Garden State 100

101 is sweet and mossy while 102 is tart and warm. both smell unbelievably sensual and can each stand on their own as gorgeous, earthy colognes that last about 6 hours on the wrist. 103 is straight up potting soil and cedar, perfectly captured in a vile which i use to dirty up sweeter scents i have, so that i can tolerate them on my skin. these vials (two of each, so six total) come in an adorable slide out box and price around $18. although it would seem these simply named tiny spays contain nothing complex, you'd be utterly surprised at the tangle of other notes that will surface upon drydown. i am a die-hard fan of "nose" Elena Margot. she is a straight up genius when it comes to creating fragrances that smell expensive, are packaged delightfully and never disappoint to make me smile upon first inhalation.

I live for 103! What an usual scent, it smells of Cedar and turned earth in a way that no other perfume is reminiscent. It’s definitely Herby and quite a quirky sent but I feel like it’s my signature. Very arty and unique.

I bought this on a clearance sale whim for $8 because none of the scents are anything I'd really buy individually. 101 is straight patchouli - fine, but a bit boring; 102 is spicy and fresh; 103 is damp earth, but not in a pleasant way. 101+102 combination is interesting and warm. 102+103 is surprisingly nice, too - the earthy smell gives depth to the sharp lemongrass. Finally, on the recommendation of another reviewer, I tried mixing 103 with a few of my other, lighter scents - wow! With fruity scents it smells a bit rotten, and with straight florals it's also a bit odd - like you're smelling a wet garden - but it really makes sweet gourmands and musky scents amazingly more interesting. I will be using this to personalize some fragrances for sure.

101 can stand alone. I mix 102 & 103. 103 has, to my nose, an unpleasant smell alone, kind of like dirt that has come into contact with dog urine. A unique idea, but will disappear within a few minutes no matter which combination I chose.
