Bois Marocain

Green Bush (Cypress) + Green Pine Needle + White Vanilla + Bourbon Rum + dark smoky Incense + Pink Pepper + Bergamot citrus + smallest touch of Cinnamon + spicy Cedar Re-released TF fragrance. Fresh, Pine-green spicy aromatic, with a touch of addicting gourmand notes. This is a really great fragrance for the scent genre!! But...This dna is what was hip-popular in the 1990's, with hits like Chanel 'Egoist' and Hugo 'Green'. You can argue that the scent is timeless, but is slowly becoming what an older man and newer grandpas are smelling like because of what era this scent genre is from. Personally, i love this scent genre, but never wear it because im obsessed with the idea of smelling like next-gen head-turning dna's. The note of Bergamot oddly comes out in the mid dry-down, pleasantly brightening the dark notes and giving the dna a refreshing citrus acid and sweetness note which is really enjoyable! There is also the smallest hint of cinnamon of a note that reveals itself in the mid as well, that is now starting to transform this dna as really delicious. The fact that this fragrance is changing in the drydown and having notes that are traditionally found in the opening, but here actually are coming out in the mid drydown instead is an indicator that this perfumer is technically talented! In the Bottom end dryoff, a spicy cedarwood is revealing itself to be the base of this fragrance. As a skin scent, this lasted the entire day! What makes Bois Marocain different and really really good is the other notes added to it's dna where the others are lacking, including that White Vanillin, Bourbon Rum and dark smoky Incense. It's taking the genre to another level in a good way, it gives the dna an addicting feeling where you want to keep going back into it to get more hits of whiffs. Im in love with Chanel 'Egoist' and Hugo 'Green' from my childhood, it was the first fragrance that i purchased and it made me feel sexy af confident even as a kid! But i have to admit, even tho Hugo 'Green' is a monster projector, but because of the additional notes found in Bois Marocain, it is now my favorite fragrance in the scent genre - it's that good! Dated dna, but a really good one! It's like a 're-imagined' creation of it's scent genre. As others have stated, projection and longevity performace is poor - just like the majority of TF fragrances today. On the paper blotter in the store, this was nothing special. On skin this is a fabulous dna!! This is so fucking addicting good!! <3 This is going to be one of those forever slept-on fragrances. 4/5 Woofs!

Bois Marocain a complex master piece. Definitely not mass appealing and will definitely not have girls running after you , to tell you, how sexy you smell! No! This is more of a private and personal scent. This scent is more of a Nostalgia scent. It brings back memories with images of the memories you had in the past. This scent can even make you cry or give you goose bumps. This scent to me smells like going into an old house by water, somewhere humid and tropical.It smells like an old wet/moist wood or a boat. Smells like an old attic in a humid place.This smell specifically reminds me of a Swiss old house in Tessin by water. Also reminds me of the villas in north of Iran by the Caspian sea. As I am writing this and smelling this amazing fragrance with a soft ambient music in the background, I can feel the tears in my eyes. How fast time went by and what a beautiful childhood memories I had and this scent was all around me. Opening of this scent is peppery and cypressy.I also smell Thuja leaves emit a pleasant smell which is somewhat like that of crushed Eucalyptus leaves, but sweeter.There is definitely incense in here but after all these smells are gone at the end there is this funky animalic smell which is the base smell. I don't know what it is, but it definitely gives the main character to this fragrance which makes a lot of people not like it, but I love it and I agree, it is not sexy. But it damn well smells expensive and high class. Very high class. As far as performance goes, it definitely not beastly like other Tom Ford private blend but good enough. Projection is amazing for the first hour and then becomes a skin scent. If you are a true fragrance lover you will definitely like this, but you have to try this. Try it with a rested and clear nose. Don't smell anything else before you smell this. Again a master piece.

This is my favorite of Tom Ford's line. Many of his others in the tobacco-wood-leather family have recognizable vanilla, which always becomes cloyingly sweet on my skin. I will not suffer smelling like a batch of cookies that some 8-year old just baked. Those are for eating, not smearing on our decolletage. On my skin, this always smells of cedar, top-notch patchouli, pine, incense, pepper. Imagine walking into a hot, dry sauna with a hint of heady incense/warmed patchouli hovering so deep in your sinuses that it feels like you are being lifted from the center of your skull. Some have called this scent a bit plain, but I like it specifically because it's not trying to do too much--it's not trying to attract questions from strangers or looks in the street or unoriginal commentary at parties. It is, to me, a scent that is good for someone whose other traits dominate first. I wear this scent--not the other way around. I would like to think that the sillage is intentional. I like to wear this when I'm out for an evening with with one of my lovers. It becomes noticeable when someone is quite close to you, and can actually smell your skin in addition to the perfume. It is certainly less interesting from a distance. This scent is really at its best up close, heated by blood, mixed with the smell of skin. It's simultaneously clean, smoky, heady, sophisticated, raw, earthy, and spicy. This fragrance could be worn by someone of any gender, and beautifully compliments androgyny. It is one of my absolute favorites!

This is a review for MOROCCAN GREEN by JUST JACK, a fragrance inspired by TF Bois Marocain: (this review will be here deleted and copied on JJ Moroccan Green's page as soon as it will be created) A stunning spicy incense and cypress fragrance, with cedar, resins and vetiver support in the base. This reminds me a bit of Lalique Encre Noire a' L'Extreme and Nishane B612. I have never smelt TF Bois Marocain (the one it is inspired from), but according to what I read from reviews of the BM, it seems pretty much spot-on. The performance is on the lower side (but so seems to be the TF). But honestly, I don;t feel the need to smell the TF, as this one is really a beautiful fragrance taken on its own, that compete very well with many other woody incense fragrances I own... at $20 for a 100ml pop, it's a no-brainer! Just 4/5 stars, as I wish it projected more. Just Jack? No... Just beautiful! Colder days, 30+

A dark, slightly bitter chypre infused with vetiver and smoky resinous woods. Bois Marocain starts off with a blast of bitter bergamot, spices, smoke and cypress. Thuja soon creeps its head in giving the composition a touch of aromatherapy complexity - comforting and almost eucalyptic. I must admit this part can be challenging to some, as it can remind you of a day at the spa, but give this fragrance time to sort itself out as the dry down is where this beauty really shines. The spices combined with the smoke and woody green elements are so refined, I can't help myself but feel luxurious wearing this. There's definitely more going on here than the notes suggest as I'm detecting mahogany, cashmeran, most definitely some other kind of wood. Overall this could be a cross of French Lover and Italian Cypress, so if you're a fan of either of those, you'll indeed love this one. Simply a work of art.

I started out thinking, hmmm, my first disappointment with Tom Ford's woody fragrances. Particle board. But 20 minutes later it was a whole different story. That's what I love about perfume--my first impressions are never accurate, and that's what makes it fun! Bois Marocain starts out with a strong, aromatic cedar note, which seemed rather linear for some time. Once it developed on my skin, the depth became apparent as it took on more cypress/juniper/pepper. It became far more dry and masculine than I ever expected it to be. I am a huge fan of woody fragrances as well as spice, but this might even be a tad too masculine for my personal wear. Nevertheless, I think it's a glorious woody fragrance. I respect Tom Ford's woody perfumes the way I respect Le Labo's. Amazing quality and totally worth the price.

Just heard that BM discountinued, shame! When I first got batch of PB line samples, I tried Bois Marocain once, and it didn't leave me much thoughts about this scent. Today I happened to pick it up again and got really suprised by it. Bois Marocain is a big woody incense one. To me, it smells more santalwood than cedra, and often reminds me of 10 Corso Como - BM just drier, more incense and less sweet. when reaches the body phrase, it really gives me the impression of being in the asian temples, very quiet and surrounded by incense. it just makes me fell into meditation while I'm in a bus on the busiest and most noisy road in Beijing!

I have the original and just received the new (2022) re release, it’s not as strong as the original. To my imperfect nose it is the same composition only watered down – actually I might suggest that some of the sweeter notes from Santal Blush has been incorporated into the original composition, but just a little. So now we have spectrum in this new trio from the sweetest offering (Santal Blush) to harshest (Ebene Fume) with Bois Marocain sitting in the middle between the two. A beautiful fragrance it is ladies and gents, total class in a glass. Incense dominant cypress aromatic.

Wow. Tom Ford scents are hard to come by here. Now I've got some samples, and it's a whole new world. An amazing one, and worthy to explore. Now what I am certain about is... Tom Ford's scent world is an acquired taste. I've tried some niches already, they are rapturing, so many of them blew my mind and transported me into a most amazing and exciting world full of beauty... but none of them turned my world so upside down as this house. An acquired taste indeed, and I'm working on understanding it.

This to me is a light oud scent, one that reminds me vey much of Al Oudh by L'Artisan, except that BM is more woody than spicy. Still, the vibe after 2-3 hours, is the same on my skin. I love them both, I find them very wearable scents, and this one is even softer and smoother. Lasting power is very good, more than 8 hours, but for that price, I'll go for the cheaper Al Oudh instead.

A beautiful composition. Unfortunately it keeps too close to the skin and doesn't last very long. And since it's becoming more and more scarce, I have to recommend Bois d'Encens by Armani Privé as a very good alternative. It's slightly more acrid, but the vibe is very much the same, and the projection/longevity are definitely superior.

This has grown to be one of my very favorite fragrances, and I was DEVASTATED to learn today that it has been discontinued! I don't find it too masculine, but it is a strong smoky forest/incense, so if you don't want that, look the other way! To me, I think it is beyond gorgeous...

I love this scent. I layer it with tam Dao EDT and I am wrapped in a sweet, spicy, sultry, woody, incense goodness. This is one of my favorite fall scents. It's very mystical on me. It sits close to the skin. Longevity disappointed me, my cool/dry skin ate it up in 4 hours.

Never smelled the original or other reformations, but just got this yesterday and I do love it. A slightly coniferous but very dry woody incense is right up my alley. Performance is ok, scent is great. I don’t mind applying often but definitely have to get a bigger bottle.

If the projection was better, this would probably be my favorite PB. The bright citrus with the woody accord is gorgeous. The Thuja can be a bit medicinal at times. This is truly an original scent, you're not going to find many things smelling like this.

Truly wonderful, dry, spicy woody scent from the PB collection. So very sad it had been discontinued. Also a bit of a shame it was underrated in comparison to the big hitters of the line.

Like it but does disappear fast. Did notice an earthy note. Straight unisex. Need to wear it on the body core for a day for correct reflection.

This was the first woody fragrance I fell in love with. It’s perfection.

Tom Ford Bois Marocain is re-released in 2016 as part of a private reserve after being discontinued and hard to come by, so I'm happy to try this rendition even if it deviates from the original that I never sampled. It's a predictably dominated by woods, despite a mix of earthy elements as well--some cite pine as the dominant note but to my nose the woods themselves are a mix of the pine, cedar, and cypress, the smoothness of the cedar evening out some of the sharpess of the cypress and acidity of the pine. It's a nice mix, that when combined with the supporting notes of patchouli and vetiver becomes earthy and with incense becomes a solid winter experience, a slightly green yet significantly darker sibling to the other recent release of Vert Des Bois, my slight favorite of the Vert trio that I tried. Performance seems to have been a criticism from its first incarnation, rare for the original private blends generally exalted for their power, and I can't help but come to the same conclusion. Bois Marocain is unimpressive on both projection and longevity. It never jumped off the skin very much upon application and a couple hours in, it's faded a lot. The pricing of $330 for 50ml is even higher than the increased Neroli Portofino Forte pricing of $290 for 50ml, so you really need to love this in order to contemplate buying this. Overall, I feel roughly the same about Bois Marocain as I do about Oud Wood, a very nice wood-centric mostly-masculine fragrance but not one I love nor particularly intend to buy. Italian Cypress remains the best woody fragrance of the house. 7 out of 10

Apparently Bois Marocain has fallen victim to reformulation, and is a shadow of its former self. I haven't smelled it before today, so can't attest to this, but I will say that its performance is weaker than expected of a perfume of this scent profile and price point. Still, it is a nicely-composed woody scent bolstered with aromatic greenness and spicy notes. BM has a damp, resinous opening with foresty green notes and a strong cedar note. It brings to mind a forest floor littered with pine needles after the rain. There is a slight camphorous quality too, enhancing the forest effect. Aromatic and evocative, it becomes increasingly dry as it develops, thanks in no small part to the incense note. Spicy notes creep in as it develops, complementing the incense and woody notes nicely. I get vanilla and balsamic patchouli as it progresses further. The camphour persists. It fades to a balsamic woody skin scent with a hint of spice remaining until final fade. There is a synthetic amber molecule that becomes quite prominent at the drydown stage, irritating my nose somewhat. Sillage is intimate and longevity is moderate at best fading fast on my skin. It is a masculine-leaning cold weather scent. BM has several points of interest and had the potential to be great (maybe it once was, pre-reformulation). But as it is today, its performance is disappointing and I'm not a fan of the synthetic amber drydown, but that's a personal gripe. Not good enough, considering the price. 2.5/5.

I don't own this (yet) and have only tried a generous spray from the lovely and very helpful assistant at Selfridges, so what follows should be treated with caution as an initial view only. It's a lovely, warm and incensed fragrance with a strong leather basenote. It reminds me of the interior of my cousin's old E-Type Jag: all polished walnut, cracked leather and petroleum, but with a curious sweet top note that I find very hard to place. Bergamot? Beeswax? If this all sounds pejorative, it's not meant to. I find this a beautiful, unusual and very classy perfume. It's exactly the sort of elegant fragrance I adore. However, for the price (£135 for 50ml), I hoped for more projection and longevity. It faded after 3-4 hours and was completely overshadowed by the 2-3 sprays of Aventus I had put on about 12 hours earlier and which is still going strong! It's not fair to compare a shop spray with a proper, post-shower application, so I reserve judgment. Maybe I will go back to the shop scent-free and ask for a proper dousing to test longevity and sillage. The scent itself is clearly a delightful 10/10. But I'm not yet sure I want to spend that much on something that may be a tad ephemeral.

Applies super spicy with dusty dry chord that's exotic instead of powdery/soapy. Propably from peppercorn that lends a hot top note. Fresh cedar shavings. Crushed sappy cypress needles. Dank vetiver adds base. Applies rich with nuanced quality, but potency drops quick to skin scent - not the worst. Becomes leather saddle in the desert with incense nearby. Dry down settles into a gently sweet dusty musk with faint incense spice. I'd like it more if not so stale. It's not off-putting and the quality ingredients are rewarding to dive into. Similar is Tauer's Au Coeur du Désert — which is stronger with better balance from figs. That's preferable. L'Air du Desert Marocain — This sits between the other two and leans more towards Tom Ford. Tom Ford ranks last because of the less exciting dry down which is too dry despite the incense. 1ST REVIEWS: A bro from a very different demographic ordered at the bar next to me. I was drawn by his scent so much, I broke social boundaries to ask what it was. He said it was this. Pretty strong/rare praise even though I haven't worn it yet.

A discontinued jewel of dry incense & cedar... This is a wonderful incense fragrance. Pine-like (an authentic Moroccan Cedarwood note). Followed by dark green Cypress and incredibly authentic smoky incense. Without a doubt one of the best incense fragrances I've tried. I find it very dark and deep and resinous. A hint of pink pepper with the dry cedar and vetiver, combined with the incense makes it a wonderful creation. I am impressed with this one. Very dark, can be worn by men or women although I find the incense & cedar combination very dry and masculine to my nose. It's a real shame they discontinued this, and even Tom Ford mentioned it was one of his favourites from the Private Blend line (this was discontinued due to poor sales). I would welcome a re-release of this. It smells very different to other mainstream releases, has one of the best incense notes, and will be truly missed. A fantastic cedarwood & incense gem.

2 ml. sample from "2022 TF Enigmatic Woods Collection" Edition Similar style to OUDWOOD but this is Cedar, Cypress, Vetiver + Mild powdery. It's doesn't have Vanilla / Slutty quality that OUDWOOD have. You might call this "Bois Cedart"because the sample I received has very strong Cedar wood smell. But it has dry-vetiver quality / a bit creaminess of sandalwood and smell of ISO E SUPER to add some dept. Cypress make it a bit interesting but that's all. it becomes pure wood too soon. By the name "Bois Marocain" it could be a bit oiler almost slick. This is just a nice dry semi-full body woody fragrance with green edge on it mild smoky. Polite, Groom, Understated, Warm and Reserve. It's nothing mind-bowling at all but I don't mind having one. If this made to Signature line, I would buy 100 ml. for sure. Longevity not bad, Projection Intimate 8/10

I am in love with the whole PB range too, there is no point in hiding this fact. Bois Maroccain is another tom Ford's variation on the theme of woods and incense. It is very deep, smooth, and if I had to give it a texture, it would be that of leather. Despite a lot of notes that I classify as masculine, the scent comes out as quite soft and feminine. BM is a calm, balmy fragrance, thick like warm honey. Quiet vetyver and cypress are livened up by vibrant, peppery notes. Wearing it is a pure pleasure. It lasts a long time, it smells luxurious and elegant. If not the price, I would like it as an every day evening scent, but as it is, I will be saving the little sample for special occasions.

Just landed a decant of this from the private blend (not one of the multiple re-releases). The opening of this is phenomenal. Every note listed on this page is present. It’s fresh, spicy, woody, and smoky all at the same time. It’s almost what I expected TF Vert D’Encens (green incense) to smell like but it doesn’t. This one is pretty linear as it’s mainly green herbal/smoky throughout. Longevity and projection are no more than moderate on this one. I did feel like I had a decent scent bubble around me, but it’s pretty subtle. If you’re looking for something in a similar realm with more longevity and projection, Ebene Fume is the best performer out of the 3 in the exotic woods collection.

Amazing 10/10 from a scent standpoint, esp the gorgeous incense and woods notes. But I wish it had more longevity and sillage. I'm using 1-1.5 ml per day, which is far too high, and making it too inconvenient to keep reapplying. I put this into the wonderful and striking notes BUT quick-disappearing act category...along with Azure Lime and Rive de Ambre. I can understand why this one was discontinued, and doubt this will ever sell at a premium in the "resale market" like Purple Patchouli and a few select others do.

Iget a VERY DRY WOOD. perfect wood to me: there is nothing else inside as if it is made of one or only few chemical/s. very nice, but it is too dominant with huge Sillage and...boring after a short time. I love wood scents but I wouldn't use it (even if I'll get it for free). I get that same dry wood in "wonderwood" but in a lovely compositions with other wonderfull notes. MEN ONLY I wouldn't recomend it for women

A warm, comforting cypress scent; hazy, woody sweetness under a veil of somber incense. I don't really get an Eastern vibe from this. It reminds me of walking through a woodland glade near my local church, the scent of the conifer trees mingling with the distant echo of burning myrrh. Unfortunately it's a very shy performer and is barely audible after 2 hours on my skin, so I can't recommend it.

Beautifully evocative, warm, spicy incense-y wood (gotta confess I was convinced it was sandalwood at first) with the incense and peppers giving a delicious, slightly darker twist. I liked it a great deal - BUT not at that price point! - and the longevity is absolutely pitiful - totally gone within 4h in my experience. Lovely, but just not worth the money.

This is definitely a unisex frag. Warm and inviting but with a a refreshing air that has me inhaling and sniffing my arm over and over. This is by no means an over powering scent but gives gentle wafts of subtle, sweet incense & woods and fresh, green, lush forest air that is rather close to the skin. Stunning... I want to smell this all over my home!

Well, BM is a very nice, masculine perfume. Definitely one i'd recommend someone to try. The only problem with it is that to me it has an amazing resemblence (if not identically the same scent) to Black Walnut of Banana Republic which is much cheaper and a classic. Did get positive feedback from a lady though. Try before you buy.

Very very nice! It’s a soft smoky, herbal woody fragrance. It’s pleasant, calming, a bit mysterious and intimate. It’s not overly sweet and smells elegant and expensive. It’s more masculine than unisex in my opinion. It’s sensual and almost adictive. Fans of Tom Ford will surely like it. Final note: 9/10

A soft 4 for a heavy frag. Very heavy woodsy fume. "Incensed," if you will. Cypress seeps out atop a bedding of spicy grasses. Heavy stuff. Heavier than Rikishi in his prime. Vert artisinal and particular. The 2010 blend, that is. An interesting wear that's exciting to test.

A hundred dollars for a small plate of gold? What am I going to do with it? Take it off and sell it? Even Killian has a little more heart giving you the whole package for a hundred more (vs. the refill version)

Really nice scent but after 10 minutes I spray it, I can faintly smell it. I have to bring my wrist to my nose to check if the scent is still there. Not worth the price £££

I recently sampled the 2022 re-release of Bois Marocain. To me, this cedar centric scent sits between Tom Ford's Ebène Fumé and Santal Blush. Santal Blush is sweeter and Ebène Fumé is spicier than Bois Marocain. To my unsophisticated nose, there isn't a sufficient difference in the opening, mid, and base accords when compared to the other two Tom Ford offerings. Bois Marocain significantly underperforms for a TF fragrance. It sits much closer to the skin compared to his other Private Blend fragrances. If you own either Santal Blush or Ebène Fumé (I own 50 ml bottles of each), be sure to test Bois Marocain before you buy. Overall, a disappointment from the house of Tom Ford, especially when one considers the recent price increase in North America.

(2022 version) If I didn’t know this is a TF scent, I would not have guessed it. Performs poorly; minuscule projection, then gone w/in 2 hrs. As for the scent — wet trees in a forest, wet soil. Which I would normally like but there’s an unpleasant sour, skanky note that slithers in & out of the dry down, eventually makes itself at home & stays. Not welcome.

Like a wet, damp version of TF's own Bois Rouge. Incensy (cold cooling incense), camphorous cedar that just makes you go wow. Almost has a slight fougere feel to it. Bring back the OG BM, TF!!!!

Not a fan. Well, actually, the dry down isn’t too bad. The sample I’ve got though, I was quite surprised not to see cumin as a note here. Must be the patchouli with something but I just got sweat in the opening note. So strong I initially tried to wash it off (what was left on after a bit of soap and water was good though). Definitely a try before you buy imo.

I love Tom Ford's Black Orchid and Oud Wood, but I dislike Bois Marocain and White P. If you love this one, you can find it at Scentsational Shoppe.com. They sell uncut perfume oils that are identical to the original fragrances. Bois M. is a bit too earthy or leafy for me. I smell leaves with this one.

Hazy, dry, boring wood. Incense, dusty pepper, and cedar/cypress. If you like Mauboussin M Generation and Bentley Absolute, you might enjoy this. I found it a total snooze.

I would describe this as a weak woody. The opening is a combination woody/soapy. Underwhelming. I would prefer to use this in a defuser vs. put it on my skin.

Maybe my least favorite fragrance ever? Smells like the worst case of morning breath ever. Luckily the performance is bad enough that after 10 minutes you can't feel how terrible this fragrance is.

I would usually keep a few bottles of each fragrance of Tom Ford to compare with different formulas from different years. Some have a slight and others are quite different, but with this fragrance the developing scent has a complete difference which I have from my 4 50ml bottles that really surprised me. A just opened full 50ml bottle from 2009. The scent opens with a slight herb/patchouli, amber, wood and also very decent light spicy sweet vetiver which is the best vetiver I have ever smelt. Graduatly, the virginar cedar and the cypress green notes stand up and blend with the vetiver, the peppers are very warm here though. Soon after, the incence very obviously grows up so as to burn up the virginar cedar, cypress and the other notes together. You would feel like suddenly you put yourself inside fireworks, luckily there is also a slight sweetness from the vetiver so it is not harsh for you to enjoy the smell inside them. It is the most beautiful incense I have ever had in my fragrance history. For a long time, the incense burns up very gently, you can smell the smoke scent coming out from it while the background supports it in a slight sweet texture of amber and beautiful vetiver so you really feel comforted from the smoke instead. Every note burns up together and brings up a very fantistic wonderful scent. The scent makes you feel very good, calm and respectful, as if you are taken back to the date you were born with people surrounding you, celebrating you being born by burning precious wood and herbels, such a very peaceful scent. The background of the pink pepper, pepper, amber and vetiver performs a very supporting job here. It is art, Tom Ford! This is the fragrance privileged families would use in their palaces in Middle East . Compared with other full 50ml bottles from 2009 and 2010. The opening incense is harsh and you notice a distinct smoky scent comes out. The virginar ceder and cypress green notes join with the peppers together to develop a very uncomfortable scent that makes your nose feel a bit numb. I could not smell any delicious vetiver but rather a dry and bitter vetiver that you can smell like a gunpowder bomb. The dry down is comforting though. The edition from 2016 is a better version than the 2009 and 2010 ones. It delivers gentle incense and nicer vetiver. The cypress preforms the most obvious note here. There are still sparkling fireworks and a burning herb atmosphere. The dry down is a lovely amber and sweet vetiver scent though. You did a good job, Tom Ford.

I’ll try and take a stab at a review for this juice, but just know I’m not as skilled as others on here with explaining depths and layers for every cologne out there. I’ll try not to leave a novel either, some reviews are too long didn’t read. There’s so much going on with this scent I can’t quite understand what’s going on. I want to tell anyone reading this that this smells a lot like Lalique Pour Homme, but every time I think I got this scent figured out I get other whiffs that changes my perception of the scent yet again. It’s definitely a pure woody scent, but there’s a darkness and smokiness to this. Where things get even stranger is when I put my nose directly to where I sprayed on my skin I just get wood, but when I walk around and get whiffs, I’m getting a lot of different greens. This bottle isn’t something I’d wear a lot over others but in my opinion it’s Trojan horse cologne that comes to your nose one way, and then later releases other hidden notes. I can’t recommend this stuff to people as a bottle that everyone would enjoy. It’s not bright, it’s not sweet, and definitely not a club scent. Here’s the thing though, if your looking for something that’s unique, mysterious, and makes you keep sniffing yourself and being surprised that this smell is coming off of you, this bottle is for you. I’ve got to give this stuff a hard 9 out of 10. The only thing that’s preventing me from giving this a perfect score is that it’s not particularly user friendly. It’s going to take some patience to understand what’s going on here, and in my opinion it’a a cold weather scent. Even while writing this review the whiffs I keep getting are changing again. Definitely for the 35 and up crowd. I’m 42 so this bottle fits me quite nicely.
