Eclix

This fragrance isn't sold in stores in my city (Moscow), even though the brand is well presented almost everywhere. Retailers consider it unpopular. I accidentally read about Eclix on Fragrantica and was intrigued. The notes both repel and entice me—iris and violet appealed, but citrus, sandalwood, almond, and musk were less so. Another feminine gourmand bomb from Terenzi—I might have thought, but the mixed reviews kept me from making a definitive judgment. Finally, I managed to find a sample of the fragrance and discovered it for myself. Instantly, glazed marzipans with a sour citrus flavor, drowning in a cloud of floral-woody powder. Every time I smelt this sample on the very first day, I started sneezing (now not). Funny, but not my thing—that was my first thought. But every time, morning and evening, I buried my nose in that sample again and again: I loved this strange, seemingly abnormal blend of citrus, gourmand, and powdery notes. I applied the scent at night, like pajama, and five days later, having used up the last drop, I knew I needed it. Fruity sweetness and tartness, combined with a fluffy (not stuffy!) violet cloud, softly framed by woody and vanilla-amber notes—this scent truly has something radical, like the lunar eclipse it's dedicated to, and at the same time, alluring and enchanting. I'm so glad I came across it and am enjoying a full bottle of stunning beauty. This is my first Terenzi fragrance—and I thought I'd never put anything like it on my shelf! How wonderful it is that artistic perfumery has the power to broaden our horizons and rediscover ourselves, like good books or encounters with interesting people. I wish you to experience Eclix and its charms! This is a magic potion...

I get that rubber-like smell also. But to me its one of those cases of something smelling all the more gorgeous because it's reminiscent of something ordinary, but not quite like it - more of a sublimated version of it than like it as such. There is actually an article on this phenomenon on this site. And it does indeed work for me: I have quite a few perfumes that bring to mind trivial and not even necessarily very pleasant smelling things on a 'higher olfactory plane' (if you like), and work a magic with me precisely because they do this. The very first thing I thought, instantly, the very first time I tried this in the store was "this smells of rubber party balloons". And every time I went in there for many times afterwards, I just couldn't keep away from this stuff - I just had to have another go on it to get that 'rubber party balloon' smell! And one day I took it to one of the ladies on duty squirted on a card, and said "I think this smells of rubber party ballons!" ... and she agreed! (And I don't think she was bluffing to 'humour' a customer, if I am at all able to discern such things.) And eventually one day, as had become inevitable I think, I broke and acquired it - which was a big thing really, as after all this one is more of a 'major purchase' than many. But I do not regret it at all - it is one of my prize perfume items - as it ought to be, as there are few I have tested quite so thoroughly prior to acquisition and been so patient about.

Another gorgeous powdery perfume creation. :) This is actually very similar to Teint de Neige (my signature and most favorite scent so far), especially in the drydown, but Eclix is definitely brighter and more citrusy (maybe that is why it reminds of Shalimar to some people), with a little bit of green element to it - maybe this makes Eclix a summery version of Teint de Neige for me, kind of, as it has lighter feel to it. The drydown is nice, powdery and woody, slightly creamy, vanillish, as we are used to in the baby powder type of perfumes (I shouldn't forget to mention it also reminds me of Powder Flowers by Montale :D). :) Longevity and sillage are quite good, I would say, it is an intense perfume. For me this is full bottle worthy. :) ...Oh, I forgot to mention that the citrus and almond aspect of it also reminds me of L'Instant Magic by Guerlain.

I’ve had this coming up a year and it’s almost time to break it out again - such a lusciously powdery scent. I wasn’t sure when I first got it but now after more discovery of other fragrances, it’s a love. Fragrances I have acquired or sampled and enjoyed along these lines are Angels Dust, Cuir Amethyst, Habanita (but a bunch more wood), Khôl de Bahrain, Times Square - all carry some of the notes but much of the “feel” of this scent....a whiteness, powdered nostalgia, violet shadows and icing sugar touched vanilla. Very luxurious and soothing. Great lasting power and sillage.

Starts out like a chypre, tangy sweet and slightly bitter, then slowly transforms into powdery almond, in an reassuring and masculine fashion; one of the most interesting transition I've ever encountered and each stage is amazing in its own way, especially when the two intertwines in the middle!

Actually all I smell is Petitgrain Cedar and Vanilla, maybe some citrus, the rest is more at the background. I would say this one more of the similar usage as the Herod. I don’t see why this would be feminine leaning, its 90% masculine scent.

To me an absolute wonder. Eclix is a velvet eclipse in a bottle a lunar dream dressed in burnt sugar and ink-black iris. It doesn’t whisper, it haunts! It’s not perfume. It’s a spell you forgot you cast. Amazing, dreamy..

This is a luminous lemon drop candy wrapped in your grandmother's old handkerchief. Really beautiful, and reminds me of some vintage Guerlains. Sillage and longevity are great but not nuclear.

I blind bought this because I love iris and almonds, and although it’s not exactly what I expected judging by the notes, it’s safe to say that I am not disappointed at all! So to me Eclix is like a modern, softer and more wearable version of Habanita. It’s really powdery, sweet and it just smells like powder, in a good way. I can’t really distinguish any note on its own, apart from the initial blast of lemon, as they are really blended to perfection. It’s a very unique and elegant fragrance, which might be considered more feminine leaning, but if you’re a guy who likes powdery fragrances, then why not - try it. It lasts a good amount of time, but projection is not too strong. I think it can be worn all year round, unless it’s too warm, so I’d avoid wearing it on a hot summer day, like most fragrances of this kind. Needless to say that the bottle is gorgeous... and super heavy. My final assessment is that Eclix is a really good addition to my collection, as I really have nothing similar. It’s essentially a sweet, powdery, yummy fragrance, with a slightly vintage touch. I love it, but I’d definitely recommend you to sample it first before buying.

I can’t believe people are trashing this parfum. This is very nice parfum. It is for sure not your sweet, mainstream designer parfum. It is complex and high quality niche parfum with a lot of character and facades. It also lasts long and projects well , thanks to quality ingredients. If you are into almond iris and musk . This is the one you should check it out. It is very interesting house generally and this one definitely one of tge better one.

Vanilla Cake! Sweet vanilla cake with a hint of lemon. It smells just like that. It is some powdery floral aspect (orris, iris) to it and is slightly bitter (violets), but this all behind the sweet cakey vanilla and that undertone of lemon. It is making me drool. I don't wear these kind of scents but I'm really considering this one! Unisex scent, better suited for the cooler months. Very good projection and longevity. Big "Like".

I was looking for almond scent. When I heard about this fragrance, I was looking for it in a store. What can I say – at first this is a great sweet (maybe even too sweet) almonds. But only for an hour. After that time, it transforms into a soft powdery mist on my skin. Very warm and gentle. The silage is very strong and longevity is really enormous. So if you want powdery scents this one is a great choice.

Eclix starts off as a fruity bomb, then when it starts to dry down I get the nutty note from the almond. When it dries all the way down is when it gets powdery. I like this fragrance, however definitely not something to blind buy. You really have to love almond and a little powder. I do own a full bottle. I'm personally very pleased with this scent.

Smells like smoother, less nuclear Junoon by Al Haramain. If you like a vaguely sweet, lemon cake powder; this is the highest quality version of that scent profile I've come across. PowderLovers approved 8.5/10

Bug spray.. lemon... play-dough. I haven’t worn it throughout the entire day but so far I’m.... Meh.

I really love the Iris drydown - it’s soft and dry, kind of like makeup, but the citrus opening absolutely kills this one. The lemon smells horribly synthetic and sweet, kind of like cleaning products. I blind bought this and have tried to get past the lemon but it’s not happening. The fragrance evolves over a long period of time and is of good quality. Bottles are very interesting. I love the astrology (I think?) motif.

Citrusy and powdery at the same time, with a cold powdery vibe. It might change due to weather/season. Kind of specific, for sure, but ultimately this doesn't quite come together for me. Silage and longevity are ok. It's strong initially but settles down quickly and becomes subdued. Sample first.

#1051 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is floral bath powder. Feminine to the great-grandmotherly, really old school, days of the steam engine feminine. No man would ever wear this. No woman that wants my attention should ever wear this.

Well that was disappointing...I looked at the notes and figured since I’m a big fan of quite a few from this house that this one would smell great, sadly all I get is a rubber like smell

Wow... This is even more of a sweaty grandma scent than Shalimar. I cannot get past that violent outdated feeling with this. It is reminiscent of a baby powder, but for me, "shalimarian" feel preveils. I cannot understand how can someone call this "modern". It belongs in a time one century ago, can someone please take it there so it stops offending our senses?

Do not blind buy this. It smells like bug repellent or insecticide and doesn't develop into any else.

Don't be fooled by the initial smell of this, since it starts off exactly as baby oil and sits there for like an hour. If you do not judge it within the first development phase, you will receive a very warm welcome of complex notes in its second stage. I mainly smell Sandalwood, Iris and almonds here; none of the fresher notes listed in the pyramid are detected by my nose. However, this part is absolutely stunning and it feels like there is a soft pillow around your neck... it lasts and last for like 7-8 hours and after that it turns into a cozy vanilla base with low projection... This can't be worn on Summer days, but it is your perfect companion for Fall and Winter. Recommended for cuddle sessions with your significant other :))) Not office suitable IMHO... Enjoy......

The lemon in here is so irritating, as in I think it would smell fantastic if not for this lemon pith scent. The lemon in here is neither tart nor fresh nor sweet nor cleaner-fluid-like. It smells like the taste of the white bitter pith of a lemon, the white flesh that's revealed after a lemon is zested. It never disappears for me, just makes the scent smell like rubber balloons. If not for the lemon, the iris + almond would be fantastic. Disappointing, the blend is quite smooth though.

To next.fragrance You’re ignorance is showing. You don’t need to disrespect other fragrances because you don’t have words to describe what you’re smelling. Shalamar is a classic and it is one of the building blocks of perfumery all over the world. It is the gold standard. Maybe you feel that it’s dated or whatever but talking about sweaty grandma is disgusting and beneath this forum.

Like others have mentioned I do get the rubbery smell in the beginning. After about half an hour that disappears. You have to be pretty patient. The rubbery smell disappears and turns into a very powdery, violet iris scent. The almond isn’t very apparent. I really love this house so I’m going to put it away in a dark cool place for a few months and then come back with my update.

To next.fragrance. I see that you're someone who doesn't appreciate perfumes for what they are. Tell me, do you really have a sweaty grandma! I take it you just like the sweet overbearing syrupy Scents that are out there on the high streets, maybe you should just stick to them and leave the niche perfumes for people who can really appreciate them.

The dominant isn't almonds, or even iris! it is more of incense, black pepper, and orris. It has tangerine, violets, sandalwood, cedar, amber, & musk. The black pepper, orris, tangerine blend is dominant. Interesting as i begun to sense some night sand within the blend after few hours.

Очень схож с Montale Sweet Oriental Dreem! Сладкая, миндально-цветочная пудра! Второй в коллекции и горячо его люблю! И этот, просто, прелесть! Класс! Но, пока, не надо! А если, сношу Montale, присмотрюсь!

Another blind buy of mine. Powder, powder, powder. I went through a weird powder phase Summer 2023 - it was short-lived. Wore this fragrance once and will never wear it again. Nice bottle though.

Dear fragcomm, is this a predominantly powdery scent? The notes are up my alley but I am not excited by scents that are scream powder. Thnx for the guidance in advance.
