No4 Sport

Ok so here my updated review on this fragrance. But 1st: @leggomyprada my guy, wtf have you sampled? This is nowhere near the realm of BR540 DNA. It doesnt even have any BR540 notes! This is a citrus agave Freshie. Stay off the white. Ok anyway. This is a Green/Blue citrus/agave freshie. Super potent. Has zero wood notes or amber/ambergis which makes this a super freshie. At first spray you get hit with a LOVELY blast of grapefruit, lemon and bergamot. It lingers there for a good 2 hours before it blends more with the base. The base is agave/melon which is there from the beginning all the way to the end. The Ozonic and Sea Notes gives this fragrance a freshie vibe. Its perfectly blended. Sophisticated I must say. I was wondering why this freshie smells so addictive to me and I think its because of the agave/melon/pineapple base. Its very unique smelling, fresh but at the same time DENSE. Its definitely a Fougere, a fruit fougere with a fresh vibe. The best way to describe this fragrance is Green and Blue. It morphs from a Green Freshie to a Blue Freshie and back and forth. Very unique. It doesnt smell anything like Neon No 4. Why do the reviewers call it "the original No 4"? Very weird, its called Neon No.4 and Neon is super sweet, its not a citrus/agave freshie like Sport No.4. Performance on this one surprised me. On my skin its at least 10 hours easily and still leaving a scent trail after 5-6 hours. Its an EDP and I thing the agave/melon/pineapple base is whats giving this fragrance such a long projection. Most perfumes use ouds, ambergis or woods for their freshie to last longer, this one uses agave/melon/pineapple. The base is very dense thats what makes this project like a fougere. Even after a shower I can smell the agave/melon. Very potent. The aquatic notes and sea notes give it a touch or 2 of freshness. Projection: at least 10 hours on my skin. Still there even after a shower. Sillage: 5 hours easily, maybe even longer. It becomes a STRONG skin scent after 5-6 hours. It might be still leaving a scent trail actually. Scent: 10/10. Unique. I will always buy a bottle of this.

Conflicting reviews below. Here's my take: The notes are deceiving - this is fairly close to the original No 4 and definitely has that base BR540 Extrait / Mancera Instant Crush DNA. However it takes that in a slightly different direction. The sweetness is slightly more fruity and the cotton-candy vibe of BR540 is dialed back. It has just a touch of Ultra Male DNA in the sweet aspects, although not nearly as overall sweet. The fresh notes are not very apparent, but altogether they do lift this a little from it's previous iteration making it a little more versatile. It projects a little less than the original No 4 (which I might add is nuclear) but does leave a nice scent trail that will get you compliments. Longevity is awesome. This lasts 10-12 hours on skin. Overall a super addictive take on the BR540 DNA. Everyone who has smelled this on me loves it.

I got to sample this at a Dillard's, smelled it on a test strip, and just had to try it on my skin! I'm not normally a fruity fragrance kind of guy, but this is a big exception. The fruitiness is complimented by the greenness from the agave and the freshness of the ozonic notes, which both remind me of being a little kid in Arizona. The ozone really shines through in the dry down. It lasts a good long while, and I kept getting whiffs of it without having to sniff my wrist for a good 7 hours. Even into the very next day, I could smell it in my memory, it had such an impression on me. I need to add this to my collection, as it would add some variety to my usual taste in woody floral fragrances.

Great perfume! I am still puzzled with what it reminds of so much, but what I can already tell about it - it's a sweet smell, sweeter version of the existing N4 maybe? If you expect some fresh citrusy perfume - don't get fooled And I would not say it's filling the entire room, as one of the previous commenters suggested, but it's definitely projecting from your skin, not skin scent like (tho I expected more from it, having tried classic N4 and N10 before)

The green part of this juice ( The Agave ) makes this perfume very, but very well defined and balanced, not too sweet, not too green, it's just perfect for summer and spring, for sure is addictive, and the best part is going to bring you lots of compliments!

a cool niche fragrance, good longevity but mid performance which disappointed me. even boring scent due to bubblegumish smell but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, also nice presentation I like the green bottle which looks vibey. nevermind, its my top 5 now!

this was my signature in the summer and spring smells like melon and some citrus and has that crazy water note that makes it feel like waves hitting your nose when it projects off your skin 8.9/10

I put 5 stars to even out the rating here, as i believe its a perfect summer rendition of the original No. 4 This could be a stand alone summer time signature scent.

Fizzy citrus, airy, pleasant, mildly sweet. Shines best in high heat/humid environment. Longevity 4-6 hours Easy to love.

Below: the guy who owns 7 fragrances and thinks "everything matches it's notes." Your nose is broken my friend.

Commenting mainly in response to the posts made by @StreetEvident and @leggomyprada. I have to side with @leggomyprada and I agree that the conflicting reviews of this fragrance are at least partially reflective of misleading listed notes. I am not sure if the BR540 comparison is warranted, but this fragrance is easily identifiable as part of the No.4 Apres l'Amour family (more so than Neon or Candy). @StreetEvident has seemingly mistaken other comments alluding to the similarity between Sport and the "original" No.4 Apres l'Amour as a comparison between Sport and Neon. I agree that Sport and Neon smell quite different, but it is simply not true that Sport has "zero wood notes or amber/ambergis" or that it is a "super freshie." From the Kosmala website: "No.4 Sport is an invigorating yet intricate experience within the Après l’Amour family. Bright top notes of Lemon, Grapefruit and Bergamot embrace with freshness. Melon, Agave and Pineapple add a gourmand character to the ever-present spice of the middle notes - which never shy away from the forefront. Lastly, Ozonic Notes and Sea Water - combined with the iconic molecular base - allows you to experience an olfactive mosaic of vitality and sophistication; guaranteed to uplift and entice." The key to deciphering fragrance depends on familiarity with the "iconic molecular base." Again from the Kosmala website (description for No.4 Apres l'Amour): "This nuanced, multi-layered scent captures the erotic energy and languorous mood of skin meeting skin. Bitter orange and lemon zest add zip to the top notes before cooling down to a base of wood, musk and amber." This very much contrasts with the idea of this fragrance being a "super freshie" or having "zero wood notes or amber/ambergis." In my opinion imagining the notes listed above layed on top of those listed for Apres l'Amour is a pretty accurate description of what you could expect. Overall, the fragrance is interesting and unique, if not a bit muddled. I appreciate the evolution, but the citrus here are particularly fleeting. As others have commented this is not a safe fresh/citrus blind buy. After the initial punch of pineapple, bergamot, grapefruit and lemmom, what emerges is a fruitier/sweeter version of the original No. 4. I don't agree with the review claiming the scent is synthetic but it certainly doesn't convey (linearly) the scent profile that notes might suggest. I also don't get much from the aquatic and ozonic notes that are supposed to round out the base. They are there but, like other reviewers have noted, not particularly present. As a side note, I recently picked up a bottle of Mancera Cinque Terre and despite the very different notes and main accords listed, I feel that these fragrances share a similar core DNA. That said, Cinque Terre is definitely woodier and saltier, whereas No. 4 Sport is sweeter and jucier.

I agree with FragQueen - I had the same experience. I was at Dillard's and tested No. 4 Sport, and it was beautiful. I sprayed it on my skin and was seriously considering buying the fragrance. It was a good thing I decided to walk around the mall for a bit because I know with fragrances you can be amazed with the dry-down or, in this case, disappointed. The dry-down is not good with this one. I wanted to like it, and I even had the lady make me a little sample bottle to give it a second chance. Needless to say, the second chance didn't go so well either. I love Thomas Kasmala No7, Star Chaser and No4 Neon. I guess they all can't be winners.

I didn't buy it, but I tried it in one of the stores, I am a guy who hate sea note (Marine) alot, I think sea note just ruin every single fragrance that has it, But here in n4 sport it's kinda acceptable, it's not too heavy on sea note. The notes just blended so well. I don't like it though I don't hate it, it's ok but I wouldn't wear it myself. I give it 6/10. Longevity and projection is good though.

Got this in today and blind bought it based off the notes. I couldn’t find any reviews on it so these are my thoughts: It’s a good fragrance but it’s definitely not as fresh as I was expecting. I don’t really get any sea notes which I was hesitant to buy because of that since I don’t like calone/aquatics. At the same time I almost wish a little more was in here to make it fresher. To me this is a really fruity/sweet fragrance that’s heavy on melon and agave. I only smell the bergamot and lemon in the very very beginning but after that it’s mainly melon and agave I get with some pineapple in the back. I wouldn’t call this a “sport” fragrance because to me the No.4 Neon in this line smells a lot fresher than this one. That being said I like it, but it’s not a love and I don’t think this would be a safe blind but for someone expecting something fresh/clean. This is a very sweet/tropical type of scent so if that’s something that interests you I’d say you’d enjoy this. I much rather prefer No.4 Neon to this but I’ll still enjoy this one in the warmer months to come.

The name and the notes listed are just ridiculous. There's nothing sporty here!! Don't believe the hype. It's so boring. It smells very early 00's men's "cologne." I'm getting a light, fresh tobacco, slightly earthy scent. Yes, go figure! The comparison to Armani Code are actually correct. It's available at Harrods, if you're in the UK.

When I sprayed it in the store, I was instantly addicted— normally, a fragrance called “Sport” wouldn’t even begin to catch my attention. But now that I’m wearing it at home, it feels like it smells completely different— a great opening, but the dry down is very cleaning-spray feeling on my skin. I normally don’t go for any sort of aquatic notes and tend to get a very bile-y thing from grapefruit notes. All of that said, the composition is genuinely very balanced. I don’t think I’ll wear it again, but it’s definitely for someone.

I hope that Agave is popping like Blue Agave (Richard Herpins), that is soooooo beautiful!!!! Im copping this asap to see. ALLLLL BLIND! 😮💨😤💪🏼💪🏼

Smells extremely synthetic & green. Like AI tried to recreate the scent of walking through a fresh forest from memory

It's good nothing crazy a little different but good. Those getting Br540 must not know what Br540 smells like imo.

Aaahhhhh all the people who suck at life dogshitting this one already... sad people
