Song of the Siren (No. 49)

This one basically smells like a watermelon complete with green rind in the salty sea air. I like it! It has rose, some greeness and a marine note. Combined, these create the watermelon + sea effect. The name is very befitting. I can totally picture a mermaid or siren smelling like this. Not sure if everyone would like this one. It's very unique. However I'm enjoying it. Leans feminine. Smell: 9 out of 10 Longevity: 5 out of 10 For reference, I'm female.

Wet--green--salty roses--I love it! Pure mermaid romance! A number of people in the thread have said they can't really pick up the rose note--but it's really dominant on me. This is the most distinctive and long lasting of the 3 Neptune and the Mermaid scents for me and probably my favorite!

This fragrance turned out to be exactly what I had been looking for--a beach rose. It is very aquatic, but over time the rosewater comes through. It is a simple scent, but one that I will definitely wear on vacation and not tire of.

so. so. intoxicating. this perfume makes me feel like a sultry siren. incredibly unique and mysterious while still being feminine.

I like this green rosy scent, very pretty, but my least favorite of the 3 in the collection. The initial spray is great, but I’m less impressed with the drydown. Best for warmer months, this is a hard one to pull off in winter, and it’s late fall right now and while pretty, I can’t see wearing this out like the other 2 right now. Little too chyrpry for colder seasons, and it’s silliage and longevity are greater than the other 2. It will be nice in summer, I suppose. Also, it’s the heavier of the 3, so spray sparingly.

Smells like rose water mixed with salty ocean breeze. It’s like you are taking a bath with rose water and rose petals but the bathtub is located at the beach? Surrounded by salty air. It’s not a bad scent at all, reminds me of summer, it’s light and strange yet familiar. It would pair well with a fruity scent to balance out the sharpness of the smell.

I bought it for $14.99 at Marshalls. I like that it is unusual, and I see how this smells like a mermaid 🧜♀️ interesting. Salty Watermelon? A bit loud but smells good if you don't put your nose right on it. Happy because of the price, cute flacon and different scent than what I already have.

Rose water, dry rose petals floating on fresh water. it has an aromatic/fresh aspect that makes you feel confortable and at a Spa. Good for the price got it at a discounter store for $24.00

I picked up a sample of this because of the comparisons to Rose Atlantic, which is one of my favourites but doesn't last very long on me. I was a little disappointed as all I can smell is laundry detergent / toilet air freshener. It's a very harsh soapy smell too, so doesn't quite make it as a clean laundry scent for me. It was also very sharp when first sprayed and the dry down doesn't quite take that edge off. I'm not picking up any of the floral or aromatic notes in this at all. There's a hint of salt but it's hard to pick out unless you're searching for it. Edit to add: when I finally broke and scrubbed it off I was left with a faint but sharp rose scent very close to the skin. It's a shame that this didn't really come through for me at all.

Went out of my comfort zone with this, not surprisingly I have mixed feelings about it. This is a very punchy fresh, green, and aquatic scent. It would be clean enough for office wear but has a surprising amount of silage. It smells like those watercolor painting with (white) wine classes, or going on a relaxing suburbanite vacation, water and perfectly manicured grass, just the tiniest bit of high-end vodka. If you hadn't pointed out the rose note, I wouldn't have placed it at first. Ultimately I don't like it much. Something about it is too sharp.

I agree with the review below mine, that it is aquatic with a sense of cut grass smell but I also sense some sort of melon. Unfortunately both of those things I don’t enjoy. I don’t get rose really on my skin, which is a shame as I love rose scents. I’m probably going to sell/pass this along, it came in an ME subscription box.

Yo, this smells like the salty, seaweed, fish skeleton air at the beach with a little rose thrown in for good measure lol Makes me think of visiting my grandparents and taking day trips to the beach to swim as a child. But, I don't want to smell like that. Pretty bottle and book/box.

I had just sprayed some on jy neck when my husband came over. He asked, "Did you just used your nasal spray? It smells perfume." He was talking about the corticosteroid spray that used to be prescription- only. It's a clean, green rose scent as opposed to cloying rose scents, I suppose. Even though I love roses, I don't love this scent, and I don't know why since the notes described are notes that appeal to me. However, it being not too expensive, I will keep it mainly because the packaging is so pretty. I like Anthemoessa more, which smells more complex.

I got this because of the beautiful packaging. It looks likes an expensive perfume. The price is really cheap like 40. I am a little bit disappointed at the smell.. it's weird because maybe it doesn't smell like a perfume. It does remind me of the sea but not "fresh" like dead seaweed or something. From now on I want to stay away from marine notes if it smells like this. Someone mentioned salty watermelon. I can see that.. I will stay away from.watermelom note too. It's not for me. So sad.

Sooo juicy! Somehow mouthwatering despite not being gourmand at all. I smell a lot of wet sliced cantaloupe and fluffy fresh pink rose on the first spray. The drydown has more of a salt water tang (but not quite like fresh ocean spray- more like warm wet tidepool rocks) and interestingly a dewy green-grape aspect too. The end result is soft blush rose, salt spray on stones, and just a hint of fruit juice. It's very fresh and great for the heat.

Unlike Anthemoessa, I could not distinguish the notes of Song of the Siren, they blend completely. For those of you who will get the reference, this one smell exactly like what MEXX stores used to some years ago. Probably the perfume they were selling at that time. To me Song of Siren smell like shopping for new clothes (there's worst things in life...). It's was a bit of a letdown though, it's pretty but lack personality.

Salty watermelon with a touch of cantelope over rose. It is an odd one. I can see how this could turn into a strong like. The watermelon fades into a soft, soapy rose on drydown. Full disclosure: I am not a fan of melon notes. I picked this up for $15 at TJ Maxx, along with a bottle of Anthemoessa 84, which I like much more than Siren song.
