Symposium

It was quite interesting to test this one because I had already tested many other TK scents but the price of the tester of this one was higher and even the bottle looks nicer than others. And really, this is in a sense better or more complex than other TK scents. It still has that very specific TK signature sweetness in it but thanks to the greater complexity there is more going on. The initial smell is very good and it lasts. After some time it all turns into a strong patchouli which is barely there at the beginning. But despite of all that, I still think that TK's Mentor and Plumeria are more interesting and enjoyable experiences to me. I would add Symposium in this list if it hadn't end up with such a strong patchouli but would have kept its initial smell profile. Someone mentioned Reflection (45) as similar to this. Well, I do have Reflection (not 45) so I can comment that the sweetness level and profile of these two are similar indeed but Reflection is even sweeter and stronger. This similarity didn't come to my mind at all, I saw it only here.

Extremely dense, rich, and well blended fragrance. It is true to its name, a perfect olfactory representation of the Symposium in Ancient Greece. It is a very multifaceted fragrance that will surprise you at every sniff. The first time I smelled it, I didn't pick up Iris at all. Next spray, the iris was there. The fragrance will surprise you at every sniff. The longevity is extremely impressive, it will last for hours and the red wine facet will peek its head at every phase of the fragrance. There is a very rich base with labdanum and amber. I would definitely say that this is a fragrance for special occasions. It smells unlike any other fragrance I've ever smelled but at a certain phase in its life, it gives me a slight hint of the discontinued Valentino V pour Homme. Another big success by Theodoros Kalotinis!

This is sophisticated, luxurious and well blended fragrance! It definitely got iris and saffron, but also sweetnes from the vanilla, tonka, labdanum and red wine note. This fragrance is hard to describe, but its definitely worth the price. The projection and longetivity is also beastly!

Symposium Theodoros Kalotinis is a fragrance that deserves attention, especially if you're a fan of MFK Grand Soir. While its opening leans more masculine with prominent spices and lavender, it gracefully evolves into a warm and inviting dry-down of amber and vanilla, and woods. This transformation is where the magic truly happens, as the dry-down bears a striking resemblance to MFK Grand Soir. With good longevity and sillage, Symposium feels like an upgraded, more masculine version of MFK Grand Soir. If you love the latter but are looking for a potentially more budget-friendly option, Symposium Theodoros Kalotinis is worth considering.

Wow, this one is a strong and very complex scent. Well blended, it is sweet, bright even juicy and fruity, yet rich, classy and with a character. When I put it on, I get mixed feelings. On one hand, it is too masculine to be feminine, on other hand it is too feminine to be masculine. Confusing, I know. That's why I would say it is completely unisex. To me it is rather mature smelling. The complexity of the notes rimind me of XO Brandy by Navitus or Insomnia by Faviol Seferi, but the scents itself is not like those two. I would say it is better and more beautiful and overall the notes are different. Only longer into the wear at times I get something dusty at the base, but it's barely noticeable. Performance is insanely good. Would recommend to try to anyone, unless you are under 30. Great perfume, just not the one for me. Makes me eager to try more of Theodoros Kalotinis thought :)

This fragrance was promising, and although it has some interesting parts, like the red wine which I can sense for a couple of minutes, they just don't last. Unfortunately it ends up smelling like a run of the mill designerish amber scent.

This has the same blue-portapotty-fluid note as Kouros, but not as nasty. I'm not sure how to describe this fragrance. IT does not smell like most of the listed notes to me. It projects strongly and smells powdery. The drydown is sweet -- tonka, vanilla, fig -- but with a lingering (clean) urinal cake note. My husband and I both disliked it, which made it a real shame that it lasted more than 24 hours on my skin after sampling.

I honestly cannot smell any of the notes listed above, i find this mixture odd at best, something in the perfumes irks me, most likely the iris, they must have used some cheap oil, its a no go for me

The concept of the Symposium is very complex: it was fundamental in Greek culture, it took place after the actual banquet and was considered an expansion of the knowledge of being, in all its forms. Each participant (strictly male), after drinking a glass of wine and invoking Dionysus, depending on what the topic was chosen, had to talk about it in his own way. Everything was enriched by dances, songs, and often even playful acts. A moment of fun, pleasure, but also of openness to new notions, considered very important. But now we come to the fragrance, which yes, is definitely richer in notes than the others of the brand, but unfortunately this is not my type either: I smell the wine, amber, woody, vanilla scents, which are enhanced by the ambergris. It all seems too much to me. Excessive. I don't know why, maybe this is the idea they wanted to give, but it just isn't for me.

Re Theodore, ti mas ekanes?!?!!? This one, from first instance through to the dry down reminds me of an uber-mainstream designer mega-scent, one that has a Hollywood actor playing tennis, then horse riding, and then some other token shite. Yikes! It doesn’t smell bad, it just doesn’t smell, well, like something I couldn’t get in a discount chemist for $10 or so. Very generic. Sorry, file, but it’s what I felt...

Rich exotic and unusual. I can picture the decadent ancient Greeks feasting dancing and drinking and smelling like this. There is a spiritual incense note here that reminds me of temples in the East and India too. Dionysus would be proud.

Unimaginative male cologne. Reminds me of vitage mainstream, give it a miss. No fun, no sex, no booze
