Vetyver And Cucumber

I blind bought this for my husband for Valentine’s Day and now I want to try the others because I really really enjoy it. It’s, of course, a unisex vetiver with both tangy facets and smokey facets (pushed by soft woody synthetics and lentisque) and this one opens with a song and dance about cucumber (the unmistakeable note is preceded by chilled melon fruity tones and sustains itself for around a half hour). Vetiver is the perfect scent metaphor for Thom Browne’s gray suiting and I see the range as fitting in with each facet of his brand. Cucumber characterizes the TB ath-lesiure, sporty, facet of classic grey heather sweats and white sneakers. It’s a super versatile fresh scent, casual, daytime, spa-like. But what makes it desireable to me is that it is all done at the right quiet volume, never stonking or harsh like say a Clive Christian take on Vetiver, and never fleeting and bare bones like a cheapie or some designer vetivers. So many masculine vetiver scents turn me off by either being overly built up with woody/amber synthetics (smokey, dry, chemical) or by pushing that tangy, phlegmy facet with accords of lime, gin, marijuana, basil etc. This Thom Browne creation is to Vetiver what Celine’s Parade is to Neroli. That is it conveys quality and luxury by being quiet and understated but also rich and substantial. A trick perhaps but one that makes reaching for this bottle a no brainer. 5 out of 5.

Best cucumber scent out there. I loved bath and bodyworks cucumber melon but there was an astringent quality to it that made my throat sore and stung my nose. This focuses more on the cucumber and its a much more mellow cucumber scent. The vetiver pairs really well. Not quite as ozonic as green tea and cucumber but that perfume still has the astringent problem. 10/10 would recommend

It got me a compliment from my girlfriend, and that's incredibly rare for me because she's so used to me wearing colognes and she thinks i have way too many! Lol

The best predominantly cucumber fragrance I've ever tried. So glad I stumbled upon this.
