this is my current favourite scent! the gorgeousss bottle is what drew me to it, which feels and looks expensive. to me, the scent opens with a really juicy citrus, then the floral notes come in a little, and then it dries down to a powdery vanilla smell. overall its really sweet, i wouldn't say its a typical gourmand but it also doesn't fall into the floral or fruity categories either, it's a mix of all three! as someone who doesn't typically like florals, i don't mind those notes at all in this. it's super feminine and pretty, best for a young adult i'd say. it smells expensive and unique, after smelling for the first time i knew i had to buy it! <3 the only odd thing about it for me is a really faint body odour scent when smelling from the bottle!? i think it could be the jasmine, but when sprayed it's unnoticeable so it doesn't bother me much.

This is a lemon meringue that manages to be pretty and ladylike like most of Tocca’s fragrances. It starts its journey as bright and a little tart, but a wearable gourmand which is perhaps why it’s a disappointment to some; it’s not as sweet as people were probably expecting. I agree with FallonAngel’s description of its prettiness and how it feels. I’d like to add that the desert rain accord is quite refreshing, and with it the florals and wood balance everything out. On the deep dry down, the tartness goes away and it’s soft and delicately sweet. I think this is perfect for daily wear and is not as “young” as a lot of gourmands can feel. It’s quite lovely and, to me, almost addictive.

This is a beautiful and fresh fragrance. It’s feminine with an edge of masculinity. The opening reminds me a lot of Prada Paradoxe, but with citrus instead of florals. Later on in the drydown, I smell rain, jasmine, bergamot, and woods, and I would describe that as a fresh floral smell. It is so unique and interesting. The longevity is great on skin, I haven’t tested it on clothes. This perfume is sexy without trying too hard.

I just received this fragrance and am honestly shocked at how much I love it (especially as a citrus hater). It has a fairly strong citrus opening and then the amber, vanilla and nectar are present in the dry down. It smells like a really light, fresh citrus pastry. It is not heavy at all and is a lovely summer/spring scent!

Oh, this is a good one! This perfume was not on my radar, but it came in a sampler set from Ulta. I'm really loving the cardamom and the ambery dry down. Luxurious without being overwhelming. This is going on my list of scents I want a full-size bottle of.

Absolutely amazing for springtime. Fresh and slightly floral that gives way to vanilla/musk scents. Lasts a long time while still smelling great. Very feminine and overall beautiful scent.

A beautiful fresh and tart lemon meringue scent, with a fizzy powdery finish that really sits in your nose. Really festive and sparkling to me.

I got a sample of this is my October Allure Beauty Box. I’ll be honest, I’ve tried a ton of Tocca scents over the years and am typically not a huge fan of the house because everything seems to popp disappear from my skin the matter of an hour. I was absolutely shocked when I could still smell this on my wrist 8 hours latter. It does sit very close to the skin but that’s alright with me. Looking at the notes I wasn’t expecting to like this because I thought it may be too sweet for me. I don’t like gourmands but I wouldn’t call this a typical gourmand. It’s not a typical citrus or floral either though. The notes seem to blend together to create something extremely versatile that can easily be worn year round, day or night.

Just wore 2 sprays overnight. It's not a good sleeping scent, but it is beautiful. I rarely have a problem with longevity, probably my sensitive nose. This morning , though , the green mandarin is just lingering like crazy. Little bitter but I like it.

I purchased a travel size of this scent directly from Tocca, and I was underwhelmed. I don’t understand why brands advertise scents as gourmand when they aren’t. Laila isn’t sweet, it’s more spicy. This is a watered down version of the new rare beauty perfume. The exact same scent profile, the one difference is this sits close to the skin. If you like to wear perfume that nobody can smell unless they literally put their nostrils on your skin, then this is the one for you. I am not the typical fragrantica reviewer who rips apart every fragrance, but this isn’t it. And a huge part of why it was a disappointment was the misleading advertisement.

These false advertisement prodigies feel illegal at this point. Why is there cake & cream when this is very zesty and citrusy? There’s nothing wrong with the scent but it’s hard not to be disappointed when you’re expecting something very different.

Initially liked, but gave me a headache so bad I was scrubbing it off two hours after applying it. My original notes: classy without being old or dated. Didn’t get any desert rain accord.

I hated the top notes when I first put this on. SUPER sweet, but then strange when fading. (Pine needle smell?) I could barely smell it 5 minutes later.

Sharp citrus, jasmine, and lily of the valley is all i get with this. There is nothing warm or gourmand about it. I can’t get myself to test on skin because i really detest what im getting on a test strip, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but yeah this was a hard pass for me

I love this perfume so much, on initial spray it’s very citrusy and floral, but not in an overwhelming way. Then it dries down to a subtle sweet scent. I need to buy a travel and the 100mL asap!!

I detest jasmine, so whenever I see it as a note I know I’ll be hard-pressed to love it: it’s a question of whether it’s a jasmine scent I can tolerate (tamarindo) or I can’t (solar aura). I got this as a sample from the allure october beauty box, and it’s pretty middle-of-the-road for me. There’s jasmine in it, so it will never be a love, but for a white floral it’s not terrible. I definitely don’t get any desert rain accord. It does smell vaguely dessert-y, in a sugary lemon-merengue kind of way. Gourmand lovers probably won’t fall head over heels for this as it’s more floral than food-like, but if you’ve ever had a pistachio-rosewater dessert it could fall in to that category: edible while also being very fragrant and floral. This would make a nice laundry detergent. It smells clean without being a “freshie.” The jasmine/white florals come out louder and louder in the drydown, so this will go in my giveaway pile, but surprisingly I don’t hate it! Heart of jasmine, nicely done.

At first I didn't understand Laila... I was expecting a true gourmand, so I initially felt pretty disappointed. That being said, I gave her a real wear test and was swept away! The opening reminds me of Johnson's baby shampoo, but in the most pleasant and nostalgic way... very lightly lemony fresh and airy. As it dries down, a slightly toasty sweetness warms your skin. The lily of the valley weaves it all together, lingering the longest. What else can I say? Laila is a "flormand" and really surprised me in the best way. The scene in the ad where the bottle is lying on a dessert surrounded by flower petals? I totally get the marketing now! I plan on buying a full bottle.

I like it. It starts off really similar to Bella from Vince Camuto. As it dries down, it smells like Blackberry and Basil from Bath & Body Works. Very fruity and fresh. If I put my nose very close to my arm, I can smell a whisper of vanilla. I think it might be really nice in spring and early summer

This is really pretty. It’s giving me a similar vibe as Olympea, Divine and Alien Eau Extraordinaire. If you like those, you’ll probably like this. I’m a fan, but the opening is better than the dry down. Laila is a joyful citrus white floral vanilla. I love the name too!

I'm excited to try this one. I've loved most Tocca fragrances so far.
