Destiny No 79

This is virtually impossible to find nowadays, so if you stumble upon it, consider yourself very lucky indeed. I remember this scent so vividly, and this line only came in rollerball sizes in a very giftable and tasteful clear glass vial with a ceramic base. You can't even get presentation this nice from niche houses most of the time. I picked up a half-full rollerball on clearance at Marshalls for $5 about 10 years ago and still miss it dearly as I haven't smelled anything like it. It was a very juicy and transparent dewy honeysuckle with a strong kick of zesty ginger, a hell of a lot of jasmine and an herbal and bitter 'mixed drink' feel thanks to wormwood/davana. The ginger here was very dewy and easy to like, and the jasmine was surprisingly sweet, refreshing and doesn't have a soapy or indole feeling whatsoever. I've never smelled anything like it and it smelled like an insanely invigorating and potent ginger cocktail without the sharp alcohol smell. If you're a ginger lover, or love a very bold and unconventional take on a fresh floral scents, it's an absolute must try... if you can manage to find it anywhere at all... and if you can I'm in the market for one too!

Lovely, unique and a bit quirky, this honeysuckle-forward fragrance gets new life thanks to the addition of the invigorating, kicky ginger note. I'm on bottle number three of this, which is rare for me, as I've been on a lifelong search for the perfect honeysuckle and rarely find a keeper. Not a soliflore by any means, as the honeysuckle and ginger share top-billing, with jasmine in a strong supporting role. I don't detect rose and I'm not sure I'd recognize artemisia, but it could be the slight bitterness that I've attributed to the ginger. The honeysuckle aspect is equally green and floral, the ginger is freshly sliced and the jasmine is lovely and fresh with no detectable indole (thank gawd!). All three main players introduce themselves immediately upon application, staying fairly linear throughout the wear - Destiny No 79 maintains its initial vim and vigor, never settling into the usual generic softness of so many florals. I can't say that I've encountered any other fragrances like this, certainly nothing close to a dupe, so if you're in search of a distinctive-but-still-pretty white floral, you may want to check this one out.

I had to warm up to the soapy note in this, but once I did, I've enjoyed it as a very reliably lovely option for work, everyday, or a casual al-fresco meal. The ginger is a sharp bite; balanced by the sweet roundness of the honeysuckle and the aforementioned soapy note, which is reminiscent of luxury hotel bath products as opposed to, like, Irish Spring. Nothing like my favorite ginger scent, Roger & Gallet Gingembre (which probably accounted for my initial "meh" feeling) but interesting and very wearable in its own right.

a heavy dose of honeysuckle and jasmine... that's what you're getting here. i bought it because i wanted a scent that reminded me of warm california summer evenings when the night blooming jasmine fills the air. i loved it for about a month and then had to put it away due to its intensity and an aversion i developed to its strength. destiny is a pure white floral madness, roll on with discretion, tis quite potent. ;-)

I loved it. My husband didn't. Until I put it on and it just mixed with my body chemistry amazingly. If you're the type that doesn't do well with sweet fruity scents but mixes with woodsy ones this works without actually being woodsy.

I liked the smell of this when I sniffed the bottle so I bought for cheap at tjmaxx but getting home and applying on the skin it turned out to be almost a bummber. I like tokyomilk because I think their perfumes always smell so natural and this one smells like cleaning products, kind of the fake synthetic degertent smell.... When it sits for a little bit and warms up on the skin the flowers come to play and gets a little better but overall not my favorite from the brand.

The white floral combined with ginger makes for a very "fresh!!" feeling. It also somehow gives a grassy green and simultaneously creamy impression. I liked this one, but it's too brief and soft on the skin for my preference, unfortunately. I asked a male friend to take a sniff and give his opinion, and he said, "I feel like a cow just went 'MOOO-WAH!' and gave me a big kiss! Gross!" I suppose that's because of the grassy/creamy/milky scent this has... strange. LOL

This ginger is a non-spicy, almost airy ginger taken from a vintage sweet, dashed into a floral tisane. It's like I've woken up with the ache of an empty, hungry stomach in a first-floor flat that isn't mine and my host has made me a hot ginger drink, but they added a sweetener I don't recognise. The whole moment is something I don't recognise, as though I've washed in soap and scrubbed my teeth with brands I've never tried. A distinct feeling of other-people's-houses-are-different. The honeysuckle is strong and fresh but why would anyone fill their breakfast table vase with so much honeysuckle? This scent takes me out of my comfort zone. It's definitely for a woman who loves vintage cleanliness aggressively. I would never wear it for a date or to work, there's something uptight about its insistent airy ginger-tisane-floralness that doesn't gel with me. Still, I sometimes wear it by myself or out and about to feel like a guest in my own clothes.

what. the. hell???!?! This is so horrible it makes me so nauseous!

I don`t know if the notes are mislabeled but for my nose it is a tuberose/cardamom hybrid. I mean, Indian sweets cardamom.Ginger is giving it an oddly fresh and just barely audible accord that seems out of place and jerks you around. I do not smell any rose at all.No rose at all. Lost in translation. After this being said, I love it. It is very sinister and edgy. I understand the dislike of some reviewers, and my first impression was not very favorable.I thought it a bit too much. However, it has a sweet cardamom that I was looking for my whole life and my boyfriend adores it. Too bad it is only sold in such tiny bottles. You have a choice of 10 or 5 ml. Come on, Tokyo Milk, be generous!!!!!

I stumbled on this in TJ Maxx and loved it at first sniff--lots of honeysuckle with jasmine rounding things out and ginger adding some spiciness. Unfortunately once I got it home all I could smell was the ginger! I'm not sure where the lovely honeysuckle went, but I seldom wear this as the ginger is almost overpowering.

Goes on fresh and nicely spikey ginger, but dries down with a sort of mildew edge that ginger can get as it's going off. The other notes weren't identifiable, but present as a nicely blended base to the ginger. Overall disappointing and I wouldn't wear this.

Nice if you like ginger I guess.
