My favorite food is oatmeal. My favorite color is pale yellow. My favorite garment is a blue sweater. I like Phillip Glass music for its repetition. There is beauty in the plain and ordinary, beauty that does not seek attention but stillness and constancy. Which is what I get from Gia. It has enough rose to be rosy without being overpowering. The orange keeps it fresh. Pink pepper is overused these days, but here it is a great note for energizing. I chose this as my signature because it is always wearable, always a comfort. Dependable, never weird. Never too much. Is it the most beautiful scent to me? No, that would be L'Artisan Parfumeur Seville A L'Aube, a fragrance that can be overpowering, the Wagnerian opera version of perfume. But Gia is the perfume I can wear no matter what. My husband bought it for me for no reason other than he likes it. So that is enough.

Another gorgeous scent from Tocca. And this one actually lasted a good 4 hours on the skin! I’m very tempted to buy myself yet another rose perfume... Starts off as a pink rose with bright sharp citrus on top, which my husband’s untrained nose thought was rather pineappley—the tangerine and pepper. Then a jammy sweet-tart rose is the star of the show! I use Lush’s Rose Jam body wash and while this didn’t immediately bring that scent to mind, I can see how they have a lot of the same notes. I think the vanilla anchors this down a bit more. An absolute love, for me, but it falls well into the parameters of my established taste so that’s no surprise.

This one is feminine and pretty, almost fairy-tale-like, as becomes a rose-scented perfume. I wanted to use it as a signature scent after getting it as a sample and falling in love with it. Unfortunately, it's not great for daily wear, but it is perfect for a date night. The fragrance isn't very persistent, and I have no complaints from my friends who get headaches with strong scents. The bottle is gorgeous and looks perfect on my vanity. I have no regrets about buying this perfume. Tl;dr if you're looking for something for special occasions and prefer something in the mid-range of prices, this one is a pretty good choice!

Before even smelling it, the beauty of this bottle alone is enough. Yet, it doesn't disappoint upon testing. A strong scented rose which is only bolstered by the peppery notes, affording it an atypical type of spiciness to a scent. The rich and tangy citrus gives it even more punch, while the sandalwood smooths the scent, preventing it from being too harsh on the senses. At first it appears to be a very daytime, warm weather, type of scent, but is actually quite versatile and could work in cold weather/night time situations.

I really like this. The bottle being red feel appropriate, if that makes sense. It’s bright and a little bit zesty. I get a little bitterness, like maybe some of the rind from the tangerine in addition to the juice. I don’t get any vanilla, really, it’s more sharp and floral than sweet, even in the dry down. It’s pretty linear - what you smell at the opening sticks with you through the wear - but some days I like that. I want easy and simple, but I want it to last longer than a body spray, and Gia is perfect for that.

A creamsicle for grownups! This is such a pretty little scent, I'm surprised at the ambivalence about it. Yes it's a fruity rose, but the pepper zing and dry vanilla-sandalwood base give it an introspectiveness and maturity that I don't usually expect from that genre. Maybe it is just the power of suggestion, knowing it was inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe, but I quite like it and find it an easy blind reach. It's certainly simple and easy to wear, but feels thoughtfully composed and far from body spray territory.

Bright citrusy rose. If you like rose scents I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, although I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the class and probably leans a bit generic. A safe blind buy for anyone who likes florals. Suits daytime in warm weather. I find all TOCCA scents to have pretty poor longevity and sillage; this one is on the better end of the range but I still only get about 2, maybe 3 hours.

looove this. its the most fruity rose scent i have. very sweet rose. to me the dry down smells like miss dior absolutely blooming with the vanilla and pink pepper (another fragrance i love). not a mature rose. lasts a a pretty long time on me. i only have the roller ball so not a ton of projection. my bf loves this one - he actually picked it out!

Ooh i like this. This is a gorgeous bright rose and citrus fragrance. This smells just what I'd imagine a love potion to smell like! She's sweet, she's sexy and passionate. The rose adds a lovely jammy element but its not thick and cloying. I absolutely love this! The citrus and rose go so so well together I was really pleasantly surprised!

smells really good, I love layering this one with other scents as well. rosy, pleasant, the beauty of this perfume is how versatile it is. Basic? I guess, but you could argue that wearing Chanel No. 5 is "basic." To each their own, I think this perfume is elegant sweet, soapy. maybe it's the pink pepper. i love that shit.

My signature fragrance, obsessed from first sniff! I'm a big fan of rose scents, but I really love how the citrus notes in this give it such a unique and sexy feel. Instantly makes me feel happy and confident when I wear it.

Wow, I really love this. Juicy, sweet, simple and very light. I didn't expect to like this scent so much, but it definitely has a bit of an enchanting, fairy-like component that I absolutely love.

Bright, main character juicy rose scent. Major compliment getter. I wanna inject it into my damn brain I love it so much. Addicting!!!! Been my signature for years now.

Love love love. Flirty pepper, sweet fruit, warm vanilla. I adore "rouge vanilla" scents and Gia is a perfect choice if you do, too.

Sweet, peppery Turkish rose. Compliment getter. A bit powdery but not overly so. Beautiful fragrance.

Gia is another generic but pleasant feminine scent from Tocca - seems to be this brand's specialty. It is a simple scent, focused on a bright, jammy rose note. Sweet and youthful, it is best worn in warm weather. It is very reminiscent of Lush Rose Jam. I love rose in perfume, but prefer darker, spicier rose scents in general. Gia is rose-forward from initial spray, with bright tangerine enhancing its sweet fruitiness at the opening. Some pink pepper adds rosy spice as it develops, coming to the fore after the sweet, uplifting orange subsides somewhat. It remains rosy throughout, with a sweet amber-vanilla accord emerging in the base as it dries down. Soft woody notes creep in during the later stages, and it fades to become a sweet, musky-vanilla skin scent with remnants of rose remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. Good quality, good performance and pleasant throughout, Gia is, in a nutshell, a sweet rose scent. Simple and effective, but nothing unusual. 3/5.

Body chemistry is such a personal and funny thing. I get heavy pepper upon first application, rose a close second. So for a couple hours I have a very hot rose. Then it dries down to a nondescript vanilla sorta rose. If it stayed that hot rose I'd love this scent, as it is, I just like it. Sillage and longevity are par for the course with Tocca, so somewhere between weak and moderate. Still, if you can find at a decent price (not retail) it's worth buying. TJ Maxx in my area had a huge selection this year, so I stocked up on my faves. Packaging is gorgeous IMO. Edit 9/21: This ages beautifully. When the perfume settles and mixes with some oxygen from spraying, it is a beautiful sweet, fresh~ish, hot vanilla rose. Again, sillage and longevity are classic Tocca, so I wouldn't pay more than $30 for a small size for this, but if you can find it at a deal this is nice. A strong like.

Not rosey enough for me. I have soooo many better rose perfumes. To me, this is a very pleasant, surprisingly longlasting sweet floral...I got a free bottle and it's really great if you like sweet florals. They aren't my favorites. That said, Tocca makes very pretty perfumes. Stella and Giulietta are my two favorites. Gia lasts longer than most Tocca perfumes. Very carefree...youthful and optimistic. If sweet florals are your thing, this is a very good one to try. NOTE- some reviewers mention patchouli, which IS a favorite note for me. There is absolutely NO patchouli in this perfume. Nor does it belong here..it would take away from the perfume by grounding it, when it needs to elevate and soar, like the brightly radiant scent that it is.

I rather like Gia and may pick up a bottle. I just adore the Tocca bottles and want as many of their perfumes as I know I will like and wear on a regular basis and Gia is one that I would. Gia starts off w/ a sweet tangerine note mingling w/ rose, a softly spicy pink pepper is there to add lift, but it never becomes a "sneeze" in a bottle. Pink pepper can be overpowering in some perfumes but here it just adds depth and lift. Gia is a bright but still sweet citrus rose w/ a bit of spice and vanilla. Nothing groundbreaking but what I like about her is she smells like real roses and that is often not found in affordable rose scents. If you like roses and want something you can wear every day and year-round Gia is one to check out.

This smells like rose Kool-Aid being sipped on by a little red fairy. Not too much rose though, but the little bit of rose I do get does smell a bit jammy or candied. Also very juicy and mouth-watering. I don't get the pepper, thankfully. To me, this is sweet and happy, but not overly saccharine. It does smell very red to me. I don't think it smells like Lush Rose Jam at all--that one smells more like lotiony rose petals and it's nice too, but Rose Jam just isn't as distinctive in character or brightly juicy as Gia. Gia is a hidden gem that doesn't get much hype. Hey, that just means more Gia for those of us in the know!

******snorrrrrre****** This a fruity rose supported by pink pepper, which gives it a “fresh” edge. It’s been umpteen years since I’ve smelled Malibu Musk, but the vibe of Gia recalls that memory. As the like bar on this page suggests, it smells good but it’s nothing to write home about. It strikes me as a fragrance for a sorority type girl in college. It’s not very sophisticated which makes it young and uncomplicated. It’s freshness has a naive optimism. I never saw the Legally Blonde movies, but I can imagine this is the fragrance Reese Witherspoon’s character would wear.

This smells 95% like the original VS Bombshell, which I like, not love and I like Bombshell a WHOLE lot better than Gia. Gia is a very forgettable fragrance, in my opinion. I use the term "RL Romance" to describe scents that are forgettable because to me, Romance is probably the most overhyped forgettable fragrance I've ever smelled. So is Dior J'Adore, this doesn't smell like Romance or J'Adore but it registers the same feelings that those two popular frags do and that is "yawnnnnn." Boring. I tried a sample and I scrubbed it. YMMV.

Smells really lovely. A great spray and go scent for warmer weather. Purchased this because it smelled wonderful on a coworker. Her skin chemistry made it smell Amazing. I’m not a fan of the typical designer fruity floral fragrances but for some reason this one is very pleasant to me. It’s a juicy tangerine rose that dries down into a warm vanilla. It should be generic and boring, but to my nose but it’s just lovely and definitely has that red fairy feel as mentioned below.

the smell out of the bottle is nice, which is why i usually spray this on my clothes, so that my skin chemistry doesn't alter it. on my skin i mainly get tangerine, pepper, and sandalwood; no vanilla or rose. I wouldn't buy this again, although it is a good daily scent. Obviously not everyone is gonna like the way you smell, but i doubt this would be an extreme offender to many. I'm still getting into fragrances and figuring out what i like, keep that in mind.

This is intensely tangerine/citrus to my nose on a cotton pad and I smell a whiff of something creamy (the sandalwood I'm assuming) and I sense the pink pepper and rose in the background. I'm going to try this on skin when it warms up more and hopefully the notes will meld together in a more pleasing way than on the cotton pad. Not that it smells bad, but that tangerine is so strong it's borderline sour so hopefully, it will calm down on my skin.

A beautiful, candied rose with a touch of woody-amber. It’s good but it’s doesn’t knock my socks off. I’m a bit to a rose snob, so I can acknowledge this one is nice but I have many other rose scents I would prefer to wear over this. I will say that this has much better performance than a lot of Tocca’s other scents. A really nice day or night time summer scent. I have a 1.7 oz bottle for sale or swap. PM if you’re interested.

A really pretty and sweet fruity-rose combo, I think the tangerine note is the strongest for the top and heart notes which puts this in the category of spring and summer perfumes for me! The rose in this is jammy, but not cloying or strong and it lasts through the heart notes. The dry down is a sweet vanilla and sandalwood with a hint of the rose remaining. I found the perfume lasted around 4 hours for me and leans feminine.

I'm a sucker for an ombré bottle. Plus, this perfume is my namesake so of course I enjoy it! It's a creamy citrus floral done right. I'm particular about rose scents but this is pleasant. The rollerball and travel spray are more aesthetically pleasing than the traditional Tocca dome so I'll only buy those. Would be nice layered with other vanilla scents. It doesn't last long on it's own.

Personally it’s not very heavy. It’s a very basic floral scent. I personally don’t pick up on any fruit but the rose is very clear without being powdery or heavy. I don’t pick up on any cinnamon but there is a slight bit of vanilla. It’s not unpleasant but it’s also not very original scent wise either. It’s pretty nice for when I want a simple rose scent that won’t last too long.

A lovely and bright tangerine-rose scent. Unfortunately this sweet mood booster doesn’t last more than 20 minutes on me. Atop of that it’s quite simplistic for the price tag. You get can similar, better performing and well-rounded perfumes for less, such as Rose and Rose by Issey Miyake or Rose Jam from Lush. I don’t dislike Gia but I’m finding it hard to justify getting a FB.

I really enjoy the scent of this perfume! I’m not usually a rose lover but this rose is so sweet (even gourmand like) with a warm spice that is really creates a cozy yet elegant scent. It’s not powdery or mature smelling it gives a very youthful carefree feeling! There is a brightness to it from the tangerine that is sweet and succulent. Overall it is a pretty scent!

This scent when I first smellef it reminded me of rose flavored turkish delights. The initial smell is very edible and it dries down into a vanilla citrus, (very faint vanilla). Its my favorite from the tocca line with cleopatra. The bottle is very cute. It makes for a great springtime scent and reminds me of making rose jam with my grandmother.

Tangerine marmalade and crushed pink rose petals, with a spark of blushing pink pepper at the very top. Kitten heels, silk slip dresses, a string quartet. The very posh gold-and-marble bathroom at a wealthy acquaintance’s 400-guest spring garden wedding, everything in soft focus. Romantic, wistful, feminine.

One of my favourites from Tocca. Opens with a bright burst of tangerine and dries down to a jammy rose scent, with subtle hints of sandalwood and vanilla to help round out the sweetness. Very youthful and flirty! Unfortunately, it lasts about 30 minutes on me before disappearing.

Honestly I only have the sample but it straight up smells like a slightly grown up and more complex version of Rose Jam from Lush, which is a good thing cause I love Rose Jam, it’s just better as a shower gel imo. I might try Gia right after the shower to see how it is with it

Rediscovered a tiny rollerball in my collection, must have been a deluxe sample -- beautiful packaging for a fruity floral. Juicy, sweet, tart, fresh citrus rose. Reminds me of another rollerball I have, Coach Poppy Blossom. They do share the citrus, rose, and vanilla notes.

Beautiful jammy rose scent. Not much else. I don't find myself reaching for this often but on me it does have a beautiful silage & scent bubble. My husband loves this perfume which is the only reason I haven't decluttered it.

The bottle of this fragrance describes the smell perfectly. Very red pepper and citrus. It's a nice jammy scent with a bit of spice. I do like it. Very feminine with the rose notes.

in the bottle at least (haven’t worn it much) this smells exactly like the roll up tape bubblegum you find in grocery store checkout lines. 100% in a good way

This is a sweet rose on me. Not photorealistic, but pleasant. I don't get any pink pepper or cinnamon on me, which is a shame. I wouldn't repurchase this.

Gia is citrusy and rosy with a little spice and soft woodiness. It's nice enough, but not quite my style.

Scent Notes on Tocca's website: Top: Tangerine, Bergamot, Pink Peppercorn Middle: Turkish Rose Absolute, Ylang Ylang, Orris Butter, Tuberose Bottom: Amber, Vanilla, Vetiver, Patchouli It's a lovely fragrance that I still need to explore. It somehow manages to last longer than expected but without producing an overwhelming cloud. It's an understated fragrance and possibly my favorite from their Discovery Kit. The rose it in is lovely and if you're a rose lover, I think you'll enjoy Gia for this note alone. Pink Peppercorn, Amber, Vetiver, and Tuberose are notes I struggle with - but this composition is executed well enough that I think I'll finish the sample and go from there. For my personal rating, it's between "ok" and "like" - the sillage is lovely though and it honestly wears beautifully. I put it on this morning and have just reapplied (one spritz each time). The patchouli in this one is similar to YSL Mon Paris (and flankers) patchouli though it's not as pronounced here. Overall, if you want a semi-sweet floral composition with a bright opening and aromatic base notes (and a lovely vanilla to tie it all together), this might be the one for you!

This started as a fruity lightly peppered rose. It's quite pleasant but it disappeared so quickly on me. It was also just a little boring to me. I think the pink pepper, rose and citrus/tart fruit has been done better, many times in recent years. It doesn't last long enough on me for the base notes to make themselves known on me. Within an hour it is difficult to detect on my skin, by two hours it's completely gone. I have went through two samples wearing it 3 or 4 times and it performs just as poorly each time. Spraying on clothes really doesn't help much...maybe an extra 30-60 minutes. Overspraying does help with projection, but I didn't feel like it helped with longevity. If this lasts on you it would be lovely in spring since it is light and fresh with a subtle airy sweetness. Tocca's beautiful bottles and reasonable price point make this an appealing brand, but try something other than Gia.

I like Tocca a lot, but struggle a bit with Gia. It’s such a harsh rose because it has that citrus and pepper in it. It does have a sweet layer but is not sweet as a composition (in my opinion- but I like sweet, so that’s relative). If anything I find it kind of bitter actually. It’s interesting because normally I would expect roses to be gentle and soft, but this one is fierce and moody. I think in the end that combination makes it feel synthetic, at least to my nose. It reminds me a lot of Versace Red Jeans, despite the notes listing as different. VRJ is like a fizzier, more soda poppy version. If you like one you possibly will like the other.

This was such a big pile of nothing for me. Pretty, yes, but what about the actual composition? A little sweet, a little warm, inoffensively floral and a bit fruity without really being juicy. I don't think the pink pepper does it any favors, I would've rather had cinnamon or maybe something balsamic. Compared to other offerings from Tocca, I found Gia generic. I like rose quite a bit, and I was disappointed that they didn't do anything special with it. A rose middle note should seduce and impress me, not sit quietly in the background adding its voice to the chorus. I just didn't care for it. Not bad, not great, just fine.
