And Soul No. 01

I recently received this in the Margot Elena quarterly subscription box (it’s a great box, IMO). At first spray, it reminds me somewhat of Philosophy’s Amazing Grace (which I really like except its sillage is negative if that’s possible, and longevity even worse). Not exactly the same, but there’s some note that’s familiar. To me, This TM scent is very delicate, lovely, and almost watery. It’s light and lovely. Like other reviewers, I had almost zero sillage with this, no matter how many sprays I used. But I did get a surprising longevity out of it, as in 12+ hours (though only as a skin scent). Not sure if this makes a difference, but I had an unscented moisture balm on my skin before I sprayed it, so maybe that helped the longevity? Anyhow, pretty scent, pretty bottle, but pretty much a skin scent only.

This smells very clean on me, and is one of my favorite fragrances, especially for warmer weather! Though the sillage is perhaps the worst of any perfume I own, I find the longevity is better than expected (but still not great). I put a bit in the crook of my elbow and could still detect it 4 hours later, which surprised me. It dries down slightly muskier than when first applied, but overall there is not a huge shift, and the musk itself is not heavy whatsoever. Because of the musk, this smells like a person who has just come out of the shower after using a very nice soap, rather than smelling like the soap itself. If you find soapy scents to be a bit too sharp, maybe give this one a try!

This is my all time favourite. Sure, it doesn't last long and has no sillage. But it just makes me feel great when i apply it. Gone through 2 bottles. I have an almost full bottle left. I'm so sad because i can not find it anywhere in the UK now. I think i will just be buried with my last bottle. Smell is very fresh but soft. Like a warm day, when spring blends into summer, and you feel the sun shine on your face. I can't explain it. Musky and clean, with the bamboo, orchid and oolong tea.

The musk and bamboo interplay perfectly. After a while, the oolong tea becomes prominent, adding an additional note of warmth. Put on a few spritzes and it is like walking in a soft warm cloud. Subtle, not too complicated and definitely unique. Tokyo Milk's philosophy is definitely less is more. Not too many notes or accords; it's like Punk or a perfect slice of pie at the local diner, keep it simple and authentic and you make it memorable.

I have the hand cream and im in love. It works really well as a moisturizer scent. Honestly, I think all margot Elena products should only be bought as moisturizers and bath products. They are majorly lacking as perfume due to poor performance. This scent really captures the vibe its going for. Light and airy. Like a sheet an angel would use as a toga as it descends from heaven

The lightest and airiest fragrance I own. As already said sillage is weak and longevity almost non existant but i still really enjoy wearing this. The tea note is gorgeous and the musk does a great job of balancing the air, Oolong tea and bamboo and orchid notes. Airy freshness with just a hint of white flower. Great perfume for a day sitting by a sunny window reading.

i believe in the power of margot elena. every single one of their scents hits it out of the park for me (they all have this distinct floral musk that i love?), but this one has a special place in my heart. i consider it an ol' reliable.

And Soul is an incredibly fresh, airy fragrance. It makes think of sunshine on a breezy day. There is almost a salt note. Just a lovely, light, fresh fragrance.

The initial burst of scent from this on me is quite unique, a "hot" scent, almost like what I imagine the sun would smell like. It's ozonic and brash, with a hint of sweet and spicy musk, in a way I find energizing and captivating. This initial half hour has the best sillage as well, wafting around me in a trail of summertime tea. Then it mellows out - the bamboo coming forward - into a mouth-watering creamy scent that comes off more like a gourmand perfume would. The sillage lessens, and the perfume sits close to the skin as a "personal perfume" - which suits me fine, I where perfume for myself and not to give those around me headaches. Normally I'm not a fan of musk, but this is a "white musk" or synthetic, and so it doesn't interact with my skin in the same way. (Natural musks tend to become dominant on my skin, in an unpleasant wet fur sort of way.) Here, it stays in the background and "smooths" the scent together. By evening (the sillage may be poor, but this lasts ~12 hours!) the scent has grown a bit fainter and "girlier" - a flirty floral, with the orchid noticeable now. While this is not among my top favorites, I do like it a lot - and it lives up to it's claim of being a "unique" scent.

Honeysuckle and white linen set out on a clothesline to dry out in the sun on a spring day. This is a very lightweight, ozonic and airy perfume. Innocent, pure and uplifting. Something cherubim baby would wear. It reminds me of Le Labo's Another 13 in the sense that you barely smell anything but it's there. Not sure if anyone else would be able to smell this on you. Smell: 7 out of 10 Longevity: 3 out of 10 Feminine

It's watery, airy, and sunny at the same time, like the vapor created by water evaporating with the sun, it has a transparency to it, if the soul had a scent, this would be it, it stays very close and is short lasting, this is something you wear for you.

And Soul definitively has an Asian vibe. I am not familiar with bamboo note in general, but I think it add a little sweetness to the tea. I did not get the musk at all. If you like discreet scent and soft aquatic you should like this one.

Tokyo milk is so unique. This is another interesting and original scent. Notes on the bottle - oolong tea - bamboo reed - orchid & air - white musk All blend well however it has a downside. The staying power is very weak.

If "ozonic" means this perfume smells like air, I agree. It just smells light and clean, I cannot distinguish any "notes" beyond freshness. I enjoy it for the 30 min it lasts.

Yes, it's light. Yes, it's airy. Yes, it's fresh and uplifting. Yet, somehow, it nauseates me. Maybe it just clashes with my chemistry, but it's one of the only TM scents I have intensely disliked. It reminds me of some overpowering carpet-freshening powder I used years ago. I will not revisit this one.

Notes: Oolong tea, Bamboo Reed, Orchid & Air, White Musk I agree with LisaLovesPerfume, it's definitely fresh and airy (like all the ones in the Light line of Tokyo Milk). I am not sure how Margot Elena did it, but this fragrance has a STRONG bamboo note throughout (not to say the fragrance is strong, just that the bamboo within it always clearly present). This is strange considering bamboo doesn't have much smell to it at all. I'd say the bamboo works well with the tea and orchid notes. I'm not sure I could really smell the musk. I have no idea what "air" is supposed to be in a literal sense. I wouldn't blind buy this one because I'd say you really need to enjoy the smell of bamboo. If you don't, it's definitely not for you. Overall pleasant fragrance though.

A pleasant little scent. It hovers just above the skin and doesn't make a fuss. The opening is a delightful floral tea affair, slightly bitter but also sweet. As it fades, it turns into a gentle, soapy skin scent. I'm afraid to say I enjoy the bottle more than the scent on this one, but that's just personal taste. If you are looking for an airy companion of a fragrance, this may be your new love.

To me, this scent is really calming and very laid back. Perfect for smelling good in a subtle way. Only those close to you will smell this in my experience. It's a great tea fragrance and is very well balanced with the musk and bamboo notes. I would buy this again :)

Totally agree on sillage and longevity, but a unique and beautiful fragrance while it lasts. It's great to just get that opening whiff while you are getting dressed or as you spritz again during the day. And, yes, MargotElena subscription is THE BEST!!

I am enjoying how it smells like running through a sunny rain shower - the airiness of slightly wet and windy air outside. A very uplifting reminder of Spring on this cold, quiet day.
