Raw Gold Extrait de Parfum

One of the most artistically compelling creations in my collection is Raw Gold. Few fragrances truly challenge me, yet this one did deeply. At first encounter, it radiated such a vivid whiskey accord that I could hardly wear it. Whiskey had once been my favored drink, tied to memories I no longer wished to revisit, and the scent stirred those echoes too vividly. So I set the bottle aside, allowing it to rest in quiet darkness. Half a year later, while introducing the fragrance to a friend, something remarkable had occurred, as if the perfume had matured in silence, rewriting itself. Suddenly it revealed a beauty I had never seen: mesmerizing, magnetic, and utterly addictive. Dense, dark leather - thick as lacquer and textured like old resin - forms its backbone, while Orris lends a touch of rough, almost dusty powder. Vanilla drapes over the bold, borderline feral leather, softening its edges and infusing the structure with a gentle, glowing sweetness. The composition feels both airy and weighty at once, like a heavy velvet curtain lifted by a passing breeze. And above this shifting tapestry, a faint wisp of smoky whiskey still lingers: now transformed, elegant, and evocative. It carries the peaty whisper of Lagavulin, a ghost of fire and smoke that enriches rather than overwhelms. Raw Gold is a fragrance that unfurls best under a moody sky, in the kind of dim, rain-washed atmosphere where everything feels a touch more cinematic, a touch more poetic. Here, its majesty reveals itself fully. (We've had this kind of weather in southern Finland for weeks now, so I'm taking advantage of it and admiring scents that don't suit the hot and bright air.) I never tryied to raw gold Edp (the limited edition one), but i always saw people talking about how underrated the perfume was and how fantastic it was, to be honest i was always mad beacuse im a sucker for boozy fragrances(keep this in mind), and being limited, I knew that it would be very difficult to smell it and have it (for many reasons). With the reformulation and me loving the new bottles, i became even more curious to know the DNA of Thomas de Monaco and how it could smell Days later, searching where I could smell it, I noticed that one niche store in my city had it, so it became my mission. When I saw the frag and I held it on my and (don't know why, but I was really nervous), I did a few sprays on the paper and my jaw dropped. I was with a person, and they said at first that they didn't like it that much, "it was too strong and literally smells like whiskey" These 2 reasons made me really love the fragrance since the first second that i smelled it, i noticed the notes from the 1 reformulation,: the licour/whiskey,plum, leather, lipstick,saffron,patchouli and makes the perfume unique and BEATIFUL. With this i can say that the perfumer Maurus Bachmann and Thomas de Monaco did a fantastic job on taking the notes and accords presented on this pyramid and still make smell like many people say, like the Raw gold Edp . I can understand that some people want the animals back, but I really think that this is truly a MASTERPIECE Its easy an 10/10 and on of the boozyiest frags out here and i love it (im kind of addicted to this fragrance) Im really pumped to smell all things Thomas de Monaco and what he was planned for the future i just want to see more and more

Is there a perfume you crave, something you smell every day just to experience its scent again? Raw Gold is that kind of fragrance. A deep, raw honey note dominates the opening, thick and golden, with a slight boozy warmth, like honey drizzled over aged wood. It is rich but never overwhelming, indulgent yet effortlessly smooth. As it settles, the buttery smoothness of orris melts into the honey, creating a suede-like texture that feels soft and almost tangible on the skin. Powdery and creamy, it wraps around you, making it impossible not to keep sniffing your wrist. As it develops, subtle notes begin to unfold. A whisper of patchouli lingers in the background, adding just enough depth without turning earthy. A touch of vanilla weaves through, warm and comforting, and just when it feels almost too rich, the slight green sharpness of davana peeks through, keeping everything perfectly balanced. Raw Gold is an obsession that lingers not just on your skin, but in your mind. Long after it fades, I find myself searching for its trace on my wrist and my sweater, craving just one more breath of it. It is the scent I think about, even when I am wearing something else.

Raw gold extrait is pure poetry. A hyper intense release of honey, mixed with davana and attacked notes. Sweet and animalic elevated to maximum power. Little by little it enters its heart of patchouli and leather, without losing at any time that power that the honeyed notes give it. As it softens, the woody notes gain strength. Raw gold also gives us dirty and dark touches of tobacco and aromas like coffee. When I tried it for the first time it reminded me a lot of L'envol de Cartier, with that characteristic mixture of iris and honey, but in this case with much more strength, much better performance and with a much more dynamic development. It is becoming one of my favorite perfumes without a doubt, and very noticeably improves on its predecessor in the edp version. I think it's a bomb for the night, ideal for winter.
