Wezen

I passed by Harrods last year while I was septembering in London, as Wezen had just been released on that very day. When I tried it, of course I thought it was lovely, yet a tad too masculine to my liking. I am rather awkward around patchouli; I either love it or I don't, I have yet to figure out what makes it fly and what doesn't (perhaps the origin? Like I've come to find out I don't f*cks with vetivers, roses and ouds of certain countries - how racist is my nose, right?). But anywho... I kept the strip as a bookmark and sort of forgot about it until today. The paper still very much smells! And has really smoothened out, maybe when I become millionnaire I will consider splurging on a bottle.

Big bold bombastic woody aromatic fougere in the typical style of this house. The scent opens with a burst of lavender, sage, bergamot, and a pronounced saffron. The heart is mostly a floral medley but also has an infusion of nutmeg and incense. The perfume settles on a powdery bed of patchouli, oud, amber and oakmoss. It’s a kitchen sink but it’s so gorgeous. Fans of Xerjoff Alexandria II will find much to like here. The masculine leaning scent has strong sillage and lasts forever. Enjoy!

It opens floral-sweet, spicy and very herbal(I can see it's sage) It dries down into a sweet-floral-patchouli with slight touches of Oud. It's "nice" but nothing extraordinary. I thought of it " well, another frutchouli." PS: I described what I smelled, not copying the notes above into a "review"! IYKWIM?
