Black Orchid Parfum

I enjoy the EDP due to its complexity, but I like this one because it seems like they narrowed down the notes to just my most favorite. I don’t really get “earthy” as the top accord, I get more of a “sweet floral musk” with some unique earthy aromatic notes. To me this is 100% feminine in the sense that I do not doubt it is a womens fragrance. Of course, men are free to wear whatever they want and I do believe this would smell great on a man. IMO the EDP or EDT are a bit more masculine to my nose, but the Black Orchid EDP is still in my top 5 and I’m a woman. I think the regular EDP smells like Crystal Noir a bit, as the reviewer below states, due to sandalwood and other similar notes. I feel this Parfum is more different from Crystal Noir and don’t see as many similarities. Ultimately, if you love Black Orchid, you should try this Parfum as well. If you don’t like Black Orchid, you probably won’t like this either. If you’re on a budget, I don’t think you need to own both, you can just wait until your bottle is out and buy the other when you restock. They aren’t so different that I think people would like one but not the other. Both scents are pretty unisex, but I would never say any BO version is too masculine for women unless that woman is a “strictly girly vanilla gourmand” type of picky scent shopper. Anyone saying this is too masculine probably is judging by initial spray and never got to the drydown (the best part, which lasts an eternity). It also may be too strong for people with sensitive noses who prefer soft scents, as it’s performance is in line with vintage classic “beast mode” scents. The quality of the juice makes the scent worth the price as it is long lasting and doesn’t require overspraying. Black orchid, in any version, is an absolute MUST try for fragheads, it’s practically classic at this point. I understand that it may not be blind but safe, but I blind bought it when I first tried it, and I was taken aback at first spray but then completely in love within 24 hours. If you know how to wear and enjoy vintage beast mode scents, this is for you. Nothing about this scent screams vintage, aside from its performance. The past decade has been dominated by “barely there” airy sheer molecule scents, and I hate them all! Haha okay some are nice, but I was born in the 80s— I will ALWAYS choose perfumes that perform like this over the trendy ultra light crap.

I wore Black Orchid edp when it first came out, in the mid 2000's I think. I had one bottle, loved it, used it up, and then was done. It felt like a phase. Blaring Mr. Brightside in the car with windows down in my early 30's. It kind of reminds me of watching Sex and the City even though that came before (Actually my SatC perfume is Gucci Rush and Dior Addict). A few weeks ago I bought Torn by Henry Rose. I like that a lot. It reminds me a ton of Black Orchid. Torn is a lot more subtle sheer than Black Orchid. Every time I wear Torn it makes me crave Black Orchid which let's be honest would last a whole lot longer and is much more enveloping. So here I am buying another bottle of perfume because the last one I bought reminded me of this and I missed it. Even made me miss an entire phase of my life that I cannot believe was so damn long ago. Anyway, I have never even smelled the parfum version so since I'd already had the edp back in the day I blind bought the parfum version of TF BO. Wearing TF BO Parfum for the first time today I don't really notice much difference from my memory of the mid-2000's TF BO edp. This is probably a lot smoother and a bit more subtle but it's still an obnoxiously earthy and sweet elixir. Two sprays will do it and it's definitely a whole thing. You need to be in the mood to WEAR TF BO Parfum because it's an all-day commitment which others will notice. All the Black Orchids are original and delicious and when you're in the right mood one of them is a must for a collection. I think I'll be wearing this off and on a lot this year. It's giving me some nostalgia and I love the sweet/sexy/bold bohemian attitude. UPDATE a few days later: this is different from the OG TF BO edp. It ends up that I like the OG better specifically because it's earthier and darker. This becomes more sweet and if you really let it dry down, on fabric it becomes a sweet floralish (not recognizable floral) MUSK. The original BO edp never gets floral on me it remains an earthy sweet thing. I think I like the jaggedness of the original and I don't like the smooth sweetness of this as much. If anyone is interested in a bottle that's 99% full please reach out. The smooth sweetness may be more up your alley and I will say this one is easier to tolerate, it's more conventional once it dries down and less odd/earthy/dark.

There is a great deal of similarity between Black Orchid parfum (this version) and the original Black Orchid EDP. Which will you prefer? I think it depends on what you expect out of your fragrance. The parfum feels like a less demanding, more streamlined version, compared to the EDP. Gone are the medicinal and citric top notes I experienced in the opening of the EDP -- the truffle/earthiness, however, is still present (which is nice, as it's a unique note that I don't encounter often). The parfum feels more prominently floral -- it leans a bit sweeter, and it's slightly boozy. I do pick up hints of plum. It doesn't feel quite as complex -- there's not *as* much going on in the parfum. (It's not simple, but it doesn't quite lay claim to the laundry list of notes that fall within the domain of the EDP.) However, most of the original's DNA is still present. The spices are toned down a tiny bit, and the patchouli in the base is a bit more prominent, but it's still undeniably Black Orchid. (I suspect that many people might not be able to tell the difference between the two if they encountered it on someone "in the wild," so to speak... so, if price is a consideration for you, that's something to keep in mind, as the parfum is a bit more expensive than the EDP, and the EDP is available in smaller sizes.) Surprisingly, the parfum feels like it has *less* projection on me than the EDP. (I had expected the opposite!) I don't feel as though I'm filling a room with the parfum, and I haven't received any complaints about it. Projection is moderate upon initial application, but it settles a bit closer after an hour or so. Fortunately for me, I don't seem to go nose-blind to either version (which is always a plus -- after all, I wear perfumes because I enjoy them). In terms of mood/ambience, both the EDP and the parfum version speak to me of darkness, mystery, sensuality, and confidence. Which one you prefer could very well depend upon your tolerance for the original's opening notes and your personal preference. I love them both, and I'm having a hard time deciding which one suits me best.

This one is a way better version than edp, especially in the opening. When i first tried BO, didn’t appeal much to me because it was mainly an earthly sour dry woody fragrance - where i couldn’t envision directly all of the beauty. I gave up on it BUT during the dry down started to get different whiffs of it where i became almost addicted the- truffle. So instead of going for edp, i thought why not directly blind buy the parfum since both go in the same direction. Well, everything that made me like the OG, i found it in the parfum from the opening to its end. The emphasis on the truffle note is significantly more proement, it’s less earthy but softer, well rounded, less sharp in the sourness. The truffle note is really what makes this fragrance exceptionnal and unique - while the OG takes some time to get there, with the « parfum » you directly get to the beauty of what BO firstly intended to be. The plus the EDP has, is that during the dry down, chocolaty note appears (sweetness) which way more foreward than in the parfum which eventually counterbalance the initial flaws of the opening (which i believe what scares most of people who say to dislike this fragrance). No more sourness, no more dry earthy but instead it becomes a luxurious deep and richer than le Parfum, which remains truffle forward and boozy, lacking this profoundness. The EDP is unisexe in the opening before becoming feminine. The parfum is more feminine, sweeter from the begining. Hence, while liking strong truffle, i am glad having the parfum. But i couldn’t be without the edp, because then i was lacking of the profound aspect of it. So now i layer both by applying them together. Both perform great even though the parfum, seems to do better. EDP OG : 8.5/10 (i really have to wait for the dry down to benefit from it) Le parfum : 9.5/10 (could be perfect on its own but knowing edp, i was missing a slight part of it)

Original Black Orchid is such a legend to me, please don't misunderstand this review, I adore the OG and wouldn't change it if I had the power to 🖤 This however, is indisputably more wearable, and a little easier to understand. The EDP is the fragrance equivalent of a black hole...endless and intensely compelling. I wouldn't say that this is as captivating, but it's absolutely stunning in it's own manner. The opening is really pulling into coconut territory for me. I read down a good amount of reviews here, and nobody else mentioned it. But to me, it's really coconut (or figgy, sometimes they're very similar). It's majorly creamy, and this has a smooth texture...whereas the original stays a little rougher. I get narcotic vanillic florals in the heart, but it's not a distinct ylang ylang. They're sweet, a heavy, and a little gloopy. This doesn't even verge on cloying though, because that patchouli is nice and dry, and a little peppery. It smells a little like cinnamon. The truffle is actually quite gently done IMO - real truffle can be extremely pungent. I think the TF team went easy with it, this could've easily been overkill, but it doesn't get too funky. And really, I think the silky florals keep the truffle in check. This is more classically feminine (who gives a hoot, wear what you like). With that being said, this is noticeably Black Orchid. Despite the differences in nosefeel (I don't care, I make words up), it's still very similar and bears the same DNA. This ultimately smells like BO on a day off...a weekend BO possibly. Call me nuts, but I feel as if this is summery. What with the coconut/fig and the golden florals, I think this is ideal for a sulty summer night. Slightly heavy? Yes possibly, but if you're in the mood to be a little extra in the heat, I think this (maybe undersprayed) would be a glorious choice. Summertime goth 😆 🌇🌅

Just a quick PSA- A few random reviews from first time blind buyers here seem to indicate this fragrance occasionally doesn’t perform/last or have silage. Counterfeit TFs have existed for years. Even if your bottle looks legit and has a valid batch code. There’s a certain Turkish website that was one of the top 5 in google shopping results for hundreds of top selling high end designer perfumes for more than 2 years recently. I made the mistake of ordering from them once and the scents I bought were Sooooooooo fake. Lasted 5 minutes. Never projected. Most smelled like watered down drug store bad dupes that smelled nothing like the real thing. I recall seeing the entire TF orchid line on that site. I reported my accidental counterfeit purchase to PayPal but they refused to refund unless I paid $80 to ship the bottles back to the seller overseas, in a strange first time where PayPal didn’t side with me. I used PayPal for many daily transactions for my business for the past decade and I will never forgive them for that and have switched how I pay ever since. I’m a big grudge holder. The counterfeit site continued to stay in business and thrive for years. Selling convincing looking dupes. Only recently have their listings been removed from google shopping, so i guess google finally figured it out, but I know the site still exists because I can’t seem to get the spam filters to keep their “buy 1 get 3 free” emails out of my inbox. That’s why any popular scent like this needs to be purchased from a legit trusted retailer. If you bought your bottle on eBay or any other resale site, I catch people reselling the fakes they regretfully bought *all the time*. If your bottle doesn’t perform, there’s a good chance you bought a fake. Go test at a real store for yourself, don’t post reviews for counterfeit fakes, thank you.

My current daily driver and favorite iteration of the BO line. The best way to describe this is a massive simplification of the EDP. As if the EDP was blended so seamlessly that you couldn't really tell the individual notes apart. Yes there is some rum in here but I would not call it boozy by any means. Admittedly less interesting in the heart vs the EDP but very smooth overall and has the best dry down of any of the BO lineup; it's smooth and rich without being overly sweet. It's the best version of that signature chocolatey and plummy experience that has you smelling your wrist all day. I do not get any distinct floral notes like I do with the EDP either, there is a "floral-ness" in there somewhere but it's just so well blended in that you can't really pick it out. I also find it a little more powdery too in the dry down. Performance for me is worse than the EDP - the scent itself is less brash, more intimate, and only lasts between 6-8 hours. I can easily apply my usual 5 spray pattern which I usually don't do with the EDP. I still love the EDP though - it's much more intricate with more distinctive notes. Truly if you want the purest, quintessential BO experience the EDP is still king. This Parfum version I feel probably appeals to more people as it's just less complicated and ultimately smoother all around. I'd say it's a very worthwhile flanker but I'm also one of the weirdos that can easily smell the difference between all of the BO iterations. For most people it'll probably just come across as a smoother, creamier, and more agreeable version of BO.

Black Orchid Parfum is sharp off the top, and gently animalic, then it becomes like wrapping yourself in silk. It’s warm, sweet and boozy. It’s so well balanced with those light sweet florals, the juicy plum gives depth and the patchouli brings a moist and earthy base. Something gives it just a little bit of skankiness. I love it. It’s just a little. The soft white floral here is heartbreak ridge. It’s like the smell of sweet fondness secretly lulling you unawares. This parfum has such a presence there’s no way anybody’s going to miss this scent when you’re wearing it. And It performs like something really special; projection amazing, longevity very impressive. After five hours I was still smelling my own scent bubble, after six someone said I smelled very nice. This is the real stuff. This really can last. Great performance. This scent really has a lot rocking in it and it needs to be worn thus. It’s a rockstar. This was a favorite of Brooklyn Fragrance Lover’s Carlos Powell (fragcom YouTuber). He named it best designer of 2020. His love for this fragrance convinced me it may be great. He was right. Sixteen spray Black Orchid Parfum salute! Rest in peace, Carlos. If anyone belongs on this page you do. To say you will be missed is an understatement. 2/12/21

I know I’m late to the party on this one, but oh what a party!! The parfum version of Black Orchid still leans feminine especially in the sweet ylang-ylang forward opening, but settles down into a more unisex and fruity (my god those juicy plumbs!) + very subtle rum scent within half an hour. Finally it further evolves into a waxy floral. On my skin I don’t get the earthy truffle notes as I know them in the gourmet sense, but something is definitely helping this with being more wearable for us guys than the OG. Male or female, if you rock this you’ll project nothing but power and confidence, and yes, a little sexy darkness. When they say it projects and lasts they weren’t wrong! Needs a new scale that goes beyond enormous and eternal hahaha. In theory it should be too much, but it’s not, and this is a testament to just how beautifully this is put together. Even the weighty gold bottle conveys pure opulence and luxury when you hold it in your hand. I am completely and utterly bewitched and charmed by Black Orchard Parfum, and Tom Ford is fast becoming the house for me that is leaving the rest behind with their innovative, complex, and simply stunning fragrances. Bravo! Straight into my top 5.

After debating whether or not I really needed this, already having the Black Orchid EDP and EDT, and Velvet Orchid, and after testing it a couple of times in store and always concluding in the moment that it wasn’t different enough to warrant the purchase, I eventually cave in and bought it almost randomly as well. I guess I’m just a Black Orchid addict. I swear, they could release another flanker by it and I would definitely be buying it quickly as well. In the initial dry down, right after the opening, I definitely do agree that it’s much earthier than the original, as well as more rounded and smooth. That touch of citrus that you have in the EDP is definitely missing here. It doesn’t have the sharpness that the EDP has. The actual drydown as well seems to be a version of the EDP that has some of the edginess removed. It’s a slightly boozy, softer, to my nose more floral version of Black Orchid. It’s kind of a shame that the note breakdown of this one is so much smaller, because I’d love to be able to kind of see more what the actual differences are between the EDP and the parfum. In my opinion, as a Black Orchid lover, it's worth owning both!

A very interesting and seductive fragrance. The truffle note gives it a very special charm and makes it mysterious and irresistible at the same time. There isn’t a single accord here that feels out of place. A great concept and absolutely signature-scent worthy. Black Orchid Parfum is the perfect evening fragrance for a restaurant in New York. For this one, you really have to be dressed exceptionally well — ideally in an elegant suit, maybe a pinstripe suit with a jacket — in autumn. It has something elite to it, almost bourgeois. You smell wealthy and sophisticated. I really like it. Price-wise, it’s on Tom Ford level — not cheap. The bottle and cap, however, feel very cheap: plastic. The scent itself is even better because of that. The sillage is excellent for Tom Ford, and the longevity is also very good (5–6 hours). It’s great when a designer/fashion house dares to take risks and experiments with notes like truffle and black orchid. Keep it up. Signature-scent potential.

I’m not a youtuber nor a professional fragrance reviewer, but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that this last longer than this pandemic. If you are saying that this doesn’t last long or perform, you may want to compare it side by side to the original. Overall, I will admit that they are very similar with subtle differences. In my experience, I find the Parfum (new release) to act more as an extrait de parfum, if you will. It seems more potent, smooth, bright and well rounded. It’s much more wearable and less complicated. The projection is a lot more conservative and it last much longer. The original EDP can be bold, chaotic, dark, screaming for about 4hrs before calming down, and very situational. Whereas, the Parfum has a little more flexibility. If I had to choose, I would go with the Parfum; It offers more versatility. But if your going to the club and need something to battle COVID, loud music, and bad breath, go with the EDP 😂. If you ballin, get both.

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this review, but I am. This fragrance, which originally i thought was a total flop, is absolute fire and is truly sexual. Both genders can wear this, and as a man who likes mostly fougeres, this stuff is wildly sexy. Idk man, I tried to resist this. This is Tom Ford waving his fragrance wand, ya dig? Thanks Tommy! Nuclear projection which is awesome. This scent wants to wear you, and it’s your job to remind it that you are its master. But to be in control of this scent, you must be comfortable with losing control at times. Fear of losing control will result in the fragrance wearing you. A carefree confidence will have this fragrance coming back to you like a trained bird in the sky. It will be yours, and with its mesmerizing projection, people will learn something about you that is deeper than anything that could have been spoken. Sorry, I hit the weed toooooo hard tonight.

Let me start this review off by saying that I am not the biggest fan of warmer or stronger perfumes, but I absolutely love this one. It is not screechy whatsoever but has bright fruity notes that die down to a honey like warmth which is balanced and well rounded. It is not listed but I detect a chocolate note. The top note of plum and middle note of ylang are a bit strong, but they wear down quickly. Because it is missing some heat and woodiness, it’s actually not too potent to wear in the summer, so I consider this an evening fragrance that works year round. It is strong enough with good sillage without being overpowering. It has an almost neroli like warmth and brightness and the patchouli base is well measured so that it doesn’t overpower the rest of the fragrance. If you typically wear lighter fragrances but want something for evening this is not bad!

I can understand why some men wouldn’t like this fragrance due to the opening though I like it but the dry down is dark, rich, boozy, like if jazz club was mixed with black orchid. Man this stuff is plus great performance and longevity. Update 11/2023 This is a fragrance that you have to own. I find that if you don’t have a certain confidence as a man you wouldn’t wear this. Myself I find this as a boss/ sexy fragrance. It goes on quite dirty and earthy and changes into a boozy/ earthy chocolate and then morphs into a boozy floral chocolate frag. This was my sotd today sprayed at 9am and is still has a nice scent bubble at 6pm. This is one that the longer I have it the more I like it. This is a nice one to pull out for one you won’t smell like anyone else also I find it smells different on everyone. This fall/ winter it will be getting more wears.

This starts with an earthy plum and truffle opening that smells exactly like two pigs scurrying about a forest while a fat old French man follows them while eating his slice of breakfast pie in his little cravat and striped shirt combo. Drying down to the edge of a waterfall where two older women giggle to each other from memories of diving into the lake below as younger versions of themselves, before flopping their older frames into the cooled water beneath them and laughing their heads off as they reapproach the shore. Wear this if you know your bed is the safest place in the world and that in winter putting the quilt over your head keeps you out of the sight of the boogeyman. If you would prefer to have a spa day than a spud day, this one is for you. 10/10.

Opens masculine, earthy and strange, dries down more feminine, luxurious, smooth, powdery...it’s dark, sensuous and very classy. It’s similar to the EdP with its ‘upscale metropolitan goth’ vibe, but the drydown here is smoother and more floral/powdery. I actually love both but prefer this one a teeny bit more, it’s just slightly more feminine. Best for formal occasions. Excellent performance, sillage is less beastly than the EdP and that’s a good thing with this scent. As with the regular Black Orchid, you need to wait for the pungent opening to dissipate, the drydown is absolutely gorgeous and worth waiting for. All year round, but for evenings. It’s fine on a summer evening as long as it’s not too warm out and you do just 2 sprays. Unisex leaning feminine.

This actually smells really similar to OG Black Orchid EDP. But I feel like it is a tiny bit lighter and brighter. Don’t get me wrong, it is still a really dark scent. But I think OG BO has way more “darker/heavier” notes and maybe that just makes it a tiny bit richer/darker. I have both, I love them both equally. With Parfum version, you still get your truffle, rum and orchid as main notes. As it dries down patchouli and ylang-ylang notes become stronger. And then you have all those notes playing for a good 8-10 hours. And projection is great as well, scent will reach everyone in your surrounding. It’s a great perfume, very sexy and provocative, it commands confidence and radiates elegance. 100% recommended

This is a dark piece of art in a bottle, dark, mysterious and magical. Not for the mainstream folk that is after compliments (I hate that word). You don't need compliments, you are great the way you are, appreciate yourself and turn your back to anyone that says otherwise, our imperfections make us perfect! But please, appreciate perfumery for the art that it is! If this was music, it would travel through the Lost Rivers of London to find Coil, while dancing under Current 93's Bright Yellow Moon, you get the point. If you wear this at night before you sleep, you might wake up and see Lilith sniffing you in ecstasy! This is for all us children of the night out there! Mr. Ford you are an exceptional being!

A little bit goes a long way with this one, I only use 1-2 to my shirt. Can't really find myself wearing it on it's own as it's just a touch too feminine for me personally, but I feel like the fricken man when I layer it with Ombre Leather. Beautiful dark floral complimented with a nice touch of earthiness and boozy spice. Personally, I get a good sense of balance between sexes with the Parfum but get a touch more feminine from the EdP. For me, the Parfum ramps up the dark mysteriousness where the EdP is a touch brighter and sweeter. Could be worn year round but I would definitely save it for those cooler days/nights if being worn in the summer as it seems like it would be a bit much in heat.

Simply put: a masterpiece. Hands-down the best designer fragrance I own and perhaps the favorite of my entire collection of designer and niche alike! Signature scent, without a doubt. I love the rich, plummy-boozy punch of the opening and how exquisitely it mellows into a creamy chocolatey-orange base. Is it very similar to the original? I mean... kind of. But the differences are definitely there and at the end of the day I just think this improves on the OG in just about every way. I can smell this on my clothes for DAYS and it projects strongly for at least 6+ hours, which is really saying something for a latter-day Tom Ford. A failsafe compliment grabber. 10/10 Fall/Winter Evening

Strong and unique smell. If your skin type is dry, it will probably stay on your skin for at least 3–4 hours, while your clothes will keep the scent for 5–6 hours or more. Don’t expect a miracle, though. The opening can be harsh at times and needs a little patience. It may make you feel dizzy, especially on an empty stomach or early in the morning. The sillage is enormous for the first 2 hours, so it’s not ideal for office mornings or public transport. It’s a well-rounded perfume for fall and winter. Personally, I wouldn’t prefer it for summer or late spring. Simply, it’s the best costume you can ever wear for night outs — a complete experience.

Do not buy the Parfum version if you’re just expecting a longer-lasting version of the original. While similar, the two scents have very different openings. I would consider the parfum to have a more earthy, truffle-forward opening, with hardly any detectable florals. The original opens with truffle and florals at about 1:1 ratio. The drydown on both smell very similar to me. Perhaps the parfum could be viewed as slightly more “masculine,” in the opening. I would say it’s simply different. No better, no worse. Only blind buy safe if you love the original and also love truffle / earthy openings.

Well this is SUBLIME! I think I love it even more than the original Black Orchid, which I adore. To be honest I enjoy Velvet Orchid too, and this Black Orchid Parfum seems to marry all the best bits of each perfume to create something clearly related but stunning all of its own. After the deep truffle and chocolate opening, what stays for hours on my skin is a gloriously layered scent of honeyed silken flowers. Like bathing in a golden lake after walking through a moonlit flower garden. As gourmand and complex as the original, but more feminine and alluring. I’m in love.

Sublime! The Ballad of Tom Ford’s “Black Orchid Parfum” is sensual, inviting, addictive: the intro - which lasts for maybe 30 minutes on my skin - is a huge burst of smooth, rich, boozy plum followed by verses of dark, earthy truffle illuminated by a melody of fruity floral notes... between 1-to-2 hours a slightly feminine powdery note comes forward but thankfully disappears... plum returns after a few hours to compliment the now smoother and less earthy truffle. With one simple spray, even after a shower and over 12 hours later, a hint of boozy plum remains!

I cannot say this in other terms, this is sex in a bottle, period. Like, I don't care if you're a man, a woman, gay, straight, trans, whatever, sex is for everyone (who want sex) and so anyone can wear this and be super sexy. That being said, my wife seemed to think it smelled too masculine for her taste but that it was sex in a bottle when I wear it. Very bold dark floral with some boozy things going on. I do think it's a bit better than the original even though the original is one of my favorite fragrances of all time too. SEX IN A BOTTLE, I SWEAR!

I typically avoid florals but this perfume is so gorgeous, smooth, delicate and yet potent that I truly love it. I definitely smell the black orchid. I do not smell truffle and there is no headache-inducing factor at all. My immediate reaction is: beautiful, lovely, romantic, transportational. It is not cloying or animalic on me -- just garden flower-like. I hope it lasts. This will take its place among my top ten, most of the others smokey or vanilla gourmands. This was a blind buy based on listening to the Perfume Guy and a total success for me.

I tried this a full year ago and I disliked it a lot. Today, I decided to give it another try since I had a feeling my opinion on it would definitely change. I couldn't have been more right. On my skin, it developed beautifully. That earthy truffle that I previously hated turned into a delightful dark mysteriousness. The powerful, gothic aspect that it carries is unmatched. I do prefer the original Black Orchid as the florals and chocolate make it a more different, "softer" experience, but the Parfum also has its honorable uniqueness.

An air banquet of rare truffles and chocolate flakes, oozing and wafting, deep and dark, velvety and smooth. Just delicious and super addictive. This is one of the only perfumes I can sniff close up and deep and there's nothing but joy, no harshness. I love it, it may even be the most exquisite perfume in my collection. After a long while, the dry down reminds me of L'Instant de L'homme EDP by Guerlain, but while I love the Guerlain, this is next level. Perhaps it's the quality of the ingredients, I don't know, but it's sublime.

This scent is different. It’s daring...confident, kinda trend setting. This smells like rich. U have to be a it type of person to pull it off. The it person is hated and loved. And so is this scent. I have both edp and parfum and they both last forever and a day. First time wearing this my wife (who never gives me compliments on my fragrances) says omg what is this you’re wearing? And proceeds to bury her face in my chest. It’sa complex challenging scent. Very high class niche level designer fragrance. 10/10 projection8.5 /scent

This is such an interesting fragrance! It commands attention..it’s sensual..it’s dark..it’s intoxicating & I love it. I’m surprised that something this unique has made me fall in love. I feel like this scent was made for a seductress, & every now & then I am that lol. I wouldn’t wear this often, but on some fall/winter nights I will put on one spray of my sample. That’s really all I need. I imagine wearing this scent with a sexy little black, red, or burgundy dress.This is a man eater scent for sure.

Black Orchid Parfum has a striking presence. Unlike any other perfume I’ve smelled, it’s contradictory and complex. It’s incredibly sharp yet earthy, boozy, a subtly fruity, yet spicy, and floral aroma. It’s as jarring and divisive as Mugler’s Angel, you either absolutely are obsessed with it or you totally despise it. I, being the former, will die by this fragrance. It’s my go-to, ride or die, bury me with this perfume perfume. That being said IT IS NOT A BLIND BUY! Test it on skin first.

I love this by default on account of how extravagantly elegant it is. But it’s so authentic and original such that it’s not to be confused with anything else. So everyone will know what you’re wearing and when you’re wearing it. It unapologetically makes a statement. As more of a low key kinda guy, not necessarily keen on that aspect. Or the heavy floral fem lean however lovely that might be. The late, late dry down is where it’s at for me. When you’re left with that depth and darkness.

Excellent 10/10. I sampled the EDP years ago and it was too feminine for me. I immediately wanted a bottle of this after sampling. However, you really do have to enjoy Ylang-Ylang imo to agree with this fragrance. Ylang-Ylang is one of the few floral notes I enjoy. On its own I find it heady and boozy; combined with the other notes here... it's addicting. To me the parfum is more approachable and easier to wear than the EDP. Excellent performance as well.

If you are not upset by sharp soapy floral opening(which I love) there is an absolutely fabulously perfected gourmand scent underneath. I’ve tried every single composition by Tom Ford. I appreciate even the ones I did not like. But the ones I love and kept are Italian cypress, oud wood intense, tobacco oud intense and black orchid Parfum. If it was up to me this one should have been called fucking fabulous. And I love the glittering gold bottle too.

i absolutely love this fragrance, my personal favorite. however, there are a lot of qualities that would make guys not like it. it's unisex but leans feminine to me. also, it's super heavy and sweet, almost to the point where it's cloying. personally, i can't imagine wearing it outside of winter. that being said, when i do wear it, it smells extremely decadent and rich, and gives off a confident vibe. super intoxicating scent, but not for everyone!

Back when this first released, ylang-ylang dominated the opening, very strong and potent. I went back to the sample i had bought years ago and those florals really took a backseat and have been taken over by rum, earthiness from the patchouli and sweeter notes that were originally in the DNA. Into the mid and dry down it has a “PDM Exclusif” smell to it. If you’re looking to purchase a bottle, definitely look for a 2020/2021 batch.

I do not own this, although I have tested it quite extensively. Do not expect to like this if you're new to fragrances. It is a next level, challenging yet gorgeous fragrance that is signature scent worthy. I already purchased alot of fragrances this winter, so I will wait till next year to buy this. And I could have this as my only winter time scent if I wasn't so maniacal about fragrance in the first place. It's a masterpiece

Sexy, boozy, intoxicating, unisex powerhouse of a fragrance. For Autumn and Winter nights out only, when you want to be noticed. This is a head turner. My husband owns this and I can’t wait to experiment with it this fall. A shallow side note; I hate the flashy gold bottle. It doesn’t go with my aesthetic and therefore I wouldn’t want it on my dresser per se, but the juice inside is a high octane heady love potion!

TF Black Orchid Gold is a unique frag and this Parfum concentration gives it a loooooong sillage. One spritz should do the job. Though this frag falls in floral category to me, it has a unisex vibe with an inclination slightly towards the masculine side. The frag forces me to smell it in regular intervals, though it has a good 6 ft. long projection. Just received the package today and I am already Lovin' it!

My all time favorite fragrance! It's definitely not for a blind buy, because not everyone can appreciate the true power of this fragrance! It's super nice for late nights or a date. The best time for wearing Black Orchid is definitely fall/winter, it cuts the cold weather perfectly. Gorgeous earthy, boozy opening and after some time it turns into a sweet, smooth killer! Super strong as well, 3-4 sprays max.

Male, 22yrs. I am a big fan of black orchid eau de parfum so I was excited to see this was coming. To me this smells like the edp version but with more depth and much more strength (to an already strong edp). I am only in my first few hours of my first wear and already compelled to write a review. This is something I would ditch my entire collection for. An absolute beauty, much like the bottle itself.

This is quite literally just the original Black Orchid, but stronger. Expensive, yes, but honestly worth it. A truly beautiful unisex scent, it may be harsh for the first ten minutes, but it will mellow out into one of the best things I've ever smelled. The notes are blended perfectly and it's hard to pick out particular ones, especially in the drydown. Lasts forever and projects well.

first of all, this perfume's longevity is insane. i sprayed it on my arm at first and i did not like the smell, i dont know what it was that i was repulsed by when i first sprayed it and i was about to completely dismiss this perfume. when this perfume settles it smells so good which i did not expect at all, very floral, sweet, feminine, with it being a dark perfume.

Fall/Winter scent but can be used in early cold/cool springtime. Love just as much as original. They have their slight differences, but still enjoy the experiences I go through - from opening to dry down. Not for everyone, for sure, but I can't get enough of this. Any recommendations on scents that has this type of complex dry down is very welcomed.

You are going to have to keep up with the vibe of this fragrance. If that's for you and you need some kind of motivation to channel your inner Zsa Zsa Gabor, this is going to be a little bottle of heaven for you. Incredible truffle experience with rum, plum, and Ylang ylang. Outstanding longevity stays with you. A partner that wears a black boa.

It's a really interesting scent. Unique. A modernized Black Orchid DNA. EDP is quite nice but too feminine for my taste. This is a truly gender-neutral fragrance. Ylang-ylang must be a magical note. Cheerful like a field of flowers in a nightmare. As frightening and complex as the nightmare itself. A very good example art of perfumery.

Oh boy I have a 50ml of this perfume since 2022 it last days on cloths and about 8 hours on my skin. It’s a dark perfume for sure! The only bad thing I can say it does not projects too much as the original black bottle. Generally signature line of Tom Ford is much better than the Private one in my humble opinion.

Uniquely dark. Vintage Tom Ford. Glad to see he is back doing what he does best. Performance is extremely good. Projection really pushes quite far. If you’re a person that likes to dress in a lot of black, this would for sure be a unique scent to wear at night. It dries down far better than it starts out. Enjoy
