Emelia

It starts off acidic and green with sweet citrus undertones. The vegetal green of fig leaf and citrusy clementine. It's a very soothing and serene natural smell, like fresh vegetation. I also smell lemongrass and coconut that reminds me of my Mom's favorite Thai coconut chicken soup - Tom Kha Gai (iykyk). I wonder if that is the buchu? At various points, I can smell faint amaryllis, fig, and maté. As the drydown progresses, the smell of ambrette contrasts with the scent of praline, while the coconut, vegetal, zesty scent remains. This is such an unusual and lovely perfume, and, of course, it's discontinued! So far, my favorite from Tocca. It's very captivating. When I wore this on skin, I remember that it kept evolving into something unique and unexpected. It's amazing what was created from such disparate notes. Very well blended and surprising!

I love this fragrance....maybe even more than I can remember loving another....maybe. NOT a knock your socks of choice, so if you are wanting to make a large statement this will probably not be the one for you. I refer to this as my "Grace under fire" perfume. This is because I cannot think of a better way to describe how it makes me feel. It smells like Grace in a bottle to me. If I anticipate the kind of day where I need to keep my cool in the face of adversity or juggle many things at once flawlessly...I will always Choose Tocca Emelia. All of the sweet notes are divine. And although I am not really a "green notes" lover, This one has just the perfect amount to make me feel fresh and clean as well as sweet. This will be repurchased by me the second I get low. A staple in my life. Sweet, sweet Emelia.....

This is absolutely sublime! I’m a lover of fig notes and my fig perfume collection is slowly growing, this being the latest. I adore Emelia! It’s different than the normal sweet fig I’m used to in my other perfumes, this is green and fresh and crisp but so very sophisticated and effortless. It’s an immediate favorite, and it doesn’t hurt that the bottle is absolutely stunning. Performance could be better but much like with my Bottega Veneta Illusione - I can forgive having to reapply for the amazing scent. Honestly 10/10 for me.

This is the loveliest fig fragrance I've smelled in years, It's like Premier Figueur in that it has lots of fig blossoms as well as a touch of juicy fig fruits. The loquat (probably my all time favorite fruit) is unmistakable, and it's just mesmerizing. This is the only fragrance I've smelled with loquat that I can truly smell the loquat. Swooooooooooooooon.Beautiful, wonderful scent!

The first perfume I ever fell in love with. So many unique notes coming together to make a beautifully blended, well-rounded scent. I get white florals, lots of fig, iris, and praline. I wear this to formal events when I want to feel sophisticated. Great longevity, great sillage. I’m so sad that this is discontinued.

This is a very unique fragrance. I smell floral...oh wait, it’s powdery...oh wait, it’s coconut. The transformation from initial spritz to drydown is strange. But i love it! I want to buy a large bottle of this, if only the longevity were better. I feel like it’s gone in two hours, which makes me sad.

Emelia surprised me on multiple fronts. For one, she leans almost unisex in the heart notes, there's something crisp and masculine about it that I can't quite name. She also isn't as sweet as I had hoped, which is a bit of a let down considering that's what I was looking for. The fruit at the beginning is very sharp almost more like a tangerine, but as a fan of citrus this did not bother me. It was not, however, very sweet. I kept waiting for that praline and coconut to steal the show but they never did. They were certainly there once everything else faded but even then it left something to be desired. I can see the comparison to shampoo but only a little, not enough to drive me away as I am not a fan of soapy scents. All in all I don't dislike the fragrance but I DO feel something is missing. I will be playing with layering Emelia with something that has some softness on the bottom and a little more sweetness to balance.

I love pleasant surprises! I didn't have any expectations for this one because I don't like fruity florals, and they all smell pretty much the same to me, but I actually really liked it a lot. It smells very clean and pleasant -doesn't smell like a garden on steroids (which is what florals usually smell like to me), laundry detergent (which is usually what "clean" scents smell like to me), or a sugar bomb (which is generally what fruity florals smell like to me). I tried the rollerball, and for such a a light scent, it had decent sillage initially, and I could still smell it as a skin scent 6 hours later and after a yoga workout. When I got home and looked at the notes, I see why I like it - it has a lot of green, all it's notes are rather unusual, and it has fig - love fig. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for something in the fruity floral category that doesn't smell like everything else. Nice little gem.

Love it or hate it, Emilia is for sure a unique and memorable scent. Personally, it is a holiday/resort scent rather than for everyday (mostly due to the prominent ‘green’ notes). In some strange way, I feel it would almost be a waste to use Emilia as an everyday scent. To me, Emilia is an imaginary escape, it smells like the breathe of a dynamic rainforest. The opening begins with the wind blowing through a damped forest, the fresh, lush greenness is pungent to the face; when the wind settles, the natural, sharp sweetness of the forest fruits begins to emerge; the sweetness is grounded by a damp, earthy aroma. To me, Emilia feels ‘alive’. The complex layer of the perfume perfectly evokes in me the feeling of being transported back to a peaceful but at the same time lively forest. Where I am free. I picture Emilia’s wearer as a free spirited individual who truly appreciates the joy of nature exploration.

This smelled fusty and almost rancid a year ago, but now—I love it. I’m surprised the bachu isn’t rated as more prominent since that camphorous quality is definitely what I get most in the first hour, along with the fig and grass. It’s lovely and aromatic, very invigorating on a summer morning. The grass note is less crisp than in some other perfumes, slightly sweeter and more watery. The dry down is beautiful; it gives the feeling of all-natural spa products and the very subtle coconut suggests the spa is somewhere in the tropics. Off the top of my head I would put this somewhere between Very Irresistible (if it had fig instead of rose) and Caligna (if it were camphorous instead of terpenic), with Emelia being my favourite of the three. Unisex but feminine-leaning and all in all just natural and aromatic and addictive.

When I think of fig I usually think of dark and syrupy fig notes. It took me a while to recognize the beautiful green figginess here, but it's really nice. I would say this is first and foremost a magnolia fig scent. It's very floral on me and feels very pretty, but not in a pretty pretty princess sort of way. I get a nice floral fruity scent that I'd say is the loquat. It does have some similarities to kumquat in the first hour, that adds fun interest. After two or three hours I do get some soapiness alternating with a beautiful green fig scent. I think that soapiness is the iris, making this one of my favorite iris scents. Typically it just doesn't sit well on me I'm liking it. Sadly it's gone by hour 5.

This is the most unique of the Tocca's I've tried. This is a nicely balanced blend of fig, green, and floral elements. I can't adequately explain, it's sweet but not cloying. I love the fig, it transports me to a calm and dreamy place. It has just the right amount of coconut. I wouldn't wear it regularly if it had too much coconut since it has too many beach, cocktail, and sunscreen associations for me. The floral notes are there, but subtle. I don't find the citrus notes. No perception of residual soapiness or powder on me. I'm glad I found a big bottle at the big box discount fashion store. Edit: I did happily find the clementine. It seems to show up and linger if sprayed on clothing.

The opening of this is a wild ride through fig leaf, to coconut, to green grass, to mild sweetness. However after the dry down, on me it becomes a truly beautiful, fresh fragrance that smells of not just one note. It is blended so well that it's hard to say any one note actually sticks out (or is highly identifiable). Definitely a spring/summer fragrance, sticks to the skin stubbornly but doesn't have tons of sillage. Feminine, but not overly floral or sweet. Clean smelling but not soapy. This could be a safe blind buy for folks who like not sweet coconut combined with green/fresh fragrances.

I'm not getting any creaminess other reviewers are. This is very fresh, green, and citrus-y on me. It's almost cologne-like, it has a subtle masculinity on me. But I like that. It's very different from other Tocca scents. It has unisex appeal and seems to be one of those scents that you can wear without really thinking about it. It's very clean and appropriate for most occasions. It reminds of Bianca in that regard. It's not show-stopping, but it's dependable. I can't put my finger on it, but this is very similar to something by Atelier Cologne as well.

Sharp citrus, faint coconut, lots of green freshness. Leans unisex and reminds me of men’s cologne. Then when it’s dry, it has creamy floral elements, and I can’t stop sniffing my arm! On paper, this one isn’t my style. But I like it anyway. Reminds me of a summer morning when you can smell cut grass and a neighborhood full of plants and trees while the air is still a bit cool. Lovely.

This is my kind of summer/beachy scent. I don’t enjoy perfumes that smell tropical, they often lean too sunscreen-y for me and give me a headache. But the coconut here is very subtle, coconut water rather than coconut milk. It’s fresh and clean, slightly sweet, floral. One of my favorites from Tocca.

Really nice, actually - there's a strong coconut note that brings creaminess to the green figs. To me it's an herbal scent, albeit a nice sweet & milky one. Quite lactonic, and smells veeery similar to Terry de Gunzburg Flagrant Delice, with the Terry being a bit stronger on the milky coconut.

Opening: fresh cut grass, Fig leaf, and citrus (loquat). Very green and fresh. It reminds me of Rosabotanica. Heart: amaryllis/floral Dry down: tea/mate. Reminds me of several other tea fragrances. Sillage: soft Longevity: just a few hours

Green, reminds me of the ocean, a bit soapy - not typically a smell that I enjoy. It's difficult to give this a review because I don't wear this often enough. It's just OK, not likely to repurchase.

I don't always like fig scents, but it works well with the creamy coconut. It is pleasant enough, but a bit soft and understated for my taste. Very sweet and feminine.

Emelia starts with green notes, fig leaf and a punch of citrus that isn't sweet enough to resemble mandarin in my opinion. There might be some magnolia, coconut and milky fig in the background, but this is way too tart, sour and sharp for me. When the citrus vanishes it becomes woody and milky with the fig and its leaf. But as soon as the sourness is gone, the remaining scent is really faint. The base is a very light mixture of fig leaf, greens, some musk and a hint of sunscreen coconut. This part is my favorite, but also the weakest. Overall I miss some sweetness in this fragrance - the praline note isn't there at all, the coconut isn't sweet, and a bit of sweetness would definitely bring balance and give the fragrance some power apart from the sour topnotes blast. Not a fan.

Judging by the note pyramid Emelia should be way up my alley, so I'm disappointed to say I agree with SailorV, whose sample I "inherited": unfortunately, I'm not a fan either. All those lovely notes are barely discernible, hidden behind a cloud of generic feminine freshness - it has a bit of a shampoo vibe to it, especially in the opening. It's not a bad scent, and when I pay close attention I do smell some nice aspects to it: a good but very faint milky fig note and just a hint of coconut. But it's not enough to make this anything more than "just okay", and I was hoping for so much more. Too bad!

A pleasantly soft green fragrance. I like fig fragrances and this one is likeable, I’d imagine less divisive than fig fragrances can sometimes be. The coconut really shines through which also helps this lean very spring and summer. It’s perfectly pleasant, but doesn’t really stand out in any way for me.

I mostly smell sharp, musty citrus in the first ten minutes. Its not very pleasant, more like cooked oranges (rind and all). I thought I would love it, since fig and coconut are my favorite combo, but these notes kind of get lost in a mish-mash of citrus-green soup.

Surprised no one has mentioned it, but this gave me the same vibe as Ellis Brooklyn’s Myth, which does NOT work on my skin. There’s a green sharpness that I don’t like, it’s a scrubber for me. Trying to figure out if I just don’t do well with Fig scents.?

This opens very screechy and sharp. The citrus is tangy and sour. It does settle down a bit, but it stays too green for my personal taste. It ends up feeling cold and aloof.

None of the fruit notes come through for this perfume, even after hours (on paper and skin). All I get is grass and green notes that are so sharp it can make you cough if you keep smelling it. It is more for a man, but even after going back to smell the paper I sprayed 20+ hours later, it was still leaning masculine. My brother liked the smell on the paper. You will not get any coconut, clementine, praline, loquat etc. You will get suffering and suffering only.

These Tocca girls, are they sisters, or cousins who bear a striking resemblance to one another? I find a good number of these girls to be riffs on the same floral notes. That is not to same they smell the same, but more that many are sweet clean florals that would be just at home in the laundry or bath as they are perfume. Very bright and fresh, there really aren't a lot of identifiable notes that jump out at me in this for some reason, other than green grass and sweet flowers. The iris makes it a bit darker and less sparkly than, say Isabel, but she's more like her sisters than, say, Cleopatra, who is a beast unto herself. The longevity is whisper in the breeze, however, and really needs improvement. I broke one of those delicate glass sample bottles of Emelia on my wood floor recently and was worried that I would never smell anything else in that room again. By morning, it was but a faint trace..my wallflower plug-in in the next room was stronger in the air.

The first Tocca I bought a full sized bottle of and it looks gorgeous on my dressing table. I like pretty much everything I try from Tocca but Emelia was one that blew me away. I usually don't care for fig scents because they tend to be syrupy sweet, but not Emelia. This is a fresh, green fig with that signature Tocca treatment that reminds me of a watercolor painting. I smell the clementine orange very strongly when first sprayed and then later it's fig leaves, magnolia and a green tea type accord. Really lovely! Makes me feel so calm and peaceful when I smell it, as if nothing can ruin my day.

It is figgy and coconuty and green. On first spray I get a blast of coconut and fig leaf. Then as it dries down I get the fig scent with the fig leaf lingering in the background. The coconut is still very much present. It is a watery fragrance to me. Very beautiful and while I feel the "green" may just be the fig leaf I am smelling, it is almost grassy. I can also smell something in the background the longer it is on my skin but more of a blend of notes versus anything in particular. I think this is a well made fragrance. 5 sprays: 6 hours on my skin projected around arm's length

Really lovely fragrance. It smells aquatic, sweet, fresh, soapy, and sometimes a little sunscreeny-but not in a bad way. It’s well blended so I have to concentrate to pick out individual notes. But I get some coconut, fig, and a hint of lemon. I don’t usually think of this sort of fragrance being for me, but I might have to change my mind because this is so nice. It makes me think of eating outside at a resort in the Mediterranean, on a breezy summer day, drinking a limoncello. The more I smell this the more I like it. Reminds me of Salt Air by Skylar.

When I married my husband, our first house was a tiny cottage with a fig tree outside the bedroom window. In the morning, when the sun came up, the breeze blowing in the window smelled of green, not-quite-ripe fig and wet fig leaves. That's what Emelia smells like - green, nearly ripe fig. If you're looking for a gourmand, syrupy fig, then this isn't it. This is the dew-wet green of morning, the delicate first light in the sky. Beautiful.

Gorgeous fragrance. Reminds me very much of Annick Goutal Mio, somehow with more citrus. Long lasting, close to skin and very feminine. It's very clean and soft. Opens up best in warm weather. Imagine that its summer time and you just came out of a shower & you falling naked into clean white sheets...... This is the feeling i get wearing this fragrance. Well, i do not feel naked, just this fresh and light :)

Emelia is like spring in a bottle! On me, it's a very citrusy, floral, and green. I love fig notes and the one in this one is actually pretty different; sweet but not as sweet as I usually smell. The fig comes out after about an hour and sweetens it up, but it's still keeps that citrusy, green feel. I don't really get coconut at any point. This was included in a tocca discovery kit.

What a remarkably "meh" fragrance. Very, very faint. The green fig smell is nice, especially with the nutty undertone, but the whole thing is so subtle and forgettable...I'd heard a lot about Tocca fragrances and hoped for something more. This one doesn't seem to live up to the hype.

I tried this in Sephora the other day. It smelled very floral citrus on me - which I liked, but the staying power was not the best. Three, four hours tops. And I was fairly generous with my sprays. Not sure if that's typical for Tocca? I'd never tried any of their fragrances before.

On me this is all watery green citrus notes. Sadly, I'm not getting any of the fig or coconut that others are. Definitely unisex and even a little masculine. It's not bad, but not what I was looking for. And IMO it smells nothing like Philosykos, my HG fig scent.

On me, this ended up being a citrusy floral. I didn't get fig or coconut, which was disappointing. It smells fresh and sharp on this cool rainy day, but maybe the creaminess other reviewers smelled would be more evident on a warm day. Not a favorite, but okay.

*slides down the wall sobbing!!! Why for the love of all things holy, did they discontinue this??? This was hands down the best of Tocca’s lineup and now it’s a mere memory. I gotta be in a fever dream. Smh

Clean, green, a little bit sweet. The sweetness I get is from the clementine and the fig, I don’t get any praline. Definitely more unique then a lot of fresh scents. It’s shame it’s been discontinued.

Really lovely in the beginning - creamy coconut, grass, and the earthiness of the figs. After about 30 minutes that all fades and this just becomes a nondescript white floral.
