Bois De Santal

I bought a few of the 10ml bottles from Thomson Carter, I have read other reviews that have said they're a lot of marketing hype but some of the scent profiles stood out to me so I thought I'd give them a go. I actually got Bois De Santal just to fill up a trio pack, as the scent profile seemed a little basic. However, I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised. To me, the opening was a bit harsh, the harshness you sometimes smell in cheaper perfumes, an unintentional alcoholic scent from the juice itself, rather than intended scent. The price point of Thomson Carter is equal to that of your average Designer, so I was initially a little concerned and disappointed. That being said, once that initial hit wore off, the scent left behind was actually something quite special. Fresh, yet manly, and still very much a spring / summer fragrance, a combination not often done very well in my opinion. Obviously fragrances and smells are very subjective, but to me this is a scent that I would happily wear to the office or going out with friends in the appropriate months. In terms of performance, I've not had the chance to fully stress test it, so I may come back and update my review later, but my skin is horrendous for longevity across the board, so it's not a reflection of this perfume to say that it gave me 1-2 hours projection and a skin scent for 4-5. I am pale and white, and have extremely poor hydration, so read into that what you will. Overall, initial impression is actually really positive, I'd give it a solid 8/10, but will update my review after further usage. But if long term testing reflects my initial experience, I'd definitely consider grabbing the 100ml bottle, tbc!

I expected it to be a little boring since it has such a simple makeup, but it's gorgeous. Extremely wearable, very comforting. I'll see how it performs over time, but so far it's a firm favourite. The citrus opening is especially lovely. I'm usually not a huge fan of neroli, but that gives way to the creamy sandalwood just right.

I wore this today and i found it extremely pleasent on me. It has lasted over 6 hours, i get the bergamot and neroli all the time, its definately a spring fragrance , would i buy it maybe the 10ml for putting in my pocket if i was out and about in a warm climate, as i live in the UK i shall have to wait until the spring and summer time to see if it lasts as long.

Bois De Santal was my first fragrance, and it holds a special place in my heart because of that. There’s a very sharp opening, but it dries down to be a lovely, woody fresh scent. Very unisex/masculine which I also love. It smells like a clean, polished man haha.

On me this smells exactly like the detergent inside children's bubble blowing tubes. Part of a Thompson Carter discovery set. I won't be getting a full bottle but it did make me smile!
