Frénésie

This perfume is a trick pony. Like others mentioned its very hard to pinpoint what this fragrance actually smells like but all I know it smells so good I had to buy it. I bought the "Sport No. 4" for myself and this No. 5 for my father. This perfume actually changes scents after a few minutes of drying. When the lady at Dillards sprayed it on the test paper I was skeptical at first but it changed to something beautiful and UNIQUE after about 3-4 minutes of drying. Its Floral and yet sweet, lasts for a very long time, at least 7 hours. It leaves a scent trail and I haven't smelled anything like this in my life, ever. Beware, it can easily make you nose blind. This perfume is so unique I am actually buying 3 more for my uncles in Europe. I know they will appreciate this cologne. Thomas Kosmala has another one called the "Soul of the Sun" I am trying to get my hands on. I have tried almost all of the Frenesie 1-10 and No. 5 and No. 7 smelled the best to me but I chose the No. 5. This is what the bottle says: Top Notes: Bergamot, Magnolia, Gardenia Middle Notes: Rose, Peony, Osmanthus Base Notes: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood.

Tart, bright & juicy,sweet burst of honeyed green mango + white floral & pink roses. This is such a complex & unique scent for me and was actually trying so hard to accurately describe this particular perfume from Thomas Kosmala. This perfectly captured yellow green mango, mango that is not fully ripened, at this time it taste so sweet and sour as well and is so addicting(if you grew up in a country with lots of different mango varieties like me~) I do not care so much for the notes breakdown listed here. Becomes more sweetened, candied sweetness but still juicy mango with creaminess which reminds me of a freshly made mango thick shake one that is very generous on mangoes and vanilla ice cream all at the same time floral aspect still remains. Tart, juicy sweetened floral gourmand-ish. I don't have anything like this and I love it. This may sound like a tropical perfume for summer and spring but this can be an all year round casual, office friendly, signature scent worthy as well . I dont get any incense or smokiness.

To best way I can describe this smell is tropical. It smells like a tropical fruit and flower smoothie, but not edible. At first it smells traditionally feminine but settles down to a unisex scent because there is a slight bitter (not unpleasant) note that develops to balance the sweetness. This is a strong and long-lasting fragrance. You will definitely go nose-blind and it's very easy to overspray, as a result. The cotton candy note in the drydown is my only complaint about this fragrance. Frenesie layers really well. In fact, I would say this plays beautifully with other fragrances. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that layering Frenesi with Tiziana Terenzi Ursa reminded me of the very last stages of Tom Ford Black Orchid's dry-down. I have also layered it with Gucci Guilty Absolute, Thomas Kosmala No.8 Tonic Vert, and Dior Jules with much success. Batch Code: G0G23 - The clear liquid version.

Such a beautiful fresh airy floral fragrance with remnants of br540 in the dry down. Not to be confused with the notes above, the original formula ie yellow liquid has these notes but it was completely reformulated into a much brighter fragrance ie ( clear liquid) musk, amber and sandalwood in the base instead of incense and oud. The original formula is completely different and quite oudy and masculine in the opening. Performance is pretty good too. Nothing like no 4 but definitely a moderate sillage ( imo but yet to trial it in an open setting around others outside) and with outstanding longevity. It garnered quite a few compliments and hard not to like. No 4 is your typical br540 on steroids but great for layering No 10 much the same with a touch of sauvage No 5 favourite so far and best in warmer weather compared to above

This is a really nice easy to wear scent. It is a mix between JHAG Magnolia bliss with a bal D'afrique and then a dry down that is a better version of Light Blue. It is fresh, citrussy and slightly floral and there is something in it making it light and airy and addicting. Has a citrus musky woody dry down. The notes here on fragrantica indicate incense and oud but I don't detect these at all and the pamphlet it came with does not mention them either. Notes as provided by the brand: Top: Bergamot, Magnolia, Gardenia Middle: Rose, Peony, Osmanthus Base: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood Is it groundbreaking? No, but I really do like it. It is quite long lasting for this type of profile and a perfect scent for warmer weather or temperate climates. I will be wearing year round in Florida.

I was on a mission to find a new scent. It was a hot summer afternoon so I decided to walk the mall and find something that would be a floral scent without coming across as feminine. Being that I'm of Polynesian descent, the Tahitian gardenia called Tiaré has been on my mind. Feeling a little homesick, I wanted a scent that would remind me of home. Although this scent doesn't have the tiaré flower as part of its DNA, it reminds me of the tropics. It's sweet and can smell quite strong at first. The dry down is very nice and it lasts all day on my skin. I notice when I sweat, the scent is recharged and people around me can smell it from a distance. I feel that both sexes can use this scent. I highly recommend this perfume.

What a beauty! (Clear Juicy) Frenesie is full of nuances ! it’s sweet, powdery citrusy, soft, creamy and effortlessly seductive. Fresh and joyful, yet with a unique personality that makes it stand out. I see myself wearing it as an everyday fragrance, especially in spring and summer, but honestly, it’s versatile enough for any time of year. For me, Frenesie is the perfect floral scent, with the ideal balance between flowers and sweetness If I had to mention something, I wish it had a bit more power and stronger sillage it’s such a beautiful scent that I’d love for it to leave a bigger trail. Still, it’s playful, radiant, and simply delightful. Love it 10/10

NOTE: This perfume has been reformulated and smells quite different than it used to (so I've heard, I've never smelled the original). The new version knocked me out! Strawberries and fresh fruit on top, with something sweet and slightly candied underneath. Up close I can faintly make out an oud, but it's very easy on the nose. UPDATE: This is something of a shape-shifter. It has a woodiness that makes it unisex, I think. I always recommend trying before you buy, but if you like things like BR540 (though this doesn't smell like that) you might like its style as well.

Just got a tester bottle from Jomashop for a birthday gift after smelling it at Dillards and falling in love! This is an easy reach for year round...I agree it has similarly liekable, classy, elegant unisex DNA to Bal D’afrique and BR540 but yet different... Something about it smells familiar and comforting but that I can’t quite put my finger on...my mom wore DG Light Blue growing up and the citrus, subtle soapiness nods to that maybe? Really all around lovely and I am so glad to have this one in my collection. Safe blind buy in my opinion!

The old one was barnyard oud, the new one is love floral musky fragrance with remnants of br540 in the very dry down. The good reviews are for the clear liquid.

Batch H0G23 (clear liquid), bought last month: green, clean, fresh, woody-aromatic. In the style of De Bachmakov, Philosykos, Erawan. It starts off raw, airy, and crisp - like freshly snapped spring branches. As it evolves, a tart, powdery bergamot note appears, like Delina but without the rose. Longevity is excellent, with moderate projection. Beautiful and feminine.

Recently bought for my wife and I can smell it in the room she applied it hours later. This perfume does something to my senses and it is intoxicating! Fresh scent that develops over its life cycle into woody amber scent. Everytime she wears this scent I want to make more children.

This is so good. Great daytime scent that is sweet and fresh. I can’t imagine this would be offensive in the workplace or on an airplane. The oud is virtually undetectable. A light citrusy floral fragrance that is very well executed.

A full-bodied white floral oud with indolic qualities. There's an initial shock, a blast of gardenia with a dark urinous oud... It does dry down to become creamier as time goes by so do try it on your skin.

Love it! Sweet Saffron and bergamot citrous blast grounded with musky, ambery woodiness. It's not loud or over powering as some described. Anyways, this makes me happy and is signature worthy.

A delicious intense floral woods... I smell tuberose, gardenia, magnolia blended with incense to create a bit of a hookah like smell. Two or three sprays will last all day. Best tried on skin

very pretty sweet floral with a warm amber drydown. it’s like a hybrid of delina/fleur narcotique/lust in paradise. excellent projection, longevity and sillage.

This fragrance is nice, but unfortunately not for me. The notes shown here on Fragrantica are not accurate. As Thomas Kosmala's official website states this perfumes has: Top notes: Bergamot, Magnolia and Gardenia Middle notes: Rose, Peony and Osmanthus Base notes: Musk, Amber, Sandalwood. As I mentioned earlier, it smells good, it has great longevity and projection, but it is not for me. I'm selling a full bottle of this perfume for €120, if you are interested you can find me on Vinted giuliamcarosi. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Smells like fruity-floral shampoo. It's very pretty and well-balanced; an unobtrusive sweet and fresh office fragrance that could be worn year-round. It's not a fragrance that I would buy for myself (overpriced), but I would definitely use if someone gifted to me. Mood is everything shower with Herbal Essences haircare products. Projection and sillage are low-moderate, longevity is fine at ~5h.

The initial combination of notes is a bit odd - vaguely animalic and floral. Dried down I'm still not sure how I feel. There's floral incense, and wood. Cologneblanche mentions a hookah like smell and I agree. It reminds me exactly of that - an almost melon like sweetness hangs around. The smoky incense keeps me interested...

Hey folks. This smells like when you first walk into a Bath and Body store. Seriously. Grab a lotion from there and compare the 2. This is a nice scent but not for the price. You can get the same scent from a B&BW lotion. It only last about 4 hours total for me.

Fresh, clean floral shampoo vibes, but with a little warmth and body. This is somewhat unique because of the musky amber dry down. Frenesie is a great choice if you want a warm, clean, floral scent that is unobtrusive and mass appealing. Very strong and surprisingly like a combo of pre-reform Alien with the dryness of Alien Oud Majesteux (the woody dryness) mixed in. I was thinking why is it so familiar? I like it though it’s redundant given I have old Alien and AOM.... Anyone else get that experience?

This parfum is strong strong strong! It is sooo intense, it makes me nauseous. What a shame, because I love it soooo much! Just can’t wear it without getting sick and overwhelmed by the over powering smell. Maybe my nose is just too sensitive to the notes.

Its White Oud of Thomas Kosmala converted to No.5. Floral scent completely, mainly. I kind of like it, but won't buy it again. Even with England variant it doesn't performs well as compared to other thomas kosmala perfumes

I bought this perfume thinking that it will be sweet and floral, it is floral indeed, however it is very clean, not sweet and I could say that it's perfect for summer. It smells like soap, you can smell the lemon zest, the citrusy, woody, a bit floral. I was actually complimented by two men! It's perfect for summer if you are looking for a clean, woody, light floral perfume.

I didn’t get any Bal D’Afrique, which I have and have loved for many years; this gave me more like Replica Bubble Bath Margiela soapy bubble clean but intense and fruitier and also with really nice non heady magnolia. Lasted all day. Clean girl but in a classier way; simply beautiful. Magnolia lovers will adore this!

Floral clean scent....I would say it leans more feminine because of the floral-ness, but I enjoy it.....liked it better on the test strip than my skin, but once the floral's dim a bit (roughly 5-10 mins) its good....wouldn't recommend for men to overspray unless they are willing to endure the sharp floral opening...

Smells just like the blue bergamot hair grease my mom used on me in the 90s. The incense and rose would make this really attractive to me if they were more pronounced, but as they hide in the background I can't see myself wearing this. Not a bad scent by any means, I just don't want to smell like hair grease.

Criminally underrated. It's got everything you could want if you like big and complex fragrances. Bouqet of flowers, oud, musk, some smokey amber undertones. Ultra-nuclear for real. 10/10 imo

not for all, the oud is surrounded by many florals, if florals is not your thing this will overwhelm you, very potent juice, damn

This is Byredo Bal d’afrique. Very good scent. Incredible performance and silage. 8.5/10
