Tiare Monoi

I bought this for nearly nothing a few years ago and didn’t care for it at all. Today I layered it over this amazing orange flower and almond blossom lotion I have and it smells amazing. Really luxurious and expensive. I’m really excited I tried this combination because it’s such a pretty bottle and I wanted something summery with orange flower.

I found this at Marshall's. I'm trying it out this evening. It's early December. I can smell the tiare and jasmine and I think ylang ylang. I was hoping to get more oud, but I can't detect it. It's pretty and I don't find it synthetic at all. I think it'll be a good spring scent.

A powdery, white floral. Very straightforward, and there isn't a pyramidal structure from top to bottom notes. As other reviews mentioned, I do get a bit synthetic feel with this. The mist often overwhelms my nose when I spray on myself. It has a great longevity for a cologne (more than 8 hours overnight), and sillage is moderate, so it's probably closer to an EDT. It's definitely not worth the retail price of $50, but it's OK for $12 at Marshall's.

This should be much better than it is. I got it on discount, it is fine, but I do get a powder synthetic feel. I'm going to give it to my daughter. I gave my other Thymes fragrance, Vanilla Ambrette, to my son. I like that one better than this one and would wear it, but still I have better versions of that type that I'm more likely to wear. Thymes scents are pretty bottles and I think a very nice gift for teenagers who want a mix for their collection. I have floral perfumes that smell so genuine like petals still on the plant, it's hard to justify something synthetic that doesn't have anything else going for it. I'm really sad to miss out on the ylang and oud in this one, but it just isn't there. Ylang is one of my absolute favorites. I just gave it to her and she said "it kind of smells like baby soap, it's kind of nice" and she liked it.

If someone tried to make cleaning fluid smell like gum and flowers, it would smell like this. They have this on sale right now at Marshall's, and it's repulsive.

Cheap, overly synthetic stuff...

Thanks very much for adding this to the database. I am taken aback by how extremely powdery Tiare Monoi edc wears on my skin. It's primarily a sweet tropical floral with a little woody green sharpness which reads like palm or bamboo, all floating atop a cloud of coumarin/heliotrope POWDER. Almost like a pretty tropical play-doh. It actually reminds me a lot of Kate Moss Vintage. This strikes me as unusual for an interpretation of monoi, but despite the play-doh comparison above, it doesn't smell "weird" by any means. Try it for a slightly different interpretation of the tropical theme. I enjoy the absence of citrus, vanilla, and loud coconut for a change. There is something in the base that is quite reminiscent of other Thymes scents, such as Moon Flower. If you enjoy that Thymes signature base, powder, and white florals, then you will probably enjoy this. Longevity is poor but it's an edc, so I really don't mind.

I get a very synthetic, plastic aroma! Bought this at Marshall's and the sad part is, I tried it on before I bought it! I thought that just maybe the dry down would be heavenly. NOT. Going to ship this one out to my daughter. Maybe it will smell better on her. lol

I just blind bought this for $3.99 at TJ Maxx. I love the soft powdery smell of vanilla, jasmine, plumeria. Smells amazing paired with my body oil. I live in South Florida and I love to wear this to pool parties, barbeques or to the beach!
