Sicilian Wood

A bright burst of juicy Sicilian lemon opens the fragrance, gradually blending with pleasant and vibrating woods. Cardamom adds a gentle spiciness which mellows the searing citrus accord. The inclusion of said white florals (jasmine and muguet) in the heart is either so well blended or so minimally added as to be rendered imperceivable. The always warm and comforting sandalwood and cedar in the dry down resonate with the now more mellow citrus accord (it is here that the tangerine note shines). At once citrus, then spicy, and later woody/amber, this is a captivating and transformative scent. Conjures up the image of a beautiful gypsy dancing in loose flowing and colorful garments, shaking her tambourine toward a dusky autumnal sky. Alluring, mysterious and sensual. One of the best from Tom Daxon thus far. (39)

Excellent. When you first spray it on there is quite a "salt and pepper" effervescent hit but very quickly it settles and Cardamom, Guaiac, Bergamot/Lemon and Jasmine are the most prominent notes that I detect from this. It has a softer sillage giving it a more refined, well mannered and luxury impression, as if for a younger yet distinguished gentleman. If I could justify dropping £100 on a bottle of this I would do in a heartbeat. This is superb.

Wow! Another exotic Tom Daxon creation. Beautiful citrus with spices. Lemon, tangerine, bergamot is what I smell here, mixed with exotic spices. Very nice for the hot summer months, day and night. I find it to be very masculine and refined.

This is far and away my favorite from the Daxon line. It opens with a gorgeous Sicilian lemon and narancia scent and then develops with florals and woods. Unlike the other Daxons I have tried this one retains all the lovely notes in the drydown, no doubt due to the ambers and woods. Very well constructed and beautiful notes. This one actually has some bones in the bottle and the spice accents the other notes perfectly. I will finish my sample and this one may actually be worthy of a full bottle. Again, on my skin there is not much sillage at all, but it is a lovely skin scent.

Bought Midnight Saffron and Cologne Absolute which blew me away for originality and waayyyy above average performance. So I randomly bought this... Straight forward bright sweet stinking citrus backed by not overly commanding jasmin dies down to a pleasant half mixed with a half with cedar sweetened smoothed and darkened a tad by the sandalwood and oud. Refreshing and very natural. The negative being it has a much shorter life than his other perfumes and the longer drydown leaves a mostly woody remainder. His other perfumes are overdue rave reviews from me!

The opening is lemon, and I mean real lemon, not just tart also a little bitter. After a minute or so it start to blend with the cardamom and woods. And it becomes warmer. This is an interesting fragrance, it's citrus and yet very distinctive and masculine. Even though lemon is the first note to appear, Bergamot plays a major role throughout the whole composition. I guess because of the woods and the warm feeling that I get, Sicilian Wood may be one of the few citrus fragrances that can work perfectly any time of the day and all year around.

Another refined high quality hit from Tom. A gorgeous sweet citrus - mostly lemon backed up with lily of the valley on top of a photo realistic cedar. My only complaint is that unlike Cologne Absolute and Midnight Saffron I find the buoyant opening to quickly settle after five minutes leaving a just above skin scent performance so arguably not a beast in performance. Having said that - whilst it is such a relatively simple scent it presents like no perfume I can think of so still something I like to wear albeit I’m always nose to skin...

This fragrance has a great opening but I felt a little let down by its projection and longevity.

Half- furniture polish, half- air freshener, wholly synthetic, with minimal projection and longevity (thank goodness!)

This is a much better version of the already very nice Hermes tres fraiche. I don't like citrus but this manifests itself not as overt citrus but as freshness tinged with citrus , a touch of rind and cedar beefing it up and then delivers itself with perfect zero gravity ie effortlessly through your olfactory passages to your sense organs of pleasure so its an experience of enlightenment rather than one of ingredients. But. After two hours its gone, in fact majorly on the way out after 1 hour. My favourite aftershave Fine Accoutrements Fine Fresh Vetiver lasts half as long at a fraction of the price. Same problem with Hermes. And therefore not FBW. Shame. Fragrance: 8/10 its stunning. Projection: 7/10 Longevity: 5.5/10

My goodness this is such a perfect fragrance. Balance between citrus and wood and leather. The leather note used in Fahrenheit is used here. The citrus wood note is to die for. So so so refreshing here. So pure and high end. Smelling this reminds me of just good times in the summer. Wow! I have a full bottle on the way and I'm more excited to review this on my YouTube channel than Single malt by by kilian! I'm in the process of selling my designer scents to slim down my collection to niche only now. I want to have a 100 niche only. I'm halfway there!! 10/10 A++++ I do have to say after wearing this a few times, it doesn't last as long as I wish it would....

Sparkly natural citruses which through reminiscent of D.Fahrenheit signature note transform into dusty-earthy woody [reminds me of cleared patchouli but it's probably Lilly of the valley raw materials]. I did expect a natural high-quality citrusy scent but the dry-down makes it special for me. Beautiful clear-dirt petrichor with hints of lemon and Fahrenheit note glimmering. Awesome.

This stuff is really weird. I mean it smells good, but to me it smells like the citrus is waging war on the woods instead of blending together. It really seems like the citrus is trying to dominate the woods but the woods won't let it and instead of blending they keep trying to be the alpha! Very weird, fairly harsh, smells decent.

Very well done masculine citrus frag! Wood. Citrus/Bergamote and light leather type smell like in Fahrenheit . Super well done FBW The more I smell this on my skin, the more I am smelling a citrus niche version of Dior Fahrenheit but of course without the amped up petroleum note. Very interesting, I do like this a lot!!!

Close to the skin citurs/woods (with some support of white flowers). This is pure sublime lux.
