Margaux

At work I use the name of Margo; so, when I saw the Tocca Margaux, I decided to buy it and use it since it was 'my name". Before I paid out the $68 for a bottle of it at Sephora, I did read about the notes and knew it was one that I would like....flowers with woods. No fruity stuff! This is a lovely scent to wear to work, never overpowering or offensive. Just so pleasant and pretty and warm. A few years ago I bought Tocca Cleopatra and it was nice...got the bubble bath too. But I was not thrilled with it...rather blagh to me, but my daughter loved it and took it and was happy with it. The only drawback to the Tocca fragrances: they do not last very long! Daughter says she thinks it disappears before she can even walk out of the house! I wore it to work today and it was pretty much gone after 5 hours. As soon as I got home, I sprayed some on again and fell in love once more. Margaux by Tocca is a lovely fragrance but it will need reapplying after about 4 hours. Happy with my purchase.

This perfume uniquely translates a spring/summer gardenia vibe into a beautiful fall/winter fragrance. When I first put it on, I notice the musk and wood more than anything else. Then I get a nice vanilla note for a while, followed by a soft, muted gardenia that smells like it is being baked into some kind of delicious winter pastry. The citrus--particularly the blood orange--comes out at the end with a nice zing to it. It's very "vanilla-floral" but with the complication (in a good way) of the additional wood, musk and citrus notes. It has really nice sillage (moderate) and longevity (moderate to long-lasting). I happen to love Tocca Florence (strong summer gardenia) and find this to be a perfect signature scent adjustment for colder weather. I switch back and forth between the two, carrying the gardenia and floral notes all year but with appropriately complementary supporting notes.

I can't say I dislike any of the Tocca's, in fact I think they're all gorgeous for the most part, but many are very fleeting on my skin. This one though, has everything I could ever want - musk, vanilla, and some nice florals floating in the background. At first sniff, the musk and gardenia can be a bit overwhelming...but give it a few minutes and I promise, it turns into something gorgeous. This also has the longevity and sillage I've been looking for. The best Tocca in my humble opinion; very unique and not your typical overly sweet, synthetic vanilla. In fact, I am a vanilla lover but sometimes vanilla can take an odd turn on my skin. I love to see a vanilla that isn't surrounded by too many other sweets or a bunch of fruits. This is beautifully blended and a wonderful addition to the Tocca line.

This is the first Tocca fragrance I've sampled that I plan to own a bottle of. Not that the others aren't nice, because they definitely are; but not all 'nice' smelling fragrances are ones that I would buy. This has all the right notes that make me continue sniffing myself time and time again. I love musk and vanilla, and this fragrance doesn't disappoint. I put this on and instantly I get that musky floral scent that really does it for me and it mellows out into this fantastic woodsy vanilla scent. So far this is my absolute favorite Tocca scent. I didn't expect to love it, but I do. For me it's a definite buy. The fragrance also lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin which is awesome because for some reason a lot of fragrances don't have long life spans on my skin.

Evoked Patchouli & Warm Amber... I just have an aged sample of this. This is definitely deeper & warmer than other scents from Tocca I've smelt. There's an illusion of a deeper, sweeter patchouli here. I get a softness from the musk & cashmere woods, warmth from the benzoin and a coolness from the violet over top. The touch of cassis combined with warm amber & woods sparks the illusion of patchouli here for me. Too bad it's discontinued as it's beautifully blended, although there are other warm patchouli-amber scents along these lines (Pachuli Kozha Nishane, Tuxedo YSL, Moustache EDP Rochas...). For what it is, it's a love for me. Enjoy!
