Royal Orchid

I have recently bought the ROYAL ORCHID by Theo Kalotinis. Divine scent! Long lasting! Top quality! I am so lucky i have found out!

For everyone that cant stand oud this is a lovely perfume as the oud is very discreat while adding the intencity needed. The pachouli is also balanced with the oud creating a very nice outcome. The orchid is a bit more distinctive to me and the cranberies are not there. Nice and vivid , lovely scent for the cold days !

Sampling Theodoros Kalotinis Royal Orchid, from the Eau de Parfum collection, a fittingly floral mix, fresh and somewhat sweet, a wee bit musky, with key notes (per the website) of the flower itself, oud wood, patchouli, and cranberry, which all generally seem fitting. I find the opening to be a bit sharp and screechy but the dry down is a bit more pleasant and agreeable, certainly something that’s apt for fans of white florals but still is accessible to most fragrance fans in general, the cranberry and woods sort of providing a common link to anyone, but I’m sure the notes alone will feel like this gets ruled out for some. It’s on the right side of pleasant, overall, but the balance shifts from sharp in the opening to a bit musky in the drydown, missing the mark a little for me, though I think it adds variety to the collection. Like the rest of the EDP collection, Royal Orchid is priced at 45 euros for 50ml, very reasonable, and a sample can be purchased as part of a make-your-own discovery set, so I’d certainly suggest trying this to round out your own set, but there are better offerings in the house, I’d say. Performance is very good, though, quite strong, particularly for the price point. 6 out of 10

Wow, orchids! I've had my most terrible experiences with them from The Library of Fragrance (Demeter) collection. But TF's Black Orchid is interesting and mysterious. And now this Royal Orchid by TK. My first impression / the opening notes feel like "Oh dear, there's something rancid here!" I smelt the dark patchouli too but it is different here than in some others, where this has been done prominent (like The Merchant of Venice's Patchouli Indonesia). But both the orchid and patchouli are gone in five minutes (or I got noseblind). What remains is something like floral cranberries (so it's not top but base note?) together with a fading patchouli. I think the dark and mysterious opening should last longer, sad that it's over so quickly. I smelt no oud at all unless the dark unique patchouli was the result of mixing it with oud -- but it appeared faintly after ten minutes for a short time. On my shirt, the cranberries have turned sour by this time and there's nothing else besides this. Having sprayed Black Orchid on my other hand I can compare that that one stays dark, slightly rancid and floral much longer, smells more linear.

I blind bought this because I love 'I am beautiful' and this was compared to that one as being very similar. Well, they share two main notes - patchouli and cranberries - and this fact make them relate indeed but I won't say they are that similar. I am beautiful is a much fruitier, brighter, more playful fragrance with a modern, beautiful chypre character. Royal Orchid, as the name suggest becomes more sweet, deep, dark, mysterious and overall more formal or more of a night fragrance with the beautiful orchid accord. I smell oud (or an oud-ish woodiness) in the base which adds to the expensive, elegant night-time effect. I love this fragrance too, it can be easily the night-time or special event sister of the more casual but still very special 'I am beautiful'.

I smell a burst of tart sharp cranberry first which feels bright and then an oudy woody floral. The oud is very gentle and not very obvious. Feels like more of a base to bring the notes all together

i would like to taste it very much!!
