artisinal ice cream vibes because it is creamy and sweet, citrusy and earthy all at the same time. Also lasts 8 hours on skin

This is by far my favorite matcha ice cream perfume. MMIH has been officially dethroned. It opened up very zesty which kinda scared me but then it transitioned into a super realistic matcha waffle cone. Love it and i can't stop wearing it. Lasts very long and also has a nice silage.

Finally a sweet matcha fragrance that gives ice cream in the dry down. I love the fresh twist of the lime zest in the opening. This one is complex and not linear, a very uplifting scent. Very, very well done.

So delicious, more complex than other gourmands in this line

I see some people are getting overly lime focused/too fresh and citrusy-screechy first impressions. Let me tell you that it's indeed, just a first impression. Allow the bottle to sit for a week and then watch the magic happen. It's is a beautifully blended rich but summery enough scent of citrus and biscuits scent. Lime is not that off putting fake lime flavouring which I was afraid of. No, it smells more like bergamot to me this or like a touch of aromatic lime zest. But most importantly it is perfectly blended into a sweet creamy scent, must be the ice cream note. Matcha does not smell like green tea in here, it just gives the scent a nice twist and complexity. If anything, the main note I pick up is biscuits, which I this case must be the waffles. And of course vanilla. It is a beautiful delicious, kind of creamy but not clothing and still suitable for summer scent. Actually, I see myself reaching for it during any season. Lasts pretty long on fabric, on skin performs fine, nothing crazy, love it! Also it does really remind me of Lemon Tart by the same brand, which I also happen to love. Lemon Tart is absolutely adorable, sweet summery lemon and cream scent. Matcha Ice Cream is more rich, grounded and complex. And more biscuit forward to my nose. As far as ice cream scents go, Pear Gelato is still the most realistic ice cream I've ever come across.

It might be the lime, but I find this almost cucumber and minty on the opening. Kind of refreshing. It evolves into a lime-y vanilla that does have an addictive creaminess to me. However, if you’re looking for matcha ice cream, this bears no resemblance. Might be more wearable that way. I think this would be nice if you’re not hoping for matcha ice cream but are just smelling this without knowing the name. I do quite like it. Something on the dry down even reminds me of the Atelier des Ors Blue Madeleine. If you want a true, photorealistic matcha ice cream though, check out Match Made in Heaven by Sorce. If you want something fresh and wearable, sweet but not too foodie, try this.

It's extremely sweet and cone-forward. I don't get much matcha at all. HOWEVER, this scent combined with d'Annam's Matcha Soft Serve, which is very truly matcha-y and doesn't have much cone or sweetness in it, is PERFECT if you want a true matcha ice cream cone scent.

I tried this perfume as well as the other 3 in the collection, and out of all of them this is the one that I unfortunately like the least. On my skin (and on paper) I don't smell the matcha at all, and barely even the other notes aside from LIME. All I smell after spraying it on my hand is artificial/medicine lime candy. I swear I never understood people who would say a citrus gourmand smells like dish soap until now, and it's probably just a lime issue. It smells like a somewhat man lime fragrance on me and I really can't recognize the waffle cone and ice cream at all. I'm sure this can be a great perfume for many people but it's just not for me. I wished it was more gourmand and sweet and not just lime soap candy. It's a shame. The duration and longevity are moderate. Rating: 5.5/10 🍋🟩

A rather photorealistic matcha drink scent with a hint of lime note. Not a fan In my opinion either make a fragrance dedicated to matcha scent or make it lemon tea there’s no reason to add citrus to everything it does not make your fragrance more unique in fact the adding of citrus to tea notes is overdone in a market oversaturated with similar opening notes there’s no need for endless variations imitating pineapple on pizza moments to a tea scents. My Verdict Smell : 7.5 Bottle : 3 ( I Mean... Just Look At It ) Concept : 8 ( Mainstream Niche Scent ) Value : 4 ( $160 For A Measly 50ml Fragrance Juice Hello??? ) Blind buy worthy? Yesn’t... If you’re a tea maniac go ahead. If you’re a gourmand girly skip the fragrance entirely plenty other gourmands that are far reasonably priced

I definitely get the key lime and pie crust, too... but i have to focus to smell it. It's not bad, just odd... Strangely, I also get a bit of goat feed pellets... like from the petting zoo dispenser you put a quarter in and turn the big silver knob. Lol. And also a little nutrogena self-tanner. The opening did have a bit of sour green tea froyo smell, too. But that didn't last long. I can't quite say if this is masculine or feminine... more culinary. Or a plug-in for a room scent. Like this should not be a perfume, kind of? Idk. My daughter loves it. She wants me to buy the bottle! Maybe it's just me. But this one is not my vibe. Altho I am glad I tried it :)

genuinely not sure how i feel about this. going to keep testing this out. it smells like soured yogurt initially, then it dries down so yummy and creamy. the matcha note is so lovely. and then after like 30-40 minutes, it has a strange urine smell?? does anyone else smell that??

sweet and earthy. it's nice, but not a gamechanger or a matcha fav for me sadly. i will say i get a lot of compliments wearing it though so it feels like a crowd-pleaser! overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷🖤🖤 3/5

It totally smells like lemon waffles with a slight tinge of matcha, it's nice but not what I wanted...

something about this just smells...off. the opening is ok but the longer it sits on my skin, the more off putting it is. i don’t smell ice cream or sugar at all. it smells like strong green tea / lime and something that goes like plastic on my skin (maybe the waffle??). this and peach macaron were a miss for me from this drop, but tiramisu was amazing.

I’ve never understood what people mean when they say a lactonic fragrance goes “rancid” on them until this. It is vile and smells like rotten/spoiled milk mixed with some odd synthetic citrus. I was so excited to smell this, and I love match made in heaven and enjoy matcha soft serve. This is NOTHING like either of them and was a huge disappointment. Please test before buying, definitely NOT blind buy safe. One of the few fragrances I’ve had to scrub off.

The first few minutes of all the new Theodoros Kalotinis gourmands smell disgustingly rancid to me. After that they vary in how they dry down. This one just gave me strong and sharp citrus. (The nicest Matcha I have experienced is Sorce's Match Made in Heaven, which is delicious and sweet, and nothing at all like this.)

Got told I smelt like vape refill liquid by a colleague, no matcha at all. Smells like a bad lime car air freshener.

I just tested all four from this collection on paper and 3 on skin and I agree with kaxtingitup95 that this is the most unique one out of them. On my skin it was sour, a bit herbal and green matcha at the start, but quickly enough the green notes and the sourness went away. The whiff of a wafflecone took its place (haha, bad pun intended. Iykyk!). The opening was a tiny bit off putting to me but that might just be my skin. I somehow expected a cooling sensation from an actual ice cream note as a balance and to lighten the heavier notes that turn up after the brief opening. It dries down to a sweet wafflecone smell on me. It's good and unique. I don't hate it , but I'm not sure I'd want a full bottle either both because of the opening and for the fact that I usually don't enjoy wafflecone notes on my skin. The drydown lasts for a while though, around 7 hours but it's a skin scent after 1-2 hours on me.

This is really lovely, although the projection and longevity are a little lacking compared to the Peach Macaron. The opening with the lime zest is very fresh and reminds me a bit of TK's other fragrance Lemon Tart, but this is much more high quality and smells less synthetic. The lime zest fades as the matcha ice cream note comes out, which is earthy and creamy and very pleasant. This is the first TK gourmand fragrance I've tried actually think is decent - I think they really upgrade the materials used for the 150 euro extraits compared to the 45 euro EDPs. And unlike a number of other matcha fragrances I've tried, like D'annam's Matcha Soft Serve and Sorce's A Match Made in Heaven, the waffle cone note here is fairly realistic. I'd probably buy a full bottle of this if the performance was a little bit better. It only lasts 2-3 hours on me and fades very quickly to a skin scent.

this smells nothing like matcha ice cream to me, but i'm not too mad. this, to me, smells like expensive spf, the one with a tiny bit of glitter on it, that makes you sparkle golden. sweet but not gourmand (though vanilla-adjacent, as expected from the house), a bit cloying once the time passes. fine but mediocre. also, can't get over the opening, i don't know what theodoros kalotinos is putting on these fragrances but the first ten seconds are hideous. revolting, even. really wanted to love this, however, my sample will probably end up in the trash.

Upon first sniff, I got a huge hit of lime and graham cracker pie crust. Like the same way a key lime pie smells, just more tart. It then mellowed out into a green, sweet cracker tart. No real ice cream hints either, but a faint, condensed milky note found its way out. While I didn't pick up on any real matcha scents, I definitely smell its presence??? Like if i didn't know the notes, I would assume it's in there, hopefully you know what I mean lol Overall, a wonderful, accurate to key lime pie but not matcha ice cream scent!

I really wanted to love this, but it didn’t mix well with my skin. I was hoping for something creamier and more ice cream-like. It does resemble a matcha latte, but the matcha is faint—what stands out to me is salt?? and lime, like a matcha latte w/ a salty tortilla chip on top. Out of all four of TK’s new releases, this was my least favorite. The lime fades eventually and starts to smell a bit like The Matcha by Le Labo. Longevity is surprisingly poor, especially for a TK scent.

this one gave me a lil scare because the opening is a very strong and artificial lime note. it smelled just like my cleaning solution for a solid 7-8 minutes. HOWEVER, the dry down definitely has that nice waffles scent with a much toned down lime. i can’t say i’m getting any matcha or green tea from this though. it’s a decent perfume but i don’t think it’s worth how expensive it is, won’t be repurchasing because i know i can get a waffle scent for much cheaper somewhere else

Very light, airy green gourmand scent. No much matcha here, if any at all...but some lime and a very creamy vanilla drydown, with a realistic waffle cone note. I don't think it smells too artificial...actually it is not harsh at all. Very soft and airy, skin scent after a few minutes. I think this might work well for these moments you don't want to disturb others with your perfume but still want a gourmand scent. I do like it.

This fragrance doesn't do much on my skin so I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. 90% of its scent is dry waffle cone and vanilla. I don't get any matcha or lime. It dries down to sweet vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone. I'm hoping one day the matcha will come out of hiding and I'll begin to enjoy it. 4/10

This scent projects super well, and lasts for 4 hours on skin. I underestimated how lime-forward it would be, but I'm still so intrigued by the scent. It's so unique and buttery and gourmand, but the lime note needs just a tiny bit more sweetness to make it coherent for me!

I will be getting a full bottle of this at some point. So creamy and delicious. I really get the lime in this which I love, and can also smell the waffle cone. It smells unique to anything I've smelled before, which is important to me. Very yummy.

On me, this smells really nice and also lasts and projects well. It has a bit of the DNA of Pear Gelato, but with some citruses that makes it more fresh. It's a combination of citruses and sweetness. The matcha note is pretty subtle.

Not the biggest fan of this one. Smells like lime rind on my skin with a touch of matcha. It is unique but not for me. I also was hoping for something a little more creamy, or matcha. But the lime is really overpowering on me.

I think I finally found my favorite matcha gourmand. Theodoros does such a great job of blending notes into a beautiful song and dance. This is a highly realistic scent of matcha + waffle cone. It's perfection.

The worst matcha perfume. Smells like lemon grass. This is horrible. Just pure bad. Nothing matcha about it.

this is a powdery matcha i like, but the performance (both sillage and longevity) make it not worth it.

Smells identical to fruity pebbles. no Matcha.
