Tonic Vert

Tonic Vert by Thomas Kosmala is one of the best layered scents I have ever come across because I really do get a chance to smell all of the notes as the fragrances dries and changes on my skin. The opening is citrus-green and smells of limes and sparkling bergamot. As it dries I pick up on the pomelo, mint, and geranium. In the base I smell vetiver, oakmoss, mandarin orange, and a pleasant hint of a soft skin musk. I love green scents but I am very particular about the way the “green” scent presents itself. Nothing too grassy or bitter or flat, it has to have character and depth and Tonic Vert is giving me life! The vetiver is smooth, the oakmoss compliments everything, and the mint with the citrus notes blends with the floral-spicyness of the geranium. My sense of smell feels like it is being kissed! I love Tonic Vert, it so well done and the longevity is amazing!

I got this last spring or summer and love it, and have recommended it several times for the “uniqueness” and longevity (lasts all day on me). It really is a nice fragrance. The “problem” is that I just acquired Creed Aberdeen Lavender, which came out a few years prior. This is the closest 1:1 fragrance that isn’t from a clone house that I’ve come across in a while. I mean, it smells exactly the same to me. I can’t say it ruined the smell of this fragrance per-se since it smells so good, but it’s really a letdown that such a nice profile is in fact a mirror image of one that came out before. Now to decide if I want to keep the Creed, or this one. The Creed is basically full and is the OG, so even though I won’t get much for my partial of this I’m leaning towards keeping the Creed, mostly out of principle but also I’ll have more to use.

Very unique Vetiver/green fragrance. The lime really shines in this one. It softens but not quite to the point of barber shop. I love that there’s no patchouli. That, along with the bright citrus, makes this a great hot weather green cologne. I have other green colognes I like better, but none that are this perfect for high heat. Edit: I see the St Barts comparison. I see it a bit only because of the lime. So I layered St Barts over Vert (5-2) It tones down the more mature Vetiver barber shop dry down. Very high quality, rich smelling fragrance.

a beautiful refreshing citrus scent, it really puts a smile on my face, i love it. 9/10 i don't get much development, the opening is very lime-y.. after 30 min or so it settles and the aok-moss appears & makes it little bit smooth. sadly it performances poorly, doesn't last more than 2 hours on skin, same on clothes with very shy sillage.

I received a small sample of this with my latest fragrance haul for summer. Tried a small amount from the tiny tester, and immediately ordered a bottle. This stuff is as stated below: bracing, green, fresh, spicy, strong, etc. *Edit - someone commented this smells like a strong lemon cleaner which ruined this for me.

Very clean and fresh citrus fruity fragrance with light vetiver in the background. You cant go wrong with it. Performance and projection slighlty above average.

This is quite amazing! Fresh, spicy, long lasting. A reinterpretation of the classic "eau de cologne" but niche and high end.

Love this one, bitter, green, refreshing summer scent. Very masculine, performance is very good too.

I’m really enjoying this. This is what Tommy Bahama St. Barts could have been.

The best adjective for the opening of this fragrance is "bracing". When I first spray it on, all I get is lime, bergamot and very herbal mint. The oak moss and geranium come in a little later. Though, I would never have identified it as a geranium myself. I would say it is more of a musky floral note peeking through the top notes. I think this fragrance leans a little more masculine than unisex. The lime-mint opening doesn't completely go away until the very late drydown, so it does remind me a little of old school Italian-style aftershave. This is a very enjoyable fragrance that lifts my mood whenever I use it. Longevity is a little better than your average designer EdT, but not as good as it should be. The bottle is simple and somewhat elegant. The atomizer is fantastic.

Bitter lime and bergamot combination in the opening, before mint and the earthy combination of oakmoss and vetiver joins in, on a light musk base. Dont actually get that much lemon in the beginning. I get this citrusy combination with bitterness throughout its life on my skin. Towards the end, the lime and lemon are left with soft musk. Its a reminiscence of classic italian cologne, but with that nice earthy mix and musk provides a twist. The sillage is moderate but the longevity is rather low, almost gone within 4-5 hours.

I really like this vetiver focus scent. Vetiver note in my experience is normally used in woodsy fragrance such as Encre Noire / Sycomore and most of the time, this type of scent profile is more warm and spicy which is suitable for evening occasions. However, I think this perfume is breaking the norm here and bring a more bright / crisp / clean feeling to the vetiver. A suitable perfume for the morning / sporty / warm weather activities.

I have Basso and feel silly owning it because these 2 are so close. I would be willing to say Basso was inspired by this one. I also have G&B Bohemian Lime that I need to do side by side although the G&B is weak and this is NOT! This one has the right price compared to the other 2. After about 10 minutes this is beautiful. A little harsh/astringent in that 1st 10 minutes.

Impressed by TK4, I decided to try TK8. After applying on 2 different occasions, I felt it reminded me of something. Somehow, I was unable to recall what it was. Then my mind clicked and I realized it was similar to Terre D'Hermes EDT. It's good. Smells fresh and projects well. But overall, Terre D'Hermes is a better option in terms of sillage, projection and price.

This fragrance is nice bright and inoffensive. Good summer daytime office scent. It doesn’t last particularly long and isn’t revolutionary in any way but is overall a well blended & a well thought out scent with an easy to get along with profile.

The mint and bergamot sold me on this one. Spicy and citrus that develops and lasts. I’m impressed.

I have a sample with a swizzle stick, and upon first application it's an overwhelming licorice accord to my nose. Very pointed, aromatic, herbal, and pretty astringent. Once that settled down after a minute or so, I found the geranium to be the strongest note in this fragrance, still very aromatic and up front and center in your nose after the opening. The citrus is present, but really takes a backseat to the geranium on me. I get a sense of something cetalox-y or Iso-E Super-y, again something rather alcoholic and astringent. This reads on the masculine side of unisex to me, perhaps a little too aftershave-like for me to wear as a woman (albeit a woman often wears "masculine" scents). After a long time, once the astringent notes have faded, I'm left with a very close skin scent of vetiver and musk. Nothing really green about this to me, which was a little disappointing for a "Tonic Vert." Decent longevity. I didn't find the projection to be notable, though that may be different with an atomizer. My overall impression is a 6/10.

very sharp opening, green and bitter, no hint of sweetness, little less sharp edges will do, its ok fragrance.

Is your everyday woodsy-citrus summer perfume, lasting a long day's work.

This is a very weak performer. I hardly get 1 hour if i spray 12-14 sprays. very disappointing!
