Modern Love 104

I love these "floriental" fragrances. I received them as a gift last year. Most perfumes dry down very sweetly on me, and I wish these were more powerful and longer lasting, but the smell is quite uplifting and feminine. I always enjoy wearing them. I typically layer the Honeyed Rose and White Tea, Jasmine together during the work day.

I must say, I'm finding that I'm just a fan of Margot Elena. I don't like all her scents, but the ones I do enjoy are so lovely. She does soft, sensual, and pretty VERY well, and these mixing fragrances are no exception. I'm a fan of Linden, and I get a strong dominant Linden note from the middle number. I like to wear that one on its own or with the Jasmine and White Tea. The honeyed rose and mandarin is also quite pretty on its own. I will comment that the Jasmine and White Tea has a strange and somewhat gross scent in the bottle, but on the skin, it dries down to a gentle and almost coconut creme with some jasmine. It ends up being clean and soothing and creamy. However, without re-sprays, it kind of gets a little spoiled smelling or something. Perhaps I've got an older set because I did pick this little trio up at Marshall's for 8 dollars. In any case, I'm really fond of this scent sampler, and it is indeed a romantic set. I think of wildflowers and garden terraces and bright fluffy clouds in blue, blue skies when I spray these. Plus, they don't smell like everything else on the market, which is a huge plus. Unique and charming and sweet. I would like a bit more Sillage and longevity, but I'm not one who minds frequent re-sprays. In fact, I kind of like when I get to "refresh". Maybe I'm weird.

These are quality floral and floral fruity fragrances meant for layering with each other. All three of the Modern Love scents smell really great and the packaging is awesome. Linden blossom/loquat is fresh smelling and a little tart and green but gentle, not sharp. It has an outdoorsy vibe and is unique. Honeyed rose is sweet at first then fades to a soft rose skin scent, so not special but still lovely. White tea/jasmine is a clean jasmine with a fizzy tea note. I really enjoy all three on their own and layered together differently. However the longevity isn't that great, but not a big deal since they are minis you can carry easily and mix and match all day. Fun little sets if you're looking to experiment, the sun kissed one is worth picking up if you see it too.

Tokyomilk released a series of Mix n' Match "Parfum Vials de Alchemy" this one is like the others in that it contains 3 capped sprays for you to make your own along with a little nifty "fragrance pairings" of suggestions. No.106 is Linden Blossom/Japanese Loquat which to me starts off as very green flowers and the dry down is a sweet scent (loquat?). No.107 is Mandarin/Honeyed Rose and initially is candied orange peels but as it dries there is a bit of powdery rose in it. Odd that the honey played in with the oranges and not with the roses. No.105 has a very bitter opening. The jasmine sinks in soon after it begins to dry but it smells a bit of honeysuckle somehow. Layering all of them on makes for a bouquet of white flowers, honey and a hint of green. All on their own they stand well except for lacking a bit on longevity. But overall...me likey.
