Of The Gods

A new brand from the guys that worked for Aesop? Ok, im interested. Of the Gods is a case study on how to create a fragrance that is both deep and fresh, perfect for almost every wheather and for every occasion, super chic and casual at the same time. Im a patchouli lover so every launch with this ingredient beeing a central one is a holiday for me. This one stole my heart almost immedietely. It has everything i love, starting with super crisp and fresh petitgrain. Its green, woody and little citrusy facets resembeling geranium are what drives me nuts. Following petitgrain you can also smell sweet and sparkling orange peel in the begining. Then immedietly after, a huge stomp of dark green, woody patchouli(little bit vintage), mixed with dry cedarwood and Iso E Super woody like note which gives transparency to the whole composition but also a lasting power. Unfortunatelly I dont know how Polygonum smells like, i've read that its a distant cousin of Lily of the Valley, so i can imagine a green, watery and a bit creamy note intertwined with other ingredients. Its definitely worth trying especially considering that you can use theirs deodorant and shower gel from the same line, and smell of this divinity on every inch of your skin. The price point for their deodorants, a bit steep, but the EDP ha a great $$$

Beautiful unique fresh green citrus. Best after shower fragrance. However it disappears from my skin after 2 hours.

To the extent this is helpful I’m leaving an impression of the roll on deodorant which I understand to smell the same as the Eau de Parfum. The fragrance is quite expensive and would have been a blind buy so I went with the deodorant as a means of sampling. It’s exactly what the listed notes state it is, a green subtle citrus, soapy and clean with patchouli backbone. Fresh not a deep/dark patchouli. I normally buy deodorant at the grocery store, in comparison this is very strong and you definitely notice the fragrance to the point I think it’ll clash with my scent of the day. In agreement with below, heavy dose of ISO E super, or similar. Not miles away from Hermes Concentre d’Orange Verte. I think it smells quite similar. Minus the ISO E.
