Cologne Absolute

fantastic..bought mine at Douglas flagship store in Munich (marienplatz)

This was the first I tried from this line and looking at the name I expected it to be in this style. Cologne Absolute has a citrus, green opening which is clean and soapy with the white florals coming on a bit as it develops. I love tarragon as a herb and the thought of a fragrance which features it at the forefront is great but something doesn't work as this settles. It became more herbal certainly, but not something I would enjoy wearing as something seems slightly off about this combination. Good on Tom Daxon (we will come to what I thought of the other three I sampled in later reviews) for not just making a classic cologne but maybe he should've done? I think for those that like it, this will be a real gem.

Opens with a bright burst of neroli, bergamot, and violet leaf. This opening is extremely brief, being quickly replaced by the overwhelming heart of white florals. Muguet note dominates the cologne, giving it a much more feminine vibe. This reminds me of an old English wedding bouquet composed of lily of the valley flowers... Fresh, simple, yet demanding attention. (34)

Very Soapy. Not worth the price

This was my first test of this Line of T Daxon scents; this one is simply too green and floral for me to pass any proper vote on its strengths. The omnipresent green/herbal/floral components are all there as usual; Neroli (orangey, zzz), petitgrain (more bitter herbal orange influence) violet, etc etc. It appears natural enough, but not enough balance and not to my taste in the end, but I'm pretty sure it's aimed very much towards women but is anotehr Niche designer marketing his scent as 'unisex' in order to boost sales/interest. In it's own right, certainly I can see female fans of green and florals picking this one up however. The Lily OTV is always a classy and nice addition to any floral type accord I think.
