Black Orchid Oud

This is one of the most tried to imitate scents. The fragrance is quite distinctive and definitely feels luxurious. It is one of the most lasting fragrances you will ever see. Projection and Sillage are very high. The fragrance opens with an intensely herbal and milk chocolate-like tone. Crush the orchid leaves (slightly similar to freshly cut grass) until the juice comes out. Pour the resulting juice over a milk chocolate bar. Soak with tobacco smoke. Soak the resulting scent in the Whiskey and Rum drink. There will probably be an odor similar to this one. The sharp herbal scent is in the most dominant tone. Although there is no tobacco in it, I smell a smoky smell reminiscent of cigarette tobacco. It's annoying when squeezed too much. Do not use in hot summer months if possible. More like a night scent. It stays on the fabric for more than 2 weeks. It stays on the skin for up to 10 hours. The projection is felt from 4 meters. When you leave a room, the smell still stays in the room. Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 8/10 Projection: 9/10 Fragrance Quality: 7/10 I gave 7 points to the scent quality because the more you are exposed to the scent, the more you start to get bored of it. Its weight can make you tired of it. So it is best to use it for special day or night. Imitation scents and their widespread use make this scent commonplace. I'm worried that it's just a common scent now.

I have this and i got it because i like the original by TF - and really couldn’t justify the expense as I collect many frags - usually when they’re on offer. Anyhow, I am intrigued how TF would allow a copy to be marketed and sold with such a close resemblance in name and appearance... not sure if its a rogue copy... but its very nice but no where close to how the original smells or lasts.

The greatest gift to my nose. A nosegasm every dam time. I went through a whole box of tissues.

Just looked up the fragrance ScentedRomeo mentioned and that in fact came up ('Oud Orchid' by SUROORI inspired by TFBO sold in the Middle East launched in 2012) & the bottle does look just like Black Orchid bottle with the exception of the cap being gold and a bow placed around the base of the cap (Google 'Oud Orchid' to see)..maybe this is the alleged unknown TF release I think there was a bit of a mix up..either way this needs to be edited or taken out if it doesn't in fact exist..Just strange it was released in 12..but no one ever heard of it or owns it..

This is not a Tom Ford fragrance. This isn't even an oud version of Black Orchid. This is a plain and simple (extremely average) clone of Black Orchid callously placed inside a bottle that looks so much like the original Tom Ford bottle, that I am certain that more than a few people have mistakenly thought they have purchased a bargain. Yes it is very cheap... but the manufacturers and sellers have still made a decent profit. That shows how much "quality" has been put into the fragrance.

This is really annoying that this is still posted. I thought this was real (and of course wondered how the hell id never heard of it), until I just scrolled down and read the comments. If this Tom Ford fragrance never existed, than why is Fragrantica leaving it up for the last five years? It’s all the more disappointing, because this sounds like it would smell really good!

Hey, y'all. Jeca says she was given this by Calice Becker herself. So the co-founder of Fragrantica received it from the creator of the fragrance -- if that doesn't say GENUINE!! then I cannot fathom what evidence would be sufficient for the doubters.

Maybe it's a mistake with the year of release. For example, Velvet Orchid Lumiere first showed up here and then on other sites, even Tom Ford's official site. So, maybe it has just been released. I'm hoping, to be honest :)

I still think this is a new release, but we shall see :) It's impossible to hide something like that. And why would Tom Ford do such a thing? It's all about the profit at the end.

I bet this is just a TF "Tease" to observe our reactions on if there really were a Black Orchid Oud... strategic marketing if you ask me

Strange, out since 2012 and no-one has seen it or heard of it. Maybe only Middle-East release?
