Violette

Love Violette- starts out tart and citrusy with my body chemistry. The dry down seems to take a little time but then you get lots of floral and I think it is not overwhelmingly powdery(like Kenzo for example). I don't mind powdery. This is one of those simple but elusive scents where now you small it, now you don't and then it hits you again. I've had numerous people walk up to me and ask what scent I'm wearing. Not to compare but I really like the Ed Hardy line and Marc Jacobs fragrances. This isn't nearly so flowery and seems more sophisticated but light. I get headaches from some perfumes that are too --? musky or something and so far no problem there with this. I'd take the leap and try it out. Everyone's body chemistry is different- i.e. D&G Blue smells heavenly on my sister but I smell like a hospital ward if I wear it... so, give it a try and if Violette is not for you, Tocca makes many other scents which might work for you.

This perfume is so tricky to rate. I absolutely love the smell of it. I can distinguish: -fresh clean bergamot -a bit of spiciness, but not a spiciness from spices. It's like smell a flower that has a bit of a spicy fragrance -sweet violets -black currant Sounds amazing right? But the thing is, it doesn't have any silage on me. ZERO. It's not that it fades or anything, if I put my nose to my wrist I can still smell it sitting there. This is truly, and literally, a skin scent. Really, when I say the silage is nil I mean it. It's weaker than even a cheap body spray. I could part with maybe $20 to just enjoy it personally at home, but not the $68 price tag. I'm all for skin scents but literally nose has to be to wrist to catch a whiff, and I can't be sniffing my wrist constantly in public just to enjoy my scent... unless I want to look like a weirdo... hah.

I was lucky to score a 50ml bottle of this beauty for £15 from TKMaxx, and went back to buy a second bottle. It's so beautiful. It is very long lasting on me, which is unusual. I get approx 8 hours from it. For me , Violet is the perfect winter floral, and Tocca Violette has the perfect combination of Violet, musk and cedar, 3 of my favourite notes. This is an inoffensive office perfume, perfect for daytime, but also gentle and glamorous for an evening out. I just wear it whenever it takes my fancy, which to be honest is pretty often. This is a love for me, and I already have a back-up bottle.

In my opinion, Violets are the perfect cold weather florals! I absolutely love the scent of them, & Tocca Violette is no exception. It is more green and earthy, but doesn't loses its sweet edge. The coriander really stands out in this, which keeps it grounded & interesting. . .Really beautiful Winter Floral!

So light and fresh and clean, I love this. It lasts most of the day on me, though it dwindles to a subtle scent very quickly - wish the lovely violet scent would hang around a bit longer. (Though that makes it good for days when I'd like a bit of a floral scent but nothing overpowering...)

This reminds me of my favorite thing about Eau So Fresh: the lingering sweetness that I get in the rollerball form. This is a lovely, sweet perfume that has left me smelling my wrist all day long. The sillage is pretty soft, but it's lasting for a long time on me. Love this perfume.

I've been on a violet kick and really like the fresh, light violet of Violette. Not a man-magnet but a pretty scent that's enjoyable all day. Perfect for work. Violette is a lovely little bit of vintage. Makes me feel timeless when I wear it.

The nicest fragrances always get discontinued. Why?????

I have developed a bit of a perfume obsession over the last year and my long distance boyfriend surprised me with a bottle of this in the mail about a week ago. I was a little afraid at first since this is the first perfume he has picked out himself for me, but it turned out I worried for nothing because this perfume is nice and pretty, and at the very worst you have yourself an inoffensive perfume in a very pretty bottle. Violette to my nose is a sweeter floral, but also distinctively spicy (my nose definitely detects ginger/coriander). Sillage is low and the scent is inoffensive, so it is perfectly good for work. I like it best when the day is hot, because I feel I can smell the flowers develop a little better in the heat. Overall, it does smell very Spring and Romantic. My main qualm is with how light it is and it does not seem to have too much lasting power. However, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous and the box it came in is also very beautiful. My boyfriend told me later on, "I figured if you didn't like the scent you would be happy with the bottle in your collection." :)

I own Stella and adore it, so I decided to try Violette and Brigitte on a recent visit to a favourite shop. I sprayed Violette on one wrist and Brigitte on the other. Both smelled delicious, with the top notes and I was going to have a hard time deciding. I walked around the store sniffing my wrists and loving them both. About 15 minutes later, Violette was simply gone...only a trace of powder trail was left. Poof. Brigette was still going strong. So, I followed my 24 hour rule to think and test before purchase and brought home two small samples. Later that afternoon I sprayed each wrist again. Again the same result. As pretty as Violette smells, it is too pricey for a "body spray" result. Brigette is wonderful also, but lasts only a couple of hours on me. I am sad because I read that Bianca and Giulietta are even less lasting. Tocca really makes some gorgeous scents. I may try a solid scent for a smaller investment to see if lasts longer and definitely stick with Stella. Violette has a lovely vintage feel, it is worth taking for a spin, just see how it lasts on you.

I love violets and this is a very pretty interpretation of a violet. This scent has been playing peek a boo on my skin for the last 4 hours. At times I only smell musk, a bit later there is a soft sweet violet, a bit later the black currant seems to pop its head out. We just keep playing this dance. It does have a bit of a zing from the coriander and/or ginger but this is not spicy. It just lends a bit of a "zing" for lack of a better word. I have really enjoyed wearing this scent. Others are right the silage is very low. This is definitely more of a skin scent. The longevity has been ok...4-5 hours. I'm seriously considering purchasing a full bottle even though I usually prefer something that projects a bit more just because this is so light and pretty. I also love Tocca bottles and their packaging!!! I'm a sucker for a pretty box and a bottle!!!

The first time I put this perfume on, I loved it but I was surprised because the smell was very familiar. I couldn't place it though and I did like it, so I bought a bottle. Wasn't until a few days later that I was able to make the connection. On me this is almost a softer, more elegant version of Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau so Fresh, which I also own. Not identical, but close! Regardless, it's a great fragrance that I find myself going to a lot in the spring. I don't find that violet is a very prominent note until it really dries down but then it doesn't last very long. If you are looking for a strong violet fragrance with lasting power this probably isn't it.

omg im in love. it smells so nice. i get all violet, musk, currant, and then musk. however i can only smell it if i put my nose up to my wrist. it may be a little too girly for me, but it is really nice. my husband says it smells like a bath and body works spray. i think if you like fragrances but dont want to be bold or work in an office with people who are sensitive to heady perfumes then this is perfect. a quiet and unobtrusive scent. soft and feminine. i imagine a woman in her 30s taking her children on a nature walk wearing this. exploring flowers, bird watching, and enjoying a sunny spring day.

A youthful cousin of Love in Black and Insolence EDP. Violette is less powdery, subtler, brighter. A lovely, sunny, fruity and musky violet. I love it, and that's saying a lot considering that I normally go for the heavier orientals. Silage is soft to moderate, longevity at least 8 hours on my skin, though by the end the scent has faded to a sweet musk with little to no trail. For a spring or summer day, a museum trip, an afternoon reading at the local coffee house, or a lovely picnic, this can't be beat. Pleasant, happy, and delicate. Thumbs up!

I like it, also because it doesn't remind me of another. Unfortunately last very little. I probably keep the beautiful bottle, good paper weight or "book ends" since I have also Graciella...perhaps next time I'll try to mix them together. I also like that the name describe the stongest note and it's cleaver because it's a girl name. That's the theme of this line :) Price is ok because I've got it cheap, bottle is substantial, longevity for a violette aromatic is very poor

This was my first experience with a Tocca EDP. I should not have worn it following a day with the reknown and complex Mikousa. Tocca Violette, for me, was a light, simple and delicate pretty much nondescript Spring floral.. I will wear it when I need a nice, light, non-offensive dab of something to wear on a hot day. But when my .5 ounces is finished, I shall not repurchase.

Tocca Violette is a fresh, unpretentious and feminine scent. The violet is light, clean and is always the main star. It gives the idea of spring, sort of like a carefree day. It's a casual fragrance, but not in a mundane way. More like a natural scent, as if you carry a violet bouquet and the scent impregnates your clothes. A beautiful scent if you like violets.

Sweet candied violets with a squeeze of lemon. A very delicate, girly scent. Whereby it is sweet, it maintains a fresh powderiness throughout which keeps the fragrance from being cloying. Perfect for casual, daily wear. But, the longevity with my chemistry is slight, I wish this gem lingered longer. . .

When I wear this fragrance I can imagine myself going for a walk in the woods picking violets. The perfect scent for summer and nature walks.

I like all kinds of violet scents, so I was glad to test this one, but it didn't turn out to be a particular favourite, although I do like it. From the bottle it smells like violet candies in the best way, which is promising, but on my skin this aspect comes out less than I would like. I think I mostly like my violet scents to be focused on the main note, or at least for it to be the most dominant note, and that's not the case here. The violet is there, and it's very nice, but it's almost hidden by other notes that I just don't like as much, even though I don't mind them either. For instance, in the opening there's a strong ginger note alongside the violet, and some pepper and bergamot - and against all expectations I rather like the combination, but I wish the violet aspect would be less weak. So although I have nothing against this Violette, I guess I'm damning it by faint praise: I like it, but not enough to want more.
