REVIEW - FOCONERO by TIZIANA TERENZI - The essence of Sorrento What does it smell like? Probably like Sorrento! A natural smelling fresh spicy composition covered in a beautiful blanket of green herbalness that smells like a vibrant busy day on a coast! TOP NOTES - Foconero opens up with a splash of beautifully blended Green and Aquatic opening laden with Juniper and some high quality citruses. The top is effervescent and volatile,fills up the whole room where you spray it. Right from the get go this one takes a different route than your usual freshies, intriguing you all the while about the journey that's it's going to take you on. HEART NOTES - While the top was blended to a level of energetic and effervescent notes that only made you wonder about the signs of things to come,the middle now let's each and every note shine. The Transition on this scent is very slow. It's very calm and composed with it's development, moving along with you at a very slow pace,like a slow ride through the coast line,letting all of its notes give a good account of themselves. And for good reason,an extrait that doesn't leave your skin that briskly is a good sign. A tart lemon and some soothingly herbal Oakmoss get more into the play now. Along with somewhat muted Cardamom and Thyme giving this one some beautiful spicy herbalness. So upto this mind this has been very fresh,green,very uplifting and vibrant, with a good positive ring to the whole composition. DRYDOWN - The drydown like the rest of the compositions comes at a very slow pace. We're talking good 2-3 hours before the herbalness and spicy freshness of this starts to give way to a much smoother but even more richer than the experience above. Much more calmer,much more smoother at this point. You start to get smooth yet exciting Ylang Ylang blended with some Sandalwood,Hyacinth and Cedarwood. There's also some white-floral cleanliness at this point thanks to the Lily of the Valley. All in all the drydown is rich, exciting and super smooth. All in all after the brisk energetic ride through the coast line on a sunny day in Sorrento you can watch the sun set beautifully and soothingly with some breazy nuances in this one making you feel tireless while you see a full moon ascending through the coast. PERFORMANCE - Being an extrait,the longevity isn't a problem on this one. And the slow nature of it's development is the first sign you get in that regard. All in all it gets me 10+ hours on skin,which is amazing for a freshie,and I can smell this next day on my clothes. Siliage on this is high while it projects very nicely as you move, giving you whiffs for good 2-3 hours. EMOTIONS AND USAGE - This is both youthful and mature at the same time. I don't even know it it makes sense but. The citruses are exciting while the herbal notes tell you this person knows what he/she's doing. This is unisex. Nothing in it which leans too much on either side of the spectrum, it's just cozy calm and exciting! VERDICT - Though this comes into the territory of Blue fragrances but this has enough differences to seperate it from a usual freshie. Both in terms of it's composition and it's performance. As far as freshies go,this one deserves more respect. With the price tag that it comes with,and the performance it delivers with the quality and finesse of the very in-vougue Italian fragrance house this deserves much much more love and attention.

This is the Millesime Imperial of today, I'll tell you why. So this is a salty water, ozonic, green citrus perfume with a dash of hyacinth. It's noticeably salty - the juniper here isn't smoky like cade, more like cold spicy gin with lime way. To me this smells like you took Millesime Imperial, gave it some steroids (this lasts a whole day with a strong projection) and splashed in some hyacinth from Xerjoff's Accento - and just like Creed the quality of the bottle is shit. The atomizer is slightly crooked inside making the clouds facing a touch down - leaving wide, oily stains on the matte black bottle. The cap is light, mine is with deep production scratches - not to mention that it doesn't fully 'click'; I always have to check if the cap is locked in place. If you like your bottles nice and even you better keep this in the back of your collection as the cap is even only on one side and it appears crooked on the bottle. It is a safe blind buy IF you like salty, slightly bitter, dry, ozonic watery citrus. You need to like salt and ambergris-like notes to enjoy this. And tolerate shit quality bottles.

DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS!!! In the opening, it's one of the most beautiful fresh scents I've ever smelled. It feels exactly the way the manufacturer describes — a gorgeous, sun-drenched landscape painted with herbs, lime, and salt. And then, after 1 hour — poof, it's gone. You're left with a very subtle, barely-there floral skin scent. At first I thought I'd gotten hold of a faulty batch, but testing two other bottles gave me the same result. The most probable explanation is... Anosmia. Around 25% of people are unable to smell Iso E Super, Ambroxan, and other synthetic molecules widely used in perfumery. Given the fresh, soapy, woody scent that most reviewers describe in the drydown, some of these were likely used here. If you want more, just look up the OR7A17 receptor. Simply put — if you're genetically predisposed to have this receptor inactive, you just won't be able to smell these molecules, and there's nothing you can do about it. Such a shame. A scent this beautiful deserves better than to be a genetic lottery.

I have yet to get my nose on Percival or Vodka on the Rocks, so I can’t speak to whether this is similar to those, but I can understand the comparison to Fierce and Legend. However, while I can see those comparisons, Foconero is a different experience. To my nose, while it does have a lot of similarity, the quality is next level. If I am to be honest, now that I’ve dabbled in some niche fragrances, I wish I woulda skipped about 100 and gone right to Terenzi and some others I’ve become fond of. I have some really good memories associated with Fierce and Legend at a point where my life was changing, but if not for that, I may just give someone those fragrances now that I’ve splurged on this gem. I would definitely recommend this luxurious take on the genre.

Yes, it resembles the Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue and to a lesser extent Fierce (imagine 70% - 30% mix). Obviously, it is an unfair comparison: the above two frags are designer while Paolo is working with a different budget. Very Italian, citrus-floral-aromatic-slightly woody with a pinch of ozonic and slightly airy salty accord. High quality, no chemical overload here, very natural smelling. Not very original, due to the above resemblance but very nice, easy to wear, likable scent. Great performance, unlike current formulations of the two above. So if you like D&G Light Blue and Fierce, blind buy safe. If not, you still might like this but try first.This also reminds me of Percival but I strongly prefer Foconero to the above, really. :)

This is a bergamot/lime bomb in the opening, with a subtle hint of oakmoss, wood, the citrus notes last through the dry down, usually citrus notes are volatile and gone within minutes, so I'm not sure how Terenzi did it, the bergamot and lime from this one last forever in beast mode. There's also a little bit of floral in the dry down. This is a fresh and sexy scent. I will be wearing this in warmer Spring and Summer, very good projection, sillage and longevity too! Unisex for certain. If you're tired of all those synthetic and chemical-smelling designer summer fragrances out there, give this one a try. This is a Ferrari of a summer scent, definitely high-quality stuff, the price is approachable at discounters.

To my amateur nose, this smells like salty and tart lemon/limeade with touch of woody notes for added depth. First thing that comes to my mind is "beach". Best for summer daytime use. Projects nicely and is very long lasting. Edit: Sprayed at the back of both ear, one back of the neck and one on the collarbone Projection is 1 feet. Dies and becomes skin scent after an hour or two at most Longevity is 10+ hours Temperature is 30c Scent: 4/5 (limeade!!) Imagine A&F Fierce being a playboy who parties all the time and wakes up next to a new girl every night. Then one day he wakes up and thinks to himself, "what the hell am I doing with my life?" He gets himself together, starts a successful business, and becomes extraordinarily wealthy. He dresses expensive, yet understated. Although he's more mature and sophisticated, he still has much of his youthful charm. This young man is Foconero.

Wow! I'm lovin' it. Smells like "The Original" Fierce just on steroids. What can I say, this is an amazing fragrance. You have beautiful and very natural lime, does not come across synthetic at all. Added to the natural lime, you get saltiness, and woods. This very Italian in my opinion, very easy to wear. Projects nicely and long lasting. Slow and smooth transition of notes. Best for Summer Daytime use!

Just picked this one up. Great citrus fragrance, heavy on the lemon and lime, citrus projets 1-2 hours but still present through mid. Juniper and thyme readily picked up and present throughout the life of the fragrance. Saltiness and aquatic notes pleasing and not overly synthetic. Lighter base notes. Looking forward to wearing this one in the summer. 9/10

So glad i didn’t listen to negative reviews smell amazing & exactly how I wanted it too similar to Fierce mixed with Vodka on the rocks. Top notch citruses used with nice aromatics this is just a amazing freshie with great longevity & moderate/ heavy silage. Not very unique but man it smells good to my nose can also be found for great prices

Man this stuff is amazing! Obviously compared to Legend/Fierce, but this is a step up. It opens more citrusy and just smells very natural. Very good quality! I sprayed Legend on my right hand and Foconero on the left, and Legend starts with a strong alcohol smell and is not as fresh as Foconero. Foconero is als smoother.

I dont know what contains this parfum, but they seized it at the airport control for no clear reason. Goodbye my short loved friend ;(. Perfect fragrance for in the summer heat, for those very hot days where you usually would not like to wear fragrance on. Smells very natural with almost no synthetics.

I Just Received my bottle, it was a blind buy. the smell is Great and Luxurious and calming in the hot weather (high end quality floral citrus mixed with sea breeze, Sadly I'm the only one who can smell it..i work in an office..it's subtle sad to say

Guys, this smells like Sprite with ice on a hot sunny day by the sea. Easy explanation. Good freshy, I wear the heck out of it! Just positive reactions.. No piss thing no nothing but sweet lime soda with a splash of sea salt 😁

Such a solid summer fragrance with great performance. It works very well in the office too. I dont see that being inspired by other fragrances is an issue, as long you have the element of the performance giving you an edge.

To me Foconero smells like Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve on steroids. A little less blue, a little more airy, with a touch of Millesime Imperial. It's very long lasting to be a fresh fragrance. 9/10

Fresh , salty perfume very similar to pdm , excellent sillage , last for 7 hours , recommend to anyone as it a safe fragrance. Overall 8/10

I've worn this more than a couple of times now, and while I do prefer it layered with something sweeter, I will conclude that this is one of the more favourable scents in this summer-fresh-green-woody-citrus category. It's a pleasant dumb reach, and a good shout if you have troubles with synthetic citrus oils causing you a headache in other perfume. First of all, synthetic citrus oils notoriously cause me headaches, and even ones that other people find photorealistic smell like cleaning chemicals to me - but the oils in here just smell like a normal lemon, which tells me that they are probably using different that standard aromachemicals to impersonate the banned natural citrus oils. It smells like lemons, slightly sweet lemons, perhaps with one end dipped in sugar, with synthetic woods and a green, natural juniper dancing around on your skin. It's a green freshie, slightly slightly sweet. Given the type of scent, the projection is a bit lower, but I can still easily smell it 6+h on myself after application - and I do 2-3 sprays max, but you could probably dial it up to 4. I can see this as a fragrance that is easy to wear, smells very high quality, fresh and gentle, while still being a bit zesty and having a sweet lemon undertone. That sweet lemon undertone is quite charming on my skin, and I think if I cared more for this category of scents, I would just buy this one and be done with it.

Very nice, smooth and sophisticated. To my nose, this has certain similarities to A&F Fierce. If we are looking both closely after 20 minutes of spraying, they really seems like a match but not before and after... the overall expression and if we see the whole picture is that these two hardly have anything in common (imo). This is top niche quality and performance, not to mention this is a slowly evolving, perfectly blended gem. Top Notes Zitrische Notes, Bergamot, Zitrische Notes, Thyme, Juniper (Gin Note), Lavender Heart Notes Salt, Aldehydes, Ylang - Ylang, Lily Of The Valley, Hyacinth, Cardamom Base Notes Oak Moss, Sandalwood, Patchouli, Cedarwood Scent: 4/5 Longevity: 4/5 Sillage: 3/5 Overall: 3.7/5

I like it. Salted lime and herbs. That's all, especially in the beginning, then it dries down to soft woods. Summer time only, and please wait 20 minutes before going out, the opening is very harsh, but natural, and it needs to cool off a little bit. After that it's more pleasant. It has good longevity, but doesn't project. This is a perfect summer office scent. It is not juvenile like Montblanc Legend and I actually don't think they smell alike, this one is more elegant and upscale. This is a high end version of Percival with a realistic citrus opening.

Designer like profile with solid performance. It smells like the salt coated rim of a lime margarita glass with little to know sweetness. It has very tart and bitter green limes with ozonic notes that adds a “cold feeling”. It can be a bit piercing in the opening but after 15 mins it becomes less sharper. This a summer morning casual fragrance with good longevity and sillage. I cannot see it working in another season.

I have similar issues as described by vfefe. Beautiful salty-citrusy-aldehydes for the first hour, then absolutely nothing, just hyacinth (and yes, I know what it smells like, I own the actual plant) and subtle woods. Other people say they can smell it, and they contend I smell like a clothing store. I also checked the batch, it was fine 😭.

Opens with a bit of Pledge which I don't like, but quickly settles down to a great citrus and lime that is natural and very long lasting. Not my favorite freshie, but it's longevity and drydown are excellent. Much more interesting than the usual suspects from the designers, and great value if you buy from discounters.

Niche with amped up dihydromercenol and calone take on the fierce DNA. People say it smells more natural than the other takes but I can perceive a heavy dose of synthetics. I prefer percival. This is more summer appropriate tho

Smells 95% similar to A&F Fierce. My wife who knows nothing about cologne tells me every time I wear this I smell like the Abercrombie store.

I like it more and more. Strong fragrance, saltyness. It is not yet hot here, but possebly this will mix good with sweat

A very salty woody scent. Leans mature.

Being compared to Percival, Legend, and Fierce, despite a few warnings below, I blind bought this and I am feeling like it was a mistake. The opening doesn't smell as much like P, L, and F as they do one another. Yes, it smells much more natural and it's lighter - likely better suited for warmer weather. But it is now apparent that the synthetics are the best part of that profile. It doesn't have the masculine punch in the nose that the others have. There is also a weird note in the opening, sherifhassan78 below called it "diluted piss" but to me it's more like a urinal cake - not pleasant on me but it weakens after 10 minutes or so. I am hoping it grows on me. In the meantime, I'll stick with Percival and Legend EDP.

I have many fragrances, but I had to register because of Foconero. Though I've been told that I smell fresh and clean, only one remark about this fragrance, which I read here, comes to my mind - diluted piss. I would suggest - smell it before you buy it. SMELL IT!!!

Foconero opens with a citrusy blast that's quickly replaced by a generic floral scent. Looking at the notes, I can imagine that it would be combo of lily of the valley and hyacinth. Not particularly attractive. Dries down into a generic woody scent. I supposed Foconero can be called light and fresh because there's nothing there. Projection is almost zero. However, as a skin scent almost from the get go, it does have decent longevity around 7 to 8 hours. Although the bottle price is OK, I'm rating it expensive because it's not worth that much. More along the lines of $20 tops.

Let's first agree that this is the most long lasting summer fragrance. it lasts easily 10 hours on skin and a whole day on clothes. The Sillage is Ok, moderate. The scent has a dominant sea saltiness in it, and a tiny bit of citrus. There is a note here that gives it a weird smell. A smell like diluted piss or something. It's not pleasant. I don't like it. It's not a bad fragrance, but it is just not for me. Try before you buy.

Fresh, aquatic, herbaceous, and very medicinal smelling to me. Bought blind thinking I would adore it, but sold it less than a week later. Just not into it, don't like overly medicinal smelling scents, though it's natural and fresh. Percival is very similar but slightly better for me as the 1 true blue frag in my collection.

This is absolutely awful. It reminds me of the exact aroma of my mold cleaning fluid, mixed with stomach churning musk, sweat, and early 2000s cologne sprayed on a dead body. I was really hoping to like this but this activated my fight or flight response, it felt instinctually dangerous for me to smell this. Haven't scrubbed anything else faster. I haven't had good luck with the house of Tiziana Terenzi so far but this is just caustic. Hope I'm not the only one. 0/10

Salt + Sprite + Sex Appeal I just blind bought this for someone, it’s a pleasant, clean, minimal - citrusy marine. It’s nothing revolutionary or innovative but it’s damn good. It’s so good I wore it and want my own bottle to layer with. It’s a generic cologne candle scent - yet the purity of ingredients themselves is the true star; people are right it does smell “natural”. The opening is Sprite.. literally citrus soda or a lemon drop; the citrus in the opening is the most present and it definitely lingers as the fragrance wears. Overtime, it does pull slightly saltier, woodier, and aldehydic (in a Dove bar kind of way). For the first half hour it is reminiscent of a citrus cleaner or straight up Sprite then it becomes this stunning beachy masterpiece. To me this is a summertime honeymoon fragrance - it’s the olfactory embodiment of sipping a citrusy cocktail on a beach paradise vacation oozing sex appeal. For the Percival people: It’s definitely more lemony and acidic..Percival is more dry and woody. Foconero is fresher and saltier.

The aquatic as well as aromatic fragrance that is unisex. The opening notes in this stunner are juniper, lime, lavender, Italian lemon, thyme and bergamot. Heart is made up of ozonic notes, salt, Ylang-Ylang, cardamom, Lily of the valley, hyacinth. Dry down is cedar, oakmoss, patchouli and sandalwood. I think this one smell quite like Sorrento. The smell is natural, fresh, spicy that is kind of covered in a lovely blanket of green herbals. There is slow transition of notes in this one. The scent is kind of composed, calm while developing at slow pace. I feel very vibrant, uplifting, green and fresh and certainly positive with this entire composition. Rich, super smooth and exciting scent with amazing longevity and superb silage. A mature and youthful scent that is calm, cozy, sexy and superbly fresh too. One can wear this in warm days, especially summer and spring. The projection, silage and longevity is very good. Best one for summer use. Nice one!

Many things to like about this fragrance particularly if you are a girl who likes to smell like a boy...like my daughter. I am big on sampling and usually she hates most of my demos...this one she loved. She definitely leans into the colognes tho. It is citrusy, cedery and salty. Lasts eternal and very nice on the sillage - not overpowering..like look at me I have arrived..but a more subtle move around the room and leave others wondering who you are. Yes. I gave the balance of the tester to my daughter who immediately checked on the full bottle price....it is a very fair buy.

Judging by these reviews you’d think this smelt like a salt shaker. Smelt like sh*t blah blah blah. I’m glad I blind bought this because this smells like a mix of Percival and vodka on the rocks so you’ll be reminded of legend EDP and fierce as well. Fantastic smooth smelling fragrance. If you don’t want to pay for Percival especially, then this is a more than adequate replacement and I don’t say that lightly! It’s airy, it’s fresh and highly versatile. Don’t smell it up close it’s strong, spray it on and smell the beautiful sillage! Performance is unreal.

Tried this at Selfridges and its difficult not to like this perfume. In other words, its a safe perfume. The positives: smells nice, safe, long lasting power and very good projection. The less positive: smells like many designer perfumes by D&G or Armani, definitely not unique. All in all, very nice "blue" perfume. Worth buying if you want an upgrade from designer and have extra cash.

A more mature version of Fierce and a higher quality version of Legend. Despite the opening being a little too lime heavy, the dry down is amazing! Super longevity and heavy projection/sillage. More of a summer fragrance! Definitely a safe blind buy if you have like Aventus, Sauvage etc... Longevity: 5/5 Sillage: 5/5 Uniqueness: 3/5 Love it!

Very salty with a touch of citrus. Did not go well on my skin at all. Gagged me out. Would be a decent buy if you love salt fragrances, but I would highly suggest against a blind buy on this one. Gave it to my 76 year old father who is obsessed with salt fragrances and he likes it.

Well, i got 3ml sample.Its just smell like ahmed almagribi Kaaf, no high quality or better blend or superior quality bull💩, basically just that, thanks god i dont blindbuy full bottle,if next time i miss this smell i'll just buy kaaf

Smelling this today the salt accord is way to dominant for me it seems like it's blended in a way where the salt accord absorbs all the other notes. I really don't get the much of the top notes that much either. It's a pass for me.
