Nero Oudh

Beautiful scent that turned out far better than expected. I love woody, resinous, incensy fragrances and adore musc. Was hoping for a great experience. What I got was so much more. Fresh supple, clean leather and bright, almost rubber like top note (the rubber top note was gone in 5 mins) but then the leather purred on like a big cat in the sun. I enjoyed the creamy and lightly sweet saffron (without being cloying) as this bloomed then came and stayed a gorgeous accord of sweet apricots in liquor. Adding a golden, sunny and sweet feel. Soft woods, a little smoke and lots of clean musc and no doubt those florals - perhaps magnolia and ylang? The layers of scents were divine. The dry down was warm dry woods and musc with what felt like a velvety violet and ended with powder and a jammy blackberry note. Luscious without ending up in scary tooth achingly sweet territory.

A very bold and interesting woody Oriental from the always over the top Italian house. The scent opens with a unique note of herbal green mandarin surrounded by saffron and bergamot. As it develops one gets hints of orange blossom and slight jasmine and rose. The perfume settles on a dense musky powdery bed of heavy synthetic musk, and Hindi (non skanky) Oud with slight hints of patchouli, vanilla and tonka. Also in the mix is generous amounts of Iso Super E which will ensure that this slight masculine leaning beast will remain on your skin for at least a day. Bold and unapologetic and only for the fearless. Enjoy!

What a gorgeous slept on fragrance. I’m glad this one is not popular honestly, makes me feel like I have such a special fragrance nobody is wearing. It’s very dark and mysterious, but it’s non offensive. This is actually a safe blind buy for any gentleman looking for a luxury leathery oud type scent. Perfect for date night, formal. I get amazing longevity and projection as well. This is an original composition, out of my huge collection it is non redundant at all. Great work Tiziana! You delivered with this hidden gem!

I don't normally write Tiziana Terenzi reviews, mostly because I own just a few, and I am not a huge fan. I find the house, on the whole, to be mostly derivative, bordering on a clone house. That being said, this is a stunning fragrance...sweet, yet dry and very woody...simply beautiful, and one of their best! Still does the thing most TT's do which is make you question its longevity, is it still there? (Exceptions being Laudano Nero and Maremma). 9/10

Today I am picking up Louis Vuitton Ombré Nomad, I smelled them side by side and yes they way too close for me to keep this one, LV shines a tad more on the dry down with leather. I have a few Tizziana creations and they are all fantastic well made high end fragrances. Nero Oudh was an amazing rose oud frag. Highly recommend. Lasts for a very very long time as well.

This is gorgeous in a dark and mysterious way. After the initial spray, I smelt petroleum soaked leather...not very appealing...but as the fragrance settled, it became delightful in the air. Only for the bold and recommend layering it with other fragrances, ideally a rose blend. Shukran Habibi!

Inoffensive, signature scent worthy, great quality. It’s more woody than oudy, not skanky at all. Reminds me of TF Oud Wood, but darker, with more character (but they are not clones at all).

One of the best oud fragrances. It is dry and dark oud, with some spiciness in the background. Projection and performance are monsters.

Big leather fragrance. Revisiting, Oud does make a presence. Smoky leather and Oud. But leather again very large.

Not at all my cup of tea but I can definitely agree that this is dark, leathery, bold. Sometimes I wish I was more into oud fragrances... maybe then I'd appreciate the artistry behind some of these oud, leathery pieces... Nero Oudh is like that elegant villain from a detective movie, dressed in black, the only contrasting piece of clothing being the white shirt. It gives the mystery man who's spying on someone from across the street... at night.

Somebody below mentioned the scent being comforting, I whole heartedly agree. It’s pretty much just leather and woods for me, it settles with a little bit of florals but it gives me a sense of nostalgia that I find beautiful in this frag. I really enjoy this and find it to be such a well blended and great creation. 🙏🏽

Great opening let down by its dry down. Nero Oudh is a bit of a puzzling scent to my nose because it doesn't really smell how I expected it to based on the notes. I would say this is a "rose oud", but many of its other notes have a lot of presence so it's not a pure rose oud scent at all like Ombre Nomade, for example. For starters, this has a smooth, clean, green-ish, perhaps floral smell alongside the rose and typical oud accord (this doesn't have real oud, hence the "oudh"). This also has a sweet and powdery smell that's very similar to that of Alexandria II/Anniversary/III from Xerjoff, not sure what's to blame for this but it's definitely nice. I like the opening, but Nero Oudh unfortunately becomes an Amber Xtreme bomb around 4 hours in. I'm not a fan of this molecule at all and at this point it's all I'm smelling from this, which is really disappointing. Another molecule I really despise is calone, but unlike calone which is immediately detectable in the opening, Amber Xtreme usually only becomes apparent until the dry down, which reinforces the importance of trying fragrances on skin before buying them. Performance is a bit of a mixed bag but it's still decent overall. I have a suspicion I might be nose blind to this in the same way I'm nose blind to Ursa/Straight to Heaven as this is probably very wood aroma chemical heavy. Projection was barely moderate from what I could tell and sillage was also really light, I haven't been catching this in the air much at all, compared to most people who claim this to be pretty potent. Longevity is probably great but I'm probably going to wash this off now, at least I got a good 4 hours out of this.

0.7/10 The rose is too jammy. The saffron is sticky and overwhelming. The oud is too strong. Wouldn't say it smells like the price tag either.

All i get is Indian oud and fresh top quality genuine leather. This is a top quality juice. No harsh edges cause i guess its well rounded by Saffron and lemon. I love to smell my self all day. Oh by the way in the background there is a hint of rose too. And i would say its Tiziana terenzi Version of Oud for greatness by Initio

Nero Oud is an Indian Oud... I get Indian oud only.. maybe some other ingredients but definitely Indian oud and the rest is almost not there. It's pretty but you can get way cheaper version of this blend in the Arabian brands.

Beautiful fragrance and worthy of the name. It's basically a more accessible version of Hamdani Parfums de Marly. It has that "damp wood" scent profile but not as rough around the edges.

A must-have oud-themed fragrance for me this 2019! Paolo Terenzi blends citruses, florals, ouds and woods exceedingly well! Looking forward to trying this out!

I can't wait to try on this one! Given the good reputation this house has, this sure sounds promising!
