Ultima Storia

The most indulgent, softest and prettiest citrus ever, truly unisex Citrus scents are really difficult for me, I just don't like most of them because they are so boring, traditional, linear and usually always masculine. I have been wanting a nice, different citrus scent for a long time, because so far the only citrus I have is "1872 for Women | Clive Christian" and "Burlington 1819 | Roja Parfums" and although I like 1872 and the floral essence in the background is pretty, it sometimes feels too sharp. Burlington on the other hand is amazing Grapefruit scent. Because I'm tired of being disappointed time and time again when searching for a beautiful citrus, I had already given up on it. However, I got the chance to get to know Ultima Storia properly and as the weather warmed up, it gradually grew on me until I saw and smelled its full beauty and it really started to shine on my skin. It truly is a unique citrus scent because of its gentleness. The scent opens as usual, very clearly citrusy, bright and fresh, but it is not at all sharp or pungent. Gentle leather is wrapped around it from the beginning. The composition acquires a subtle sweetness from the pear and it balances the tartness from the citrus. Such extreme softness like here is rare in citrus scents and it has been achieved through a skillful blend of notes. Cotton and talcum powder create an indulgent, soft texture, while Iris adds extremely fine powdery touch to it yet maintaining a vibrant, sun-kissed character. I can't smell Almonds or coffee but Almond finishes this creation with an elegant, shy creaminess, making it the most pleasant citrus scent I've ever encountered. What I especially like about this citrus scent is that it doesn't have spices or vetiver mixed in, and the absence of those notes takes away the traditional masculinity that is found in hundreds of citrus scents. The scent itself doesn't seem groundbreaking, especially to those who like most citrus scents, but for a picky snob like me, it's something special that you can't find in other citruses. The longevity is good, around 7 hours and the sillage is sufficient. It's not a monster in any way but it's not intimate either. Thank you for reading, I hope my review was helpful. Pafory Advent Calendar 2025 – Day 15 First impression? Oh wow. This is so good. It opens bright and juicy - citrus, but softened almost immediately by a sweet, nutty almond that rounds everything off. Nothing sharp, nothing screechy. Just smooth, inviting light. Then the heart appears and... yeah, this is where it gets addictive. Powdery pear - perfectly judged sweetness - with the faintest hint of coffee drifting underneath. Not bitter, not gourmand. Just enough to give depth and tension. And the base? Genius. A beautifully ambiguous blend of leather, talc, linen and Clearwood. Or maybe it’s linen first, dusted with talc, wrapped in soft leather and clean woods. Honestly, it’s hard to tell where one note ends, and another begins - and that’s exactly why it works so well. Instant love. Properly impressed. A quiet, masterfully blended masterpiece. That said... €275 for 50ml? My heart says yes. My wallet says absolutely not. Full review coming. It's the best citrus I've ever tried. It actually has character....a story.....depth. It projects and lasts. I've tried dozens and dozens of citrus fragrances and they are all either using the "Amalfi Coast" inspiration that's tired and boring. Or they are overly sweet and trying to find an island vibe....also overdone and tired. This is masculine-leaning but could be worn confidently by any gender. The leather is not the over-done strong suede leather that Tom Ford made famous. This is a more of a subtle leather that just gives the citrus something to rest on. It's strong and confident. It has the performance of a heavy winter fragrance but is bright and fresh and should be worn in warm weather. The price is nuts. I'm still trying to figure out how I can justify it. But it's worth the debate. 10/10.

Niche December Contestant 15: This is basically the "serious lemon" that I so love in Eros Flame, but in a niche version. After some time, it evolves into a more typical niche base (wood-leather-thingy), with a bit of fruitiness from the pear. It holds well, projects good, and is overall a great pick for everyday wear, with a single exception. THE PRICE. Just... why? Headline "Niche perfumery raises prices because they figured out a bigger number". 260 Euro is already a lot for a frag, but then you find out that the bottle is only 50ml. Scent is a solid 9/10, price is "why" out of 10. Also made me think about a thing. Maybe I will extend Niche December until the 31st with reviews of more well-known niches.

Ive never been blown away by a "freshie" quite like this before. Every facet of it is so perfectly rounded, its nuances shine through the simplicity. Is $345/50ml an insane price for a relatively simple citrus foward fragrance? In theory yes, but I have enough $300+ complex, rich, deep, fragrances ready for special occasions that may come once or twice a year. This is for someone who wants to smell just incredible every single other day of the year
