Orion

This is an absolute stunner! Very classy delicious summer fragrance for the fragrance connoisseur. Tiziana Terenzi is a great house and everything I’ve tried from them so far is absolutely stunning, rich, deep, strong, smooth, and done so well. This is an extrait de parfum concentration, so you know this is going to be strong, last forever, and you’re really going to smell it! The price for a perfume at this concentration that smells this good is an incredible value when you consider all the poor performing outrageously expensive niche brands out there. Getting on to the notes and overall impression, this is just a very classy refined summer scent that is very similar to the ubiquitous/contentious Creed Aventus, but done much much better. Is it the same, of course not. But is very similar, but it's own fragrance for sure. The subtle differences separate this from Aventus and take it to a much better place overall and is just more refined and wearable for an adult. I definitely feel like Byredo Oud Immortel and this share more similarities as far as the overall impression, then Orion and Aventus. All great/genius designers will always tell you: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And that is what Paolo Terenzi has done here. He’s taken a good idea, but poorly executed fragrance (Aventus) and made it so much better, more refined, more adult, smoother, more interesting, and much longer lasting as well as much stronger. Everyone is obviously going to bring up the comparisons, between the two, but they end right there. This transcends Aventus with very little effort. From the beautiful fresh citrus opening, to the sexy intoxicating middle and dry down with the smoky birch, pineapple, incense, cedar, amber and other accompanying notes that add to the overall effect, this is just so much better than Aventus or any other “clone” like fragrance that says it’s like Aventus. Every time I wear this, I think I love it more then the last time! And talk about a compliment grabber, haha. I don’t like wearing fragrances for others. I wear them for myself and usually don’t care what others say, but when I wear this, people make me blush! I get asked all the time what I’m wearing if I have this on, and get so many compliments it's embarrassing. I've tried to only put on 1-2 sprays on my chest when I wear this so I won't attract as much attention. This smells like a niche fragrance while Aventus smells like a designer with promise, but that wasn’t executed very well. This is strong, sexy, consistent, and you can smell this ALL day, and even longer. Most fragrances don’t last very long on my skin, and this goes 12+ hrs of noticeable sillage. And then a skin scent for hours more. It’s just amazing. This isn’t too sweet like some batches of Aventus, it isn’t too dark and smoky like some batches of Aventus, it’s perfect. Very addictive and girls find it very sexy. Aventus is way overpriced, extremely inconsistent from batch to batch (which is BS! Make the same perfume or just name it something else if you want to make one smokier or sweeter), and for most people has horrible performance. This is the exact opposite. It’s priced well for how amazing it is, and how long it lasts! It is the same fragrance every single time you buy it, and it's just a better fragrance overall. I like Aventus, but it has too many flaws and costs too much for it's poor performance. I think of this as the adult version for a fragrance connoisseur, and Aventus is for pre pubescent high school boys. And just to address some of these ridiculous reviews and really negative comments, just stop! It just makes you sound ignorant and like you have no idea what your talking about. Some of these people on here wasting their time trashing an amazing fragrance that is better then their precious Aventus, just crack me up. They remind of the goofballs that always want to say Apple products suck, haha. Saying this fragrance “smells absolutely nothing like Aventus. Not even a little bit.” Or “I guess some of you see pineapple, apple, and a few other similar notes and straight away claim AVENTUS!” And so many other “gems” just have me rolling on the floor laughing hysterically. I’m not even going to try to explain to these people or their insane claims or negative comments. For those of you here for a real review, this smells very much like Aventus, but is much better. Weather you admit that or not, is irrelevant. This IS very much like Aventus. FACT. If you don't like it for some odd reason (even though you claim to love Aventus) that's fine. But don’t try and mislead people because you are stuck on a fragrance that every single 16 yr old high schooler wears and worships. It’s just sad and takes away any credibility from your reviews. If you like Aventus at all, and want to find a classy refined version of it, that lasts forever, and fear you’ll smell like every HS jock who thinks he "knows" fragrance because he owns Aventus and Paco Rabanne 1 million, then you will LOVE this and want to try it. Orion is the real deal and is a real gem! I was so happy when I finally found this and realized that it not only lasts on my skin (which Aventus doesn’t), but smells incredible, is much more refined, and for an adult. Top top warm weather fragrance and can even be worn in the evening because of the sexy middle and dry down.

Tiziana Terenzi Orion opens with a moderate projection of mostly pineapple and smoky accords. The pineapple isn’t alone, it is enhanced by bergamot which accentuates the pineapple, slightly sweet and sharp accords. The apple is a support note; it adds its fruity tones which blend well with the pineapple. The birch which is a heart tone comes up as soon as the fragrance is applied and it adds a dry woody accord which opens the path to the base tone. The patchouli, jasmine and red currant are soft green and spicy accords, just a touch. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, the initial fruity tones lose some of its power, at this point the smoky tone of the incense becomes prominent adding a smoky wood accord but does not change the fruity character of the fragrance; the oud and cedar join as a deep dry wood accord, and, the musk is just a touch. The most noticeable change from the opening to the dry-down is the fruits losing some of its sharpness and the incense and woods climbing up to position side by side with them. Once Tiziana Terenzi Orion has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, pineapple, soft incense, and dry wood fragrance with spicy accords. The fragrance fees clean, diurnal, elegant, energizing, formal, fresh, fruity, inviting, masculine, mild, modern, nicely-bended, sharp, smoky, sparkly, sporty, versatile, woody, and very pleasant. BATCH REVIEWED: 2020 WOW RATING: 10/10. Its freshness and delectable nature, moderate sweetness, and perfectly balanced pineapple and woody notes create a great fragrance. DISLIKE RATING: 0/10. The notes in this fragrance and inoffensive. UNIQUENESS: 5/10. Pineapple-based fragrances are common. MASS APPEAL: 10/10. This is a crowd-pleasing fragrance. PROJECTION: 3/10. Moderate, about 3 feet around the wearer. SILLAGE: 4/10. Good, about 4 feet behind the wearer. APPLICATION: Four atomizations will suffice. LONGEVITY: 4/10. Moderate, about 4 hours with 2 of good projection. SEASONS: Spring, summer, and fall. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, gym, office, business casual, home, and dating. VERSATILITY: 9/10. Highly versatile, this fragrance can be worn most of the year, almost for any occasion. GENDER: Masculine, the incense, and spicy accords lean it to the masculine side. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: Tiziana Terenzi can be found discounted for over $100. It is a great and quality scent with such a long list of very affordable and very good performing Aventus-like fragrances, this is a nice-to-have but not a must-have. BLIND-BUY: Yes. The similarities with Creed Aventus noticeable. SIMILAR: These are some examples of fragrances that feature pineapple as the main accord. Bond No 9 The Scent of Peace for Him is a great one; Dua Fragrances Poseidon's Tux is a clone house with a couple of good fragrances, this is one of them and it features strong pineapple; Creed Aventus of course; Nishane Hacivat Unisex Parfum by Nishane is a powerful pineapple fragrance; Parfums Vintage – Pineapple Vintage Intense – EDP is another clone house, this version of their Creed Aventus clone favors pineapple over the smoky notes; Roja Parfums Elysium Cologne Parfum Spray for Men is another niche quality pineapple, fruity and woody fragrance; Armaf Club De Nuit Intense EDT by Armaf is an affordable and good Creed Aventus clone; finally and of course, Creed Aventus, Tiziana Terenzi is a pineapple, soft incense and dry wood fragrance, very good. SUMMARY: A moderate projection, pineapple, soft incense, and dry wood fragrance with spicy accords. The fragrance fees clean, diurnal, elegant, energizing, formal, fresh, fruity, inviting, masculine, mild, modern, nicely-bended, sharp, smoky, sparkly, sporty, versatile, woody, and very pleasant.

If you ever wanted a reason to get rid of your Aventus partial, this is one heck of an excuse. It has it's own distinct character, with a more natural birch note, incense and agarwood. I would say it smells like a niche version of CDNIM with the beautiful birch and natural, juicy pineapple. The apple and "cool breezes" are detectable and make the opening very robust. The pineapple keeps chugging alongside the birch and incense; this is definitely something I'd consider a "composition", it smells and wears like it's a handcrafted scent. This continues through the drydown where it's able to keep its freshness with the everlasting pineapple note. The presentation is one of the very best I've seen, and by far the best within this price range. This sits next to Amouage, PdM, and other niche scents in my collection. This one stands out; it just looks far more expensive and detailed. The presentation screams "niche!!!". Sillage for me seems to be about 1.5m-2m or 3-6ft. The spray doesn't come out oily like some extrait, and concentration seems to be around 20%. I don't think you can go wrong with this one, it's a mass-pleasing niche scent with an Aventus-type smell and better performance. I highly recommend it. The cap alone must weigh almost a kilo or almost a couple pounds. The bottle feels like glass-lined ceramic with a beautiful embossed label. The box and throne are a great touch, with two little booklets about the perfume and the house. Top recommendation. Scent: 9.5/10 Performance: 9/10 Sillage: 8.5/10

Review update, a more technical one, after a year of wearing as signature: First and foremost, gosh, how I love this scent! it's one of the few that works even in the humid 35°C days of Montreal summer. It's deep, versatile, masculine, office safe and an afternoon date star. Sadly, Tiziana Terenzi bottles seem to have a common flaw, the atomizer goes defective and starts shooting tired spits of fragrance after some time of use (around 1/2 bottle down), while some of the liquid leaks down the collar, that's a shame. These bottles are absolutely gorgeous but the most important functional part can't stay par to the looks. If this keeps getting worse I'll have to crack it open and rebottle it. Looks like I'm breaking the norm by not mentioning the "A" name in my review. EDIT: I forgot to mention that after a year of use oxidation has done its part, and now this composition leans heavier on the cedar and birch. The apple and bergamot had faded down, and pineapple is still present but as a secondary note now. Over time, this is sitting further and further from Mr "A" (ok, I did it, I mentioned it).

Oud or OakMoss Like an epic heavyweight title fight, two famous ingredients go head to head. Specifically, Oud vs Oakmoss. The showdown is the compared use of these famous ingredients in Orion and Aventus. Both have a proven formula or model, citrus opening-slightly sweet mid-woody dry-down. However, the major fork in the road or departure in their fragrance journey - is the base. Orion uses Oud to transport you and Creed uses oak moss. This is why Orion is indeed more luxurious. In quality and abundance of use. Both scents are mostly natural ingredients and both will render many compliments, both are mass appealing and Creed wins with creativity but is not equal in almost every other comparison with current formulations that due to re-formulations by IFRA, the oak moss is too weak. The pre-ifra regulated formulation of Aventus is outstanding and showcases a Chypre that deserves most accolades. Still, I have both and prefer Orion, and if you were to choose one I think you know where I would steer you. Orion elevates the experience as it is more polished and higher quality. 4.5/5

How similar is it to Aventus? To my nose its a more mature, less playful, spicier and smokier rendition of the Aventus structure. Having said that, calling this a clone would be disrespectful and incorrect, there is another layer of complexity on display that exceeds that of Aventus, and makes this quite a different fragrance overall, not better in my opinion, but different. The fruity opening resembles Aventus only until you realise the powerful Thyme and Oregano that add an aromatic facet to the fruitiness, Terenzi calls this "Cool Breezes" The heart and dry down resemble Aventus even less as the Patchouli is green and spicy, and Incense is ever present, only the structure of the notes and way it progresses reminds me of Aventus. Longevity is around 8 hours, projection is strong for 3 before becoming an elbow length scent bubble. You can own both Orion and Aventus and neither would be redundant, i often layer the two together for a unique hybrid effect that perhaps hints at the older smoky Aventus batches with added aromatic effect.

Is there any need to mention it again and again?... I guess there is... yes, Aventus, Hacivat and Orion smell almost the same... yes they do... but it’s the little differences that make each one relevant in this absurdly huge sea of clones, flankers and re-interpretations. So let’s talk about Orion... yes it’s Pineapple, yes it’s Green Apple, yes it’s moldy and grassy, and yes, although not listed, it certainly has Ambroxan... but the main difference with Creed and Nishane, is the use of Red Currant and the reliance solely on Birch for the green aura instead of adding oakmoss. The combination of such elements gives this fragrance quite a delicious tangy woody envelope that won’t be found in any of the others. Unfortunately, it seems that Mr. Terenzi was more concerned with reinterpreting a successful scent, that with improving its performance... projection is on the lower side of moderate, and longevity is less than 5 hours. A lovely (and very reiterated) scent with lousy performance.

I'm in love with this complex fresh-spicy-woody journey, I find this more masculine than unisex and definitely an all occasion sexy scent. All notes feel very natural which I appreciate a lot, since synthetic citric notes are a big no for me. I love the way it evolves from fruity to aromatic, and then settling to woodsy, but the pineapple note accompanies you all the way along, blending perfectly on every stage. Projection is strong for the first 2-3 hours and then moderate, but still noticeable, staying close to the skin for very long. I bought this on an online perfume seller for $169 CAD, which made it an excellent price/value deal. This is my first review and I'm only months old in the world of perfume collectors (8th bottle in my collection), this description is (of course) based on my skin chemistry. I have pretty warm skin which helps with projection. I strongly recommend watching the review by Redolessence on youtube, which made me go for this one.

Certain blind buy. From TT, this is the only fragrance I could never locate at my nearest Dillard's. For some reason, they never carried it, or just never kept stock of it. Either way, I love the Aventus DNA and have been looking for a niche alternative other than Hacivat - gladly, a tester of this 100ml popped up for ~$100 - didn't hesitate. Aventus is relatively weak on my, and outside of CDNIM, I haven't tried cheap alternatives to it (as Hacivat prices are shooting up and quite difficult to get a hold of for less than $160 at discounters). Aventus Cologne was to be the killer and I just can't like it anymore. Comes Orion. What a smooth take on this smoky, woody, and fruity DNA! I get about 8-9 hours worth of moderate projection for the opening 2-3 hours, with good sillage. Not a beast, but a dressier-Ventus, don't know how to put it. Not as fruity, much less vibrant. My favorite part is around 1h into the wearing. TO DIE FOR!

This fragrance initially starts off with that Aventus DNA that many know, and it starts out in a very pleasant, natural way too. On dry down though, this fragrance really shines. It maintains a quite nice and smooth juicier fruity smell with the birch still clinging on for the zing and a light hint of amber, musk, and a pinch of florals to really make it a 3D, transformative smell. It's Aventus-like signature remains but moves to the background as a support for the other notes to share the stage. All-in-all, it's a great smell. Safe for just about any occasion and time and does its own thing from the Aventus DNA. If Creed made another more fruity and floral flanker for their flagship fragrance, I would imagine it would smell somewhat in the lines of this.

Irreplaceable. I pray they still make this. I though Aventus was "the scent," and I was wrong. This is it. This is the easily the best pineapple scent I've ever worn or smelled. I'd put it up there with my other all-time favorites that are still being produced. Being an extrait de parfum makes it even better. This in the summer, Lyric Man and Cafe Intense in the fall, Bleu De Chanel in the winter/spring, with some Terre d'Hermes as the seasons change; maybe some Chanel Declaration un Soir on a rainy day. If I had to pick my top 5 perfumes, this would always be in the bunch. Nothing is better on a summer day, and I can wear this year-round if I want. Fantastico.

I never found this as a derivative of Aventus, more so the twin brother of hacivat. I haven't smelled this fragrance in a couple of years and this may be a hot take but I believe this to be superior. I didn't smell it at first, but havinh with hacivat recently, I finally understand when people say that it smells like mildew the oak moss on it is just too unbearable on me anyway. This is much more dialed down and it also doesn't have that acrid opening that a lot of tiziana tirenzi fragrances have. Pro tip though; this actually works much better in the fall. I'm not sure why but that pineapple blooms so crazy when it's a little bit cool out.

I also own Aventus and I can understand some of the comparisons, but on equivocally Orion is a much higher quality perfume at half the price with allot more complexity. Also, the packaging of Orion is absolutely high end with an incredible sophisticated presentation. Aventus comes with a cheap bottle and label not to mention the cap, which is loose fitting, something I have never understood given the price level. For me Orion takes Aventus to a whole new level with twice the performance, projection, and sillage of Aventus. My 3 P's Price: 9/10 Projection: 8/10 Performance: 9/10

I have develop such a love for this fragrance, in stead of growing tired I love it more and more. A true masterpiece. I have Aventus, Hacivat and Afnan supremacy not only intense and Orión kind of smells like Hacivat mixed with Afanan, just as an illustrative point for the people that are familiar with those fragrances but Orión is not trying to copy anybody, is just such an amazing complex exquisite blend with a light yet very masculine fragrance with an addictive opening that gets even better as it dries down.This thing is as elegant as it is borderline aphrodisiac.

After seeing some of the reviews about longevity I can just say it could be about the amount of the juice that comes out of the sprayer. If we compare Orion’s sprayer to some other perfumes I think (it might be just mine bottle) that the sprayer is not really potent. What you get out from one spritz of Aventus you will need two from Orion. Atomizer is almost twice as potent on Aventus bottle than on this one so take that into account. Scent is beautiful, unique in it’s own way and pretty universal. Gonna be my signature scent definitely. 9/10 from me

My 3rd and latest addition from the house of Tiziana... and yes, it does smell like Aventus, but much much better. This is like the “niche” version of Aventus. The opening, the mid, and the base are all better. It’s perfectly balanced smoky and sweet. Aventus also has a very high quality ingredient smell of course, but this is just better. I got this blindly since L Nero, and Nero Oudh impressed me so much and I am very happy. My 2015 Aventus batch is down to 5 ml and this has replaced it. Amazing longevity with a fantastic dry down.

Extremely pleasant and beautiful scent. Juicy, smooth and very natural pineapple bergamot opening that keep going through all phases of the notes. Huge smokey birch and patchouli accords stand behind. This has Creed Aventus vibe but it is not a clone by all means as it is the case with mancera cedrat boise. Orion is very well blended, very refined, elegant, fresh and deep with unbelievable longevity, sillage and projection. Complements magnet and blind buy worthy. Two sprays last the whole day on skin and last days on clothes.

This has a scent that reminds me of my oil painting class as a kid. There was a lot of turpentine and thinners around, as well as the paints themselves. I don't know exactly what it is, but it evokes that scent memory for me. As for Aventus, it doesn't smell like oil paintings! But I do get the similarities. They are not interchangeable, but they smell similar enough in that they are complex, fruity, smoky, and woody scents that evolve over time. I'll let you smell and decide which one is better.

I love this scent. I almost get an incense like smell from it in the best way possible. This unique scent leaves me wanting to keep smelling it throughout the day as it settles. The pineapple stands out but it dances with some of the base notes. My skin chemistry brings out a relaxing sweetness. I can understand why people say Aventus but it's not trying to be that. It's more earthy and has a nice lil bit of smoke, I don't usually like smoke usually but here its so relaxed with the scents.

Once again Paolo Terenzi knocks it out of the park. This has that Aventus on steroids vibe but being 30% by volume.. it projects for days!! I think the best way to describe it is just imagine a very Smokey batch of Aventus! Definitely not a clone cause i think Orion has its own thing going on. If you love Aventus, you're going to really love this juice. Waiting on anther bottle now. Went tru the first bottle already!! LOVE IT!
