Jade Matcha

I live in the heart of Texas and it gets HOT here! I'm very fond of deep, sultry, sexy, fragrances but they can be very off putting in high temperatures. I have been searching for a scent I can wear that is tame enough to wear in the heat but still interesting. I sampled Jade Matcha before buying because my chemistry is quite wonky with fragrances. I really love this perfume. It's light, not powdery, not sweet, not floral but so fresh and agreeable.(I was a big Prescriptives Calyx lover back in the day). It's not the end all be all but for day if you're not a sugary sweet fruity girl like me that wants to smell good this is awesome. The best part is it is so affordable. Like I said, this will not be be a "signature" fragrance but if you want something easy and hmmm, maybe unisex, and you don't want to be an obvious walking Bath and Body Works or Victorias Secret fragrance billboard give this a try. The company is awesome and they believe in using good products if possible. (Fragrance is so finicky) I'm going to fragrance ambush the hub with this and see how it smells on him. He's stuck on frags that EVERY other guy wears and so many of my ex's wear, lol! And I don't smell citrus. I know citrus frag. I love Baby Doll by YSL which is an exception because I like the smell of citrus frags but I don't like to wear them. This has no citrus on me. The Thymes is such a good company and if you contact them I'm sure they would send you free samples (lotion) but otherwise you can order a sample pack for less than $10 of their lotions on their website.

This review is for the lotion, which I have been assured by Thymes, is the same perfume content as the sprays. It goes on fresh and lovely if a bit generic. There is nothing wrong with this. I tend to be sensitive towards overly citrusy scents, but this is not that. It's fresh and green with more of the lemongrass than the lime. Mostly I get the tea note. I wore this while teaching a little piano student and he said I smelled like "brown sugar and tea." I guess he got the tonka and sugar notes more than I did. Overall it's very pretty, but as far as tea scents, Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea scents are cheaper and just as good, IMO. And if you want something really good, then L'Artisan's Tea for Two would be my pick. But that's just me. I LOVE Thymes, but this is not my favorite of their offerings. The longevity of this is quite good, but the silage is quite light. Then again, the overall scent is light, so there's that. I put the lotion on this morning and it's mid-afternoon and I can smell it clearly with my nose a few inches from my arm. Keeping in mind it's the lotion applied to clean skin (one sample worth, which is not a lot). The spray on clothes would probably radiate better and longer.

Beginning: Fresh, green tea, lemony. Dry down: Vanilla with a touch of sweetness peeks out. I don’t get any coconut on me. I won’t repurchase

I don't know what gives this combination, but to me it smells like there's a coconut or coconut milk in there... No fresh lemony bitterness. Sweet, ozonic and coconut-y (which always makes me a bit sick)
