Sonder — 笑忘录

Fresh, clean and floral. I am in love with this fragrance. Tested this during a trip to China and was drawn to how it reminded me of things that I cannot remember. The fragrance radiates for about an hour on me and envelops me in a cocoon of refinement that is not overpowering or sickly.

This is quite a special fragrance. I purchased a full bottle earlier today, and I can’t stop spraying myself so I can go on the thrilling journey from opening to drydown. Sonder is a walk through a community spice garden. It opens with a zesty green ginseng, and I’m surprised to not find grapefruit or pomelo in the notes. There’s definitely a bit of coral-tinted citric juiciness there. Then about 10 minutes in, the ginseng is met with ginger as they dance with dewy, stemmy flowers... It’s around this point that the sparkling ginseng and ginger are slowly replaced by a stately fennel, framed in reclaimed wood. The dry-down is earthy, almost like fennel & tree bark tea (Clary sage often comes off as tea to my nose). This is absolutely the spring spice garden fragrance I didn’t know I needed (though it’s definitely an all-seasons scent). I know I’m going to have to stop myself from wearing it every day...
